My hubs was hesitant to come back after his last session and especially after my review (he didn't know I was writing) but Elena & Jennifer helped him feel at ease of coming back and making it extremely flexible to rebook an appointment to come back in. Hubs went back to get the much needed deep pressure massage from Jennifer at The Spa Simply Skin. Both Elena and Jennifer were present to greet him. The ambiance of the room was serene as it was before. He keeps telling me about the nice Buddha in the massage room. Jennifer asked if the headrest area was ok was comfortable this time before proceeding. This time she asked about the massage pressure and if it was firm enough. She worked on getting his knots out which was greatly needed. She used a tool on his hands up/down his forearm that he said made him feel really good. When I arrived, the first woman I spoke with was very kind and understanding\. Unfortunately, the experience changed completely when another employee came out and told me that the reservation was actually for a massage\. I explained that I had not intended to book a massage and that it must have been a mistake\. I also explained that I was not feeling well and could not have a massage because I am currently injured\. I simply asked if there was anything they could do, especially since I had driven an hour to get there\. Instead of trying to help or find a solution, the woman repeatedly told me, "It was your mistake," and said that because the massage therapist was already there, I would have to be charged\. When I asked if I could speak with a manager, she told me that she was the manager\. What upset me the most was not the reservation mistake\. Mistakes happen\. It was the complete lack of empathy and the way I was spoken to\. I was already anxious and explained that I wasn't feeling well, yet I was repeatedly told that it was my fault and that nothing could be done\. When I finally left, she said, "Try to have a good day, ma'am," in a tone that felt very sarcastic and dismissive\. I understand that businesses have policies, and I understand that reservations can be made incorrectly\. But customer service and empathy matter, especially when someone is explaining that they made an honest mistake, drove an hour to your business, and is physically unable to receive the service that was accidentally booked\. We booked about a week out so I was thrilled that they were able to accommodate our party of 7. Upon arrival we were greeted in the cute little lobby, escorted to the lounge area and given our choice of mimosas or regular beverage. We were shown a small room that had a bag, robe and slipper with our names on it for us to change into. Once we were changed we got to sit and enjoy each other's company in a cozy little lounge area until the missuses came to get us two by two. The massage was AMAZING and definitely worth the drive we had to take to get there. When I tell you I had to tell her in the middle of my massage "I don't know what it is your doing, but that feels amazing!" believe me!!!!!!! -- because whew chile!!!! She loosened up my back in a way I had yet to experience. We received 60 minute massages and then headed back into the lounge area to receive our foot soaks while two other people in our party were escorted into the massage rooms. That water, those rocks, and moisturizing oils felt so good y'all. Oh Em Gee! And someone came in and refilled it every time it thought about getting warm. Another thing I really liked was the cute little charcuterie-like board they offered us during the foot soak (oranges, cheese, crackers, chocolate). I wish it had more variety on it, but it was a nice touch to us relaxing. Talking about massages, the table was a heated massage table. Nice. I also added a hand treatment. After the hydra facial, I was shown the water. It was cloudy, not too bad as I was told. She advised me on some products they offer, not a hard sell pitch. I declined; she didn't hard press which I appreciate. My face was glowing (luminous and rosy) and seemed less poof-y afterwards. My hands felt more moisturized. The dry skin on my inner palm gently sloughed off. The next day, they looked revitalized. Pricing is comparable or less expensive to other local places. The facility is clean and is gorgeously designed. It has a calming white color scheme. Giving off modern, posh vibes without the pretentiousness or clinical feeling. There is plenty of parking right in front of the building.
