Wow! We were location scouting down the road and walked by this place. Intrigued, we opened the door a crack and peered in. Walking through the door is like going through a magical portal. The interior is imbued with a mix of warm toned woods, red Naugahyde leather, and stained glass pendant lights. The booths are spacious and comfortable. The service was impeccable: warm, courteous, friendly, and professional. The food, though we weren't able to try as many items as we wanted (we were actually not hungry when we peeked in the door) bur EVERYTHING we tasted was so delicious. The entire experience felt like coming home. It felt like slipping into your favorite slippers at the end of the day. It felt like all of the good things in life rolled into one. Will absolutely return - with an appetite! Honestly, every

An iconic institution with incredible authentic Italian food and an old school feel. Rich family history and even RICHER bolognese... my favorite neighborhood spot by far.

    Best pasta e fagioli ever!

After a beautiful day at The Getty I wanted to spoil my GF to an OG Italian meal. Peptone is not on OpenTable, nor when you call do they require your phone number or a credit card reservation. They just said thanks we'll see you then... call if your plans change. When we arrived I could see why no fuss. It was lovely and filled with loyal longterm patrons. It seems like everyone knew each other. Despite being newbies the entire staff treated us fabulously. It is expensive on first glance but for the impeccable food, wine & service it was on point! Everything we tried was well prepared and delicious. My pasta e fagioli was hearty, sweet and tangy and the crispy prosciutto added a special touch of excellence. My Veal Ossobuco was as it should be... super tender, flavorful and their marinara was sweet & tangy. My GF had a signature dish called Steak Sinatra. Filet Mignon cooked to order then was sliced and sautéed with peppers, onions and mushrooms in a light marinara sauce. She absolutely loved it! As a special treat, mine came with freshly made gnocchi, heavenly delightful. She has 2 glasses of exceptional wine that added to her wonderful experience. At the end it would be a waste not to go all in! Their Tiramisu was super creamy and was "perfect!" It's a wonderful piece of yesteryear, 50 years old! I'm so pleased we were able to experience the BEST of old school Italian close to home!

We absolutely love this local neighborhood gem. It is a classic Italian, extremely high quality delicious and wonderful spot. Whether it's for a date night, friend's outing, or any other occasion, Peppone makes you feel valued and at home. The interior is amazing - the stain glassed chandeliers above every table, along with flowers, makes you feel like you're at home in Italy. I recently went for an anniversary dinner - they treated us with tiramisu, sung to us, and gave us little champagne flutes of port wine. The food is absolutely tremendous. You're served complimentary garlic bread with marinara dipping sauce to start. We started with a fantastic Caesar salad. For our mains, we shared the cannelloni which is a must-get. The flavors are so rich, and the fresh pasta melts in your mouth. The vodka sauce with fusilli and sausage is delicious as well. There is ample parking in a little parking lot right in front, which you pay for during the day. Might be free at night, I'm not positive because we Ubered. The ONLY reason I'm knocking down a star is because of the pricing. I don't want to say that delicious, fresh, homemade pasta is overpriced because I do value the time and effort they put into the dish, but $40-45 per plate of pasta is astronomical. We will continue to come here because of how amazing it is, but have to save it for special occasions because of the price. If it were slightly lowered on the price, we would come much more often.

Hands down the most classic Italian place in Los Angeles. My family and I have been going here for over twenty years and it is always AMAZING. The staff, the ambiance, the food - everything is perfect. And insider tip, if you don't get the house gnocchi with Alfredo you are doing it wrong. I've never tasted a gnocchi as good as theirs. A must, must try!

From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and elegant. We were seated in the back area, which was stunning and provided the perfect setting for a relaxing family dinner. Our server, Beto, was exceptional. Friendly, genuine, attentive, personable, and welcoming, he made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. As parents of young children, we especially appreciated how quickly everything came out without sacrificing quality. The food was outstanding. I ordered the Laconda salad with salmon (on the side), which was incredibly fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. The special house made gnocchi with various cheeses was fresh and delightful. We also enjoyed a cheese pizza and the spaghetti and meatballs, both of which were delicious and expertly prepared. Every dish tasted authentic, fresh, thoughtful, and full of flavor. What stood out most was how effortless the entire evening felt. Great service, beautiful ambiance, and excellent food came together to create one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. Locanda Capri has firmly reclaimed its place as one of my favorite restaurants in the area. We left happy, impressed, and already looking forward to our next visit. * A special thank you to Beto for making our evening so enjoyable. The restaurant definitely needs noise buffering so patrons can carry on a conversation without having to talk loudly across the table to be heard. Felt almost cafeteria-ish. We won't be back because of this. When paying for a nice dinner, we expected for the surroundings to be enjoyable as well.

I really like that because it makes it a consistent date spot because the food is constantly changing and it's a new experience every time. The food itself was amazing because everything's handmade and farm-to-table. Everything is seasoned so nicely, presented, with super fresh quality ingredients. We got the brussels sprouts, prosciutto and arugula pizza, four cheese pizza, and the pasta with bolognese sauce +meatballs. The brussels sprouts was what came first.. appetizer! The outer layers of the brussels sprouts was mostly burnt, while the insides were pretty burnt. I can't blame them though, most restaurants can't do brussels sprouts perfectly. I always order brussels sprouts when I see them on a menu, but very few turn out to be very good. Also, be aware that Melo's go heavy on the vinegar on the brussels sprouts. The prosciutto and arugula pizza was a personal favorite, as I am a great fan of arugula.. gotta love that unique sesame taste! My only complaint is that there is not enough prosciutto in the pizza. I have no complaints for the four cheese pizza! It did not disappoint at all! The cheese is really rich and there's a cheese pull for each slice you pull out. Though a cheese pizza appears to be underwhelming, the four cheese pizza here at melo's is perfectly heavy, and you get a different taste from each bite of your slice! On the other hand, the bolognese sauce and meatballs were not bad, but nothing new. Though the add on of meatballs were 7.50$, we only get two meatballs! Pretty pricey to be, especially cause they're nothing special. Maybe even overcooked, cause they were unnecessarily dense. However, thank you Melo's for a generous amount of pasta sauce, and the consistency of the pasta is perfectly al dente. Melo's, not bad at all!
