Slow service at 5PM . No table cloths or cloth napkins it was bare tables and a napkin like a paper microfiber hard to tell. The tea was not clear it was cloudy. The waiter gave as a check for an amount of Less than $50 (1 glass of Prosecco, 1 salad and 1 calamari). I paid with $100 bill and the guy (with glasses) did not even ask if I needed some change. I approached the door and I was expecting him to say something but conveniently did not and did not turn his head towards us. Myself and my friend said bye (expecting an answer) but he pretended not to hear us. He probably was thinking of being entitled to an over $50 tip on a check for less than $50. I was disgusted by that way of behaving that if I was going to say something I was going to be very upset and decided of avoid a big discussion. Well no problem....keep the over 100% tip but you are not going to see us ever again. (First and last time). 6/20/26 It's our 17th Wedding Anniversary and I am in healthcare and I rarely get a weekend off let alone a Saturday. So My husband and I decided to do a night in and ordered the food to go we've had the food before and it was delicious He got the Chicken Piccata and I always get the Caesar. salad Calamari crab and shrimp ravioli. On this particular night Saturday My husband preorder the food for pick up after order totaled over 100$ so nothing would happen with door dash as it was a very special night He get back with the food I am ready my palate is expecting the same food and what received was not good at all making our anniversary uneventful The salad was all of maybe five or six pieces of small head of Romain lettuce chopped up one small crouton My clam chowder was salty very runny had no consistency to it The meatballs and spaghetti that my husband ordered had absolutely no flavor and he did not even finish the meal. The bread that we received was chewy it was not enjoyable The Ravioli made my stomach upset and overall made my anniversary evening into a night that I soon want to forget . I am glad I was not entraining and ordering for a group as I would be greatly embarrassed I just hope that the regular chef just had the weekend off as it was Father's Day because this was my favorite place as a San Francisco native but I am sure looking to find an alternative in the future so that another important date is not ruined . This meal was so not worth the 100$ that my husband paid for we were better going to Vic Stewart's for a more and a better experience for the occasion. Today evening I gave an order for Cioppino - seafood section & Vodka pasta on the phone & reconfirmed my order again to be sure... was told to come for pickup after 25 mins. When I picked my order & started to pay I saw my order was incomplete upon checking I was told they have only put in my pasta order... ( this is after reconfirming twice on phone while giving order) ... so very grudgingly I put in the order again for Cioppino & told to wait for another 15 to 20 mins ... I finished paying then very patiently told the manager about the order mishap... manager said he can't do anything except expedite the order since they are busy... very disappointing experience... Upon reaching home when I opened the container of Cioppino I saw there is no hint of crab & out of 4 mussels only 1 was opened ... 1 barely opened & the rest 2 was completely shut... I threw all the 3 mussels didn't wanted to take chances with my health... I am attaching pics so you can see for yourself. I have never seen any restaurant serving Cioppino like that... I don't know if the chef even noticed the dish or gave a final check before packing the item by the kitchen staff .... very disappointed... below is the detail description of the item ... didn't feel it was worth $42.95 at all.... After tasting the dish it was tasting like it was made in a hurry no flavors but the other seafood like shrimp & scallops were fresh but clams were mostly empty (no meat)... I didn't enjoy the dish at all. Cioppino - $ 42.95 Shellfish stew prepared with prawns, scallops, clams, crab meat, mussels, onion, basil, and garlic in our homemade cioppino sauce. Vodka pasta was good - 4/5 But my overall experience was very disappointing & wish they could have handled it more gracefully.... just to be clear I was not looking for any comp off but would have appreciated if the manager would have handled it more efficiently.... I completely support local businesses & I do understand times are tough for everyone especially restaurant but u can't tell your customer that restaurant is busy , kitchen is busy even I being a manager have to attend all the tables it's a busy night for us ... well I am happy to see ur restaurant is doing well & I do hope customer gets excellent customer service after all we all are paying with our hard earned money for a good meal & service. So thank you Chianti manager for expediting my missing order but failed to check if the dish made was correct.... Especially for a $42 item... will not choose to come during your busy time & would gladly choose business who understands customer service. Great service. Our waitress was really friendly. Gave us lots of suggestions on the menu and checked in on us. The ambiance is odd because some tables had a white table cloth but ours didn't. No big deal. For the food. The complimentary bread and olive oil want good. We started with the Bruschetta we had came in soft bread. Usually the bread is toasted. This was disappointing. I had the chicken parm and it was delicious. 2 large pieces of chicken, I had to take one to go, pasta on the bottom. The breading was crunch and tasty. I don't know if I would come back. read more

My first visit and definitely won't be my last. I was joining 2 great friends dinner. Nice selection on the wine list. I chose a glass of Wente Sauvignon Blanc. Lots of wonderful choices on the dinner menu too. I was in the mood for some fresh vegies and chose the Pasta Primavera. One friend chose Chicken Marsala and the other chose a shrimp scampi with past dish. Our food came out in a decent time...we had time to chat and catch up before we were served and our waiter attentive and checked on us and recognized that we wanted to visit and come up to us too often which was perfect. He also didn't harass us because we had sat at the table for about 2 hours. That was nice. My only issue was that my friend's dish, the chicken Marsala only came with the chicken that was on top of pasta, no side of vegies. It looked awkward. Visited quite a few times but after today, never again. After we got seated, we were handed menus and served waters, after that, the waitress never came back, we watched 2 tables seated after us get served immediately, while we waited and waited, after waiting over 20 minutes, we walked out, no need to have a discussion with the staff when they don't care to check in on you at all. When tables are served after we arrived, what's the point in discussing anything with the staff? The crazy part is the whole staff watched us walk out and didn't ask if anything was wrong, just stared as we walked out. Love Chianti's! We went on a random Saturday and didn't have to wait for a table at all. It was decently busy but not so much that you can't hear inside the restaurant. They have a lot of booths to choose from, which is nice. The menus have tons of options ranging from pasta to salad to seafood and more. We had the caprese salad to start. Scallop and Shrimp pasta , and Chicken Marsala. Both were quite tasty. For dessert we shared the crème brûlée , was good a little burned on top but underneath was creamy and sweet. Loved the inside of the restaurant, very clean and spaced nicely. The menu has consistently good quality food but they recently added pizza for dinner and I have to say, the crust is some of the best around. It is light, crispy and a perfect chew (obviously using quality flour) and the topping choices are divine! We love coming here for a glass of wine with dinner or even for a nice lunch. We have always loved the food and dishes served here which we had Doordash-ed. This time we went personally to get out to-go and found the place extremely cozy and absolutely loved the ambience with most friendly and unhurried wait staff!! We promised to return for having a dine-in meal (dinner) before this year ends! We took home the Blackberry Salmon which was very tasty and accompanied by fresh steamed veggies and polenta. The salmon itself was perfectly grilled and lightly dusted with pepper and Blackberry Sauce was just so tasty. We also took home Jambalaya Di Mare which had very fresh shrimps and the penne pasta was Cooked to perfection and spiced so very deftly. We also got the double chocolate cake ( sorry missed taking its photo before devouring it) but it was light and heavenly! We loved the food here and certainly be going for a dinner soon. We wanted a local spot for Italian Food and found Chianti's here in Brentwood/Oakley. Can't believe we've never been to this restaurant. There's plenty of parking since it's in a shopping center. When we came it was early dinner so there was no wait in line. Perfect timing right? We loved everything we ordered from the wine to pasta to salmon down to dessert. Love love the bread they served I think it was balsamic vinegar with garlic and olive oil? (I could be wrong). That was very good very filling so dangerous. I recommend ordering the calamari for starters always. It's my favorite! The ambiance is beautiful, has Italian vibe, romantic. They also have patio seating, maybe can have large parties. We took the larger family over to Chianti's for an early Christmas dinner on Christmas Day. They had a shorter menu, but with lots of different options from seafood to chicken to steak to salads and fresh soup. We had salmon with a creamy lemon sauce with angel hair pasta, clam chowder, which was freshly made, fettuccine with prawns and scallops and a really nice sauce and several ribeye steaks that were cooked to perfection. Stay away from this place unless you're one of the privileged who get preferential treatment. We arrived at around 4:45 on a Friday. The side where we were sat had one table occupied, the rest was empty. We were greeted and given menus/water right away. 2 tables were sat after us. We watched them get their drink orders, food orders etc and we sat there waiting. The blonde waitress who greeted us initially, appeared to be ignoring us for some reason. We sat for around 20min as we watched her tend to everyone else. Mind you, they arrived after us! We are very patient people, but when the place is empty and you're being ignored, that's a problem. We finally left as the waitress and others staff just stared at us as we walked out. Nobody said a word. As we approached our car, a girl came out and said "before you rush out of here, you left your phone" I said thank you but we were ignored for 20min while others were tended to. She said nothing! No apology, no reason, nothing. She just looked annoyed and walked back inside. While I appreciate her bringing my phone to me, we left feeling very unwanted and discriminated against. I'm sure the others were regulars, and that's all they care about. I've never been treated so poorly and never seen this type of disregard for the customers. This is a sign from the top down, that they don't care. Perhaps they have enough regulars that they can treat everyone else as less than, but this is not right, I will never come back here, which is sad because their food is good. My family and I went on a Sunday evening. The place had a good amount of guests but not crazy busy. We stood there by the front desk to see if we could be seated or to see how long the wait would be. To not make this long the hostess came to the front 3 times and all three times made eye contact, but not a word. The person who looked like the manager came to the front desk twice. Again, eye contact, not a word. A server came to the front desk and not a word. Stood there 8 minutes not a word and walked out.
