If they had a negative one, Star, I would definitely do it. I have to put one star to leave a review. And it is probably not just this restaurant. I'm sure that all Perkins are basically the same. I ate breakfast with my wife and family two weeks ago. I got the cheapest thing on the seniors menu. It was a very small half of an English muffin with an egg on it and I think a piece of meat. I'm not sure they called it a" egg Benedict" it was accompanied by a tiny little serving bowl of cut fruit, probably eight or nine little pieces. It came out on a turkey platter. It looked like a fly on the hubcap of a 59 Cadillac. I know items are going up groceries are going up. Gas is going up, but I don't mind paying a little bit more for some good food. It was not good and that one little egg and tiny bowl of fruit cost 11 dollars plus I will never go to a Perkins again read more

Ok so I ordered the triple egg dare ya and I'm gonna post some pictures with this review. So everything was great except for the hashbrowns. Now if they were undercooked or overcooked then oh well not a big deal. But when they give you a quarter of the serving and then tell you that's what it comes with, well you better change the menu pictures then because I would not have ordered it had I known. We went here for New Year's Day because it was the only thing open. Maybe it was our mistake for getting prime rib at a place that doesn't specialize in steaks but man it was so bad. I asked for medium rare and it came out almost fully cooked. Then when they took it back and brought out the replacement which looked better but it was completely cold. I had to send it back again and I hate doing that because I don't want the servers to spit in my food. The third time I just took it because we realized it was the best it was going to get. We ended up taking it home and cutting it up in pieces as dog training treats for our dog. The only reason I didn't give it a one star is because they gave us free pie and the pie was actually pretty delicious. I'll never go back to this restaurant again for actual food. This was one of the worst breakfast meals I have had. Asked for a bacon and cheddar omelette well done meaning NO runny egg. Not only was it wet the bacon fat was unreal. Not sure why a cook would ever turn a plate out with chunks of white fat. Serving sizes were a joke too which was okay because it would have been thrown in the trash. Coffee was bitter. My husband has a steel stomach and he is feeling unwell as I type this with his breakfast. $35 for breakfast that was unappealing. Open late and healthy! Mom had chicken breast and veggies from the 55+ senior menu. I had a salad and pancake. Although the pancakes aren't as good as ihop they left me satisfied. SO MANY SPECIALS! Senior specials, buy 3 get 3 on bakery items, after 9 PM half price apps pie slices, and Monday's free pie with entree. I haven't had their pie but I bet you it's a treat. I got the tremendous 12 sub potato pancakes (I love their potato pancakes) plus ordered two additional pancakes. I was craving pancakes so I came to Perkins I almost forgot how much I love the pancakes here... plus the strongest coffee I have had since I have made my own. Not its former self ! Bought the Heath pie which were used to buy all the time then they quit selling it. Let me tell you it is nothing like its former self. About half the size and about half the thickness and it doesn't taste anything like Heath. They used to have Heath pieces in it and on it and no longer does it have that. This was the most insufferable dining experience I have ever had. The waitress took our order and then disappeared for 40 minutes without even returning to fill our empty glasses. When I finally got up to search the restaurant for her, not only could I not find her, I couldn't find any member of the staff at all. I actually had to WALK INTO THE KITCHEN to find someone who was collecting a paycheck from Perkins. When I asked what had happened to our waitress and why we hadn't yet been served our orders, I found out that our orders had been lost and they didn't even know they had customers sitting at our table. The best/worst part was how they didn't even seem to care. Blank stares and mumbled sentence fragments were all they had to offer in the way of an apology. If you ever want to know what it is like to be abandoned by your server and systematically starved via negligence while waiting for a dinner order which will never arrive, by all means stop in at your local Perkins. This may explain why this restaurant chain seems geared toward senior citizens: only withered old souls weary of life and without any hope in their hearts would sit crumpled in the Perkins dining room while waiting for their egg white omelet and holding the grim reaper's bony hand. I have given Perkins one star because a negative 14 star rating was not an option. read more

OK so I see some one star reviews here. Let me say that I have been to this restaurant several times later at night, after work, closer to closing. I have tried several of their meals and have been highly satisfied--be it the roast beef, chicken and pasta, or roast turkey dinner, the food is hot and fresh. The waitress Amy was helpful and courteous. Most of the time the waitress will take time to chat and see how you are doing--the cook also will ask how the food is. We eat breakfast here every time we come to town... but, while the food is pretty good most of the time, there are times when it just plain sux. But, like today when the food order was wrong for both of us, they took it back and remade all of it. One uncomplicated omelet was fine, but I ordered my omelet with Ham, Cheddar, Swiss, and chopped tomatoes and it was pretty pathetic. A very small portion of each item was put in an omelet that should have been bursting at the seams with cheese, meat and tomatoes. The potatoes were great and the French toast was a bit above average (could have been cooked a little more). To their credit the manager didn't charge us for anything. We will be back, but one last thing I have to say, the coffee while strong (which I like very much) is bitter and that just means some cheap beans... change your coffee, buy a better brand! read more

We went to Perkins on June 5 around 9pm. Very few customers. We were seated right away, and a woman came by to take our order. 30 min. later, she hadn't returned. I finally asked someone where our food was. He told me the order had never been turned in. We left immediately. We will NOT be returning. There were only 2 people working besides the cook, but so few customers. No apology that I recall. Even when I wrote on their FB page, no one ever apologized. My family and I have always had a pleasant experience at this Perkins over the past 10 years that we have lived in Lee's Summit and been patrons numerous times. With that said, we have always gone when we have had a coupon and know that the coupon discount is added to our bill when we walk over to the cashier counter to pay on your way out. I have had a birthday coupon to be used at this specific Perkins for over a week now that I had been looking forward to use as this coupon would give me a free breakfast meal for the amount of $7.99. So, I went today, showed my waitress my coupon, happily ate my meal and walked over to the cashier counter with my online coupon up on the phone with all intent of paying for the tax and tip. Waiting a few minutes for someone to help me, I forgot about it during that time and was disappointed after signing my name having added on tip and pressing submit for my credit card payment. I quickly showed the cashier lady my coupon and asked if there was a way to return the amount of the meal itself. She said "No, we cannot give back cash." I, in return, not wanting cash, asked for her to return it to my credit card. She said that that was not possible as it had already been processed and to just come back and use the coupon another time. Seeing that she was the manager, I knew that there wasn't anyone else with whom I could speak and stood there for a moment visibly distraught as I did not have any initial intent of going there today to spend but maybe $4 at most. With that being said, I still don't understand why this lady could not credit back the amount of the meal or the entire amount that was charged and restart the transaction? Extremely disappointed and frustrated that what was supposed to be a special birthday treat to entice me to want to come back to their business again left me feeling being taken advantage of and not wanting to return all because of a simple mistake that could be easily rectified. read more
