St. Louis at times feels like it is overflowing with options for beer. Even among an ocean of alcohol Side Project Cellar stands out. It goes out of its way to curate a selection of beers from throughout the US and beyond. The menu also changes relatively often so there is something new to try out every time you go in. The space itself is warm and inviting, although on the small side. It is ideal for a date night or a couple friends rather than a large party. The staff is always knowledgeable and welcoming and they will happily help you find the drink that works for you.

My boyfriend and I had a great experience here. We came on a Thursday to try some beers and we didn't realize it was a bottle share night so they gave us free tastings of all sorts of other beers people had brought in. The bartenders were super friendly and really helpful in educating us. We really liked our time here and we will definitely be back.

Beer for after work, I was here with my laptop and enjoyed a very peaceful early evening of writing Yelp reviews, sipping a frosty beverage and watching people coming and going. Side Project Cellar has a tremendous beer list, much more than just the usual macro brews on tap. It's comfortable, it's got a very chill vibe and it's a lovely little spot. We were at their other tap room last time we traveled to STL but this one was my favorite by far. We just stopped in to have a drink and ended up staying for several hours. What a great place!

Love the rustic tasting room for Side Project. Space is open and airy and allows patrons to swing by, relax and enjoy cold craft brews. Staff is always super friendly and helpful. Easy to strike a convo with other patrons who also love the specialty craft. Blessed to have this sort of community in St. Louis!

I came to Side Project during the Maplewood Coffee Crawl. They had an excellent coffee stout with rich coffee flavor prepared for the event. The atmosphere was really intimate and welcoming. Definitely a great date night place on a weekend. Will definitely be back!

Chill, cozy spot to try a variety of some of the best beers made this side of the Mississippi. Draft beer on a rotating list, as well as a selection of barrel and aged bottles. Merch is cool and there is a library of games to play at the table. Smaller, more intimate feel than the larger brewery in town.

Great lil outdoor patio and sophisticated space inside that's a pleasure to be in. Beautiful beer & soft, cotton swag inside (beanies, sweatshirt, tees and beyond) Really cool spot!!

Visited The Side Project Cellar on a Thursday with some coworkers and it was a great experience. I've been looking to checking out Side Project ever since I knew I was coming out to St. Louis area for work. The hype behind this brewery holds its weight and some! I was honestly a bit scared at first because they looked closed around 8pm, but Devin, the bartender, assured us that they were open. They have a healthy draft selection which includes their own stuff and guest beers. They have an extensive bottle selection for on site consumption too. If that doesn't catch your eye, they have a whiskey and bourbon wall for your enjoyment as well. It's a very spacious spot and great to go solo, on a date, or in a group. Devin, our bartender, was very helpful and knowledgeable with all of questions to provide great recommendations. I would certainly throw this place on your list to check out if you're a craft beer and/or bourbon enthusiast!

Amazing beers, friendly and knowledgeable bartenders who will gladly pour you a taste, and generous patrons, I wish I went here more often! Great selection of whiskeys and other breweries too (saw Nogne, a Norwegian brewery I never see on tap, for example).

What a spectacular hidden gem that kind of sneaks up on you. This has been on our want to visit list for a while, but we honestly didn't put it at the top. What a mistake! So sad we haven't been here sooner. The beer selection is AMAZING, everything from Lambics to Imperial Stouts, many of the offerings are their own with a few outside ones mixed in. Now, neither myself nor my husband are fans of sour beers, but we were given samples of a couple different options to help us see where our threshold was. The SP Fuzzy Blend #5 was a little over the threshold for tartness, but still had the taste of fresh peaches and was worth the try. The bartender Devon was delightfully knowledgeable and eager to help us decide what we wanted to try. We were also given a sample of the Shared Fra-gee-lay which by far our favorite! It was rich and decadent, so yummy that we ordered a full pour to share. I ended up ordering the SP La Belle Fleur which was a nice balance of tart and crisp fruit, a perfect refreshing summer beer. My husband ordered a couple of different dark beers including their Dunkel and he absolutely loved them! The atmosphere was laid back and everyone was so friendly. We will be returning and bringing our friends with us!

The only real warmth we encountered came from the female host; the rest of the staff delivered service that hovered somewhere between disinterested and "we're doing you a favor by being here." We kicked things off with the fried deviled eggs, which arrived neither fried nor particularly deviled -- just cold little reminders that hope is fleeting. Cocktails landed squarely in "General Public" territory. My Squatty Potty showed up lukewarm, like it had been loitering at the bar contemplating its life choices instead of making it to the table piping hot. A chicken Caesar salad was perfectly fine... if you enjoy playing hide-and-seek with the chicken. The breakfast burger came on an English muffin with what might be the most emotionally unavailable portion of hash brown casserole I've ever seen -- tiny, distant, and gone too soon. Then there's the Scream Burger. Marketed as ghost-pepper spicy, priced like it's the main event, and delivered with all the heat of a polite Midwestern handshake. Dry, bland, and somehow bold enough to charge me an extra dollar for more mayo -- because nothing says "premium burger experience" like a condiment upcharge to make it edible. My husband's Pork Pountine? Imagine fries sprinkled with a few bacon bits like confetti at a party nobody wanted to attend. We came in excited because Eat Crow in Soulard sets the bar high. Unfortunately, Crows Nest feels like it's cooking for someone driving in from Chesterfield who asked the kitchen to "tone it down." If you're craving the real deal, do yourself a favor: go to Soulard. This nest still needs a lot more feathers. And to the influencers calling this place "amazing" -- do better. Nothing divey about a hip cocktail or hip deviled eggs -- these are sophisticated modern twists, the exact move wine bars make and dives don't. A chalkboard of specials and weathered seating gesture at the aesthetic; the rest of the room knows. Kendall Roy of restaurants -- comes from privilege, wants badly to be of the people. It's a bit, and mostly the kitchen and bar back it up. Nevertheless, we arrived to a full room, hour wait for a table, but we fortunately arrived to snag the last first come patio table. The bar was also full, by the way, which felt neighborhood like, people clearly like this place during happy hour. The old fashioned makes the case: Old Grand-Dad Bonded, pickled rye, cognac, butterscotch bitters. Two whiskeys and a bitter you won't find at an actual dive. Rich, a little sweet. The harissa deviled eggs keep going -- fried shallots, roasted red peppers, cilantro, marinated tomato jam. You know, just like the old dive with the $1 PBR.Deviled eggs for people that don't like deviled eggs. However, we love deviled eggs...foreshadowing. The short ribs are the headline -- fall-apart tender over whipped potatoes substantial enough to stand up to the meat, gravy spot on. Eats like a perfectly executed roast dinner. The brie burger is the sneaky second hit, genuinely decadent, bacon with the cheese melting into the beef. The service was good and pleasant and that felt more like dive-friendly, where you might expect a wine "bar" to be snooty or full of themselves. 4.4 Stars Picking Nits: hip deviled eggs that reach past what they can hold. Tomato jelly on top is a lot going on, in the wrong way, and the egg disappears under it. These are trying to be hip deviled eggs more than they're trying to be good deviled eggs. Every ambitious kitchen has one plate that tries too hard; this appears to be one. A 5 needs those eggs landing, in the same way the entrees excelled. Regardless, we'll be back.
