Love this place ! The square pizza with cheese on the bottom is my favorite, portnoy reviewed the round cheese on the bottom but I think the square is tastier and a better value. You can't get a better sandwich anywhere, the triple threat is my favorite! I had the regular Neapolitan recently and was surprised how good it was , definitely a nice change of pace from the other area pizza choices. Quality ingredients make the difference!

Today was the third time I've been to Peppino's. I initially heard about them on One Bite. Luckily, I go to Chalfont periodically for work. When I'm in town, I grab a pie. I enjoyed all the pies I've gotten there, but I'm particular to the Grandma Pie. Toppings and cheese combo are great., Crust is perfect. I like it better than most of the pies I've gotten in Manhattan and Brooklyn. I highly recommend.

Since our first visit my wife has been hooked. She talks about needing her "Pepinos Fix" every week. The owners are very accommodating and the service is on point with their fresh made to order pizzas and sandwiches. I need to start exploring the rest of the menu but the old fashioned is so good I keep ordering. Ambiance is your standard pizza place, a few tables, mostly take out orders but we always eat in with a bottle of course. Best pizza I've found in the buxmont area. Order early on the weekends! Sometimes they're so busy they stop taking orders!!!!!

Disappointed. Order a half pep/half plain. Sent me a full Cold/reheated pizza that at one time was full pepperoni. They just picked off half of the topping and threw it in the other side. The whole thing tasted like pep. Surely your cook had to know this was a bad idea.? Pizza tasted like it had sat around, then they threw it back in the oven, pulled some toppings off and called it day. Every pizza should be made fresh, every order. But Won't be coming again to find out. Yuck.

I had been a happy customer before Dave Portnoy stopped by and blew this place up in popularity, which I'm cheering for your continued success. But customers need to be treated with respect too. Don't think we don't notice the things you're doing that reduced the food quality. I hope this review will make you reconsider your approach. The pizzas start getting smaller and smaller after the 7.8 score. How do I know? It's a 16in pizza box (see pic attached). The pizza (Grandma's pie), advertised as 16", used to fit snuggly in the box, now it's just floating in there. It's now like 14". I gave the benefit of the doubt at first due to the sudden influx of new customers, but this continues to happen a few more times. Also, very recently, there is a 4% service fee added to the final bill (see receipt attached). I ordered takeout, so I'm not sure what's this service fee is. Lastly, the quality has been impacted as well. More specifically, the amount of mozzarella cheese on each slice is way less. Go and look at some of the Grandma's pie pictures on Peppinos Instagram and from other reviews and compare it to what I received. The pizzas pre-Portnoy did look like the Instagram pic, but I guess not anymore, which makes me feel quite sad. I know you can still make the old Grandma's pie because I've seen you put the un-skimped, good-looking Grandma's pie on display when I walked in to pick up my supposedly same pizza. I'm ok with you increasing the price due to high demand, but this sneaky approach is not cool. I hope to support you again in the future, but probably not anytime soon.

They use Liscio's rolls so that's a plus. Their meat taste good so another plus. They put romaine on the hoagie...what is that? It's not horrible by any means, but I would try something else next time in the area. The hoagie was way out of proportion with the bread to meat/cheese to vegetables. Towards the end it felt like all that was there was the roll....and again, they're Liscio's so it could've been worse.

As someone fluent in sandwich, Peppino's speaks to me. My boyfriend, who reigns from Philly and is just as much of a foodie (if not more so), dragged me here on our visit back to his hometown. His hype did not disappoint. The secret to a sublime sandwich is wedged in its bread, and the seeded Italian rolls here deliver memorable freshness that force you to reminiscence DAYS after your meal...perhaps even weeks, but we're going back again tomorrow (per my request), so I needn't wonder. I ordered the Tuna Sandwich--the one without dairy--with all the fix'ns, and was a happy camper. They catered to my strange pescavegan dietary preferences, and didn't screw up my order with cheese nor mayo. My boyfriend went with The Triple Treat, and was just as stoked as he was growing up. Even after my experiences in Northern and Southern California, Oregon, NYC, and more recently, North Carolina, this place left me speechless. Literally. My bf felt flustered by the blustery winds when we tried to eat at a nearby park on outdoor picnic tables (see the background gang signs in posted picture: he was trying to keep our food from blowing away), but I shushed him while I stuffed my face. This is one of the few times in my life I've been quiet. Enough said. I resume salivating over tomorrow's order.

Stopped into Peppino's on a Thursday around lunch time. We tried the cutlet Italian sandwich and the Buffalo cutlet - both were outstanding. The bread and the cutlets are top notch. We met the owner who was nice enough to give us tomato pie to try which was also delicious - sauce was out of this world good! Definitely recommend stopping in. The location is in a convenient, small shopping plaza.

i decided to try a different pizza place in the area, so I ordered a sausage pizza from Peppino's. Reviews were mostly excellent. My pizza was ready when I ordered it. After going to my car I looked at the pizza and saw there was only a single small slice of sausage on each pizza slice. i went back in, thinking that this was just a mistake, and that it would be rectified. The two young girls working that night looked at me like I was out of my mind when I asked if it was typical to only put a single piece of sausage on each slice of a sausage pizza. For $20, i was expecting more! In addition, Pizza fell apart when I sliced it and transferred it to my plate. read more

I don't routinely leave reviews, but this place absolutely deserves one. The food is so delicious and amazing. Their tomato pie (we get the square thin and crispy, and while it is definitely not a thick crust, it's not paper-thin, either) is so addicting. The sauce is super light yet sweet and tangy - it's not heavy and oily, like some other tomato pies. But the true superstars in our opinion are the SANDWICHES. Oh my God, the sandwiches. It's like you're in the Italian Market. Their bread has sesame seeds, and is firm enough to hold everything together, without getting soggy whatsoever. The eggplant parm is the best I've ever had, and the buffalo chicken cutlet sandwich is NOT to be missed!! Hot sandwiches for delivery often end up wet and messy and soggy and not really that great, but not these. They don't over-sauce them - they're done perfectly. Their Italian sandwiches are also really good - love the sharp provolone. As a plus, they have STOCK'S pound cake - sooo much more convenient than driving to Port Richmond and waiting in line forever. In an unassuming strip mall, this small family-owned business is not one to pass by! read more

This place has the best hoagies and sandwiches in the area! The original Italian is one of the top two hoagies I have ever had (along with White House Subs Atlantic City NJ). I have eaten dozens of hoagies in Philly area so this is quite a compliment. My wife and I loved the chicken parm and chicken caprese. Top notch! The bread is exceptional, fresh crusty, seeded Sarcone's type roll. We have not yet tried their pizzas, so I can't rate them. This is our go to sandwich place! read more

Obviously, in these tragic days of required isolation, determining the nature of the restaurant service other than takeout is not possible. Fortunately, when strained to its most important item, the food, take out tells us exactly how good the restaurant is. We only had one item, the Grandmother's Pizza Pie. And we are only sorry that it is gone. The balance of crust, tomatoes, paste, and basil was simply excellent. And unlike other reviewers, I have created more than one post and will revise this one if need be after trying other items from this restaurant. Tomato Pies (aka pizza) were ok, the traditional with cheese on the bottom and the white broccoli were both better than the grandma pizza which was surprisingly salty and not great. The sandwiches were very good, we had an Italian beef and an Italian pork. However the Italian pork was super spicy and I didn't expect that or see it anywhere in the description. Finally, price was fair for what you get. 3 pizzas and 2 sandwiches for $83 feels expensive to me, but so does everywhere. Main reason why I am giving 3 stars instead of 4 is that they forgot the pepperoni on our cheese on the bottom pizza, yet I was charged for it. read more

So glad I found this place! Discovered it about a month ago and have been there 5-6 times already. Consistent, high-quality food every time. Unique menu compared to the other pizza shops in the area. Owners and staff are all nice and friendly/welcoming. Planning to try more menu items, but these have been my favorites thus far. - Old Fashion Cheese on the Bottom Pie Square - crisp and light to eat, and sauce has great flavor. They keep in warm in the oven and wait to slice it until you arrive, which helps keep it fresh. - Meatball Parmigiano - Cutlet Italian - Stocks Pound Cake - this is a favorite in my family and it's good to have a local place with supply. read more

While I consider myself a pizza connoisseur, I rarely leave reviews but plan to going forward as I've been inspired for the first time in a while. I've visited pizzerias all over Pennsylvania and NJ searching for the perfect slice. Someone raved about Peppino's on FB, which I somehow didn't know was only about 15 minutes away from me. I immediately planned to check it out. My first test is usually a classic slice. It didn't disappoint. The sauce is amazingly fresh and flavorful. The choice of tomatoes must be what makes it standout. It's one of the best slices I've had since moving to PA 14 years ago. I returned with my family a few days later for lunch as we needed to be out of our home for a few hours. We had the tomato pie with cheese on the bottom which truly allows you to appreciate the wonderful freshness of the sauce. The other great part is that the owners were so very accommodating and friendly. We rolled in with my 2 girls and son who has special needs. They could not have been nicer, which always adds to the experience. I give Peppino's 7.5 slices out of 8. Looking forward to returning! read more

A friend suggested this pizza so we tried the Old Fashion Square Tomato pie. It was spot on for traditional tomato pies-reminded me of pizza I grew up on as a kid. The sauce had a wonderful rich flavor, topped with just the right amount of Locatelli cheese, with a thin crust which was light, yet firm enough to hold the sauce (we added extra sauce and mushrooms), and the crust was not mushy at all and held the toppings well...no droopy cuts. We can't wait to try some of Peppino's other menu options. Highly recommend trying this place. We will be back for sure! read more

We just ordered a square pizza with meatballs and it was FANTASTIC!! We really enjoy their tomato pies but thought we would switch it up tonight. We were not disappointed. The crust is perfection, the sauce is the best I have ever had. Customer service is the great. I love this place!!! read more

When I was kid growing up in Philly we used to get Tomato Pie from a place called Scalea's. It was my favorite that we used to bring to all family parties. This reminds me of that! I really enjoyed it and plan on returning. It was served at room temperature (which is the correct way!) and perfect on such a scorching hot day! read more

This is my favorite place to order sandwiches and strombolis from! The people there are the best and the food is so well priced for large, fresh, and delicious portions. We order from there all the time at work! Try it! My favorite is the Turkey BLT grinder or the stromboli but I do love their tomato pies and their Meatball Parms/Italian Hoagies as well! I have yet to be disappointed there. read more

Established in 2019.

Eddie and Keeley began their relationship when they met 13 years ago in a restaurant surrounded by food. Ed has 35+ years of experience in the restaurant industry while Keeley has worked 20 + years in the social service profession. During that time their relationship has been centered around good food and serving. For a time, due to their common interest in food and service, they participated in a monthly free lunch program in Philadelphia. They planned and prepared meals for low income, homeless, and drug/alcohol addicted residents within the Kensington community. They passed along their combined love of food and service to their children. Recently, Eddie and Keeley were able to make their dreams come true and have purchased Peppino's Tomato Pies. They have worked closely with Maureen and Joe Pallante, previous owners of Peppino's, sharing their common desire to maintain the traditions originally set by the Pallante family; high quality ingredients and friendly service.

The size of the sides are probably both worth the $6.50 on their own. The fries were your basic fries - probably frozen but good. The plain twins were fried nicely and had good flavor - I would have loved a dipping sauce with them. Now since the place is known for their chicken I wanted to try something with chicken. Well they had empanadas (not sure if this is always on the menu) and you could get 3 for $12 with a sauce. We did each of the 3 flavors they had available: Huachana Empanada (this is the house made Salchicha which is a Peruvian sausage w/ eggs), ham & cheese , and the chicken . The sauce I picked to go with them was their signature sauce - the aji pollo. The sauce I have never tasted anything like it - definitely interesting. The chicken empanada was very plain. The chicken definitely did have a unique flavor but was a little dry in the empanada - it was apparently cooked with the same sauce. The ham and cheese was my favorite - I loved the cooper sharp with the ham. The sausage also had a great spice! As for the sandwich the chicharron was cooked so well paired with the sweet potato and pickled onions it gave it a nice balance of sweet and salty as well as different textured bites. I will say overall that most of the items on the menu were a tad dry and could use a sauce or something - however overall the flavor was great. Everything came to $40 which wasn't bad. The restaurant was super clean inside, they had a few tables but we got takeout. It also looked like they served coffee and a few other things. Their online order menu definitely has more items listed than the regular menu. I definitely do want to go back and try the rotisserie chicken on its own with some other sides! Growing up in Olney Phila we had a great pizzeria called Peppino's. I tried Peppino's in Chalfont. I first tried the Italian Hoagie. It had a great roll with crisp crust, great meat and cheese flavors definitely top quality. I would prefer more oil and vinegar slightly dry to me. The second visit I tried the Triple Treat again incredible taste and texture even better than the Italian which I loved. I bought a slice of the square Fresh Mozzarella pizza to take home. After putting in the toaster oven for a short time the crust was perfectly baked and Thin and Crispy plus the dough had a rich flavor. Sauce was like I remember from the best Italian Pizzerias from the 60's, 70's. The Mozzarella and Basil balanced right completes the great taste. Buon Appetito! Just opened Lucky Central Bucks County and Montgomeryville to have this place and this guy near you. Go try and taste a few things. The real deal. Taste and see that the food is good! The seeded roll was fresh, warm and soft for the hot roast pork Italiano. Perfect slight crunch on the outside from the oven. I also tried the tomato pie with fresh mozzarella and basil. I am born and raised south Philly Italian and what you would call a "food addict". This is the closest thing I've tasted to home in a long time. The chicken cutlet Pallante was awesome, you can tell it's a homemade cutlet. Hate when I go to a place that claims "homemade" food and then they hand you a chicken finger on a roll, ew.
