The food is always good quality and quantity is perfect, the service is what really stands out. Let me start by saying this is a Norms or Dennys type place.. Seems like many regulars that will be attended to first. It was my first time visiting this spot. I was greeted and told to wait waitresses didn't seem very enthused I finally was seated and asked if I wanted something to drink- I ordered coffee and was handed a menu. Coffee arrived quickly however I sat and waited, watching how all the regulars were attended to- a couple came in sat in booth next to me and were treated way different than I was.. waitress quickly took their drink order, came back to their table- took their meal order then walked away- one waitress finally looked towards my way and asked if I was ready to order- nearly 20 minutes later. I ordered steak and eggs with hash browns and toast.. eggs were perfect! Steak was tender- I asked for A-1 they added a small plastic container with sauce- not certain in was A-1. Hash browns were ok. To be honest the food itself will get four stars but because of the staff snd ambience I will give a total 3. Oh and one more thing.. phone reception is not good! Stopped in last week for breakfast. Busy as usual, so we had a little wait, but not too long. They have a long breakfast bar, so if you're okay elbowing up to a stranger, that's a great option for faster seating. The service is always good, the food is tasty, and the portions are a good size. My mother had the Special #1 ($12.99), or as I call it the "2-2-2" (2 eggs, 2 bacon or sausage, and 2 sides) which is a good deal. My wife and I split the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs (3 XL eggs and 2 sides) which was plenty filling for both of us, especially with a side of biscuits and gravy. While I must commend the service staff for their courteous and attentive service, I regret to inform you that the quality of the food did not meet my expectations. Specifically, the pancake I ordered was cold and rubbery unfortunately, the worst I have ever had. Additionally, observing that the butter container was placed directly on top of the pancake struck me as unsanitary. To compound the issue, the fork provided had visible food stains on it, which further detracted from the overall dining experience. The chicken inside that egg is so hard and no flavor the red salsa on top is not fresh as well. After all these years of driving by the Peppertree Cafe, my wife and I found time to come in and dine. I know Peppertree is a well known establishment in Glendora and would hear good times about them. Parking is very easy since the lot is huge! We came in late afternoon so the restaurant wasn't packed. They are only open during the breakfast and brunch hours. First impressions upon walking in are it's a typical diner style of vibe with counter top seating to the right. Then the host takes your party to the left side with a spacious dining area with many booths and tables. The menu is insanely big with items. I love all the breakfast options from omelettes, skillets, breakfast plates and even sandwiches and burgers as well. The prototypical diner menu for sure. I enjoy breakfast food at any hour type of guy. The items range from $14-18 depending of with meals/combos you like. My wife ordered an omelette and I ordered the country fried steak. Each of our orders came with 2 sides and the options were endless. The service was fine and accommodating. Different servers come to check on you. Our main server was very personable and kind. Once all the food delivered it took up all the table space. And I mean in a good way! The portions were HUGE! The country fried steak had two pieces and came with 3 eggs! I got hash browns as a side as well as 1 pancake. This pancake looked like 2 pancakes, it was so big. My wife's omelette plate was full with hash browns and here side of pineapple slices. We were very happy with all our food and finished almost of all of it. Well worth the price point in today's time. Having lived in town for 20+ years now I can honestly say that the pepper tree never ceases to amaze me. I had lunch the other day with a good friend, and I ordered the black and bleu salad. I had them toss the salad with blue cheese, including the blue cheese crumbles. Easily one of the best salads I've ever had. Whether it's breakfast, lunch salad you're in for a treat with good customer service and quality food. It may not be the newest place but is always clean. The sides were hash browns and pineapple slices. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak with hash browns and one pancake. The service was good. They were always checking in on us. Visited Pepper Tree August 20th 2026 we visit once a month . Today service was not that great the waitresses were very attentive to their regulars! I asked for extra napkins never got them , only was asked if I wanted more coffee once. Waitress asked if everything was fine as she passed she didn't stop! You always have to deal with flies but today they were ridiculous, it's not cool when you have to shew them away from your food! The fruit was served as slices with the peel on them which I was not a fan of. The biscuits and gravy was OK, the biscuits didn't taste fresh and the gravy was pretty bland. More than shareable with another person.) they have a breakfast special Monday through Friday before 11 that includes an egg, either sausage or bacon and two pancakes for only 6.99. Just went here for the first time for breakfast with friends even though we are long time locals and was pleasantly surprised. First, coffee was good...strong, aromatic, and fresh. It was like walking into the old school breakfast place that the locals go to have breakfast and catch up. I love chilaquiles and it was 'new" to the menu. They were great with the right amount of spice and wetness for the chips and egg cooked to order. My hash browns were light and crispy while not greasy. Friend's menu items looked tasty.
