She was super short with us and dismissive. We would of left had we not read great reviews on the food. Hope the food is worth it.... **Update** Wings were really good but know hot isn't hot at all, definitely needs more kick to it. This is coming from my husband who sweats on Texas Pete. Mango Tango is super sweet. We add these descriptions to the sauces we tried because we did not get help when we asked about them. Average at best, would give it a 2 1/2 star if I could. Had family in town and ordered a variety of sandwiches, they were thin on the meat and heavy on the bread, over priced. So, we are not summer renters, we are transplants to the area & we're just looking for a decent place to get pizza. Some of our neighbors suggested Pepperoni Grill, so we tried it. Looking back, it's probably not fair to judge this place on our first & only experience, but you know the saying "you never get a second chance to make a first impression". We called in our order (nothing special, just a large pizza off their menu & some garlic knits). They told us it would be 90 minutes, ok, it's a Saturday night at 6, we can deal with that...but when we picked it up we were 20 minutes EARLY & expected to have to wait. Instead it was ready, yay. Well, not so much. It had obviously been sitting for a while & was cold & really borderline on being edible. Big it's pizza, so even cold, it wasn't that awful (again, trying to be fair). I just think they gave some lessons to learn on how to navigate busy times. It was pretty expensive $30 for a large pizza & 6 tiny (& I mean TINY garlic knots), which probably would have been pretty tasty if they were not cold & the garlic butter wasn't congealed by the time we got there. We may try them again when it's not the weekend or when we know they definitely aren't busy, like a Tuesday at 5 pm or something to see if they actually know how to do it right, but next time we want crappy, inedible pizza we will just order from Papa John's. This was a pretty expensive lesson. They were busy enough that I doubt they will care & I'm sure they do enough business in the summer that they don't need to care that locals that might keep them profitable in the off season do matter. We'll see. I'd like to do 2.5 stars but it's not an option. I think they may have potential, but it really was that bad of an experience. We were at the Seahorse tonight and decided to get take out of a Philly cheesesteak pizza and to try this place one last time and I've said this "one last time" " 2 times already (to really try to support local) Dominos has an extraordinary pizza know as the Philly cheesesteak so we were hoping they were close. The pizza was one level above hot dog water . Previously we had ordered a pizza slice and took it to the beach, it was so greasy I had grease down to my elbow in 3 seconds. The worst part about the Philly cheesesteak pizza is that with tax and tip it was over $30, this pizza probably cost less than $3 to make, and there was hardly any toppings certainly not much of any steak. If you are on vacation or new to live here do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I've been here almost 10 years and it's been garbage almost every time we have ordered food. We have amazing restaurants here; Joseph's, Castuccis, Salt 64, Duffers, loco Joes, Oliver's, Edgewater 122. We are new to Oak Island and drove out on a Saturday evening to Pepperoni Grill. We asked the maskless window girl what we could order for take out that was reasonably fast. Maskless window girl literally laughed snidely and snottily and mocked us "Nothing: It's Saturday Night. It will be hours for us to fill your order". Snort snort, so pleased with herself in her moment of power. We saw team making salads and sandwiches inside, gloveless and maskless, and wondered why it would take hours to order a salad or a sandwich. However, snotty maskless window girl did not give us that option, she was too excited shutting us down. Luckily, Pepperoni Grill aint the only show in town. This place was the only food spot close to where we were on the beach. My family of six and I went there to eat lunch. The pizzas and the BLT salad were great. I hate leaving poor reviews, but I feel I have to say something in the hopes that someone might be spared the same experience I had. TLDR; DO NOT ORDER ONLINE. No clue what the food was like, since their online ordering appears completely broken and I was charged without ever getting my food. I placed an online order for takeout, the website wasn't great and it doesn't tell you when the soonest pickup time is until after you pay, but I was alright with that. I got 3 different confirmations for my order, and figured all was well. I realized that I forgot an item and called to have it added and said I would pay when I picked up the rest of my order, I was put on hold and then heard the phone hang up. I thought it was strange, but figured they just got really busy and that they'd call back when they got a chance, which did not happen. When I go to pick up my order (3 small pizzas and garlic knots) an hour later at the time specified, the staff at the window tell me they don't have an order under my name or my phone number, claiming it meant their system never processed the order. I showed them my confirmation page, as well as how the payment was already taken out of my account, and acted as if it wasn't a matter of concern at all. The resolution they offered me was that I could place another order, pay again, and wait another 30 minutes to get my food. I didn't want to bother since it was already after 8pm, and was assured that the payment would clear by the end of the night as "This has been happening a lot lately." I made sure to have a number to call in case, and I'm glad I did as the payment didn't clear from my account that night, nor the next day, but instead went through and completed the transaction. When I called again, they said it could take 3-5 days to clear, until I emphasized that it was no longer processing or pending, but completed, at which point they finally collected my information and said they would refund the amount. I can understand technical difficulties, but the lax reaction to $50+ just vanishing out of thin air with no record and without even so much as a meaningful apology is what absolutely ruined my hopes for this place. I would have loved to try the food, but I at least hope they'll update/switch their system to prevent this from happening again. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. Literally was $18 for a small pizza that is the size of my hands (picture below). No ranch comes with the pizza. It was a $0.50 charge for each ranch. We had a pick up order and when approaching the window the lady rudely looked at me waiting on me to speak. I said I was here for a to go and she asked the name. She pulled up our ticket, printed out the paper and handed me a tip sheet. I marked through the tip and handed her back the receipt. I do not tip on to go order especially when it already cost $18 for a small pizza. I proceeded to ask for another ranch and the lady looked at the tip sheet to see if I tipped, then rudely demanded it would be $0.50 for another ranch and aggressively crumbled the receipt. Upon reviewing my receipt in the car I also noticed I was charged a $0.50 cent card fee for using a debit card, it's 2024 what is wrong people!!!!Not to mention the pizza was tough and greasy! Have eaten here quite a few times and I can't say I am ever impressed. I am a firm believer that restaurants have off days and always go more than once to give it a second try but this was like the 5th time. We are laid back chill couple who like to sit on the deck have a beer and pizza and enjoy people watching. That being said we don't want to be sitting outside in the dark because the guys forgot that the lights weren't working and needed be bulbs or something. When one of the staff got a chair and tried to fix it or come up with a solution but when she mentioned to who I assume a manager or owner and they were like "oh yeah.. oh well" his attitude sucked. He was out back so we could hear every word exchanged. Next time we will bring our head lamps lol The food: The salad was minimal basically nothing but crunchy iceberg lettuce and the pizza was one of the worst we have ever had. We asked for extra cheese and there was barely any cheese on it at all. Not taste and the crust was hard as a brick.
