I was impressed by the reviews this place had and went in for a weekend lunch, the restaurant was not crowded. Nobody was around to greet or get me a table as I entered. I walked in and the bartender noticed me and was busy cleaning his bar. After I waited for few mins at the bar, the guy asked me to go back to entrance and he would come to me. His words were not welcoming or caring. I did not feel great. I left the place. In those brief moments I looked around, inside the restaurant and the theme was pleasant. They saw us and kept passing and went to 3 other new tables. Finally I got someone to come over and all I can say was it was all super weird. I will not come here to this location again. I usually enjoy it here. I order takeout from time you time. Ordered a quinoa bowl and brussel sprout app. Came to 35$?!? I questioned how as the websites prices are lower and same meal last month cost me 20$. When I suggested that the website showed different just to advise, in a friendly way. I was met with agitation. I went to my car and look in bag to find they didn't put my salmon in. But also the food was all mixed. Which it typically isn't. Went back in and waited 5 more minutes for salmon. This bowl is my favorite mind you, well it was, but first bite tonight so so salty. The butternut squash and goat cheese so salty. I couldn't eat it, let alone finish. The food is amazing and offers a fresh alternative to the dining out experience. Eaten here several times now and have always been satisfied with the meal. Gluten free options, bonus! Serving sizes generous. Hummus nachos and pear pico offer fabulous twists on traditional alternatives & I highly recommend either as a starter. Grilled cheese & fresh tomato soup were equally satisfying. The only item we didn't love was a lemon flavored linguini. It was a little bland. But the falafel we added to the pasta was the bomb. Minus the 5th star for a few reasons. When we walked in the restaurant, it was FREEZING. They said they have a difficult time getting the temp right. Thankfully, they were kind enough to turn off the AC. Also, I felt like our server could have been a little more cheerful. She was there to do her job and nothing more. For example, I ordered an alcoholic beverage which I took two sips of and didn't touch the rest because I didn't care for it. I didn't complain but maybe a more attentive server would have taken note and offered an alternative or removed the charge. The ambience and menu deserve the full five stars and will keep me coming back. read more

This review is about 2 months late but i just felt so compelled to write it: Menu is quite small and very simple, but the descriptions of each dish actually made it hard to choose. My cousin and I debated over ordering the buffalo cauliflower as our appetizer because buffalo sauce tends to be a hit or miss (not everyone has the same sauce of course and we don't like our sauce too tangy). We said "eh, why not" and ended up ordering that appetizer, along with the paco's pear tacos and carnitas tacos for our main dish. When the buffalo cauliflower got to our table, things went south. The cauliflower was SO SOGGY, despite the menu description specifying it would be CRISPY. On top of that, the sauce was a MISS. It was too tangy and strong for our liking. The soggy texture combined with the overwhelming sauce made the dish unpalatable. We only managed to force down about 4 pieces each to make it look like we were eating (we're non confrontational and didn't address our issue with the waitress whne we could have, sadly). We immediately regretted our decision and hoped that the tacos would be redemption. When the tacos arrived things actually got better. Mine were delicious! The pork was so tender, juicy, and well seasoned. My cousin, on the other hand, did not fare the same fate. His taco was apparently 99% sprouts and 1% whatever other ingredients . He compared eating the taco, to eating grass wrapped in a tortilla. That's a clear indication that there's TOO many sprouts! Overall, the staff was friendly and the place did have a nice, chill ambience. One complaint about the interior though is that it was really dark. read more

We ordered the mushroom pasta with falafel added, and while the sauce was good, it was overly sweet -- as sweet as a dessert. I would not reorder this due to the sauce. I have a sweet tooth and couldn't handle it. We also ordered the falafel tacos. They were juicy and tasty. I would reorder. We tried the cobbler dessert and it was very good and big enough for 2-3 people to share assuming all had a sweet tooth. If you have any of those friends that like to take one bite of dessert, then this thing has 20 bites in it. No, I didn't count. I was a little thrown off because I called prior to confirm that they do something special for birthdays such as a complimentary dessert. They said that they do provide something special for birthdays. When we got our bill, there was a dessert charge on it. I paid it, no big deal. However, I wouldn't say that a restaurant does something special for birthdays if all that means is that the customer is allowed to purchase dessert. That's not special, that's just standard practice. Again, no big deal, but I was surprised due to my expectation going in because of the phone call. My favorite things are as follows: Cauliflower spinach dip, mexicali bowl with falafel and most recent the buffalo falafel appetizer, that really blew me away!
