$50 to add cups to a dress and $50 to add a ribbon detail. More on the expensive side. She offered a cheaper option of sewing the cups onto the outside of the lining of the dress instead of inside between the fabric panels which was nice ($20 instead of $50) but I declined. My dress had a defect and Mei came up with a solution to add ribbon. I ended up ultimately removing the ribbon. I decided it took away from the dress. Mei was very kind and offered to replace the ribbon with something else free of charge. I didn't have time before my trip to bring the dress back but I appreciated the offer. She is very busy so allow Mei time to and bring in your alterations early if you can. I had a short window to work with as the dress was delayed by shipping. Mei Ling is awesome! We don't trust anyone else with our alteration needs. We found her when we needed our bridesmaid red satin dresses for my sister's wedding altered in 2013. I was 101% satisfied with her work. Went in to get my jeans altered, and it was done in one day! After I picked them up and tried them on at home, they still fit a bit long on me so I texted her that I want them even shorter. She replied right away telling me to come back so she can fix it at no charge. I came back and she did it right on the spot, in less than 5 minutes. i went to this business based on positive reviews I saw on Yelp. Live and learn. Yes, they are accessible via text and work with you on drop off and pick up times, but I took a new blazer, never worn, to have the sleeves hemmed, and when I got it back, there were two huge black ballpoint pen streaks on the sleeve and front of the blazer. When I took it to the dry cleaners, who also happen to perform alterations, they laughed at the shoddy sewing job on the sleeves and lining and offered to hem them the correct way for half the price I had paid at Perfect Alterations. When they showed me what Perfect Alterations had done, I was insulted that I paid $40 for a job that I could have done myself. read more

I buy suits close to 7 or 8 times a year in addition to other clothing items that need altering and have always had excellent service and amazing prices to match. My sister found Mei Ling on Yelp and I took my wedding gown to her for alterations. She was very sweet, timely in all communications and personable. She was upfront in what she charged and how she would complete the work which I appreciated. I had to have straps altered on the beaded bodice of my dress, as well with the back which was also beaded, it needed hemming, a hook fixed, a tear in one of the ruffles repaired, a bustle added, and my petticoat needed adjusting in length. She also provided me with foam cups since my dress was backless and I was having a hard time finding a bra that worked. At first I was concerned about pricing but as she explained the detail and time it would take to alter some of the complicated parts of my dress I understood. She was patient with me as I contacted her several times to try on the dress as I figured out my shoes, adjustments for size, and pictures, etc. she even knocked off some of the minor things in price to make it a little lower. I have never given a review on yelp because I have never been so impressed with a service that would make me want to create a yelp account until now. This review actually should have been done a year ago when Mei Ling did an amazing job with my daughter's dress alteration. I have always been grateful for her amazing skill and willingness to take on my daughter dress that I decided finally do the review. We were originally refused service from a very high rating bridal alteration place in Milipitas because she felt the job was impossible to do. My daughter had a beautiful Sherri Hill gown that had multiple layers and intricate beading. The dress was one size too large and due to the layout of the beading on a very delicate fabric, it made the job of alteration hard. It was my daughter dream dress and she was so disappointed when supposedly a great alteration place would not take on the job. We came across Mei Ling on yelp and decided to give her a try. Mei Ling was very friendly. When we came in and she said she had experience with the difficulty of my daughter dress and that she can do it, we were ecstatic. I even gave her a big hug with delight. Mei did a wonderful job altering my bridesmaid dress! I got my dress on Sunday and the wedding was to take place that Thursday... the upper part of the dress was way to big. I searched for alteration places that would be able to do a quick turn around and worried about paying a lot to get the fix done ASAP.
