I wish i could give this far more stars. I have been bringing my dog here for a while. They are great with him check ups are all reasonable, on time and they are always pleasant. However you really get to know what kind of place it is in a crisis. This summer I ran over my own dog in the driveway. I stayed calm and called them, they said to bring him right over. They were amazing. Every step of the way they made sure I knew everything, how much it would cost, both the high end and the low end. They explained everything. In the end he needed surgery. They called me to keep me updated then called more than once to check in on him. I can't say enough about how wonderful they were for my dog. I couldn't be happier with a Vet. read more

Sadly, like most vets today, these people are nothing but drug pushers. I brought my dog in for a paw injury, and the first and only thing they cared about was giving her vaccines. The majority of time was spent arguing with the Vet on why I didn't want her to get more shots, which she smugly laughed off. Could these people even tell you what is in the ingredient list for these miracle vaccines? Also, when I told the Vet my dog had a seizure & almost died from Nexgard, she LAUGHED and turned her back on us and walked out of the room! Also told her about my parents dog that died suddenly 3 weeks after vaccines and they didn't even care, say sorry, or make eye contact. I don't know how these people sleep at night knowing they are poisoning animals daily, because that is where the money is. Make the animal sick and they'll be a customer for life. This just confirms to me that most of the time, you're better off learning how to care for your animals naturally than going to these places, all they are are big Pharma sales reps and as soon as you say you aren't interested in their potions their entire demeanor changes. Disgusting and sad, but it's the entire corrupt system that needs major change for the future of our beloved pets. Good luck and stick up for your pets! read more

We have been bringing our pets to Pepperell veterinary for 20 years now. For the most part, their doctors are good, compassionate, and make my pets feel at ease. However, I have always experienced long hold times when calling on the phone and long wait times when I bring my pet to be seen. Often waiting 25 to 30 minutes in the waiting room before even being seen. But the ONE time in those 20 years that I was late, they canceled my appointment and wouldn't allow me to bring my dog in. They wanted me to reschedule, knowing they wouldn't have an appointment for at least a week, which is not helpful when I already had to wait for two weeks for this appointment and there is something going on with my dog. I am giving them two stars only for the fact that I liked their vets and vet techs, otherwise I would have given them 1 star. read more

I had taken all of my animals to Pep Vet for years and used to think they were great too. Used to. 3 large dogs and 2 cats. Thousands of dollars over the years spent there on my kids. Pep Vet was great - until sometime around when COVID hit. I am NOT blaming them for long waits or staff issues or supply chain issues during COVID or being overworked. EVERYONE was struggling and some customers for sure were quite rude. I AM blaming them for the way they treated my husband and my dog Jackson. I am not sure if management or owners changed during COVID, but they changed and it was not a change for the better. Jax had ongoing digestive issues for MONTHS where he was barely eating, vomiting, and his stool was bright orange and full of blood. We took him in to Pep Vet several times during this period. We had an appointment for an ultrasound and he was fully fasted. My husband called when he arrived, as everyone was instructed to do during COVID, and was promptly placed on hold. He then watched person after person after person enter the building as soon as they arrived without calling in (he was watching them drive in and get right out), all while he sat on hold. After being on hold for 15 minutes he finally walked in - still on hold. He then proceeded to get into an argument with Nicole who was talking as if she knew what was going on. She insisted that they knew he was here and that he was acting like an impatient jerk, when in reality the person answering the phone said "Pepperell Vet, is this an emergency or could you please hold?" We all know that route from calling here, right??? Pretty standard. He WASN'T checked in, they had NO IDEA he was there, they did NOT get his name before placing him on hold. But clearly Nicole knew what was going on and my husband was the clueless one! He never got the opportunity to speak with anyone on the phone because he was placed on hold and forgotten about (I've had this happen to me too, where I finally hung up and called back) yet Nicole insisted that he had. Jackson is a dog that was abused prior to us owning him. In short, they were unable to give him the ultrasound because they were too impatient, tried to force this prior abuse case into complying, unwilling to allow us to assist in calming him, and unwilling to give him a sedative to relax him even though he was fasted (part of the issue when you have a traveling tech instead of a dedicated someone on site, they are on a schedule and unwilling to wait a single extra moment - and Jax was the last one needing an ultrasound because they forgot about my husband on the phone). Pep Vet just shrugged their shoulders and said 'oh well, we'll try again in a few weeks'. I wonder if their attitude would have been any different if it had been their own dogs dealing with this for several months??? BS! I promptly pulled them all and switched to Townsend and couldn't be any happier. read more

Dr. Boyce is wonderful but it is difficult to get through to someone at the front desk when calling. Also, do not buy anything from them as far as medications or food. The mark up is ridiculous. I was charged $13 for a toothbrush for my dog. read more

We love everyone at Pepperell vet!!! Thank you for taking such good care of our dogs. Dr. Boyce is fantastic, and everyone we've ever spoken to you can tell cares deeply for animals. My current dog is doing wonderful and Dr. Boyce and the team has been so accommodating helping us treat her current health issues. She has had 2 surgeries/dental procedures with Dr. Boyce and I know she is always in good hands! My family and I had to put our 15 year old dog down during Covid, which was heartbreaking for us all. They offered to have the medicine administered outside on the lawn behind the building. There was no rush felt and the staff showed great compassion for my dog, family and me. It was the most peaceful and great experience it could possibly be --truly what she deserved! read more

We have used this facility over many years and 3 beloved dogs. I have always been treated respectfully and kind. However, my dogs have all been treated like they were the most wonderful animal they had ever met! Four years ago , my 6 yo Morkie was found to have an unusual cancer for his breed. Treatment was amputation. I didn't know what to do and like so many, wished my beloved dog could tell me. Dr. Berkowi researched, called human oncologists, veterinary oncologists and every vet she knew. She made a plan, did not amputate. She promised me only she would do her best. Her best she did. He is doing well and is cancer free. Very spoiled, which is our fault. Cannot say enough about their dedication, compassion and clearly the love for the field they chose! So incredibly grateful! read more

I don't even know where to start. Dr. John and his staff are absolutely amazing! I brought in a very sick 12 year old dog and they have gone above and beyond to help me in anyway possible also taking in account the price. They have a 24 hour staff and Dr. John lives on the property. My pup had a three night stay there with them and they kept me updated every step of the way. Upon returning home they told me to make sure and call them about his progress. The whole staff has been so friendly and caring. I brought him there because it was an emergency situation. I am so happy I did and will definitely be switching over to them on a permanent basis. This staff truly cares about your pets well being not just about your checkbook. read more

Pepperell Veterinary Hospital has cared for our pets for years. The younger staff will have no problem telling you what they believe is best for your pet which can be good and bad depending on your situation. Like any well run veterinary hospital you may feel pressure from time to time to go beyond your means and sometimes beyond what is necessary in order to give your pet the 'very best care'. Well meaning pet owners may over spend for care out of guilt or pressure. PVH has your pet in mind that's for sure; but sometimes will overlook the bigger picture regarding what's best for your family as a whole. Just because you can use the latest and greatest to prolong your pets life, doesn't mean it's the best thing for your pet. read more

This where I always take Sylvie for her assorted veterinary needs. All the staff are super helpful and easy to talk to about issues. I also appreciate that they are open in the evenings so people who work can actually make appointments without having to take a day off from work. They also just introduced a new thing called pet portal where you can manage your pets care online which is pretty cool. read more

Before I say anything I just want to let everyone know this vet has the most unprofessional employees..I took my dog Ruby here for surgery and from day 1 they seemed very professional, until the surgery was done..they told me I needed to get xrays for a cancerous lump which I did, they then told me to get blood work done which I did..I had them do the surgery and I get a call supposedly half way done I get a call "Ruby is doing great!..but we have a problem..we cant remove the tumors completely"..then they give me the ultimatum "we can either stitch her back up or if we attempt to take the other tumor out she wont wake up"..i told them to stitch her up, I picked her up that night and 5 days later her back leg was the size of 4 legs put together..i called them and they told me to bring her down at no charge..i bring her down and DR BOYCE had the nerve to tell me "if this were my animal I wouldn't waste the money on her and keep her alive."..at this point I knew this vet was just heartless..a couple months down the road I get a call from the most ignorant employee Frank, telling me their going to take me to small claims if I don't pay them the remaining $300..i had told him that my father had just passed away suddenly and we were going thru some "hard times"..he had the nerve to tell me he doesn't care and will take me to court..i contacted the owner Jen and spoke with her about everything and she told me she understands and will give me a payment extension..4 days pass and this prick Frank sends me a threat in a text message about taking me to court..i would NEVER recommend this vet to anyone!!! read more

We take all three of our cats here. We recently had to put one down, unfortunately. Everyone here from office staff, to technicians, to the doctors genuinely care about the people and their pets. They take exceptional personal interest in each animal, and even with our latest experience of losing one of our cats they went above and beyond what I would expect. After two weeks of trying to get our cat better, with a failing liver we decided it was time. We called on a Monday, out of the blue, and asked to be seen as soon as possible because our cat was in so much pain. Initially we were told the earliest we could be seen was 7:30 at night, and planned on that. After watching her barely get around we called back, and the office staff spoke to the doctor, and we were told come in now 1:30. I'm not certain, but we believe that the doctor worked into her lunch break to help us say goodbye. When we got there they had a private room set up with a comfortable bed, and some treats for her. They explained everything and how would happen. Keep in mind this after they tried everything they could to help her. With the other two cats they are caring, and wanted to know how they were feeling. We have not a single negative experience here with anyone. We have decided that from now on this is the only we'll take out pets, and will highly recommend them to anyone. Even with basic exams they keep the information understandable without over-the-top jargon to make themselves sound higher and better. They never come off as condescending or chastise anyone for a pet having a problem that we're unaware that we could have caused(we've all been guilty of this at some point or another). The other side of this is cost, which anyone with a pet knows can get expensive fast. They're reasonable, and willing to discuss options that are affordable for pet care. I would suggest to anyone that this is a place to take your pet, whether for basic check-ups or more critical care. read more

the male vet took my kitten out of the exam room without my permission to take blood for a test I never authorized, and then charged me $112 instead of the $28 visit I was there for. I will never be back. I'd rather travel to a vet far away than ever return. read more

I've taken two of my dogs there and never had a problem with the vets, they have all been wonderful. The staff behind the desk and the techs are another story. When my 13 year old lab mix was suffering (yes, she was suffering) with arthritis. I made the decision to put her down because she was snarling at my children and vomiting up the contents of her stomach plus the pills I spent a lot of money on. This decision was difficult and heart wrenching, but made more difficult by the judgmental attitude the staff treated me with. Seriously? Do you think someone would own a dog for 13 years and NOT consider her pain level the day before 22 inches of snow was forecast. A while after my girl went to doggy heaven I fostered a mix breed service dog in training. Again, attitude! At one point a tech called my foster pup 'dumb' right in front of me. Um, no she is currently serving as an anxiety reducing service animal in a VA hospital. Her comment says more about her than it did about Tessie. When we were ready to adopt a dog of our own I decided NOT to bother with these people. Again, the vets are fine, the hours and price are good, but if you want to go somewhere and be treated nicely, you might want to choose a better office. read more

Giving a long standing client a "range" for two kittens to be neutered is crazy. Estimated $1200? The reasoning what if we determine one of the boy kittens is a girl? Honestly, the doctors there have seen the kittens twice and know they are boys!! I am convinced they are all about making money and less about pet care. I have gone to another vet in town who neutered my boys for more then 1/2 the price. read more

I would not recommend anyone to them. They over charged me and tried to sell me something that I did not need for my dogs. I had to come back after the weekend after I realized they overcharged me and did not tell me the prices of the services. Pepperell Veterinary Hospital is such a wonderful place to bring your furry friend! Everyone, we've met that works here is great. You can tell the staff has a passion for what they do. If your anything like my husband and I, our dog is a member of our family and want the best care for him. Without hesitation, I know that we've found it here. We feel so fortunate to have met Dr. Flanagan. Dr. Flanagan is an amazing person, and an amazing doctor. When she comes into the examination room she greets us with a warm smile. It may seem like a small thing but she will sit on the floor with our little guy to examine him. This in itself I've never seen in a vet do before. She takes as much time as necessary to answer any of our questions. If we didn't know any better we would think that our dog was the only patient in the hospital when we come for his check-ups. This is because we are made to feel that he is the most important patient. I can't say enough great things about our experience here. read more

Pepperell Vet is the BEST! Here is my story - my golden retriever named Bella who just turned 3 years old got very sick over Labor Day! She grew this huge mass on her left side of neck and her whole throat and jaw was huge. I was forced to take her to Nashua Hospital and they sent me to Woburn emergency room for pets in case she needed an ultrasound. I spent 8 hours in Woburn and they basically told me they think it's a large mass and not sure so she needs an ultra sound and SPECIAL surgery ro remove the mass. (Even said it could be cancer) They wanted to keep her over night and get her into special surgery. I was quoted close to $7,000 for the surgery. THis didn't sit well with me so I ended up bringing her home and waited outside Peperell Vet the next morning to see our vet. Walking in very upset and without an appointment they were so kind, professional, and empathatic. They took me right away and Dr. Flanagan saw her. Dr. Flanagan is the BEST!!!!!!!! She was so calm and prescribed the right antibiotics and an antiflamatory medicine. She knew she saw this before on dogs and calmed my fears. THe hospital even told me Bella could have cancer! 3 days later Bella was all better! Thank god for Dr. Flanagan and Pepperell Vet Hospital. I can't imagine why the Woburn hospital wanted to cut out the mass so quickly. THey are kind, professional and extremely knowledgeable at Pepperell Vet! THey also called the next day to check on her and Dr. Flanagan called days later at 9:00pm to see how Bella was doing. I highly recommend Pepperell Vet and Dr. Flanagan!!! read more

I have been sending my cats to Pepperell Vet for twenty years. They have provided exemplary care for my pets - from surgeries, dental cleaning, antibiotics, advice and hand-holding, through their final hours. While the practice has evolved (who hasn't), they have a core team of long-term, committed employees who make the practice familiar, caring and efficient. There are other practices much closer to where I live, but I trust the care my pets receive here, and gladly make the drive. read more

We've been bringing our 8 year old lab to Pepperell Veterinary for 6 years. The staff are great and the vets are absolutely wonderful. Our lab is 100 lbs of raw courage (read marshmallow) and is quite anxious when visiting. But the vets/dog whisperers get down to his level, pet him, speak to him in a very soothing voice and provide excellent care. They have helped tremendously with his varied ailments and don't order unnecessary and expensive tests. The wait area is spacious and the facility is quite clean. An added bonus, which our lab loves, are the grounds which have plenty of bushes and trees for exploration and walking off some anxiety. read more
