This is my absolute favorite restaurant just about anywhere, though because we live just north of Denver, we don't get there very often (once or twice a year). I always get the (tableside) Steak Diane (in fact, if they ever stop serving it, it will be much less of a priority for me to go there). My wife likes to try various things. But _everything_ we've had has been amazing. For me (as I said), it's always the Steak Diane, medium rare, with the angel hair pasta as a side. EXCELLENT!!! We are on an extended motorhome trip with a week stop in Colorado Springs. I posed a question on Reddit about a nice place to spend our Anniversary. Peppertree came up several times, so I made reservations. Very glad I did. The staff work as a team; everybody assists you. I really liked this concept. My understanding is that gratuities are split among all team members. Service was outstanding with everyone friendly, smiling, and helpful. THE SOURDOUGH BREAD was some of the best I ever had. We started with an appetizer special. Lobster, grapes, and other stuff in a sauce that was delicious. It was pricey, but worth it for an anniversary dinner. I had the filet mignon and it was perfect. Wife had Steak Diane that was prepared table side by a friendly and appropriately humorous chef. When the flame started, I made some kind of comment and he replied..."I'm proud to say that we have had 27 accident-free days". The Steak Diane was delicious. Salads were fresh, cold and excellent. Baked potatoes were hot and served with plenty of butter, sour cream, chives, etc. I was surprised to see how small the restaurant was; less than 20 tables. I saw no coats/jackets; dress is casual and saw no shorts. When traveling in a motorhome, we generally don't take sports coats or other more formal attire. We did fit in just fine. The dining area provides plenty of space and is not crowded. The ambiance is "old style steakhouse" with a touch of elegance. I have one regret. If anyone from Peppertree is reading this, I was confused when computing the gratuity and didnt realize until this morning. I did leave a decent tip, but should have left more. We stopped in here over the weekend and it was such a great experience. We felt like we stepped back in time when we received the great service from the hostess all the way to the bus boy. Every staff member at this little gem is friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. The uniforms of bow ties, as well as the table side service of the steaks was such a surprising and fun touch. Now on to the food. We ordered the Pepper Steak and the Steak Diane and shared bites of each. Both dishes were excellent and we loved the presentation of them. I think they should change their steak menu. None sound very good. My boyfriend tried the one with mango chutney and we both disliked it. It had nothing to do with the chef in our opinion. So 26 years later we finally make it back to the Peppertree which all those years ago was our favorite anniversary spot. Married for 32 years, we decided to give it a go to see if it remained a special place. For years, I have attempted to recreate the dish minus all of the flare and rich flavors on our grills. We were impressed with the restaurant and how fantastic it still looked and we always love the outstanding view of Colorado Springs. We booked our reservation through OpenTable and set the time for 6:30. We arrived a bit earlier than planned but the staff was accommodating and seated us immediately giving us the choice of three tables. After we sat down, we picked out a fantastic bottle of red wine and enjoyed the amazing culinary smells. We decided to go with our favorite the 6oz Pepper steak served with a salad and side of your choice. We both opted to try the Dill Vinaigrette which was superb and unlike anything I have had before. The fresh dill took the salad over the top. And I forgot to mention the bread that we were served before the bottle of wine arrived! Soft in the middle with a great crunch and my wife asked for butter which came out soft and warm. The service was perfect - never felt rushed and never felt like we were being watched. The staff had such amazing synchronicity and teamwork that made the night even more special. The table side cook on our steaks was also fun to watch as Rob delivered the perfect cook to my wife's well done filet. The filet was just as amazing as I remembered could cut it with a spoon!! The flavor of the mango chutney and the fresh cracked pepper sure made the dish of course the basting in butter didn't hurt ;) The baked potato side we ordered loaded with butter, cheese, bacon, sour cream and chives. There was nothing left at meals end. Then just when we thought we were done the staff served us an ice cream Sunday to celebrate our special anniversary event. When we finally departed for our hotel, we were waiting for our Uber when the owner, Max asked us how everything was and we explained how we made memories from the 90's with amazing dinners. He was super excited to hear our feedback and offered us a ride if we needed one. We already have decided that we will be back again! read more

This was an amazing experience all around! We arrived earlier than our reservation so we sat at the bar and enjoyed a cocktail with Tyler, the bartender. We got sat earlier than our time slot which was nice and we had a great view out the windows. The service was impeccable and we were never waiting. While sitting we got to see a mama deer and two babies walk by and even enjoyed some fireworks. The drinks were great and so was the food. Chef Jake was amazing with everything he prepared and put out to our table. The table side cooking was such a nice a fun touch. Our plates were perfectly timed out to where again, we were never waiting! We will definitely be traveling back to Colorado Spring just to eat here again. Outstanding food and service. When you drive up to the underwhelming outside of the restaurant, your nose will pick up a delicious aroma wafting on the air! Once inside, you will see a newly remodeled 18 table main room and a cute 7 seat bar nestled into a cute wine display room. Service was excellent with a knowledgeable team. Wonderful shrimp cocktail appetizer with outstanding homemade cocktail sauce. We enjoyed the table prepared pepper filet, a wet aged bone in ribeye, delicious dill/cucumber and blue cheese salads, and augratin and baked potatoes that came with the meal. Pro tip: order the ribeye with sauce on the side. I couldn't believe the flavor of this meat. It rivaled every dry aged ribeye I've had in the past. We also enjoyed a side of Bernaise sauce. Cherries jubilee was prepared table side along with creme Brule. Chef John stopped by our table, and we learned a little bit about The Peppertree remodeling. Don't judge this book by its cover! I was visiting my parents last week , and they decided to go to this restaurant for dinner. My steak was cooked to perfection. My parents felt the same about their entrées. My father really enjoyed the lobster bisque. The service was excellent. All entrées were served at the same time. The noise level was perfect. Even got the wine breathing so we were ready to drink it with our meal. The caesar salad was made table-side, garlicky and so damn good. PepperTree Restaurant is a great place to dine for a special occasion or an upscale dining experience. They have a great menu and a lot of the dishes are cooked tableside. I started my meal with the seared scallops on a bead of Thai chili sauce. My aunt reconsider of the Chateaubriand (pan seared center cut filet mignon) for two, with a baked potato and vegetable medley. For dessert I ordered Apple pie à la mode. His meal was outstanding from start to finish. The Chateaubriand was cooked table side and flambéed (cooked with liquor and set it alight briefly), which provided an amazing dinning experience. This is a great local and upscale restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special dining experience or special occasion. Went here for valentines dinner right after we got married. We both got the table side pepper steak with scalloped potatoes and an appetizer of escargot. The scalloped potatoes and escargot were to die for. So flavorful and perfect. Was not a fan of the sweet fruit compote stuff they put on top of our steaks. We prefer our steak savory and flavorful. Because we were celebrating getting married that day, they didn't charge us dessert (chocolate cake). Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. Will definitely return. read more

Came here to celebrate a birthday dinner and the whole experience was amazing! We made reservations for 5:45pm and ended up getting there half an hour early and they were able to accommodate us, no problem. The waiter at the front took our coats and we were seated shortly after. They gave us some bread with butter while perusing their drink and food menu. They have a really nice collection of beer, wine, cocktails, whiskey, etc. I ordered the 8oz. Pepper Steak with the fully loaded baked potato. The steak is cooked right in front of you next to your table. I'm amazed by the waiters who are dressed all fancy and are able to cook our food without making a mess on themselves. Wow this restaurant was amazing. The service from the staff was top notch. As soon as we entered they ask if they could take our coats. All the servers and cooks were super friendly. The team work is great! Everything we ordered was delicious. By far the best restaurant in Colorado Springs (we have been to flying horse, cowboy and prime25). We have never experienced steak prepared table side and we were floored with how good and buttery the steak was, my husband ate it in minutes haha. Both desserts were tasty! Because I'm gluten free they brought me special bread. I love that they did this but it had no flavor even with butter. The cart with the cooking supplies has current jelly on it. It was a wonderful addition to my bread. I hope they supply it in the future. I ordered the sole with veggies. The sole was amazing! Or the sauce on the sole was amazing. Veggies were ok. Summer squashes, an onion chunk, and an orange pepper slice. The onion was the best. A celebration requires dessert. We ordered the cherries flambé. Very good but a bit sweet for my taste.
