Ask the Community - Perch Church

I went to this church today 8/13 but it was not at the location provided on the Yelp page. Any ideas if this church still exist?

Hi Ian, this is Al, I founded the church 4+ years ago. I no longer pastor the church, but I do know it meets mostly online at www.perch.church. There are several people who meet at the new pastor and his wife’s home in Whittier who worship together…

When I miss a service, I can watch it online on the cvchurch.com website, as well as view and learn from past series. "The Happiness Habit" blended Biblical principles and practical applications beautifully! I'm watching last year's "You Make Me Crazy!" series now online, and it, too, is excellent guidance for living our faith sanely in a world full of stress. The pastor, Scott Wood, is passionately devoted to Christ and to his church, and I actually look forward to Sunday morning services! (I personally enjoy the early service at 9 am with traditional hymns, but the services at 10:30 am and noon offer contemporary worship music.) Come for a visit. If you're like me, looking for a church that cares about you personally, you'll stay.

Glendale is a very progressive church, and that is the reason why I'm still a dedicated Christian at 20 years old. I feel the church aims to learn and grow rather than keeping to the comfort of exclusion and outdated ideals that are not truly bible-centric. I am always proud to introduce and include my non Christian friends in events at my church such as the annual Christmas concert and our monthly group talks (always good food and good company!). Make your next Sunday enriching, and visit Glendale Church of Christ! Who knows, this church might be your new home in LA. P.s- Brian Shackman, our tried and true preacher, is hilarious

The church was as advertised. When we visited, we were immediately greeted and introduced to lots of different people. It was wonderful! I live in Dallas, Texas, but I visit once or twice a year for extended amounts of time. Each time I visit, I am welcomed into and become a part of this wonderful church. If you love people and have a servant's heart, Glendale is the place for you!

The way the priests and deacons communicate with the congregation is heartfelt and genuine, making everyone feel welcomed and connected. There is a deep sense of peace and spiritual comfort here that is hard to find elsewhere. The services are beautiful, and the community is warm and supportive. This church is not just a place of worship for me--it's where I've found inner peace and a sense of belonging.

Jesus condemned turning the temple into a marketplace: Gospel of Matthew 21:12-13: Jesus drove out buyers and sellers, overturned tables, and said, "My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of robbers." Gospel of Mark 11:15-17: He drove out sellers, overturned tables, and said, "My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations, but you have made it a den of robbers." Gospel of Luke 19:45-46: He drove out sellers and said, "My house will be a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of robbers." Gospel of John 2:13-16: He made a whip, drove out animals and sellers, scattered coins, and said, "Stop turning my Father's house into a market!" What's wrong with Armenian people ignoring this? Church should be for prayer, not gambling. Disappointing.
