3 stars. Stopped in around 6:00 on a Tuesday evening. We were really craving breakfast food and drinks, and this place met all the criteria. The restaurant itself is in an older building, but there's a ton of seating up front and even more in the back -- it's pretty large once you walk through and see how big it is, so getting a table shouldn't be an issue. There's also reserved parking behind the building, so if you don't see anything on the street, head around back. Service was fast and friendly, and our waiter did a great job. French toast -- my wife's pick. She said it was solid -- probably not the best she's ever had, but good. Pancakes -- came out hot, fluffy, fresh, and very large. Probably eight or nine inches in diameter. Two eggs over hash (+ country gravy) -- super good. I'd recommend adding the gravy to your hash, or getting it on the side so you can add a little at a time -- it's pretty heavy and dense, and there was enough of it that I had to sift through to get to my hash and eggs. Heads up: I underestimated how large their plates are. Once all the food came out, it was clear we weren't finishing it. Coffee drinks -- the biggest letdown of the evening. My wife got her regular cappuccino and couldn't even finish it. I ordered an iced coffee drink with whiskey and Kahlúa in it, and it just wasn't good -- I don't know what the balance was supposed to be, but I'd 100% not order it again. They have a lot of alcoholic coffee drinks on the menu and I sifted through them thinking this one looked like the best of the bunch. Would not recommend it. The other thing was karaoke night. I enjoy karaoke, but I wasn't expecting it -- it wasn't going when we sat down and started up about thirty minutes later, and we were fairly close to the singers. It was loud, and karaoke talent is always hit or miss. This was mostly a miss. Not what we were in the mood for at that moment. Pro tip: Come for the breakfast, skip the coffee drinks -- and know that a weeknight evening might land you in the middle of karaoke. In general, this is a great place to go for breakfast, and I'd highly recommend it for that. I'd return if I wanted a nice breakfast meal, morning or evening. read more

This was our first time visiting with family and friends, and it certainly will not be our last. We began with the Bloody Marys, which were exceptional. For our main courses, we ordered the Chicken and Waffles, the breakfast burrito, the grilled cheese sandwich, and the French toast. Every dish was beautifully prepared, flavorful, and offered excellent value for the price. Furthermore, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout our meal. Came here after visiting the German market on a cold day and loved our food! There was no wait to be seated, open seating and they treated us quickly and kept our waters full! One thing that disappointed us was the menu we got was drastically smaller than the one on the website so maybe it was just for the weekend but we were excited to try stuff that wasn't available at that time. I chose the bbq bacon burger and it was amazing! The meat cooked perfectly, still pink in the middle and tender. The bbq sauce was so good and paired well with the bacon! Mother Muff's has an awesome vibe. I really dig the bar/pub and size of the place. I ordered the Monte Cristo with spicy raspberry sauce. I have never had a Monte Cristo before and it was a hit bomb...which I would expect from a deep fried sandwich. It was good...but greasy. We wanted a good burger and their menu looked interesting. Free parking in the back was nice as most places in this area isn't. The historic brick building is cool. You get several different areas in this bar. The large front room was being used for trivia. We went in deeper and it was more of a sports bar lots of tvs and cheering. Then below were pool tables and I believe shuffle board but we didnt explore it. We sat in a small cozy wooden booth that looked like a relic kind of cool. Hubby got the donut Burger which was amazing. I had an open faced spicy pepper type of burger. Both with sweet potato fries and very good. Fun place. read more

Fantastic lunch date with awesome wife! What made it even better we were waited on by our favorite server, Jason! Have not been to Mother Muff's in a while so we were definitely looking forward to it. We started with the house Bloody Mary with the upgrade to their vodka infused with poblano. As always, the Bloody Mary was fantastic. We split the Mama's Boy burger with habanero jack cheese and lettuce, tomato and pickle and a side of fries. I ordered the fried ravioli. It was pretty crowded for a Saturday but service was fairly fast. The ravioli was very tasty filled with a ricotta blend and warm marinara. A very nice helping for sure ten pieces... We also ordered a Springs Lite beer which on tap is one of my favorite lite craft brews! The burger was perfectly executed. My wife loves well done with no pink. And there was no pink and not overcooked like a hockey puck. Jason is top notch and makes eating at Mother Muff's fun. We will be back sooner and will enjoy more great food and drink! read more

Such a cool spot in the Old City. Very old building that used to be a post office I believe. They have breakfast all day and an amazing variety of dishes for any palate. I chose the Queen of Tenderloins because my friend recommended it. Be ready, this thing is massive. Very good but needed some ranch on the side to balance it out. Waitress was great and very fast. My husband is from Colorado Springs and we were in town visiting for the weekend. We always go to the same 1-2 places for brunch but decided to try something new with his family this time. I've heard that Mother Muffs has been around for a long time, so I was excited to finally try it! The inside feels like you're in an old saloon with the plank floors, dim lighting, huge wooden mantle above the bar, and overall rustic feel. The main room is big but there's even more space as you go further back in the restaurant. They have a lot of good options on their menu but what really captured my attention was their specialty flavors of bacon! I went with the bumpkin bacon skillet with green chile slather and jalapeño bacon. The skillet came out with hashbrowns and eggs covered in the green chile sauce and the thick bacon pieces laid across the top. The green chile sauce was delicious, very flavorful but not too spicy. The spice came from the jalapeño bacon which was amazing! I wish I knew how to make flavored bacon at home because I easily could've eaten a whole plate of that by myself. Their peppered bacon sounded great too, I'll have to try that one next time. The service was good, food came out quickly, and our waitress was really sweet. We didn't notice the kids menu and tried ordering some sides of food for our baby, then our waitress let us know we could order a kid's meal instead to save some money which was very kind. Just know they are not allergen friendly in any way. They have a vegan sausage. But, that is it. I asked them to make my hash browns with oil instead of butter and the waitress said they were too busy for that. They even tell you on their sign to ask questions about allergies. I do not feel it was an unreasonable request to simply use oil instead of butter. I have to adjust what I get most of the time. I did not ask for a special meal or anything. I was just disappointed. I truly believe every place should have a way to make their customers feel valued. I can't have gluten. Dairy or eggs. Yes. That's my personal problem. Our server, Dylan, appeared unusually anxious and jittery throughout our visit, which raised concerns about his well-being. Additionally, despite requesting corrections multiple times, my order was not prepared correctly. While I understand that mistakes can happen, having to address the same issue repeatedly was frustrating and negatively affected our dining experience. This gem has been a mainstay in Old Colorado City forever. First of all, the building is supercool, with old wood, stained glass, exposed brick, historic photos, and oddities like the old timey wall of post office boxes that we sat next to. Our server came over right away, was friendly and fast. It was lunch time, but they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day long. Frankly, I'm disappointed. My mother and father in law were in town for my wife's college graduation. I recommended this spot because we are frequent customers but wow did they drop the ball. I don't even know where to start. Initial service was awesome, but rapidly went downhill. 3/5 of our tables food was wrong ( they didn't screw up 2 pizzas). I sent food back, and wrong again. And when it was delivered the second time it was ice cold. Not just the buffalo chicken sandwich, but the fries as well and was wrong again. Finally got a piece of American cheese I asked for 20 minutes later and basically had to beg for anything extra (ranch, onions,crushed red pepper). The major screw up was when I accompanied my daughter to the bathroom. As I stood and waited to make sure she was ok, it got worse. All I could hear was the kitchen staff talking insane smack about people having issues with orders that they had jacked up with wild profanity. I'm no saint, but the level of unprofessionalism was wild. Talk that smack, but at least don't let patrons hear it. I mean, how hard is it to be a fry cook? Maybe that's what unskilled 40 year olds do. SpongeBob would have been disappointed even in a place like this. Not even sure we will be back. Especially after a hefty (90$) tab with food comped. You seat yourself when you walk in and we were lucky to find a table since it was pretty busy. Our waiter was polite and gave us some suggestions. Wichita is always a great server/host! He greeted us and invited us to sit wherever we wanted. We chose a table in the bar area, although all the tables near the windows were already in use. We arrived just after opening, and there were all ready several groups seated. Wichita took our drink order and then gave us a few minutes to peruse the menu. My husband had the Veghead Omelette with fruit while I had the Extreme BLT with a side salad for an up charge. The tea came quickly and was fresh fruit and delicious! That's one of our favorite things and ways we determine if we will return to a restaurant! My salad came out first and was huge and lovely! Well worth the up-charge. The rest of our food followed very soon after. My extreme BLT was gigantic and I could only finish half of it. There is so much bacon, you have to stuff it back as it tries to fall out. My husband's omelette was delicious and the fruit was fresh. Now that spring time is here, we can ride our bikes again, and this will be on our regular rotation of brunch spots! read more

It's a late dinner ~8pm, the review is but food was so bad. Tomato basil soup - tasted like can soup with lot of salt. Google says they open at 10am and as we're walking to the door, Anna met up on the other side unlocking the door. She greeted us warmly. She got our drink orders quick and brought it out quick so we appreciated that since it was snowing outside. We got there early so parking on the street was not bad and I think the snow helped us. Anna would come check on us and topped off my husband's coffee so we cannot complain there. I ordered a stuffed strawberries and cream French toast and let's just say.... It was really toasted that it leaves a bitter burnt aftertaste. I finished it and I guess it's partly my fault for not sending it back but I don't like confrontation. The hash browns were nice and crispy on the outside and soft and piping hot on the inside. My husband got the nana short stack (2 pancakes) with what seems like a banana foster on top and that was delicious. It was a crispy caramelized banana and we got a side of veggie sausage. The veggie sausage was crispy on the outside and mushy on the inside (it's a veggie sausage so there's really no other texture on the inside) and it was ok. We had a Cinnabon to go and the frosting was on the side which is nice, but the Cinnabon was soooooo dry and hard. Even after being reheated in the microwave the Cinnabon was like a dry loaf of bread. Doesn't have that buttery cinnamon filling. The frosting wasn't bad-not too sweet and not too thick... almost like a whipped butter frosting. The coffee was I think Folgers so not bad either. Anna was so sweet and nice it was nice interacting with someone so happy. read more

Popular and busy tavern and restaurant in the Old Colorado City area of the Springs. The building is rich with history, i'm guessing the building itself is well over 100 years old. The family and I stopped in for a late afternoon lunch and the front entrance area was 75% seated. If you walk towards the restroom area, there is more seating, another bar and pool tables in a split level type of setup. The walls are decorated with vintage nudie paintings as well as some modern nude paintings. A very nice touch. I had to try the Jiffy Burger, which was served on a fresh brioche bun slathered in peanut butter, and the patty was topped with cheese and your choice of thick cut flavored bacon. I went with the honey, but wished I had tried the jalapeno. Either way the burger was surprisingly delicious, just like the menu stated. The meat was prepared at the temp I requested and you can choose if you want all the burger fixings on the side or just omit them all together. I chose the beer battered fries for my side which were also tasty and well seasoned. Try the "Jiffy" you will not be disappointed. Mother Muff's serves breakfast all day, which is a nice bonus, and the portions of food are very generous and prices are reasonable. We were a little grossed out by the dirty cup that our drink was first served in and a family of flies buzzing around our table. Otherwise I would have given them a slightly higher rating but for me I just can be complacent with filth. Enjoy!!! read more

I used to frequent mother muffs and would bring everyone I knew, to this location. One of my favorite things was the half price mimosas on Sundays! We went in on this past Sunday and we each ordered 3 mimosas with the knowledge that they were half off. The website (to this day) lists the "idle hours" and it was also on the physical menu. We get our bill to find out we have been charged full price. We ask why and were told "mother muffs is under new ownership as of a few months ago, we aren't honoring that anymore and our menus aren't updated"... I can understand if this change happened a day ago and nothing was updated but a few months.... Hmm. We were never told about them not doing the "idle hours" anymore and we were still charged full price for all drinks except for 3. Overall still over charged ~$10-15. We had an unexpected delay elsewhere and came in to have a place to sit and wait. Ended up ordering lunch. Everything was fantastic! Comfortable seating, attentive and friendly and fast service (and they were extremely busy--quite impressive). I had a Bloody Mary with poblano vodka and a BLT. The cocktail was quite good--came w lemon, lime, green olive, and celery. The BLT was what wowed me, though--lots of thick, crisp, lightly sweet bacon, generous amount of lettuce and tomato, on warm and lightly crispy Texas toast (I skipped the mayo and was so happy they got my order correct). It was large enough for 2 meals, fries were greasy and delicious. Husband had a fried chicken sandwich which he was happy with. Loved the music and the relaxed vibe. read more

We sat at the bar and ordered the mozzarella sticks, which lived up to their hype and looked exactly like the other pics posted here. Everyone around us were entranced by our dish, so we happily shared (they're HUGE!) and then someone else down the way ordered the fried mushrooms, which were also enormous, and fortunately that person shared as well and they were even better than the mozzarella sticks! I was pleasantly amazed by this restaurant. As my hub and I were stolling down the sidewalk looking at shops, we sort of fell into Mother Muffs. The architecture blew my mind. Absolutely adore all the stained glass doors and windows. The bar is very cool, a madmax of the 70s feel. The vertical ceiling fans above the bar adds so much personality to an already cool bar. The bartender was as sweet as could be. We ordered the green chili fries as a appetizer, then veggie pizza and chicken tenders with fries as our meals.
