Honestly I didn't think diners like this still existed but I'm thrilled that they do! A lot of diners have a hipster vibe and charge $15+ for a breakfast burrito. Pepper tree is nothing like that. The menu is extensive and affordable. They have a good balance of breakfast and lunch. They also have a great kids menu with options besides the standard grilled cheese and chicken fingers. Note: the kids entrees are huge portions. The coffee is pretty strong and tasty and our awesome server (Jessica) kept the refills coming. I honestly cannot go back to the broken yolk after coming here. read more

My first time here and I really enjoyed this place! Came on a rainy cold morning and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw they had a nice, big warm fireplace on at one end of the dining area. It made this place feel so comfortable and inviting. Adding to that nice warmth was the staff. They were all so welcoming with pleasant attitudes and smiles. On top of that, was their menu. It's American style, pretty much comfort food once you see it and start eating it. Definitely coming back! read more

Finally had a chance to make it here after seeing it on my drive around town. Super adorable diner with an old school feel that just hits differently. Honestly could put some snow outside and you would feel like you're in a mountain town (the fireplace makes it even better). As for food, do not judge me because breakfast for me is best served as basic as possible. I ordered the special #1 with 2 eggs, 2 bacon, hash browns and biscuits and gravy. What a deal for this plate and honestly came out perfect. Eggs over easy cooked wonderfully and ready to crack the yolk all over the hash browns. I will 100% be returning to support this adorable small business. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Accommodated all of our requests with nothing but a smile. read more

Came here with a friend for a quick bite , I was disappointed with my half Turkey club sandwich, it was a BORING PLAIN sandwich, just a piece of lettuce w Turkey. Do not get the half Turkey club, unless ur fine with it being a boring plain sub. My side salad as good. My friend ordered a French toast combo , he was satisfied but disappointed for no discount for seniors . Apparently they discontinued the senior discounts . Our server was very friendly , Hispanic lady she was nice and attentive and quick. Where do I start!! Plenty of parking, seated super quick, so many choices, ordered the lumberjack.. no ham.. with sourdough and the best hash browns. Ice tea was superb...service is fantastic.. you don't need to ask for anything... they are constantly checking on you. Not one bit of laziness here!! The food at Peppertree is always good and tons of it. They're always busy with people coming and going which is because they have a great restaurant and service. The waitresses remember you and always say hi even if you're not at their table. The manager is always very friendly and although they're busy he always manages to stop to talk for just a few minutes to catch up on the latest with life. Super amazing food. The mimosa was so great and there was plenty of food served, plenty of drinks and just wow! Have been living in the area for almost 3 years and decided to finally give this place a try. Came in on Saturday around noon. The hostess that greeted us was not very warm/friendly but sat us down right away and took our drink orders which she brought right away. We did have to wait for about 15 minutes for our server to even acknowledge us and take our food order. I mean, she seemed nice but was a bit ditzy and was NEVER around. The food was very good with great portions and came out rather quick! We ordered the avocado Benedict and chicken fried steak. Going back to our server NEVER being in sight. We waited for coffee refills and we were looking for her for about 20 minutes to try and get our check. Again, she was nice but very scattered brained. We will come back but let's just hope our server was having an off day! read more

If you like diner style restaurants this is a good one to support as its family owned. Sharon the owner is the friendliest. Good food plus great service with a smile. Most owners don't greet you or you never see them or know who they are. She's working & serving customers. Makes sure you have all you need and thanks you on your way out. This is our regular Sunday breakfast spot. We're a big group (8-12 people). Our service has always been great! The servers know our "usual" orders and the way we like our food (I.e. crispy potatoes or fries). The food is ALWAYS great. Their portions are generous and you will probably take home leftovers. I used to come with my brother before he passed away, and each time it was excellent. The food was delicious each time. I've only been there for breakfast and my advice is, show up hungry. Because the portions are for you to enjoy there but then there's the leftovers. On this day, you'll be working your quad's. So, remember to lift with your legs. There will be plenty left on your plate that you'll push away from at the table, as you think about round two. It'll either be later that day or the next. Till then, you'll be thinking about how you'll gorge on it once more if you can get it home. However, the battle will have just begun after you've paid your bill and tipped your server. Then there's the dragging it across the parking lot to your car. It's then you realize getting it into the trunk will become your "Omaha Beach'. Don't be ashamed to ask for help with getting that Body Bag they sent you home with, posing as a Doggy Bag. No sense you being the only one making a appointment to see a Chiropractor. Been coming to pepper tree for 10+ years, but today was our last. We came here for the nostalgia, even though last time we had definitely noticed the food quality lowered and the cleanliness is questionable. unfortunately today we were asked to leave immediately after finishing our food because a large party needed our table. One of the waitresses even took my cousins plate even though she still was eating/had food on it. Cousin had to ask her to leave it because she was still working on it. Maybe a good 10 seconds After they picked up the last plate, they came back to tell us we needed to leave because they needed the table. We still were on our first fill of coffee and had just finished eating. We were surprised but started to drink our drinks to finish them. Then Maybe a full 60 seconds pass and she came back to tell us "someone is up front and angry about the wait and we need to the table now" Even though I've been coming here with my family for years it's just not worth the bad vibes and the Denny's quality food. read more

As we walked in it was hard to believe we were in Los Angeles county . It was more like an family owned restaurant in Idaho. Great classic American food best waitresses ever and ok food. Interior: was kept original and gives you a farm land cafe restaurant with original bar stool and boots. Also, a fake tree inside restaurant gives it a great cozy feeling. Staff : were outstanding ready to serve in any second. Restrooms : were remolded and modern not a match to rest of the building but it was so clean that you wouldn't mind. Music: I believe a nice country music was missing all along (Alan Jackson) maybe? FOOD: Was ok with lots of healthy choices and traditional American breakfast. They serve milk too. Family restaurant setting. Seats at the booths are in dire need of fixing. You either sink or sitting on a wood beam. The food is pretty consistent, until I ate there a few weeks back. The biscuits and gravy were atrocious. The gravy was almost solid within 5 minutes of hitting the table. The biscuits were dry and rock hard. Lastly, the eggs were powdered. The taste and texture were off putting. I will find somewhere else to dine. read more

We love this place for breakfast! We found a coupon in a mailer and decided to try a new spot in our new city. There's plenty of parking and on a Sunday around 10am , they can get a little busy . We've able to put our name on a waitlist by calling in and arriving about 10 mins later. Inside the dining room is bright and the tables are clean. Out of 3 times, twice we had Jessica as our server and she's fantastic. Shes an amazing server and not to mention very upbeat and happy which is wonderful to see in the service industry these days. But every other time we've gone , we've received nothing but excellent service from the host , to the servers and the cooks! Our food arrived promptly , the portions were large and our food was delicious. I love their skillets and always have leftovers. I recommend Peppertree as a great place for breakfast and have no doubts that you will have a great dining experience . read more

I have been going to the Peppertree Cafe for several years now and I must say the place is like Cheers - Everybody Knows Your Name, including the Chef and his staff of Cooks! They serve great food at a reasonable price. If you want to know anything about what is going on either in town or around the country there is always conversation on both sides. They do their best to cater to seniors who are handicapped and have developed a way to keep customers coming back again and again. The servers are friendly and most do there best to take care of you quickly though when the place is busy (on several days of the week) allow for some extra time. They even have Specials for families as well as a monthly contest give-away that is always an extra treat. I give the owners a Tip of the Hat for putting themselves out there for the customer! We frequent the Peppertree Café at least once a week since buying our home in Glendora. Why do we love this place? Our toddler actually screams with excitement when we pull into the parking lot - it's that good! First and foremost, the staff is AMAZING. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Even on a busy Saturday morning, you will find the wait staff with a smile on their face, making time to get-to-know their patrons. I went with my sister and this chick was so fucking rude! I felt like I was bothering her just for ordering. I always check their specials boards as I arrive to see what different entrees they are offering for that day or they have a monthly special that is usually good and comes with a drink. We think their prices are good, certainly for the amount of food that they give you. Sandy is our favorite waitress. She is always very helpful if I'm deciding between different entrees, telling me which she thinks I will like best. By the way, please fix the sink in the women's bathroom! It just drips water, not adequate to wash your hands with, unless you sit there for about three minutes doing so.

Btw, colorful menu with good selections. Three tacos for $6.99. Fish tacos baja-style was $3.99 each. I was down for all of them. Got a set of three tacos... one carnitas, one shredded chicken, and one grilled veggies plus 3 fish tacos. Yes, it was 6 pack for me. Lady staff was friendly, nice, and hospitable. Thank you ladies! All tacos were DELICIOUSLY AMAZING! Carnitas were flavorful. Shredded chicken was plentiful. Grilled veggies had great crunch... carrots were amazing! One small gripe, they were tiny tacos... wished they were bigger. Side of salsa for the tacos was perfect in taste... wished it was a full cup and not half. As for the fish tacos, superb at its best! Good size baja fish filet with fresh veggies drizzled with tasty chipotle sauce on a super thin and crispy tortilla. It was so good I had to order 5 more fish tacos to-go. You bet I did. I wanted my daughters to try them. I will return for more fish tacos if nothing else. Btw, guava agua frescas was not the greatest... it was tasteless guava to say the least. But what happened next was unbelievable. While I was on the phone explaining that I did place the order and had proof, the chef actually said, "Well, anyone could call and say they placed an order." The audacity. Instead of listening, instead of checking, instead of even pretending to care, I was basically accused of making the whole thing up. And here's the kicker: after all that attitude, all that dismissiveness, all that unnecessary back‑and‑forth, the order ticket suddenly appeared. Miraculously. I still picked up the tamales because it was Christmas and I didn't have time for more chaos, but the damage was done. The situation could have been handled with basic respect and professionalism. Instead, it was handled with suspicion and rudeness. We never went back and honestly, that says everything.
