Went into the salon with a beautiful dip manicure (black French tips with a round shape), only was going to get them redone because they were overgrown, told the technician I wanted the exact same thing just shorter and a dark brown tip instead of black. Not only did the removal of the old set hurt and completely destroy my natural nail underneath but I had to switch technicians twice. She then decided halfway through that the dip was not working right and stared using gel on top of the dip. I kept asked for the round shape that I originally came in for and she reassured me she would fix it so I believed in "trust the process", 1 1/2 hrs later I left with thick, uneven and rough nails. There's parking located in front of and around the salon, and it's located by a caribou for a pre-nail drink! Value: As of Jan 2019, their standard pedicure is $27 and deluxe is $40. For the positives of this review I will say I came in for the first time wanting to try a new service (dip manicure) and I was greeted warmly as a walk in. My nail technician was very polite and efficient with the service. I left feeling like my nails looked amazing! Unfortunately after 2 weeks my nails started peeling from the cuticle forward, within 3 days every single one was lifting. And by lifting I mean some were literally half off, hanging but just the front edge. This caused significant pain from catching on things like my hair. I asked all my friends who agreed this should not happen if done correctly. I came back in to provide the opportunity to correct the service by removing my dip. But unfortunately they rushed through this and I left with bruised painful nails. I was also charged for the removal even though I felt it was not done correctly in the first place. When I let them know at the end that I was not planning to return due to the polish lifting, she told me it was my fault because I have "tender nails." so I said fair enough this is my first service, I'll go to another salon and if it happens again then it's me. I can now confidently report it was not me and either a result of faulty product or faulty application. The second salon also chastised me for taking off my polish at home due to the damage, and I had to tell them that I had them removed "professionally" at Perfect Polish, much to their shock I realize things can just happen but since there was no service recovery, blamed me for their mistake, and destroyed my nails with a removal I cannot in good conscience recommend this salon. read more

A bridal troupe and I recently visited to have our nails lacquered before the big event. Staff is friendly, service is fast, and the technician doing my nails was neat and meticulous. I've had some manicures recently that have been terribly disappointing, with uneven cuticles and polish on my fingers when I walk out. Not so here. After shaping all of my fingers to the same length, she carefully applied my chosen polish, making sure to brush underneath the far edge of my nails with some polish to help prevent chips. Next she got a small brush saturated with nail polish remover, and carefully cleaned up the edges of my nails and any places that polish may have gotten on my fingers. Next was a sealing top coat, and I was good to go! The process was very affordable, just $35 for both manicure and pedicure, whereas I usually pay $30 for pedicure alone. My favorite part of getting a pedicure is having them remove calluses, which she was apparently too busy for. I told the women assisting me I felt rushed and she did not respond. i was treated by my mom and came in on my birthday for a pedicure and a full set manicure!!! i am disabled and am in nonstop chronic unbearable pain that is debilitating and unbearable! i also am unable to work and have been fighting the state of mn dis. for over ten years! this pain prevents me from doing my own nails and tending to my feet. i know they were in bad shape! i also went to cosmetology school amd used to work and paid for both my own nails and toenails every 2 weeks. we had a scheduled appointment and treated us as walk-ins!!!! on my birthday!!! they did minimal work. they didn't push back my cuticles... they didn't use the official tools instead used the drill. which doesn't push my overgrown cuticles back into their normal squared and perfect shape prior to my disability. i tried to tell them to use the actual tools and tried to explain to them that i am well aware of what is supposed to be done. that i am disabled and i know my feet are bad but that's only because i cannot reach them. i requested them to use the metal cuticle pusher and clip my cuticles off which they refused and the manager tried to insist " we give you special drill treatment for free" in which i said, xl" that is not special treatment. you are doing that because it is faster and easier for you! i know how my toes look when they are done and this is not it" my mom was embarrassed but i know that this was a waste of both our time and my gift/her money! they are supposed to push the cuticles back and skin back and clip all access skin off! pumice until there is no callus remaining they didn't even massage my feet use a salt scrub and were done in. 15 minutes with my feet! normally a 45 minute relaxing treat! this was the worst customer service! i couldn't believe the audacity of them to argue with a customer who was absolutely correct and on her birthday! i wanted to walk out but my mom insisted i get my nails done too. while they were giving her a 60 minute pedicure still! at the same price! i got my nails done. same thing! didnt listen to me! wrong length! i asked for pearl tips which i had gotten for years! not too much acrylic and coffin style! they ignored all of that. didn't push my cuticles back nor clip! uses the drill. used white tips. stated they had no pearl tips. arguing with me again stating they had never heard of pearl tips! made them thick as f*(# and squared. my cuticles looked terrible little pieces sticking up everywhere! not pushed into their correct position and the acrylic was uneven and bumpy! no cuticle oil! no hand massage! no apology! i was so mad my mom paid and tipped them read more

From beginning to end this was a terrible spa experience. It started with the wait - being told "just 10 minutes!". Regulars (without appointments) kept getting seats before the people who had been waiting. We ended up waiting 40 minutes to sit down, and I was left waiting another 10 minutes at the station before a staff person joined me. My manicurist clipped my cuticles so close I bled on three nails - something I've never had happen during a manicure. A day later, the skin around my nails is puffy, red, and painful. She didn't clean under my fingernails, and only did the most basic trimming of my nails - I could have done a better job at home! The salon had "VIP Nail Kits" marked with client's names. They took someone's nail kit and used it for me, another client's kit was used on my sister. The pedicure started with water so hot I couldn't put my feet in, then they added so much cold water I spent the rest of the appointment shivering. I was very disappointed with my service today here. I came in to the salon with virgin nails to get a full set of gels. I wanted a very specific look to my nails, which I expressed to my nail tech, and she seemed to understand what I wanted. I ended up getting oddly shaped nails. I even tried to tell her how to fix them, but I still didn't get the results I wanted. All the other gals in the salon got lotion rubbed on their hands at the end of their service, and for what I ended up paying, I definitely should have got a short hand massage with lotion. What upset me the most is that they didn't even explain the price difference in the types of polishes they use, so I ended up paying $50 (plus tip) for my service that should have only cost $32. Total rip off. If you go here, make sure you get full disclosure about pricing upfront, and make sure your nail tech can properly communicate with you about what you want your nails to look like. read more

If I could give this place less than a 1 star I would. When me and my friend arrived at a time we had scheduled we had to sit in the pedicure chair 20 mins before they even put our water in. We basically filled our own foot tubs then the water was too hot, we had to turn the water off and start the bubbles ourselves. No foot massage, crappy service, and nail polish all over my hand. And what they charged me was over what they initially quoted me - like by 6 bucks. And I got nothing special done and regular polish. I assumed it was because I asked for a design in my nails. But when was all said and done, they would not give me a design because they say I didn't pay for it. And when I got home, my heels were as bad as when I went and I had to pull out my buffer for them anyway! I go and have my nails done often and was contemplating changing my standard location. My usual place was busy. I thought this place would be fine. I don't know if the lady rushed or what. But she didn't take her time to get the dead skin out of my nails. On my left big toe she didn't cut the sides in & I was walking on it & it hurt. I went back to my regular place to get it fixed. I was kinda on my phone so I'm not sure if she quickly put lotion on my legs. But the place I go to puts nice lotion on your legs. She spent a lot of time massaging my legs. Most people like that. But I thought it was weird she did it while the polish was drying. She didn't set a timer once my nails started drying either. I only knew because I checked the time once my mom got done. The one thing she did good was she let me take a minute to look at my nails before she polished them. I wanted to see the progress of their growth because I can't with the polish on. The color also looks really nice. She did good spending a lot of time massaging my legs. The lady who did my moms nails might of done better. PP is hands down my favorite nail spa, the interior is very calming and classy with soft colors and a gorgeous chandelier, not your typical tacky nails salon interior. The chairs are of better quality than most salons as well. Every technician does an amazing job, no matter who you get. I go there at least twice a month for the gel mani and a monthly pedicure. The prices are pretty on track with what is to be expected everywhere. There rarely is a wait and everyone there takes extra time to make sure your nails look just perfect, any little spot of polish is cleaned and looks amazing every time. I even moved this past fall and drive out of my way to go here, hands down 5 stars every time. read more

This is easily my favorite nail salon. I have been there multiple times and each time the staff there are very detail oriented, attentive, and friendly. The massage chairs are good, which isn't critical but definitely helps. I can't recommend the deluxe pedicure enough because 'so many goops!' as a friend of mine has said, but more importantly, the massage is just THAT much better too. I am often a Happy Nails kind of girl. However, Perfect Polish comes in a close second, and mostly only for distance. Located in Mendota Heights, it's a bit of a hike for a city girl like me, but I grew up in the area and so PP becomes a perfect retreat when I'm visiting my parents. Firstly, they are nearly as clean as Happy Nails. The only difference is that their nail polish is not organized nearly as well, and they don't do as good as a job of getting rid of old polishes, so you might find a color you like but open the bottle to find a clumpy-goopy mess. But speaking of goop, their deluxe pedicure - which they suggest during the service, unlike Happy Nails where you see signs but no one ever tries to upsell you - where was I? Oh! The PP deluxe pedicure is awesome. There are so many lotions and creams! Their massage chairs are also higher quality than Happy Nails, and they tend to be less crowded, and have the TV on less if at all. I nearly fell asleep during my pedicure! The practitioners are friendly and nice, and they don't talk quietly to each other in their native tongue in a way that makes you think they are talking to you and then you have to say "what?" and then they have to explain they weren't talking to you. They talk to each other but it's clear who they are talking to, and they honestly seem to just want you to relax. I would definitely make the jog out if you have some extra time. Their prices are a little lower because they're in the suburbs, and there is free parking a-pleanty! read more

I like this place! I was in need of a quick manicure and in the neighborhood, so I popped in. The place is really clean and looks new, but I think it's been open a while? I got a gel manicure and she was lightening fast - done in 45 minutes, which is pretty quick. My regular place takes a little longer. The manicure lasted just short of 2 weeks, which isn't bad for me since I'm pretty rough on my hands. I stopped in recently cuz my feet were looking really rough. I got there around 3:15 on a Friday afternoon. I was the only one there getting a pedicure and then all hell broke loose and the place was packed. I'm glad I got there when I did. Nail tech was fast and the leg massage was very relaxing. They have a list where you write your name down and I'm assuming it's first come first served, but I've never waited so that's been nice. They take cards, but you cannot tip on the card, so bring cash for tips. I'll mos def go back if I need a pedicure and cannot wait. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and was not aware that appointments here is a good thing. I was told the wait would be 10 min, after 30 or so min I was escorted to a chair and was left to soak my feet for an additional 15-20 min. When my nail tech came over she never introduced herself to me just started going to work. She did not have a very light hand and I was concerned that she was going to clip me a bit to deep and cause me to bleed. She buffed the nails on my right foot but not my left and I had to ask her for the lotion and she stated she hadn't got to that point yet. I will never go back! Go instead to Enchanted Nails right across Hwy 110! I went to this nail salon on Thursday at 3pm and it was not busy with nail techicians waiting in the massage chairs for customers. The very young woman who helped me made no effort to speak to me except at the very end, she asked me "so did you work today?" "Yes" I say... thats it. While she talked the entire time to her workmates making jokes in Vietnamese. With no music except very quiet classical and a TV that she refused to turn on despite my request, I was quiet bored with at least 6 nail techs laughing around me. This is the case at many nail salons but this time it was different. First she rushes me to the chair and I say "I need to pick a color first". She sits me down and immediately puts foil and remover on all my fingers. Ok... then hands me a box of 8 reels of polishes that I'm supposed to pick through handicapped with foil on my fingertips and one-handed as she works on the other hand. It takes me even longer to pick a color now because of how awkward the fingers had to bend and then meanwhile the remover is dripping all over me and I'm trying not to get it on my coat sleeves. Really, was there such a rush? No one there and now feeling rushed to make a decision?! She makes no effort to help me with the nail reels at all. At this point, I'm getting the feeling she doesnt know what she's doing and I think about leaving right then!! But stupid me, I stay. It only gets worse.... after she nicks my middle finger, she takes a chunk out of my pinky! I tell her to please leave it alone. Then, she picks up a file and files on the open wound! Again I say, "Ouch! Please, I don't want you to touch it!" After that I checked out mentally because I could feel my face getting red with anger and knew that I would never go back! $30 for the worst manicure ever. read more

Well shame on me! I left a review in May of 2013 and was dumb enough to go back last week. Went in for what I thought was going to be a relaxing pedicure and ended up getting the complete opposite service. My nail tech was so rough it was actually painful. Then she started digging into my toe thinking she was going to get an ingrown and after I told her to stop 3 times she brings her co worker in & they both continued to dig. Finally yanked my whole foot away! Then to top it off, I asked for the luxury pedicure with a long massage and she spent 5 minutes massaging my legs/feet. I had some time to kill before my wrap at Vera Salon, and I never noticed this place. I was curious about prices. Sure enough gel nails $30. They use OPI and other brands. Before I know it I'm getting them done. TT, is very experienced, and had done hair at an upscale salon locally at one time. Jackie G. is right about the calming effect. As I'm getting my nails done, I'm looking around, and notice how serene it is. No bright lights, and noisiness like most other places. I wondered why so many Asian, usually Vietnamese people go into nail specialties. She told me they tend to be artistic. That was it! Gel nails are so new to hair salons, they don't have much in terms of color choices, and I have a hard time choosing. Here it's just the opposite, there's so many it's hard to decide.
