If you need an honest, knowledgeable, and fairly priced auto repair shop near Gold River or Rancho Cordova, I'd definitely recommend them. They've worked on my 2017 Ford Transit Connect, 2014 Mercedes GL63, and 2014 BMW X5. They replaced a driver-side CV axle, did oil changes, replaced brake pads and rotors, diagnosed and fixed an A/C and heater blower issue, repaired a trunk/liftgate problem, and also replaced a valve cover and gasket and battery. What stood out to me most was how knowledgeable, honest, and fair Samson and his team were throughout the process. The staff are friendly, the front desk is welcoming, and the customer service has been great. It's hard to find a shop that does quality work at reasonable prices, but 916 Auto Repair has done that for me. Definitely recommended.

My AC Drier was cracked and inoperable since last year. In this region of the Sacramento Valley and Placer County, 916 Auto quote beat 5 shops I contacted in the region and 1 shop even told me it's not worth it and I should get a new car. Bet if my car was a 69 Camaro, they'd do it. Why? Cause its a Classic Camaro. No matter the condition. Some shops don't want to work on Imports. But oh well. Their loss, not mine. I contacted 916 Auto and spoke to Samson to schedule an appointment and he said to come by that very same day. And so I drove from Roseville to Gold River that morning. Samson is honest & to the point. When he pulled my car in, he noticed a coolant leak. Now I didn't notice any leaks in my driveway, as it would seem the Coolant is evaporating or dissipating, but he notice it was getting on my Alternator, by the stains. It turns out, my OEM water pump (factory part since 2003 for this model year in 2004) finally gave out at 262K miles. Who'd ever think a Mazda/Ford part would last this long. This was an unexpected thought as I only had budgeted for the quote. So I called my CFO (Wife) and let her know of the issue. She said get it fixed and she'll adjust other expenses as she knows I need AC for the upcoming summer temps. So I authorized Samson to proceed with the entire job. Now I can't couldn't do any price comparison, but he did give me a discount which still fit in my overall budget. I spent my whole day in their lobby. They have updated their lobby to make it feel more comfortable and less Auto Shop feel. I notice the many people who drop by to have their car service are all happy and are returning customers. From a Dealership oil drain plug that was torqued too tight, to oil changes, brakes, and even a customer who was a bit upset where the Dealership sent the wrong part twice. The Dealership. I spoke to many of them and they all had the same answer when I ask. "What made you come here?" They replied, "Their price can't be beat!". In summary, my AC is now working as it should. Now I only used my AC for 2 whole days It gets cold and it has been awhile since I have felt cold in my aging car of 22 years. With my new water pump installed as well, my car is running smoother overall. Smoother shifts, heater gets warm fast. Almost, now almost like it was in 2004. So, Did I find a new shop for my Project Commuter Car? Yes I sure did. They have gotten a new customer. Up next is my Transmission Gasket & plug. One thing at a time! Phill was a lifesaver! He responded to our request immediately and came right to our house super quickly on a weekend. He went out of his way to diagnose the problem, go get the part, and fix it all within a few short hours. His work was top-notch and reasonably priced. Not to mention how nice he was! He could tell how stressful the situation was and was super determined to help us out. Power steering pump replacement was not STRESS FREE AS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. I took my car there on…read morea recommendation from a good friend. They replaced the pump for me. Stress Free had to bleed the lines and steam clean my engine after replacement. I had to have the car towed by AAA 48 hours after replacement because fluid had leaked all over the engine and garage floor. I had already taken the car back to Stress Free with an issue after the replacement. See pictures and listen to the noise the car was making 48 hours after replacement. Less than a week later, the car went into limp mode when I was driving home from school and had to be taken to Folsom Lake Honda. Car had no issues until I took it to Stress Free for power steering replacement. Not only did I refuse to bring my car back to Stress Free to fix it after giving them 3 chances including install to get it right. Their corporate office has not responded to the letter I sent them via certified mail; yet I have documentation they received the letter. I would steer clear of this place for any service. If I didn't have a full time job plus college classes, I would take them to small claims court and or file a claim with the Bureau of Automotive Repair.

For those who aren't familiar, this is where Riley (the main street of Folsom) splits into the two major roads that run through Orangevale and Citrus Heights to Sacramento and Roseville. I felt like I was on display with my popped tire. So embarrassing. One of my friends told me I should be grateful that this happened in town rather than out in the woods, which was a valid point. I filled my tire up at Arco, and rolled in to this Les Schwab, where I was informed that my two front tires needed to be replaced. I was not happy about this. I'd just driven like 12 hours straight, and was trying to just dip into my storage before turning right back around. Plus, I was pretty sure I'd had a tire patched not very long ago (it turned out to be like four months ago). But, when we went out and looked at the tires, and they showed me the tread depth reading compared to when I should have replaced my tires, I realized I was in the wrong. They were fully booked for the day, but fortunately the manager was able to squeeze me in, considering that I was camping out of my car. I drove the tires home across two states, and have driven all over Washington since... and they've held up fine so far. I only wish I had gotten better tires, which I'm sure I would have done if I had more time to think and shop for a better deal. They do have a 60 day exchange policy and a sale going on... I might upgrade my whole set, but if so, it will be at a local store. Overall, I was very satisfied with the work they did and grateful they were able to squeeze me in and find me the best deal available at the time.

I made an appointment actually at America's Tire and ended up waiting almost an hour because I just…read morewanted my tires rotated (no purchase so people buying tires went ahead). They tried the hard sell on balancing the tires and tried selling me a brand new spare tire and wheel. I just kept saying NO. After my car finally went into a bay, the worker comes in and tells me my lug nuts are "Swollen" and for me to come see. The guy tried to sell me a new set of lug nuts for $130! Then he says he can't even put my lug nuts he took off back on because of "Safety Concerns". I told him to put my car together just like it came in and I would take it somewhere else. Eventually I got my car back. Everything was a hard sell and truth stretching. So then I went to Les Schwab just down the street and told them of my experience. The guys were super nice - no hard sell here. A very polite young man named Jacob checked all the tires and air checked them all. He also checked the lug nuts and did find some that had internal corrosion. He explained that there was a steel living with an aluminum outer shell that can get water or salt inside. A socket might not go on easily. He said he could order a set for us. He was a good guy...no lying about safety and no arm twisting. A respectable guy. Guess where I will be buying my tires from now on!

He was professional, attentive, and kept me informed every step of the way. He made the entire process smooth and stress-free, answering all my questions with patience and clarity. I truly felt taken care of and appreciated his honesty and efficiency. It's rare to find such excellent customer service these days but Thomas definitely goes above and beyond. I bought a used Tesla from this dealership in February because I needed a vehicle immediately and…read moredidn't have another car. It was late in the day, the sun was setting, and I did the best inspection I could under the circumstances. At the time, I noticed the plastic trim on the outer side of the driver's seat wasn't sitting flush. Before moving forward, I specifically asked the salesperson if there was any other damage I should know about. He told me, "Nope." That turned out to be false. Since buying the car, I've discovered issue after issue that appears to have been hidden, poorly repaired, or temporarily covered up. On the drive home, I noticed a windshield crack that only showed when headlights hit it. The next day, I found deep circular scratches all over the hood. I later noticed the rear seat upholstery separating near the door. Then the passenger window switch popped out of its housing, and when I opened the door panel, the internal housing was clearly damaged. That was not normal wear. That looked like prior damage that had been covered up. Later, a plastic trim piece in the trunk simply fell off when I opened it, again showing signs of a cheap cover-up rather than a proper repair. Now, the driver's headrest has started wearing through, revealing what appears to be previous damage that was concealed before sale. Tesla does not sell the headrest separately, meaning this could require replacing the entire seat. I understand that used cars can have wear and tear. I also understand that I should have inspected the vehicle more carefully. But there is a big difference between normal used-car wear and multiple hidden issues that appear to have been patched, covered, or concealed just long enough to get the car sold. What bothers me, is that I directly asked if there was any other damage, and I was told no. Based on everything I've found since, I do not believe that was an honest answer. I strongly recommend avoiding this dealership. At minimum, do not trust their word, do not inspect a vehicle there at night, and do not assume anything has been properly disclosed. In my experience, this car had multiple issues that looked covered up rather than repaired, and I would not want another buyer to end up with a lemon car.
