Half Order biscuits and gravy and breakfast potatoes
Jenny S.

Stopped by The Big Biscuit on a Thursday morning, and it did not disappoint. The menu was huge, but I had to go with corned beef hash and eggs because that's how I judge breakfast spots. It was crispy, flavorful, and perfect with scrambled eggs. I added gravy on my hashbrowns and a biscuit because when you're at The Big Biscuit, you get a biscuit...or so I was told. My husband had the country-fried steak and declared it one of the best he's ever had. The decor is kitschy and uniqu,e with so many fun things to look at while you eat. Our server was super friendly, kept our drinks full, and even gave us to-go cups so we could stay caffeinated for the rest of the morning. Definitely coming back next time we're in town.

I've been to The Big Biscuit in Blue Springs many times over the years and most of the time have had a pleasant experience. Today was a horrible experience. I walked in and it took forever for someone to seat me. I sat at the bar and ordered biscuits & gravy. They were Barely warm, so the manager brought me another order which was fine. He was the only person to be nice to me the entire time. Once I was finished, it took a very long time to get my check (the place wasn't very busy). My bill came to $9.77. I gave her a $20 dollar bill and she brought me back $10.00. I guess she needed my 23 cents more than I did. Very poor service & a bad experience. I will never go there again. I'm telling all of my friends, and they will also never go there again.

Dude. It's gonna be a 10/10. This is delicious, the place is always busy, but there's a waitlist to join and they get you seated in a timely manner.

We came here with a party of 13 on a weekend morning. They said it would be a 15 minute wait online but it was actually a 45 minute wait for our parties. Going back, I would probably split up big groups since it was so much extra time. The food itself was pretty great. They feature biscuits in many of their meals and I'm glad to say they live up to their name. We ordered a plate that had everything from biscuits to pancakes to meat to hash browns. It was delicious but probably 3 meals for 2 people. It is the go-to plate for my brother and his partner. Other delicious plates include the biscuits with strawberries and cream. And also the cinnamon roll biscuit, which was really rich and sweet but really good. Great food! However, some logistics can be worked on here.

It's always a good time when we go to the Big Biscuit! The service is always great no matter how busy they are, their wait staff is always friendly, talkative, and right there when you need them. I try something different every time we go in and I've never been disappointed. It's our go to spot most weekends.

I don't necessarily think of this restaurant whenever I think of somewhere to eat at breakfast, but it was surprisingly good! I will definitely be back

Great food, always busy. They do their best to get people in and out. It's a great "after church" destination.

In my opinion, $22 for an Easter brunch buffet should mean hot food that won't run out. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Our party of 10 arrived at 11:00am and all of the food in the buffet was cold. Even when they'd bring more of a certain item to replace on the buffet line, it wasn't warm. The only item that was hot was the prime rib at the carving station. Being pregnant, I felt extremely uncomfortable eating cold buffet food due to the increased risk of food poisoning, so I wasn't able to enjoy much beyond the room temperature biscuits and the last scrapings of the white gravy along with some green beans that were warmish. Defintely not worth the $22 a person. They also ran out of carrot cake on Easter of all holidays, which was a disappointment. We probably won't be back for a buffet at Sandy's, which is a shame because our family has eaten their Mother's Day buffet several times and it had been fine (not stellar, but fine). Also, just a personal opinion, but the constant use of bad AI pictures on their Facebook is so cringey. The Boomers might like it, but the younger crowd sees this sort of stuff and thinks "yikes." We'd rather see real pictures of your real food, not a cartoon depiction.

Friendly and welcoming - - nice to experience on a brisk, autumn Saturday. HOWEVER!! Be forewarned.... COME HUNGRY!!! The portions are very generous! And really, REALLY good! Our meals required TWO servers! My friend ordered the fried chicken dinner. It was BEAUTIFUL! GOLDEN brown. Her sides were broccoli and Mac and cheese. As a big fan of chicken livers (if you know, you know). At first I was a little concerned they were over cooked. But nope! They were JUST RIGHT Goldilocks! I had mashed potatoes with white gravy - - OUTSTANDING. Green beans with smoked ham. Nicely prepared. It's JUST LIKE grandma used to make. We shall return again soon. Oh - - the prices? Incredible. $13.99 for my dinner which I EASILY brought home 2/3 to 3/4 of the livers. My companions fried chicken $14.49 plus she was able to choose which pieces she preferred!

The fries were NOT what I was thinking, but they were unique and delicious, crispy with soft inside. I was skeptical about the wrap being served hot, but it definitely worked and was also good. Several large screen TVs make this place perfect for watching "the Big Game". Ok, about the food. My favorite is the Philly flatbread; slightly chewy bread, cream cheese sauce base, and topped with generous amount of roast beef, peppers and onions. (Like a Philly Cheesesteak but laid out on delicious fresh flatbread). Now the onion rings; large onion slices covered in an almost tempura like batter and fried until golden brown...batter flakes off when you bite in on the ring and you will find yourself chasing those tasty batter flakes, so delicious! Give this place a try. It's a bit out of the way for some (Grain Valley, MO) but worth the drive, easy to locate and plenty of parking near. In the KC metro area this place is worth the drive.
