EXCELLENT!!! We are on an extended motorhome trip with a week stop in Colorado Springs. I posed a question on Reddit about a nice place to spend our Anniversary. Peppertree came up several times, so I made reservations. Very glad I did. The staff work as a team; everybody assists you. I really liked this concept. My understanding is that gratuities are split among all team members. Service was outstanding with everyone friendly, smiling, and helpful. THE SOURDOUGH BREAD was some of the best I ever had. We started with an appetizer special. Lobster, grapes, and other stuff in a sauce that was delicious. It was pricey, but worth it for an anniversary dinner. I had the filet mignon and it was perfect. Wife had Steak Diane that was prepared table side by a friendly and appropriately humorous chef. When the flame started, I made some kind of comment and he replied..."I'm proud to say that we have had 27 accident-free days". The Steak Diane was delicious. Salads were fresh, cold and excellent. Baked potatoes were hot and served with plenty of butter, sour cream, chives, etc. I was surprised to see how small the restaurant was; less than 20 tables. I saw no coats/jackets; dress is casual and saw no shorts. When traveling in a motorhome, we generally don't take sports coats or other more formal attire. We did fit in just fine. The dining area provides plenty of space and is not crowded. The ambiance is "old style steakhouse" with a touch of elegance. I have one regret. If anyone from Peppertree is reading this, I was confused when computing the gratuity and didnt realize until this morning. I did leave a decent tip, but should have left more. Thank you for making our 51st anniversary dinner excellent. I highly recommend The Peppertree.

We stopped in here over the weekend and it was such a great experience. We felt like we stepped back in time when we received the great service from the hostess all the way to the bus boy. Every staff member at this little gem is friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. The uniforms of bow ties, as well as the table side service of the steaks was such a surprising and fun touch. Now on to the food. We ordered the Pepper Steak and the Steak Diane and shared bites of each. Both dishes were excellent and we loved the presentation of them. Next time we are in the area we will definitely be back.

We had a sweet visitor while we were dining.

Nice little romantic restaurant. The pepper steak we had was cooked to perfection. Bananas foster was delicious. Service was fantastic.

So 26 years later we finally make it back to the Peppertree which all those years ago was our favorite anniversary spot. Married for 32 years, we decided to give it a go to see if it remained a special place. For years, I have attempted to recreate the dish minus all of the flare and rich flavors on our grills. We were impressed with the restaurant and how fantastic it still looked and we always love the outstanding view of Colorado Springs. We booked our reservation through OpenTable and set the time for 6:30. We arrived a bit earlier than planned but the staff was accommodating and seated us immediately giving us the choice of three tables. After we sat down, we picked out a fantastic bottle of red wine and enjoyed the amazing culinary smells. We decided to go with our favorite the 6oz Pepper steak served with a salad and side of your choice. We both opted to try the Dill Vinaigrette which was superb and unlike anything I have had before. The fresh dill took the salad over the top. And I forgot to mention the bread that we were served before the bottle of wine arrived! Soft in the middle with a great crunch and my wife asked for butter which came out soft and warm. The service was perfect - never felt rushed and never felt like we were being watched. The staff had such amazing synchronicity and teamwork that made the night even more special. The table side cook on our steaks was also fun to watch as Rob delivered the perfect cook to my wife's well done filet. The filet was just as amazing as I remembered could cut it with a spoon!! The flavor of the mango chutney and the fresh cracked pepper sure made the dish of course the basting in butter didn't hurt ;) The baked potato side we ordered loaded with butter, cheese, bacon, sour cream and chives. There was nothing left at meals end. Then just when we thought we were done the staff served us an ice cream Sunday to celebrate our special anniversary event. When we finally departed for our hotel, we were waiting for our Uber when the owner, Max asked us how everything was and we explained how we made memories from the 90's with amazing dinners. He was super excited to hear our feedback and offered us a ride if we needed one. We already have decided that we will be back again!

We had an excellent visit to The Peppertree this weekend. My fiancé and I took his parents for his dad's 86th birthday because we wanted somewhere special and they delivered in every way (see the pics--that smile doesn't lie!) From the moment we checked in for our reservation through our entire meal, the service and hospitality from their team was quick and friendly. All the food was delicious and we especially loved their specialities cooked table-side. The Peppertree is a must visit if you're in COS, and somewhere to go out of your way for too!

Just remodeled was very nice. Looks out over the city. I had the pepper steak 8oz and my wife had the lamb chops double cut. Both were amazing. I like what I like but I would be happy with anything on the menu, knowing it would be the best I could get anywhere. Service was outstanding and friendly. It's Classy not cheap. I go there for special occasions, Anniversary and Birthday's.

Outstanding food and service. When you drive up to the underwhelming outside of the restaurant, your nose will pick up a delicious aroma wafting on the air! Once inside, you will see a newly remodeled 18 table main room and a cute 7 seat bar nestled into a cute wine display room. Service was excellent with a knowledgeable team. Wonderful shrimp cocktail appetizer with outstanding homemade cocktail sauce. We enjoyed the table prepared pepper filet, a wet aged bone in ribeye, delicious dill/cucumber and blue cheese salads, and augratin and baked potatoes that came with the meal. Pro tip: order the ribeye with sauce on the side. I couldn't believe the flavor of this meat. It rivaled every dry aged ribeye I've had in the past. We also enjoyed a side of Bernaise sauce. Cherries jubilee was prepared table side along with creme Brule. Chef John stopped by our table, and we learned a little bit about The Peppertree remodeling. Don't judge this book by its cover! Well priced for some of the best steaks we've ever eaten. Well worth the trip from Denver metro. Make sure to make reservations

Plenty of horseradish but I especially like the chopped celery. My New York strip was tasty and cooked exactly to the temperature I ordered. The "European" flight wine paring was perfect. Service was great. Evan was polite and attentive despite doing double duty as bartender and server. However, for reasons unclear to me but a very common experience, it was a very long wait between the time I received the dessert menu and the time someone took my order. This happens too frequently, once the entree is delivered the server forgets the table. When it finally arrived, the fresh berries and cream dessert was disappointing. It seemed like the berries had been frozen rather than fresh. When I observed this, a server said it was because they were macerated in alcohol over night. I ate only about 1/3 and thought it should have been removed from the check after I complained, but it was not. Otherwise, an excellent experience but not as good as it should have been.

We always sit at the bar and these are the few annoying things that happened the last few times we came. -we didn't get silverware until 5 minutes passed after our steak was delivered. -the owner was arm wrestling one of his friends, around 7pm, a full restaurant trying to enjoy their dinner, turning this into a frat house/sports bar with yelling and carrying on. This actually shocked me snd was the final nail in the coffin for me. -ordering a dirty martini and it actually having cinnamon liquor in it. Lol. The bartender didn't set up his own bar and blamed it on the staff from earlier in the evening. No biggie, but this bartender seems to fumble a LOT. Just own it Bro, we've been served by you many nights, and you aren't our favorite for a reason. We've been going to Cowboy Star for the bar service. Just a step above. It's a bummer, we used to LOVE this place.

Drink orders were taken right away, and everyone received their drinks except my fiancé. He eventually just ordered a different drink instead. We placed our food order around 7:15, but the appetizers came out one by one instead of together, which already set the tone for the night. Our main courses didn't arrive until around 9:00 PM, almost two hours later. On top of that, two of our dishes were completely forgotten and had to be re-rung and brought out even later. We didn't plan on spending over two hours at dinner, but at that point we didn't have much of a choice. The food itself was actually very good, but not for the price. For a party of 7 where everyone only had one drink, our bill came out to over $1,450, nearly $210 per person. At that price point, there really isn't room for this many mistakes. It was also very obvious that the restaurant was understaffed. One woman was running the entire top floor by herself, taking orders and making drinks. That's not fair to the staff or the guests. Overall, the potential is there, but the service and staffing need major improvement, especially for such an expensive dining experience.
