So I decided to chance it and try this place out despite the bad reviews. Famous last words. The salon is cute but very small. The address is wrong - it's actually located on E16th. There isn't a ton of space to wait inside. When I strolled in, a woman who I can only describe as a Pakistani grandma with glasses was able to take me right away, even though there were 3 other women waiting. That was warning #1. She was very nice but has absolutely no idea how to shape eyebrows. I asked for wax. She asked me why not threading. Because I want wax...? She was really bad at waxing. She waxed part of my arch off and gave me totally uneven eyebrows. The worst part is, I don't think she could even tell. I'm not in the habit of yelling at grandmas, so I smiled, paid and tipped her, and will just fill my brows in extra nice for the next several weeks. Don't go here. read more

Tiny little hole in the wall place that does excellent eyebrow threading for $7. This is the first time I've had my eyebrows threaded and I didn't get terrible bumps and clogged pores from it. The woman was fast (under five minutes!), efficient, and she even trimmed my brows when I asked her. I love how neat and pretty my brows are now. The place also does waxing and facials, apparently. I went there to make a new shape of my eye brows. I didn't touch my brows more than a month. It was really hard to do that. You can imagine a person with something wild going on in the place where nice brows supposed to be. So, I read nice reviews about this place and I went there. I had a picture of the brows I wanted to have. The person did my threading and tinting of my eye brows. I paid more than $20 for it. And when I came home... I wanted to cry. Seriously! My eye brows are completely different! Different shape, different arch, different width. I can't explain how much I'm disappointed. I don't have some face asymmetry, so for a professional it shouldn't be a problem to make nice looking the same brows. I figured I would give this place another chance after my horrible waxing and customer service experience. I was dissatisfied again. The gentleman who seems to be the owner pretends to be nice to you before you get the service to lure you in. When I finished with the service I had questions about their points system. He raised his voice at me because I didn't understand his explanation. The woman working there felt embarrassed for his actions and she explained it in the manner it should have be explained from the beginning. I walked into their shop today and asked if I needed an appointment. Ira and Fiza were very friendly. Fiza did my eyebrows. She asked me first if I wanted them thin or thick. I told her to do them thick even though my left brow was thinner due to stress and over plucking. I had never had a good experience with threading before. Fiza threaded my eyebrows in no time! They were perfect and Ira told me she was gonna make sure to give me a call back when they get they castor oil...and she did! I also did the instant bleach glow and guess what? my sensitive skin didn't blotch! I will be going back for a facial and for 7 bucks to get your brows done is amazing. I've only tried threading and it was my first time so I don't have much to compare it to, but $7 for a super fast but thorough eyebrow threading job deserves 4 stars. I'm not really sure what people are talking about when they say it's painful, because to me it didn't hurt at all. As others have mentioned there's a frequent visitors card (maybe things have changed but my card says the 6th visit is free). My only complaint is that afterwards I did get a few bumps/clogged pores under one of my brows. I'll definitely give this place another try, though. read more

There's not much to the perfect eyebrows... At least not for me. Just make them look good and even... And not so thin. Since eyebrows shape your face, I was apprehensive to try threading places. But I started looking like Frida Kahlo at one point because I've been neglecting to thread them and since this place was next to the station and bus stop (the most convenient place ever) I decided to give it a try. I am super happy with my results and with their loyalty program (roughly 10 eyebrows threaded, you get one free) I am a happy camper. I have found my new threading go-to place!!! read more

I went to the new one on ocean ave and wow! That's all I have to say. I went a week before to inquire about eyelash extensions (I'd never done them before) and the girl convinced me into doing them- no problem. I was very skeptical but she said whenever you want them off and I'll take them off for free, she said don't pull them off no matter what and to just come back. So I did them. I go in today and she's not there. The other lady says $10 to take them off. I'm explaining to her the other girl was willing to take them off for free because it was my first time and I was trying them out. Nope, she insisted it was $10. I don't like when places aren't consistent with what they say. One person says they'll do it for free another says $10. Sketchy. Won't return. read more

I have terribly thin over waxed eyebrows and have been wanting to try eyebrow tinting for some time. I visited Ricky's beauty supply with the intent of buying a home tinting kit, but worried that I would end up looking like Groucho Marx, so i just decided to visit Perfect Brows since it was in the area. I didnt do my usual Yelp research, and I wish that I did. The place is quaint, cute color scheme and looked clean enough. I was a bit put off because there is no sanitizing of the chairs. Let me explain what I mean...the chairs are all like barber chairs and for the services to be performed the client has to rest his/her head on the headrest. What if a client has a greasy head of hair? What if their hair is dirty? I guess its not a requirement, but I think it should be. I'm a little bit of a germophobe (can you tell?) and of course I had to take a napkin out of my bag and wipe the headrest down before I got in the chair. I explained to the woman who was going to tint my brows what i wanted and that it was my first time, so I was concerned about how they would look when done. Her eyebrows were gorgeous and I told her I wanted mine to look just like here when I was done. She was the oldest woman there and I assumed she was the owner/boss, but didnt ask. The staff wasn't rude, but no one was super friendly or welcoming either. I sat in the chair and was asked if I wanted dark brown in a suggestive way, so I said yes, thinking that would be the best choice. I asked her if the tint would stain my skin, meaning if she applied it on my face in the shape that I'd like my eyebrows to look if it would kinda give the illusion that I have hair where I really didnt. She said no and applied the tint. I wanted her to humor me and "shape" the tint on my brows anyway, but when I sat up, saw that she didnt. I didnt fuss about it, I figured I should just wait and see what the results look like. She asked me to sit on their waiting bench because some other customers came in for threading, and again, there was no sanitizing/cleansing of the headrest. 15 minutes later she wipes off the dark brown tint and NOTHING. There was no visible change to my pitiful looking brows. She suggested we try the black tint and I agreed. Back in the unsanitized chair I go, and when I sat up, i noticed that this time she did attempt to "shape" the tint on my brows by bringing the tint in closer to the bridge of my nose and further out at the ends of my brows. That earned them the second star in this review. 15 minutes later the results were definitely better. I was happy that my brows looked fuller and I worried that black would be too harsh, but it worked. My "skin staining illusion" definitely made the difference. I was expecting her to do a little clean up of the stray hairs that needed to be tweezed, and given some after care instructions, but nope, she was ready for her money and for me out of her unsanitized chair. I think the fee was $15. The home tint kit cost about $12 at Ricky's. If I had to choose again, I would've just experimented myself at home with the kit and some tutorials from Youtube. It's not a bad place, but I don't think I'd go back there again for tinting. I chose them out of convenience because I happened to be in that area. While I was there several people came in for threading and everyone's brows looked great afterward. read more

I used to work at an upscale spa where I could get my brows done for free which was clearly a huge perk. Unfortunately they closed in december and since then I've been searching for a new place considering spending $50 for a brow shaping was no longer in my budget. After a couple searches on yelp I finally decided to give this place a try being that I'm a Hunter student and had some time to kill between classes. I am always very nervous for somebody new to do my brows, and I've never had them threaded. Thankfully its safe to say I'm so happy to say I had a great experience. The nice woman who did them was amazing. The threading experience was nothing like I expected, I heard it hurts way more than wax but for me it was so much less painful. The person threading my eyebrows was really fast and harsh! It hurt a lot and usually I can't even feel eyebrow threading. I went to get my eyebrows and lashes done, firstly I told the young lady please a need the smallest lashes BC I would like for them to have a natural look, thr young indian girl lied and put some disgusting long lashes on , I felt very uncomfortable BC I know she didn't know what the hell she was doing, when she was finished the glue were all over the lashes, lashes looked like two rakes very spaced out, I went back to work and showed my coworkers they all told me the lashes were jacked up, I wasted my money at PERFECT BROWS , I immediately went in the staff bathroom and washed the lashes off including my real lashes, I'm home now 10pm at night writing this review BC I worked very hard for my money and to flushed $39 down the toilet in seconds is very hurtful, I'm verryyyy upset and disgusted by unprofessional work that I received, I could have done a better job with some lashes from Walgreen's for $2.99 this experience were the worst ever, thanks for running my mother's day weekend BC I have no more money to redo my lashes, if your reading this it would be nice to refund me back my money. Let's be honest, this stuff is never painless, but the staff here is efficient and lovely. They may be good with eyebrows but PATHETIC at waxing especially if you have coarse hair. The lady had an attitude and was not interested in doing the waxing job. I was getting half legs done and she refused to wax the hair on my knees saying they were not included in half legs. You're kidding me right? Since my hair are thick and coarse many of them did not come out in the wax and she charged me double - did the wax again but so nonchalantly that I walked out of the place paying twice but random hair all over my legs that she did not take out with the wax. They do a good threading job and they is rarely a wait. $8, $10 with tip, not bad. It hurts like hell, hurts a lot more than waxing, but they are very fast and threading is more precise. If it was just threading, I would have given this place 5 stars, but I had my arms waxed and found them extremely unsanitary. They use this weird roller thing that does not appear to be sanitized. So zero stars for waxing, five stars for brows. read more

For the price, I give this place 5 stars. It's a no frills no privacy kind of service, I get eyebrows threaded and lashes tinted here. Very very cheap. Cheapest that I know of in existence! I.e $7 for eyebrow threading. Lashes are tinted in the chair in front of everyone which makes me a bit self conscious and for the convenience I just get over it. The girls in the store are lovely, there's a guy there sometimes who appears grumpy and not very good with customers. Overall it's a good little business in UES. read more
