Have a 07, 5 series and needed 100k service, plus oil filter housing gasket/oil pan gasket leaking issues. Evan looked over a competitor estimate and stated he could discount labor involved. Took one day for all work to be completed and Evan personally test drove vehicle with no followup issues. (Located within walking distance, to Dublin Bart ) A week later, developed unrelated radiator hose leak, which was promptly diagnosed (O ring replacement) and repaired. Evan stated there would no charge, as a customer courtesy. I initially called with an inquiry about getting an oil change and transmission fluid service on my 2010 VW GTI with DSG. My water pump went out on my bmw 335i, after getting it quoted at several local shops and the bmw dealer. I called the Performance Autowerk which was recommended by the dealership I had purchased the car from and spoke with Even. He was able to get my car in and get to work on it within only a couple of hours while coming in at a much more reasonable price than anywhere else I had called. I found Performance Autowerk on Yelp when I was looking for a performance/mod shop that could help me with some mods for my Audi S5. I was really impressed with Evan's passion and knowledge -- awesome experience, he's seen it all! I originally went to Performance Autowerk because a local VW dealer told me that my 2004 R32 needed $8k worth of work. Evan was highly rated on several websites so I took my car to him for a second opinion. He looked over each of the issues that was highlighted and then did something that no mechanic has ever done with me - he took me over to the car while it was up on the lift and showed me each item that was on the list and talked about his opinion on whether they needed to be repaired now, later, or not at all. He helped me understand why the dealer had said that something needed to be fixed/replaced and then we talked about why Evan did or did not feel that it needed to be fix/replaced. We talked about the likelihood of future failure, the consequences of that failure, and the true cost of repair. It was an actual consultative approach that was incredibly refreshing. We decided on what work needed to be done and it was taken care of extremely professionally within a couple of days. I take my car on the racetrack 6-7 times per year and have been looking for someone to take care of it that understands what cars go through on the track. On my very next track day at Thunderhill raceway, I noticed the "Performance Autowerk" BMW (it is a customer car, but has the name prominently emblazoned on it) at the track. I walked over there and saw that Evan was actually working on the car. He said that the customer had been having problems that he just couldn't pin down on Mondays after the track days, so he decided to come out to the track on his own time to look at the car while it was having the issues. This totally sold me on Evan and Performance Autowerk. Finally, I had been having issues with my front brakes overheating on the track. Evan and I worked together to figure out a solution and then he custom-fabricated some aluminum scoops that attach to the front control arms and redirect airflow to the brakes. It resulted in my rotors going from nearly 1,000 degrees after a session down to about 800 degrees after a session and my brake pad wear going from about 2mm per track day to less than 1mm per track day (at Thunderhill). Since then, he has been taking outstanding care of my car. He is always accommodating to my schedule and his team have worked past closing time on more than one occasion to finish the work on my car so that I can drive it home same day. If there is a more skilled, honest and professional mechanic out there - I certainly have not met them. read more

I had an excellent experience with Evan and was quite satisfied with all stages of the repair on my car. The shop is clean and organized which shows an intangible aspect of the quality of work. Evan was very personable and good for conversation, I didn't get the feeling of him hurrying anything as he created a level of trust. Pics of before and after were taken to help explain specifics of my service followed by a full explanation of how he performed the job. This was great as my issue was carbon buildup on the valves due to direct injection and the cleaning isn't a simple part replacement but instead is a skill that takes experience. Within 20 minutes I knew what was wrong what was going to be repaired and how much it was going to cost. These guys get booked up quickly so my delay in grabbing an appointment that Wednesday pushed me out to Monday for the work to be performed. As promised they completed the job and made sure no other issues were apparent. This was two weeks ago. Today I stopped by because I called and said my key fob wasn't opening the car and they said bring it by and we'll reprogram it real quick - and they did! No charge. Also having an issue with the light and door ajar bell not going off so Brian said he'd research it and get back to me. Awesome service. Having seen all the positive reviews, reason for my visit, I was apprehensive and even asked them if they had 62 friends posting reviews:-). My reason for the visit was that the dealer, as a result of me getting 4 wheel alignment, informed me that the upper control arms on my 550 GT were bent and needed replacement for the camber to get within specs. I was quoted 1000+ for parts and 700+ for labor plus the realignment which runs 200. I found the OEM parts for 362 and saved over 500 in labor. The facilities are minimal but I do not know very many people who visit a repair shop for ambiance. The have a customer for life, especially when my warranty expires in a little over 1 year. read more
