Mahana bowl with garlic tofu, roasted mushrooms and Buffalo cauliflower
    Quincy V.

Good food with quality ingredients and vegan options!. I really appreciate that their menu is crystal clear about what's vegan and/or gluten-free. There's no guesswork at all and the their app even lets you identify any food allergies you might have. I ordered a Mahana bowl with garlic tofu, roasted mushrooms and Buffalo cauliflower. The coconut sweet potato sauce. The bowl was light, but had a good balance between healthy and flavorful. The price was reasonable as well. Idaho does not have a lot of vegan food options for a traveler like me, but I was happy to try a bowl at Mahana Fresh!

THE BEST Fresh GF in Idaho Falls! Good mood definitely starts with good food From Ahi to Chicken then back to steak! Noodles, veggies, and sweet potato carbs!! This place is mind blowingly good! The best part.....Freakin DOLE WHIP!! Yes DOLE WHIP!! Like Disneyland! All Gluten free too which gives all of us free rein to pick and choose anything including the sauces! I can't say enough!! I just can't wow

    Spicy Ahi Tuna 'bowl'

The guys at the counter were super friendly. The portions they serve are good for the price you pay. Flavor is good, and YES, the tuna is raw. Didn't expect much for raw tuna in Idaho Falls but was pleased to surprised. Brussels sprouts tasted good too. Only knock in the cold sesame noodles were "meh". Overall will go back when in town for work

Build-your-own bowl with spinach, broccoli, brussels sprouts, tofu, and citrus ginger

I was really grateful to find a restaurant with so many vegetarian and gluten-free options when I visited Idaho Falls on my way to the Craters of the Moon National Monument! It was awesome that everything was labeled incredibly clearly, and the staff was both knowledgeable about the ingredients in their food but also incredibly patient, kind, and accommodating of my dietary restrictions. Their app and website are also incredibly informative and have full lists of the ingredients and nutritional information for each menu item. Although Mahana Fresh was undeniably accessible and accommodating, the food itself was...alright. It was certainly refreshing to have some fresh vegetables and a vegetarian option that actually contained protein in it after a long road trip filled with...none of those things, but I don't think I could see myself wanting to frequent this spot if I actually lived in town. The honey sriracha brussels sprouts were tasty and delightfully spicy, but a bit too sweet for my taste (which, of course, I should have guessed from the word "honey" in the name). The sesame ginger broccoli was solid, and the bites of garlicky cilantro green beans that I stole from my dad's plate were also quite delicious. My mom's roasted sweet potatoes were, unfortunately, overcooked and way too salty, yet simultaneously lacking in flavor. Also, while I understand that Mahana Fresh is a fast-casual restaurant, many of the vegetables and proteins were all kept over the hot plate of death for what seemed like many hours, so nothing really felt "fresh." I did really enjoy the sesame garlic tofu, though, although I would have preferred to have the protein warmed (it was served cold, which was odd, considering that all of the other proteins, aside from the poke, were kept warm...although, in hindsight, considering how the vegetables fared over the hot plate, perhaps having cold tofu was a blessing in disguise). The citrus ginger was solid -- it was basically like the carrot ginger dressing traditionally served at Japanese restaurants with a stronger orange flavor. My father wasn't the world's biggest fan of the creamy wasabi, though, and had a few stomach issues a few hours after our meal here. Overall, if you're on a pan-America road trip and happen to be crossing through Idaho Falls, chances are that you've been a bit deprived of vegetables and good, clean, healthy food for at least a few days. I would definitely recommend dropping by Mahana Fresh to give your body a break from the fast food or random grocery store items, but it's by no means a must-try. Also definitely recommend giving Mahana Fresh a try if you have a lot of dietary restrictions and have been struggling to find restaurants in the area that are able to accommodate you!

April 2026 Idaho Falls, Idaho…read more I was surprised to see this place is attached to a hotel when I drove up. Typically I do not eat at restaurants that are attached to a hotel. However, Yelp told me it was a 4.3 star place to eat. I asked if they had any nonalcoholic beers. The waiter brings me a can of beer to show me what it is. When I tell him that I will have it. He says well I'll just take it back and put it in a glass. So they bring me a 16 ounce glass with the beer poured in and it only filled 12 ounces. I ordered the Nacho Mama's Dip. It is a chicken nacho dip. The waiter told me it was a large portion so I am eating that just as my meal. My husband ordered the fish and chips. When you walk in the front door, the bar is right there. Pretty large bar for one to sit and enjoy a drink or a meal. To the right our booths and high tables that line the wall as well as some booths in the middle of the restaurant that make you feel like you are sitting under a gazebo. There are tables and booths on the far wall as well. The tables are cut to appear like a live edge wood top table. The booths sit too low and the table sits high. Even my husband who is 6'2 felt an imbalance with the table to chair. My nachos come out and the cheese sauce is dripping off the side of the dish. It is an absolute mess. The nacho chips are off to the side. The toppings consist of black olives and onions with four pieces of diced tomatoes. Accompanied by a side plastic dish is salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. The guacamole is definitely not homemade. My biggest complaint is the cheese sauce is definitely from a can. The cheese that they did put on the nachos was a slice of cheese that was not even melted. See picture. Reminds me that I am eating in a restaurant attached to a hotel. There are no beans. The chicken is mixed in with the cheese sauce. And it is sparingly there. This dish is absolutely disgusting! The fish and chips were terrible. They're served in a basket with four pieces of fish and they sit upon fresh cut fries. The fish was not good. The batter has a odd taste. Perhaps the oil it is fried in? I think I would've been better off going to Culver's and having their fish platter. Although my beYr was in a can, it was very cold. It was truly the best part of my meal. I am so disappointed that yelp led me to this place. This is my warning to others. Stay away. We had two completely different meals and neither of them were good.

WHAT HAPPENED: When they're busy, they typically don't have enough servers on. This was something we had already been warned about, and got to witness it first hand. I had a couple of beers that I expected to be charged for, but my other half's coffee refills? I mean come on. The place is overly priced to begin with, the food was not fantastic. They were riding on their legacy name. Surviving by tourist seasons of the Innocent unsuspecting. We've eaten here for years now. It's our fave for Mexican food in I.F.!…read more Morenita's is a small & simple place -- but don't let that deter you. They ROCK IT for authentic Mexican food! And they have the Mexican ladies in the kitchen to prove it IS the real deal. (Be sure to tell them "¡Gracias!" when you pick up your food at the high-counter pickup window. Even tho' you can't see them, they can usually hear you! Makes their day. Better still, drop 'em a tip when you pay - they really appreciate it.) Morenita's TACOS are the best in town! They have the house-cooked meat of your choice. Be ready to state your meat pref. at the register. They will ask for your choice. (See my attached MENU PICS for Meat Options.) Most TACOS are made with a larger-sized, white corn tortilla - that oddly but wonderfully tastes like a mix of corn and flour! SO good! (Their "STREET TACO is smaller.) TYPES OF TACOS: Not sure what kind of taco to get? * CHUCHE: Opt for the CHUCHE TACO if you don't need a lot of fanfare (extra toppings), and you like a crisp cabbage crunch in every bite, + some melted cheesy goodness. * RANCHERO: If you DO like all the fixin's - including (a few/not too much) WHOLE beans, pico, onion, tomato, cilantro, avocado, sour cream + a little kick of jalapeño - the TACO RANCHERO is my first-choice fave! * SUPREME: If you like all that same stuff (w/ your choice of meat) - but prefer REFRIED beans and NO jalapeños - go for the TACO SUPREME. OTHER ITEMS: PIZOPE: If you're really hungry, the PIZOPE has similar toppings as a taco, but is a LOT more food! (And cheese.) The PIZOPE is super filling, and great for 2 to share if you don't have big appetites. NACHOS: The SUPER NACHOS are a big win for a family or group 'cuz they're so easily shared - and are just a HUGE pile of delish! (While I HAVE seen a hungry teenage boy or two eat them ALL before, it's rare for most people to finish a plate alone!) About their MEAT CHOICES: * You can never go wrong with their tender BARBACOA (shredded BEEF). There is a 50c or $1 upcharge for that on most dishes. * CARNITAS (shredded PORK) is a popular, delish meat choice, with no upcharge. * I personally find the grilled steak, CARNE ASADA, to be rather dry and gristly for my own pref. But others seem to like it. No upcharge. * If you're feeling adventurous, you must try the BEEF CHEEK as a meat choice! It is super tender & full of flavor! Upcharge applies (50c for tacos, $1 for burritos, as examples.) * FISH (Tilapia) currently (Jan. 2026) has a high cost for substituting as a meat choice. But there is no upcharge for a FISH TACO, as far as I know. HOW THE PLACE ROLLS: * At Morenita's you pay upon ordering, so no tip is required. (But I personally think the sweet older ladies who bus the tables as fast as they can keep up - and work SO hard to keep the restaurant clean, even when the line goes out the door at times - are very deserving of even a minimal or modest tip.) * After you order you will seat yourself at a booth or a table. Be aware that it's a very small place, so seating is "cozy" - so if it's a busy time, you will sit quite close to others. (At the busiest times you may need to take your meal To Go.) * You will listen for your ticket #, found in a black box near top of the receipt. That # will be called out in English and Spanish from the cash register area. TIP: Ask your phone how to say that number in Spanish. (As a Spanish teacher/translator, I hear it better in Spanish than I do in English now, haha!) * When done eating, you clear your own table. Use the trash cans at the back, or at the front by the main door. (Don't throw away their plates or silverware!) If you do not bus it, then please, kindly leave a cash tip for the ladies who bus it for you. * SAUCES IN THE MINI-FRIDGE! Stop at the fridge in the back to grab a couple bottles of SAUCE! Just be sure to put them back when you're done with 'em! And if it's really busy, sauce up at your table and run them back, asap. Our faves: * CHIPOTLE SAUCE (light orange) = mild & creamy * GREEN SAUCE w/ SEEDS = medium PARTING WORDS OF WISDOM: Common courtesy prevails at a cozy, often busy little place like Morenita's! From the parking lot to table clean-up, we can make the dining experience of others better by being helpful, patient, kind, and friendly. We can make someone's day better. This is America, and it's Idaho! May we each be the good example of civility and kindness we ought to be. Let's treat others who may be strangers to us, like friends and family. 'Strangers' are friends we just don't know yet. And we can also show appreciation for the hard workers in our great town who provide a clean place to eat, and a warm, delicious meal when we want it. Honestly, it's hard to go wrong with green chille & cheese, but some manage to. Morenitas smothers their's in a tasty red sauce. They have a wide variety of drinks, and wide selection of beers( pretty sure all bottled) the service, there was no communication gap. It was high energy, talkative, helpful, and she seemed genuinely happy to be there--nice change. They give you a buzzer to come pick up your food. It was amazingly delicious, I normally think of takeout as a poor substitute. After I left the hospital, I was still convalescing, and my brother and sister-in-law had sent a door dash gift certificate, so we continued to order take-out. We love spicy food, so tried ordering it "Thai Hot" as they told us to do, rather than "American hot". And indeed, that's how it came, beautifully spicy! We used up the gift by ordering from Dee Kitchen multiple times, and every time it was perfect. I've been back to eat in once since then, and they said they realized it was "us" by the fact we ordered it Thai hot and also they were our favorite dishes. Shows how much we like Dee Kitchen!

Although I reviewed Dee Kitchen in November 2022, it's time to update how this business is faring…read moresince then. I am still impressed. They continue to provide great food at a good price. I tried them again in July of 2025 and had their Beef Salad with the Green Curry vegetable dish. Both were excellent. I got them spicy and they actually believed me when I said I like Thai hot. It was wonderful tasting. It's a fantastic place if you like Thai food. They are very good at spicing the foods at a level the customer requests. The food comes out hot and on time, unless it's one of those days where everyone wants to dine there. Then there might be a wait. But for good food I'm willing to wait and Dee Kitchen has good food.
