First off there is not much indoor seating so come prepared that it's best for takeout. There are benches to wait on once your order is placed. The menu boards are well explained. Many options of either build your own or house specialties. Love the spin on some of the items like Meatball Minnow, Great White Cheesy Bread and Megalodon Meat Sauce Special to name a few! Customer service was very inviting, friendly and helpful in choosing meals. Dessert case has many delicious choices! Portion sizes are generous which is always a plus! Definitely going to keep this place in rotation for freshly prepared pasta for take out!

It's for take out, not an ear it there place. The owner/operator was really friendly and the food was ready quickly. My wife and I wanted to sample multiple things so we got the pasta with both marinara and Alfredo packaged separately, meatballs and garlic bread. Both sauces were good, the garlic bread had a nice flavor and the meatballs were delicious. The lemoncello cake was so good we regret we only got one to share. It's a fun shark theme, and they carry that into the meal names. For a quick and easy dinner it's a great option and we will be back, especially as we head to hockey practices in the future!

I'm so surprised that I never heard of this place until my husband looked up "pasta" within 5 miles radius of our house. I was 15 minutes away from hangry and thank goodness we found this place! The online ordering was easy to navigate. The pick up process was easy. The owner was the one who helped me. The store might have a few chairs and a table, but it's meant to be a grab and go place. Love the brightness of the store and the beach theme! The portion size was large. I had leftover even I was very hungry. I ordered the mac and cheese and my husband ordered the shipwreck (cute names!) we also wanted to try out the garlic bread and a side a broccoli. 100% will return and try other dishes!!

Whenever I'm housesitting in a part of town far from my own, I like to check out the restaurants. Spaghetti Shark is a locally owned spot in south Tempe that opened in June. There's very, very limited seating in the storefront, so it's definitely a takeout-focused business. Pasta is the star here, obviously; you can build your own meal with lots of options for customization, or you can order a larger bundle for a group meal. There is also a limited selection of subs, breads and a Caesar salad. I ordered one of the combo options meant to feed a small group of maybe three or four. My order was ready quickly and the man behind the counter was very friendly. There's lots of cute shark decor inside and outside. The spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs were very good--rich flavor, nicely seasoned. After eating my fill, there's definitely at least two more meals' worth left, so they don't skimp on portions. I also got a piece of their house-made cheesecake with caramel sauce, which was great. The meal came with garlic bread, which wasn't bad, but it lacked something. A little more crunchiness? A little more garlicky goodness? It was fine, especially when dipped in the sauce, but I didn't love it. In this economy, I'm a little baffled by the spaghetti to go trend, as it's really one of the cheapest and fastest things to cook at home. But it's definitely a thing now, and Spaghetti Shark is a great place for it--fast, friendly and tasty, with a cute concept and prices that are comparable to other similar eateries. If you're looking for takeout pasta, especially to feed a family, I recommend it.

I've had Italian Beef before. I've loved Italian Beef before. But nothing--NOTHING--prepared me for the transcendent, jaw-dropping, flavor-explosion experience that is ordering the Big Beef DIPPED at this Chandler location. If you haven't done it yet, you haven't lived. And if you've had it elsewhere but haven't had it here with their cheese sauce... well, buckle up, because you're about to discover your new favorite thing on the entire planet. From the second you walk into Portillo's on Ray Road, you can smell the magic--crisp sport peppers, rich au jus, and that unmistakable aroma of slow-roasted beef that makes your stomach growl instantly. But the real moment of truth comes when you look that server in the eye and say: "I'll take the Big Beef, DIPPED, LOADED with cheese sauce. And I mean loaded." Watch their face light up--they know. They understand. This is not just a sandwich; it's a ritual, and this location performs it with reverence. Then it arrives. Oh. My. Goodness. The bread is drenched--and I mean perfectly, gloriously drenched--in that deep, savory au jus, so every inch is saturated with rich, beefy flavor. It's not soggy; it's luscious. It's a sponge for joy. And then... the cheese sauce. Sweet, spicy, velvety, liquid gold--it's like someone took pepper jack, dreams, and a touch of heaven and whipped it into a creamy, molten ribbon that cascades over every millimeter of that dipped bread and tender, shreddy beef. The first bite is not just a meal--it's a religious experience. The crunch of the giardiniera, the pop of a sport pepper, the warm, juicy beef, the cheese sauce pulling in golden strands... it's an OMG moment so intense you might actually forget your own name for a second. You'll hear yourself making sounds you didn't know you could make. You might cry a little (happy tears). You might order a second one before you've even finished the first. And here's the thing--the Chandler location executes this with flawless, almost artistic precision. The line moves fast, the staff is smiling, and they don't skimp. They don't hold back on the beef, they don't drizzle the cheese sauce like it's an afterthought--they PILE IT ON with pride. You can tell this team lives for these moments. They're not just serving food; they're delivering pure, unadulterated happiness. Even the atmosphere feels electric--like everyone in the room knows they're about to have their day made. You'll see strangers nodding at each other in mutual respect over their sandwiches. You'll hear "OMG!" echoed across the dining room (seriously). And when you finish that Big Beef Dipped--cheese sauce glistening on every corner, not a drop of au jus left--you'll sit back with a food coma smile so wide it hurts, already plotting your next visit. Bottom line: If you are within 50 miles of 7200 W Ray Rd, you have no excuse. Go. Right now. Order the Big Beef DIPPED with EXTRA cheese sauce. Thank me later. And maybe bring a napkin--because that cheese sauce is so good, you're going to want to lick every last drop off your fingers. Five stars? Try FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS PLUS A STANDING OVATION! This is the best sandwich I've ever had in my life, and I'm pretty sure it's illegal to be this good.

In fact, I'm pleasantly surprised by their growing menu and their willingness to better themselves by listening to Yelp feedback. You can really feel the spirit of home-cooking and the cozy atmosphere of a locally owned restaurant here. In the best way possible, service hasn't changed - it's still the same friendly owner greeting you with a smile and overall cheerful attitude. You can tell that they are actively growing as a restaurant and I can't help but want to cheer them on! Today, I had their banh mi pho with a side of Chinese donuts to dip into the pho broth. Absolutely delicious and great concept. My constructive feedback is if they can dial in their pho broth (which I already enjoy) to have more in-depth bone broth/spice flavor and less reliance on maybe the salty aspect. The restaurant and outdoor entertainment complex is huge and has a really fun, energetic vibe. According to the bartender, they have ping-pong, pickleball, and a big upstairs outdoor patio with amazing views of Tempe and the surrounding area. Azbel was a great server. I had the bistro steak and fries and the Szechuan lettuce wraps, and both were really good. Portions were generous. During late-night happy hour my total was about $55 for a main entrée, an appetizer, a cocktail, and tip, which felt like a great deal. I was pleasantly surprised that happy hour runs every day Monday through Sunday from 3-6 PM and again from 8 PM to close. The Service was "electric" for us as we were celebrating a birthday at the table during lunch. It was too Hot for us to do pickleball, but they do have a fully shaded area that had people playing outside ~105 degrees. As for the food, we had the Fish & Chips with a Mahi Mahi Slaw & Fries, the Ahi Poke Tacos which come in Wonton shells. Hot Honey and Sausage Pizza was great. The Barbacoa Nachos had all the right ingredients & the Double Smash Burger had only some "fancy sauce" on the plate. The Tempura Green Bean, can't remember who ordered, but were good with the chipotle ranch sauce. With me, I'm all about the cocktails, so I treated myself to both the Froze Margarita & the Chi Chi. They call them spiked slushes, I call them "heaven sent" during the Arizona Summer. All of the food was a hit for the table and my family understood why I suggested EP for lunch! I said our Server was "electric" and that's because they made our experience very enjoyable. It was appreciated and I will return again for lunch and pickleball (in the evenings) during the hot summer!
