I found them horrible to deal with. I had a very unique situation and they couldn't have cared less. My son wrecked his car right after we mailed in the title to DMV to put it in his name. I'm trying to pay their $400 and sign over the title but I don't have it from DMV yet. They keep shrinking the window for me to use this option. It appears they want to take advantage of a situation that is unfortunate and out of my control so they can charge me a boat load of money AND take the car. And dishonest in the process. read more

These people are shady as hell, and they know you're at their mercy to get your car, so they exploit that to the fullest! Folsom PD needs to stop using them to recover stolen vehicles, because the owner of the vehicle ends up being the victim of two crimes -- first the theft of the car, and then being totally ripped off by this towing company. I will update as I discover more agencies victims can file a complaint with. It's impossible for me to make this stuff up. This morning, Shauna, the owner of Folsom Lake Towing, called my boss. The woman lied and claimed I used my place of employment to write false negative reviews about her towing company. Shauna was told by my boss that I was free to write a review on my account. In the background, Shauna's secretary was yelling. Tell them we're contacting our attorney. We'll sue them." This is the fourth time I've been contacted at my workplace. In my review, I did not write anything that was false. In fact, I am able to back up every statement I made. The problem here is that Shauna broke the law. Legally, she could not require a notarized signature. Legally, she could not sell the vehicle within 30 days. We had 30 days to retrieve my friend's vehicle and personal belongings. When someone is desperate and willing to do whatever it takes, even risking their job, in order to have a negative review removed of them, my employer is educated and has common sense, so I appreciate my employer for being so aware. If Shauna had known my employer heard Folsom Lake Tow's secretary tell me to "F off" and call me a b@@ch, she would have tried a different tactic. read more

I was in a car accident on East Bidwell. Shauna was there promptly with very little wait on my part. She was very kind and her first concern was whether I was O.K. (My car was totaled, but I had no injuries, neither did the other occupants of the other car.) She texted me that evening as a follow up to see if I was still O.K. (I was.) Had my non running project car moved from my incline driveway into my garage. I called and told them my issue (vehicle is in the driveway and not the garage because the last tow truck driver from a different company said he couldn't do it). Folsom Lake Towing said they could do it no problem. Next day they came out a few minutes early, got it done in about 20 minutes and it was all done. She must really hate her job because the way she talks to customers shows it. I called yesterday needing a tow because I thought my starter had died. I was told Shauna would be at my house this morning at 11. I had a great experience with Folsom Towing. My car wouldn't start on Saturday, and so I called them on Sunday to get a tow to a local mechanic. Their quoted price was lower than the other main tow company in Folsom. The lady on the phone told me the mechanic was closed on Sunday, so I decided to get a tow the next morning and made an appointment. She also offered to try to jump start the car first, which would save me $45 off the regular tow. The driver was there as scheduled. He did manage to jump it with a handy little hand-held gadget that didn't even require him to hook up to his truck. The car ran for about a minute and then died again. So he jumped it again and left the jumper connected for a few minutes. This seemed to do the trick. I was nervous that it was going to die again on the way to the mechanic, so I asked him for his personal phone number in case I needed him on the way. He said he was just going to follow me over there. I thought that was great customer service. It didn't cost me anything, and I was reassured that if my car died, I had a tow truck literally right behind me. So I thought they did a great job, they saved me some money, and gave me service that was beyond what I had paid for. I'd definitely recommend them. read more

Broke down on the side of the road today and these guys (troy especially) were life savers! Originally called a different tow company who not only quoted me 30 dollars more, but also told me itd take an hour to an hour and 15 mins for them to get there. Uhm no i dont think so! It was 106 today, way to hot to be sitting on the side of the road for that long. Troy was great! He was there within 15-20 mins and it cost me less than i originally thought it would. There was no notice on my door and no one "took the time" to call me before taking my car out of my stall! So tell me a company that tows my vehicle from Carmichael to Folsom charges an outrageous fee and then as opposed to billing me for the service and allowing me anytime to pay, sends me a Notice of Lien! Not only that but the lien indicates that he picked up the vehicle on 4/20, I was billed on 4/24 yet the Lien was Certified on 4/23. I was never billed. First I heard from them was the Lien notice. This all happened in 4 days. My vehicle was picked up from them on 4/23 and taken to the repair shop. I will do all in my power to spread the word of this ridiculous business practice and seek legal advice. Never again. BBB complaint filed as well. read more

What a scam. $215 to tow a car 4 miles. $50 a day for storage when they tell you that you can't get it out on Saturday or Sunday. Then they tell you it's $105 if you want to get stuff out of your car on the weekend. Charged for an extra day. Picked up the car after midnight but charged for the previous day. I wish I could give a zero rating. I don't care that my car got towed but they broke my window and are denying it. The tow slip even says there was no damage to my car but when I picked it up the driver side window was cracked. At first they said the don't pop the lock and then they said they only pop the passenger side lock and then they said they have a strict policy that if a tow employee damages a vehicle they get fired but they said they would check with the employee who towed my car to see if he broke the window. Why would he admit to it if he will lose his job? I never heard back from them and now I have to deal with the better business bureau and I'm driving around in 100+ heat with two kids in the car with a cracked window!!! Not safe!! So I am being told I need to be more specific. On DECEMBER 23rd we had a vehicle towed. The driver that showed up was all over the place. We believe he was on some sort of narcotic. After we complained to the owner she was rude as can be. Did not care about our concerns and basically told us to piss up a rope. We live in the local area and try to support local companies but felt like they do not care at all about safety. Please do not use this company if you care at all about your property and or your loved ones safety. Yelp keeps taking this down. Recently had an accident on the Folsom bridge, needed a tow 1.2 miles to Tony's Personal Auto Care. A police officer told me I was looking at about $100 for the tow and made the call. They man towed the car without asking any questions. The car was unloaded at the mechanic shop within 30 minutes of the original call. The driver charged me $180 without having first given me a cost. Because I accepted service before asking the price, I was obliged to pay it. That was my first terrible experience. My second experience was when the owner of the Auto shop informed me that he had a deal with the same company to perform $75 tows from his shop to nearby locations. I called up and mentioned this to the receptionist at Folsom Lake towing and she told me that they aren't doing that deal anymore and that it would be $90. I asked her if the owner of the auto shop was aware of this and she said yes. I asked her if she informed him since this morning when he gave me the reference and she said yes. I told her I would investigate some other options and call back. I called back and another man picked up (I believe it was the man who towed me in experience 1). He told me that it would be $120 to tow the car. I told him that the secretary had just quoted me $90. He put me on hold and then came back and said that she was wrong it should be $120 for a 3.3 mile tow. I told him that I was tired of the lies and confusion and that I would rather look for another option. Terrible customer service. They are hustlers. DO NOT USE AT ALL COSTS. The owner charged me $115 because she stated, that they had to have an employee meet me at the tow yard to get my car out. The guy actually lives in a trailer on the premises, he is there the whole time. Granted this was only 9:30 pm. What a scam they are connected to the property management company next to Out of Bounds and are running a scam taking unsuspecting people's vehicles. I was having trouble starting my car. I called about a quote for a tow to my nearby dealership, and was told the driver would call me right back. 50 minutes later nothing. I called back to see what was going on and was put in contact with the driver who said, the truck that was supposed to be here broke down and they were trying to figure something out, but don't know when it would be, possibly another 1-1.5 hours. While I understand things happen, obviously, it would've been nice to get a courtesy call to say there would be a delay. I just wanted to find out how much it would cost me before they sent out a driver anyway. read more
