    Description of hummus
    Sandy S.

I ordered the Israeli salad, it's not finely chopped. Their stock photo is soooooo misleading. Also ordered the hummus, it has olives and onions in it. That was not in their description. Was not expecting that. I'm not a huge fan of olives. I wouldn't have ordered that if it was in the description. Sadly disappointed

Small goat cheese salad. Really good!

Got mozzarella sticks and a goat cheese salad and both were great. Their salad sizes are really generous - the small salad would be considered large in other places. Everything was fresh and delicious. Loved their marinara sauce - savory, not too sweet, perfect. Would def try this place again.

A piece of broken glass found in the calzone.

I have been ordering takeout from Palermo's in Lansdale once to twice a week for over a year now. I've noticed the quality and consistency of the food has gone downhill the past couple of months. Tonight was my final push when I ordered a cheese steak calzone, halfway into the calzone I bite down on something hard and sharp to find a piece of glass about the size of a dime in the calzone. This could have been dangerous, how do you allow a broken piece of glass get mixed into the calzone? Way too many other pizza shops to choose from in the area. You have lost a good customer.

    Avocado salad w/ chicken.

Palermo's is located in a little shopping center in Lansdale. My sister wanted to order take out from here today so was stopped by super quick to grab salads. For a pizza shop, Palermo's is super clean and the staff was friendly. Their avocado salad is too awesome. I ordered the large and it definitely was a hearty salad. Also the dressing that came w/ it was great. Super light, but favorable. We were in and out within ten minutes and I would definitely came back the next time I'm around this area!

My family and I ordered a Sicilian pizza on Wednesday August 26 and it was the best pizza.

Always a great place for pizza and pasta! Particularly like their salads (huge) and their paninis. If in Lansdale you need to eat here!

Photo is misleading. The grandma pizza referenced is not what you get. It's a round personal prized pizza!

Very good salads. I recommend the Palermo salad. Always fresh. The goat cheese salad was good too.

I've only ever gotten take-out pizza from here so I'm not sure about other menu items, but it's definitely my go-to pizza place in Lansdale!

The important thing though, is that I finally went there today and got a cheesesteak with fried onions. The first thing I did when I got home was weigh it. 2.3 lbs of cheesesteak goodness. Naturally, the enormity of the thing comes at a cost: $19.10 out the door. Being honest, I don't know what started this trend of "more food than you can possibly eat", but it's "a thing" now, so what can you do? Buy it, and share or save half for later. But, back to the steak. I'd say the closest competitor that I'm aware of would be High Steaks in Ambler, but in terms of meat to cheese ratio and flavor, I'm giving Verona the edge. In fact, I'd say it's the best or tied with the best cheesesteak I've ever eaten, and I'm old - so that's saying a lot. So we've got a great a steak that will easily serve two, a friendly staff, and prices within the realm of what you'd expect for August 2026. In addition to those tangible things, I take some joy in seeing that the choke hold once around the wallets of locals by that other place that shares it's name with it's location, has finally been broken. Competition is a great thing, and when you're greeted with a smile and a "thank you" that accompanies your order, that makes a huge difference, and is very refreshing. Overall: Delicious cheesesteak, friendly service, and they seem to appreciate that you're giving them your business. That's an A+ in my book.

I pity the fool who tries to finish this sandwich in one sitting. I'm estimating about 5 - 7 pounds of meaty goodness. Surprisingly well seasoned.

So I'm sitting there for a few and I'm like maybe they misunderstood and they thought I made a res for 6 people not at 6. So I went to clarify with the hostess. She understood and repeated the same thing. So we sat and waited a few more minutes before she had a change of heart and came out to tell us we could be seated now. We didn't leave for probably 45 minutes and not one more person came in. As soon as we sat down the hostess who was also the waitress came over and asked for our order. We of course we weren't ready. We just sat! She seemed frustrated and I was thinking wow this isn't going to be relaxing. The first thing I see on the menu is the sharing up charge. I hate that type of thing. I always like to do family style and share stuff. I want to try every thing if it's a good place. So we got an appetizer which clearly we were going to share. Luckily we did not get the share charge. The bread you get before your meal is so good. Fresh cut garlic and oil drizzled on it. You also get a side salad that was delicious. When they brought the calamari I tried moving the bread closer to me so the waitress(same as the hostess) could put the plate down. She grabbed the bread bowl from me and moved it to the other end of the table. When our actual meals came she couldn't wait to get our plates off the table. We really felt like we were an inconvenience. I thought maybe it was just a cultural thing. Or maybe she's just overworked since she was the hostess and waiting on 3 tables. Brought us boxes before we were finished our food. So we were like ok fine. We will just pack up. We were going to get desert but we decided let's just blow this popsicle stand and get something somewhere else. The food here is excellent. I would get take out again but I probably wouldn't suggest a dine in experience. Which is a shame. I don't even really like writing this critical of a review because I don't know what was going on in her life so maybe it was just the day.

I've moved quite a bit and learned that finding a good mechanic and pizza joint are essential. Still working on the mechanic, but definitely landed on a good pizza joint - Tony's. Are cash-only purchases inconvenient at times? Sure, but you should probably consider that all businesses that take cards pass those fees onto you. There are also some critics in these reviews that find the reception to be sometimes cold or even rude. My wife was of a similar opinion, at least initially, but now demands a veggie pizza weekly. The truth is, they have the best pizza in at least the 10 mile radius of North Wales. I know this because they go on vacation every year for the month of August and while, at first, I used this time to explore other pizza places to see what I was missing, I've never found a better place to get a pie.
