I'm going to try to be as fair as I can in my feedback. I had my first appointment with Amy in October 2015. I chose her among other professionals because of the excellent reviews on Yelp and because she is one of the few people who does 3d eyebrows tattoos in San Francisco. I was also fascinated by the photos she uploaded, however be careful, because they deceptively suggest that those are the results you get in just one session. Maybe I was too naive to believe that (first time I tattoo my eyebrows), but after reading other people's reviews, I see that I'm not the only one to have fallen for it.. So, for those who are planning to have their eyebrows 3d tattooed, keep in mind that the pictures are taken right after the procedure and resemble very little what happens one or two weeks later, when the pigmentation has flaked off. I had asked Amy to fill in my sparse eyebrows and give them a clearer shape. Although she did give them some shape, the results were barely visible after a couple of weeks (aprox. 70% of the tattoo was gone and had turned into a grayish color!!!). I was so disappointed, after paying $400, to still have to fill in my eyebrows every morning with a pencil. I called her and left her a voicemail explaining this and asked for a touch-up appointment, which she had advised me to do within the next three months after the first procedure (without mentioning its price). In the meantime, surprisingly enough, some of the color that had faded away eventually came back to life 2 months later? Instead of 70%, it seemed that now only 50% (well, "only") of the tattoo had faded away. So be patient during the first month or two because the color of the tattoo can still change but don't expect to get the results you see in the pictures! Yesterday I went for the follow up session and these are the conclusions I draw from both experiences: - During the procedure, I agree that Amy showed a strong dedication to her work. She put a lot of efforts and time in drawing my eyebrows both times. She was receptive to my wishes and preferences but for some reason insisted a few times that I needed black ink for my eyebrows, despite my efforts to show her that my hair is chestnut brown... A part from that, she is knowledgeable and.. yes, very perfectionist! This is why she gets the three stars. However, I would never give her 5 stars for the following reason: - When it comes to money, Amy is particularly manipulative and dishonest and that is something that clashes quite a bit with my swiss upbringing!! When I was about to make the payment the first time, she said I would have to pay the $400 in cash, otherwise she would have to charge me $15 for the transaction. Who carries $400 in cash?! I asked her why she never mentioned this to me before our appointment, neither the day I called to schedule the appointment nor the day before our appointment when she called to remind me of it. She then changed her mind and said she would charge me $10 instead and began acting in an apologetic manner. I started feeling confused and told her that I had no problem paying for her work but that I didn't want to be charged for an unnecessary transaction, and added that it was ok, that I would go to the nearest Wells Fargo (15 minutes away walking -.-) to withdraw some money and come back to make the payment (which of course, I did, but now I think I should have ran away!!!! ;)). The second time, again, I was surprised to find out the the touch-up session was not included in the $400! Not only she NEVER mentioned a word about it during the first session and the three following phone calls before the second appointment (she had quite a few opportunities to do so..), but I'm pretty sure she purposely tried to insinuate it was part of the deal. Amy was fantastic - it bums me out to see the 1 star reviews people give her over petty stuff. I had a pleasant experience today and knew what to expect because I read the information provided on her website. Amys shop was very sterile and private - I thought it was great for a one-woman ran business. We spent about an hour doing preparation. I showed Amy photos of what I liked, I asked her opinions, and she drew the brows until we were happy, making sure they were symmetrical. She applied numbing ointment before we began, which I needed more of throughout. It was still painful, but nothing intolerable. Beauty really is pain sometimes :) I was sneezing like crazy because of that sensitive nerve that travels down your face and behind your brow - which is totally normal (and laughable). The tattooing itself probably only lasted 30-40 min of the 2 hour appt. Her next client arrived early but she still took her time with me and never felt rushed. I have to say she is very honest and a perfectionist, which is exactly what you want from someone working on your face. My friends and sisters are so impressed I know they'll be coming to Amy too. I'm so happy to have a more low maintenance routine and to be able to wake up like this. Thank you Amy! read more

If I could go up to 10 stars on this review, I would. I recently went back to Amy for my second touch-up appointment, and again came away with the greatest conviction in my mind- and on my face- of the fact that I had chosen the best person for the job. Eyebrow tattooing is an intricate art, and one that you don't want to mess around with. Amy is pure and simply the best. Her reviews indicate this- and as previously mentioned I did over two months of research before choosing Amy. And I am so thankful to God that I did. She is amazing. Her work is amazing. From the time you step in there, to the time you are walking out with a huge grin (and the best eyebrows!) on your face- Amy puts you at ease. Amy's 5 star Yelp reviews are more than justified- and to also top it off, she pairs superb work with being just a really, genuinely nice person. She talks you through each step, ensures that both sides are well and truly numb before proceeding (and despite it being on bone, and my first tattoo- the combination of her gentleness and adequate numbing procedure left me barely feeling the needle!), and does not stop the virtually painless detailing procedure until she achieves perfection. Which, from a personal point of view, she did. To top it off- and I really wish Yelp would allow me in some way, shape or form to award bonus stars here- upon arrival to my first appointment Amy asked me what foundation I was currently using. I let her know that I preferred BB creams due to lighter coverage, etc. She recommended to me a mineral makeup, Young Blood, that she thought would be both a better match, and better for my skin. I did not take this at the time, but went away and after doing a quick search online, found Amy had recommended me on of the best-rated skincare brands by dermatologists. This had better ratings and was supposed to be the best mineral makeup on the market for your skin out of all brands, including Bare Minerals, etc. On my last touch-up appointment I purchased the foundation- and was blown away to receive a call from Amy the next day just reminding me to put moisturiser on underneath for the health of my skin. She wanted to make sure it was used properly, and as always showed what a true professional she was by thinking of her clients, and contacting them on a Sunday to give advice. Amy is amazing. Also- if you do get the chance, purchase her makeup too. It is WONDERFUL. My skin is great- the coverage is light- and most of all, I cannot quite believe how many compliments I have received between my eyebrows and skin luminosity over the past month. This is all down to Amy. If you are considering this procedure- DO NOT go anywhere else. It's on your face. Make sure you consult the best in the business. This is the only business that I have been to that I would say deserves six stars. Some part of me doesn't want other people to know about it, because then would it be so startlingly inexpensive, would Amy have the time to do work that perfect? She would have the inclination. I did a lot of research, and read every review on yelp, before I selected this place. This was back when she didn't have any reviews up I think or they were filtered or something, so I had dismissed it at first, especially since it sounded like it was in some far weird place. I ended up finally making an appointment because the other place was so expensive I was procrastinating, but mostly I was swayed that Amy was the only one who had pictures of her actual work on actual clients (not models wearing makeup), that (and here is the kicker): I thought looked good. If you check it out you will see what I mean. My hope here is that some salon doesn't get wise to this bit of clever marketing and put up real photos of good work if they haven't come by them honestly. In the meantime, you have to wonder if it's a case of the emperor's new clothes with some of the photos of work done at other places ( I would go to my car and cry if I was the 'after' in some cases). Another bit of reassurance: I was surprised to find out that she is much older than I am. Most people think I am pretty young looking or that Asians often look younger than they are, in Amy's case, she looks like she is in her 40s I suspect because she is doing something right with her skin, a facial behind a tantalizing yellow curtain in her super clean Sunset space that she said I could try one day. I lost part of my eyebrow, and used to spend 20 minutes a day trying to fix it with makeup so I thought it looked more normal. I have had the tattooing before and was unhappy with the results that took years to fade, so it was only despair that had me searching again. I am kind of a perfectionist, but I was satisfied long before she was. I went in another time and sprung on her that I wanted to try the eyelashes, and she was a little hesitant, I saw later why: she spent as much time as it took to make it perfect. Perfect like I couldn't tell. That means that you are not getting dinner any time soon, or maybe at all, if you start at 5:00pm. (She called someone and spoke to them in Chinese, I'm assuming to let them know she was helping out a customer who needed a lot of help, and she would not be home until late). this is a review for an experience i had with Amy one and half year ago and also the experience i had yesterday pertaining me and my mother's experience. i found Amy through yelp, she is very accommodating to appointments and was able to schedule me on short notice. While i am in waiting room, i notice girls walking out with beautifully tattooed eyebrow, i am SO excited. The next moment i know, i am sitting at the tall chair with her staring at my eyebrow. she actually spend a good 45mins trying to reach the most articulate arch of balance for both of my eyebrow, i have given up drawing my own eyebrow long ago cause i knew my eyebrow bone structure somehow works against the perfection. We finally reached an amiable agreement of how my semi permanent eyebrow looks like. The pain is little unbearable at first but after the anesthesia kicks in the pain subdued. i walk out feeling proud of my new eyebrows. One year later, my eyebrow still looking fresh. i brought my mother to Amy, both of us is once again impressed by her dedication and patience in the work she does. This is an updated review, I've been going to Amy's for over 6+ years now and today I went in to get my eyebrows touched up and she did a wonderful job, nothing unusual. She always does a wonderful job.. she's definitely the best in the bay and I really can not trust anyone but her. I never ever had a time before when I was not satisfied with my eyebrows - whether it's simply just getting my brows threaded or even a touch up she always does an amazing job. It's honestly not just Amy's work that keeps me coming back, it's her wonderful personality. She's a really sweet lady and always understanding. Most importantly, she's accommodating. Not only do I have a crazy schedule but Amy is a very busy lady but she's always willing to squeeze me into her schedule which I'm very thankful for. If you're trying to book with Amy, I would recommend to call ahead of time. I've recommended so many friends and they all love her work. Some of my friends were going to another place for micro blading they were paying 700+ versus Amy's reasonable prices. I've done a lot of research before my session with Amy and a majority of permanent makeup in San Francisco were way overpriced. Amy is experienced and she knows exactly what she is doing. I haven't tried other places before but my friends have mentioned to me that micro blading isn't an easy technique and many of the places that they previously been to have messed up on their eyebrows. They switched over to Amy and they have all been a loyal customer since!!! She spends a lot of time on your eyebrows making sure everything is precise and even. Throughout the process, I never ever felt rushed. She makes me feel so comfortable and getting your eyebrows tattooed can be a very nerve racking process but I haven't felt this way because I am confident with Amy's work! I lost a lot of hair and eyebrows when menopause hit 15 yrs ago. Fortunately, the hair loss stopped a couple of years later but unfortunately the eyebrows are now practically non existent. Didn't bother me so much when I wore glasses until I had cataract surgery in Jan. Now without glasses, I look strange. Researched for help and found Microblading. then looked for an expert to perform a minor miracle. Went on Yelp like I always do (Thank you Yelp for helping me find Amy) and found Perfection 3D. Spoke to Amy and set up appt. So excited for my 1st appt but a little apprehensive as to how much to expect. I hate having high hopes and then be horribly disappointed. Well, that's not going to happen with Amy. She was polite and professional at our initial appt and had me fill out forms. Then she measured, erased and measured my eyebrow area, drew the outline to the picture of my ideal eyebrows and then numb the area to start microblading. I have 6 tattoos and 1 child and there were times that I felt pain. Amy did check a couple of times to see if she needed to numb the area again but I told her no. Which one of us ladies will not put up with a little pain for beauty. 3 hours after I walked in, I left with eyebrows. She gave me instructions to follow and told me to set up next appt after 6 weeks to do touch-up and darken if necessary. I got into my car, sat there and looked at myself in the mirror. I saw someone with dark eyebrows like if I went into a make up place and they drew perfect eyebrows on me only I would never be able to duplicate the effect due to the fact of inexperience and severe carpel tunnel. Followed all the instructions and was happy that I now have eyebrows. There were some gaps as expected and I also preferred my eyebrows darker than the norm. After all, it has to match my purple hair and my big and loud attitude and jewelry. Went in for my 2nd appt and left 2 hrs later. I now have the eyebrows I have always wanted and it was worth every penny and the time spent to achieve it. Amy is one of the most meticulous people I've ever met. I FINALLY did it...after years of contemplating if i should or shouldn't do it...i made the appointment and got my eyebrows done on 2/23/2013. THANK YOU Amy!!! I was her first appointment of the day (11am) and parking wasn't bad at all. Her facility was clean. The first 20-30 minutes Amy spent on me was to find the right brow shape and once i agreed on the shape, it was time to make it permanent. For those that know me, i hate needles, and the buzzing sound didn't help either. It hurt at first because the numbing cream wasn't enough, but once she added more it was almost painless. I am on day 2, and it looks alot better than it did on day 1 (less redness and less puffy, this is normal). It makes a huge difference. Prior to the permanent brows, it would take almost 20 minutes to get it even and having the right shape. Now, i can wash my face and go. I recommend her to anyone that is thinking about doing this. I used to go to Jun's Beauty Salon for eyebrow threading until it got too hard to get an appointment. I found Amy who I think is even more of a perfectionist than Jun. Amy does a combination of threading, plucking, and trimming to create perfect eyebrows. Good prices and easy parking. read more

I wanted to see how good threading was in Hong Kong since I somehow got the impression that it was better than the states. BIG MISTAKE. The lady I went to made my eyebrows uneven and I had to wait a month for it to grow back. Then I came to Amy and she fix it right up. I took my mother there today, Amy was so nice to us and done an amazing job on my mother. Hi everyone! . I am a 61 year old, young woman and had hardly anything left for eyebrows and decided to go see Amy after reading so many positive reviews! I drove 5 hours each way just to have Amy work her magic! Well I will tell you that I could not be happier! The first appointment she takes face and eyebrow measurements, then she hand draws, puts numbing ointment on and the micro blading begins. The touch up appointment is IMPERATIVE and I can not stress that enough. She again measures, marks, numbs and begins filling in lost pigment that occurs with EVERYONE after the initial appointment. I was there yesterday and am "over the moon" happy. In ending I hope this will help those who REALLY want Perfection in their eyebrows to go and see Amy. Don't get your eyebrows tattooed people EVER! It will be the biggest mistake you make. Fixing them WILL cost you... A LOT!! I have had my eyebrows done by Mae at FacesPlus 3 times over the past 10 years, but decided to go with Amy this time because I wanted a particular style that I knew would be difficult to achieve (like most people, my natural eyebrows don't match exactly). While Mae at FP is good, she doesn't spend very much time with her clients (in and out within 30 mins) and doesn't listen very well to non-Chinese speaking clients; so the eyebrows you end up with from Mae look okay, but may not be exactly what you want. Amy spends 2 hours with you; first meticulously making sure the shape is what you want, then perfecting the line strokes for a very natural look. Not only was Amy able to make my eyebrows balanced (Mae was not able to do this), but she totally listened to my input during the whole process. You will not get that at FacesPlus. So even though Amy cost twice as much as Mae, she really is worth every penny! read more
