Go at your own risk. Ive been many times and I always try to be friendly and respectful but everyone here acts like they are doing you a favor. They don't listen when you specify your shape / desired thickness and hack away at eyebrows to be quick and efficient. I now have one boxy eyebrow, she knew she took off too much and rushed me out. When I specifically said only clean up the shape, nope, she took off the front of the entire brow. On top of that, they could care less whether you are happy or not. It's like a meat market. There used to be a really nice, attentive, friendly specialist at this location, but she moved. I urge you, avoid and go to location where they will actually take *listen* to customers. WORST PLACE EVER AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Before the service I asked to please not remove a lot of hair, to go around my eyebrows since they are very thin. What I got as a result was the most terrible job. I wish I knew the name of the girl that did this bc I'm sure if she were to do this to her own brows she would hate herself. Definitely needs more training. Very poor job. I was left with 3 bald spots that are clearly visible and will take so long to grow back out. Find another business to spend your $8. I've walked by this place and I've always wanted to get my eyebrows done by threading. The first time I went, I was seated right away and the lady came up to me with the thread in her mouth like she immediately assumed I came in there for threading. I told the lady that I wanted cleaning up and some shaping. She got to work straight away and boy it was PAINFUL!!! I started tearing up right away and it felt like my eyebrows were getting a severe rugburn. However, I gave this review 4 stars because she did an amazing job! I couldn't even recognize myself the first time I looked in the mirror after the threading. For the second time, I debated whether or not to try a new place but decides to go back. Second time it still hurt and I teared up but now my eyebrows are very cleaned up, even, and shaped nicely. there is redness and a slight itchiness but the lady applies very cooling and soothing aloe Vera lotion to your brows. JUST DON'T TOUCH YOUR EYEBROWS RIGHT AFTER A FRESH THREAD OR YOU'LL BREAK OUT UNDERNEATH AND OVER YOUR BROWS!!! Got the rewards card too so I'll be coming back. read more

Just got my eyebrows threaded and full face waxing and they totally rushed through the service. They took 25 dollars and the services lasted at most 7 minutes if that. Staff was nice but she spent maybe 2 minutes on my eyebrows. I would not return. I wasn't happy with the service at all. Yes it's tempting it's cheap on the UES BUT ITS NOT WORTH IT. There are better threading places that won't rush through the service My advice is go with one of them. Literally regret coming here. Yesterday I happened to be in the UES area and i decided to stop by Perfect Brows. This is not the fanciest beauty salon in Manhattan, it is very small and it can look quiet sketchy, but you can get the result you are looking for without spending crazy money. I got a Brazilian wax for 35$ and for my upper lip threading i paid 5$. They also have some promotions like 99$ full body wax, which seems a good price to me knowing Manhattan standards. read more

They don't know how to shape your brows. If you're coming to get your eyebrow threaded and you're used to having an arch and beautifully shaped brows, this is not the place for you. My brows came out uneven and with no arch, had to tell her i wanted an actual shape to my brow. I am known to always have great eyebrows and i am embarassed that i have to go around looking like this for a couple of weeks. I will never be coming back. They seem inexperienced and were very rough w my skin. I came out my crazy irritation that I have never had before from threading. Looked like i had been waxed. Also the people there are kinda rude. Service- the women who work there have been consistently amicable, and I haven't had to wait more than a few minutes to be seated. Then the client who was very rude had her friends come in and was blabbing while tinting in this tiny place. I walked out and the employee said she'd be done in a minute. I've been going to this Perfect Brows location for at least the past year and a half as this is close to work. In my previous experiences with threading, my skin was left irritated & red. I came here and met I believe her name is Paru (I've also seen Pooja in the earlier comments.) All I can remember is that her name starts with a P. She was extra careful when she threaded & is very meticulous in her job. I was sold & started coming in to look for her to do my threading. I felt that I was established enough as a client that she would see me and recognize me & I would wait for her to do my threading. However, perhaps today was an off day. She saw me but another one of the girls came towards me .. I thought okay. No problem I suppose. Then Paru came towards me and after settling myself, proceeded to thread. Today, I felt like she was ripping my skin off, the threading felt so abrasive & I still had some straggling hairs. My skin was red for a while after. Perhaps she was having an off day but just be aware...Your experience can be good ... and sometimes not. read more

Yeah, yeah. Call me a cliche, a stereotype. I get my brows threaded. But these caterpillars need taming once in a while. And it's worth it for $8 and a 5 minute visit. That's why I go to ~Perfect Brows~. The first time I came here, I purposefully chose this location because it's 3 blocks from my apartment. Proximity is great, and, having sensitive skin that turns red rather easily, it's nice to be able to run home and not scare too many children on the sidewalk. (I already do that with my regular face, after all.) But I choose to keep going back here because it's clean, I've never had to wait (though I have seen it become especially busy right after work during rush hour), and the ladies are pros who won't roll their eyes at you when you sit down and immediately grab a tissue. Because, let's face it, threading can hurt like a botch. It makes my eyes water and I have to take a break between brows to cry it out. (Women obviously have a greater pain threshold than men. First childbirth and now eyebrow threading. I bow down to thee.) After 6 visits, your 7th is free. And there's a dish with Starbursts for the taking. I mean, heller. Free candy! HORRRRIBLEEEEE!!!!!!!!! I went here for about a year and half. I used to get my eyelashes done and this one girl would do an amazing job, it would take about 15-20 for about $25. When I went on my birthday a new girl did my eyelashes and she literally took 5 minutes!!! I went to go get my make-up done and the girl was like "who did your eyelashes they're barely on????" I was appalled, I went back the next day and they blamed me that I didn't care for them properly and started speaking in their own language about me. Another bad experience is when I got my first brazilian wax. She did it way too slowly causing me to cry and did NOT wear gloves. She didn't even finish the job and left it half done. Eyebrow threading is really cheap, but you have to shop around for your preferred specialist. If you don't specify someone, you're treated by the next available person. For a while I was only going to Annika, but I recently discovered Shama, whose work I also like. I like how every 5th eyebrow threading is free. They do accept credit cards, but you have to tell them in advance if it includes the tip, since there isn't a separate line in the receipt. read more

So I came to yelp to find a cheap threading salon by my apartment. Which leads me to Perfect Brows. I went in on a Tuesday around 515. My eyebrows were a nightmare. I walked in told the nice lady sitting in the first chair what I wanted and she told me to sit in the last chair (4 in total with a waxing room). The whole thing took about 5 minutes. Yea, it hurts, and I actually think it hurts more then waxing but my eyebrows look great! She even cut some loose hairs and put that cold lotion on them when she was done (my fav part!). I've been getting eyebrow threading since 9th grade, and I have punjabi brows, so I have had a pretty great of experience with different types of locations and places. First of all, the price is steep compared to places in Queens, but I understand that since this is in Manhattan and rents are higher. I get it. I tell myself I'm paying for the convenience of being able to go during my lunch break while working at the hospital across the street. In queens, I normally pay $2-5. The job they do it very clean and sharp - I'm always impressed. However, I NEVER got bumps when I get threading done in the past 13 years. But this place gives me bumps like the Rocky Mountains! And they don't go away for another 3-4 days, which is so silly when I got my eyebrows done before going for a big event or social gathering. I think they use a thicker thread here. I've gone here about 3-4 times and always the same. One thing that REALLY turns me off at this location, besides the bumps, is attitude of the ladies are here. Even with a 22% tip, they look so mad at me. Then once I asked if she could just do my eyebrows. I told her to clean up just the top part of the arch and by my temple afterwards (like how most eyebrow threading salons should do since it's the eyebrow area). She does it, and then I go to pay, and she charged me $7 extra for the forehead. I argued that I only asked for brows and she said "you needed it so I charged it". What the heck?! At least tell me before you decide to add an extra service, and she didn't even do my full forehead. I only asked her to touch it up the eyebrow area and my arch. DONOT do the eyelash extensions here..please go elsewhere ....these ladies have no experience in how to do this service properly ..My eyelashes were practically crazy glued with cluster lashes ..left my eyes feeling heavy and extremely uncomfortable..one eye had more lashes than the other and had more glue as well..I black glue was also very visible on my top eyelid ..this was just a mess..please save your money and go else where..never again...I would give this no stars ..just awful on top of that when they started to fall out on Day 8 my lashes were falling out with the cluster of falsies....its embarrassing I lost so many eyelashes due to poor quality adhesive and the inexperienced lady doing the job..These people should just stick to eyebrows. read more

I love the Perfect Brows franchise but this location has turned me off. I was the only client in the shop and was seated immediately to get eyelash extensions installed. The technician had not yet finished the first eyelid when one of her customers entered the shop. Although someone else offered to help him, he stated that he was always seen by the technician who was working on me. Without offering an explanation, my technician swapped with another. Finding that to be rude, i asked what was about (but already knowing the deal...). I was told that her hands were hurting from installing the eyelashes but she was threading the guy who walked in! I complained a little, but then i let it go. I just wanted my eyelashes done. When Mr Brows was finished getting cleaned up, the original technician came back to me. Now i'm not letting this one slide so i complain about the unprofessional-ism, etc. I told them that i was never coming back and i didn't like being treated that way. To make matters worse, my permanent eyelashes began falling off not a full week later. Don't waste your time at this location. Try the one near Union Square. read more

I've only been to this location once. The woman who did my brows was nice, seemed to be careful to make an evenly shaped brow. She also made sure I understood that one of my brows was thinner/sparser than the other before she got to work. I was pleased with the outcome. They have another smaller location on 1st Ave around 75th. DO NOT go there! First time I went, a nice lady did my brows but took a lot of skin. I had several small scabs. Second time, I walked in at 1 pm on a weekday. It was empty, which it usually is whenever I walk by so nothing extraordinary about that. A lady (different from the first) peers out from the back and says "Yes???" quite rudely. So I say "Hello, just brows please?" And with incredulous wide eyes she says "It's lunch time!" I stood there for a moment expecting her to say something like "Please come back in 30 minutes" but instead she just glared at me until I left!!!! The door was left open/unlocked, there was no sign like "out to lunch, be right back" etc. I will never try that location again, even though it is more convenient for me. read more

This review us for a Brazilian wax. The room is small and tiny but it works. Its $25 mon-wed and other days $35 which is a great price. Ive gotten waxes at places that charge $50-70, and they take forever to wax anywhere between 20-40 minutes and are those nice "spa" "wellness" places and to be honest theres no difference in them. i don't even want to give them a star. i want to give them negative stars or fireballs pasted all over this yelp page for perfect brows. i just got my eyebrows done and oh boy...I AM ANGRY! x-( i go in during my work break to get a quick clean up. i've been there before and i've gotten cut a couple of times but nothing where it was so infuriating because they've managed to do an OKAY job. and i stress okay because it was never anything that wow'd me. this place is just so inconsistent, even if you go to the same technician that it's a real hit or miss. today, i specifically told the tech that 1. DO NOT SHAPE MY BROWS, 2. DO NOT MAKE THEM THIN, 3. clean them ONLY and keep them THICK and 4. DO NOT SHAPE MY BROWS! tell me how, when i told her these things TWICE, she still managed to screw it all up! my eyebrows are now so incredibly uneven because one of them is not only more arched but thinner than my other eyebrow. she clearly did not listen to instructions and did whatever the eff she wanted on my face. never ever will i got there again, even if i'm desperate - i'd rather be hairy then let any of the people from this salon touch me. and the best part? she tried to convince me that my own eyebrows were already cut short, that's why they were uneven. meanwhile, it's been a month since i got my eyebrows done last. Today I stopped in for a facial. With a name like "Perfect Brows," I know skincare is not exactly what they're known for, and their little storefront location makes it obvious that you won't get a fantasy spa experience, but that's fine. All I'm looking for is a place for a thorough skin cleansing experience, that's moderately priced and within 15 minutes of where I live. On all those counts, Perfect Brows delivers. I got the Diamond facial, which sounds a lot more luxurious than it actually was. Mostly what bothered me about it was the excessive downtime - after a brief period involving a cleansing lotion massage and then exfoliation with a scrub, the facial steam was put on for what seemed like at least 15 minutes. I love the steamer, and this one had a nice light honey scent to it, but it just seemed like a long time. The extractions came after that, and that hurt LIKE A MOTHER. The second half of the facial was definitely more enjoyable, a lot more time of cleansling lotion and cream massage. The mask at the end must have been on for a half hour though, and that was a bit much too. Otherwise, the facial room is reasonably clean, the service very friendly, I loved the Indian music playing on the speakers, and I will be back for another facial for sure.
