I am updating my review of Perkin's after giving them another chance. Went in their for breakfast with a friend who convinced me their pancakes were better than IHOP's. I was reluctant but went. Since then, I have fallen in love with their breakfasts. Their omlette's, hotcakes, hashbrowns are all great and we've had some very nice servers. The place has been cleaned up a bit too. Maybe they changed their carpets? It smelled fresher. Perhaps I was too hard and judgmental on that first visit. I'm sorry. read more

It took 7 minutes to get greeted, once our food came out, no one checked on us. Our server finally came by when we were halfway through and we realized our eggs had two hairs inside them. Our server said "Really?" and left the food on the table, and walked off. The cook came to our table and said sorry, we found another hair on the sausage, they looked like beard hair. Then waiting 12 minutes for our check, we asked the manager for it and she told us they took care of our bill. I don't mind paying for my food, but to receive terrible service on top of the hair in the food, maybe if the service was better she would've received a tip. read more

Excellent food, pie, and the coffee is amazing. The servers were friendly. The newly remodeled restaurant was a nice surprise. We enjoyed our dinner far more than we expected to. We will absolutely be back. read more

I had a craving for Perkins pie and I thought "why not?" I was very pleasantly surprised. For having been through the lunch rush, the place was very clean, I was seated and waited on very quickly. Food was hot, I wanted crisper bacon on my sandwich, no issue. I don't think it's the bargain of the century or the very best food, but it was quick and easy and better than fast food. And I got my slice of French silk pie out of my system - so I'm happy. I'd recommend and will come back for bfast I'm sure. read more

Haven't been to this location in over 6 years. My last visit there where cockroaches crawling on the table. I seen this location had recently been remodeled so I thought I'd give it a chance. Sat down and order drinks... Needless to stay this place still gives me the chills. I peeked back in the kitchen ( not a great site). Used the restrooms, dead bugs on floor. We paid for the drinks and left. read more

Walked from nearby hotel since Perkins was the only place to eat on that side of highway. After sitting for 15 minutes with no server showing up to get drinks or order. Manager and other servers looked at us but no help. We got up and braved walking along the busy highway and roads in the dark to excellent food across Hwy 50. read more

It's been awhile since we've been here because the service is usually below par, as it was tonight. They got 3 stars as the food was really good. Chicken fried steak and chicken biscuit breakfast was great! Manager apologized for poor service and they looked short-handed. Won't go back on a Saturday night. read more

We came here because it is near our hotel and we had acquired a coupon for 20% OFF of our bill. My wife and I were promptly seated in a booth that needed the table cleaned. It was wiped down in relatively short order but it was left very wet. Since I was unable to attract anyone's attention, I used my handkerchief to dry the table. The waitress finally returned and my wife then ordered her lunch which was the lunch duo with the avocado BLT sandwich and a garden salad with ranch dressing and a peach ice tea. I ordered the lunch trio with a loaded potato soup, roast beef and cheese sandwich and the cobb salad with ranch and also the peach ice tea. We selected these meals because we had eaten the same meals at a Perkins Restaurant in Altoona, Iowa the previous day and thoroughly enjoyed them. The drinks arrived in good time but were slammed down on the table. We sat chatting while we awaited our soup and salad. The hostess (manager?) came past and we mentioned to her that we would like to have our soup and salad at the beginning of the meal if possible. She stated that she would get the waitress to bring them and IF not she would take care of it. The waitress FINALLY arrived with the salad and placed it in front of my wife. Then she proceeded to spill my soup on the floor and narrowly missed my wife's recently repaired knee. She stated that she would get another. My wife then proceeded to eat her garden salad which was more like a vegetable salad in that it was full of carrots and cabbage but practically no lettuce. My soup finally came and it was as good as I had hoped. then our sandwiches came. But no cobb salad for me. My wife's sandwich toasted bread was ice cold and the avocado was in VERY LARGE chunks for a sandwich. My sandwich looked like a refugee from a war camp that hadn't eaten in weeks. It was very puny and unappetizing (I did subsequently eat it and it was marginal at best). The hostess/manager again returned to our table and inquired if all was okay. I stated that I still had not received my cobb salad and that I liked to have my meal brought out at one time and not one plate at a time. My sandwich sat on the table until such time as I received my salad which was a significant amount of time later. While eating, the waitress came by and stated that our meals would be taken care of by the hostess/manager. We said nothing. As we finished up, the waitress came by and stated that she would have our ticket to the front register shortly. we were confused since we were led to believe that our meal was going to be "taken care" of. Nonetheless, we went to the register where we learned that my wife's meal was removed from the bill (the lesser charge of the two) and that our bill was $17.22. The coupon I had was accepted and we got a couple of cookies and our final bill was $15.05. As we were leaving, I noticed a young boy about 8 years old who appeared to be related to the hostess/manager cleaning various areas of the restaurant. I guess that was a means of saving money on either baby-sitting fees or employee fees or both. The hostess/manager blamed our poor service on the weather, the moon, and everything EXCEPT poor training or poor employee attitudes. Staff is very nice in the morning. My mom loves to come here and the food is edible but not an enjoyable meal.

We use to eat here frequently, however the service has completely gone down the tubes. There use to be a manager at this location that cracked the whip and kept things on track, but I have not seen her the last few times I have been there. On Saturday 11-16-13 we visited the restaurant, we were seated and waited for 20 minutes for a waitress to come to our table. No one ever came, so we got up and left. If there is any question why Perkins was recently in bankruptcy, just visit this restaurant. read more

Ate breakfast this morning, went on line and noticed there was not a recent review, seated promptly, given coffee quickly, breakfast was good, waitresses were good, manager stopped by, the restaurant is old but kept very nice and clean! We had not been in quite awhile but we will be back soon! read more

have to agree with adam I have been to this Perkins a few times and it never changes, the service is poor and I would rather eat at Mcdonald's or Jack in the box than this low class place, they should close this place down and open something worthwhile read more
