My mother-in-law ordered the scallops, which arrived undercooked and had to be sent back. While the kitchen quickly corrected the issue, the scallops that came back had a weird texture. We also had a Caesar salad and a garden salad. Both were fresh enough, but neither was particularly memorable. The garden salad included Asiago cheese, which overpowered the other ingredients rather than complementing them. $3 extra for each salad-- not worth it. The atmosphere was beachy and casual with tons of young families. The bar had an older crowd but fun. I would suggest that the bar should have a frozen drink machine or blender for frozen drinks. Overall, the service was great and the staff worked hard to make our experience enjoyable, but the food was disappointing and not something we'd go out of our way to return for.

If you like cheese, they put plenty on the pizzas. The staff was friendly and promptly waited on us. There are two booths in the store, so you can eat there or at picnic tables outside. We just waited at one of the tables and our pizza was ready very quickly. We took the pizza home and it was nice and hot. Recommended!

Pepperoni Grill on Oak Island is not Mellow Mushroom! We ordered Hawaiian pizza by phone early on a Saturday night. The wait was 35 minutes, which was tolerable, but we had to wait another 20 minutes in a line due to their peculiar pickup process. Thankfully, we found some shade and a gentle breeze to stay cool. As others have mentioned, we arrived and were told to wait outside in line for our pizza. Everyone was perplexed. After 20 minutes, we reached the window, picked up our pizza, and headed home. We thought we'd avoid the rush by ordering around 4:30 p.m., but we were mistaken. Pepperoni Grill urgently needs to improve its online and call-in order pickup system. It could be much more efficient if we weren't all directed to a painfully slow line where pickups and orders were being taken. It would be ideal if they could call out names when the pizzas are ready, so customers can promptly pick up their hot pizzas. The pizza was mediocre, with a boxy taste due to its prolonged stay in the pizza heating oven (refer to the 20-minute waiting time above). Additionally, it was cold when we picked it up. While Pepperoni Grill is not as exceptional as other pizzerias, the lack of competition on Oak Island creates the illusion that it serves good pizza. In reality, it's just average. We're not sure if we'll order from Pepperoni Grill again. We'll explore other options. read more

Awesome food, service and value. It's exciting to see a restaurant in this location that really has it together. We stopped in on a Saturday night in late March, and were pleasantly surprised to see at least four employees as well as the owner taking care of tables. It's a small space, so that's a pretty remarkable service to customer ratio. Each person went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and ensure we were happy. Because it was our first visit we received complimentary garlic knots, which come topped with plenty of fresh garlic with lots of melted butter in the basket for dipping. We also tried the spicy garlic wings and, wow, a pizza place that gets wings right! The pizza is excellent, just as we had heard. Everything is fresh and made to order, and the proximity to the ocean is a nice bonus. My advice? Summer is coming, and this place is going to be hopping. Plan accordingly. :-) read more

This is one of go to places when visiting the beach. Unfortunately, everyone else does too, so you gotta hit them at the right time or your gonna have a long wait. For appetizers the fried pickles or green beans are delish. Even the kids like them. They have great pizza, so you can't ever go wrong with that. They also have great subs. We like to call in our order and either pick up or get delivered. Their delivery is always quick and accurate. I give them 5 stars for always being consistent and yummy. read more

Walking distance from the beach on lower Oak Island. Chose takeout and pizza was ready on time. Staff was pleasant and friendly. If you're a pizza sauce aficionado, you may not be happy. This is not a bad thing. The muted sauce flavor doesn't overpower the fresh toppings; especially if you order a supreme or meat lover's. The dough has the sweeter flavor of a sour dough. A large pizza is definitely a large pizza. Recommend you at least try this place out fort lunch or dinner, take out or outdoor seating only. read more

Fast paced, local Italian joint right near the oceanfront. They stay busy and the food is why. Great pizzas, my sons love the spaghetti with garlic knots and the house Stromboli is my favorite. It's very small inside, only a few tables so they do a lot of carry out. Some outdoor seating available as well. read more

This is great place to grab a quick lunch even on a Saturday!! Went in and was promptly greeted by the counter staff, who suggested their lunch special. 2 slices and drink for $6.00, any slice of the pizzas on tbe counter, plain and to loaded. The decor is charming and you can tell the place is managed with a lot of love. I admired the rose wall, flowers, linen tables, linen napkins and extra thick paper napkins. There is a new version of the menu with new items. We tried the calzone, Stromboli, and chicken piccata. It was very tasty and the portion of the food is enough for two. The only negative was that they forgot the chicken for the chicken Alfredo but the staff corrected it.

Started with the small Antipasto. Big enough for two people. I would have preferred a milder…read moregiardiniera. Then a large pizza with sausage. Really good. Noticed other people meals, looked good and quite large. Just remember to pay in cash, they charge 4% for using a card.
