Is eaten here before and was generally happy. In fact, gave it 4 stars. It had been awhile, so decided to return during restaurant week. Needless to say, it was not good. Service - so this was the first point of failure. Our waitress was attentive, but very loud. Additionally,she kept saying "perfect" to every response we had. Even the negative ones. I can't blame her, but some coaching is needed. Too many of our interactions were of the "hit and run" variety. She's programmed for certain questions and follow up, but doesn't really process the responses. Continuing on with the service, there were two of us, both ordering from the restaurant week menu. Well, one entree comes, not the app, nor the 2nd entree. This was delivered by what I assume was a manager (how he was dressed). No questioning about why he'd deliver one entree to a table with 2 people, so I had to ask about the rest and he was walking away. Again, a "hit and run" interaction. We did eventually get the app and other entree. Food - so we got the salmon dip app, two of the meatloaf burgers and the beignets dessert. The salmon dip was ok. Not especially flavorful, but not terrible. The pita with it was not good. It was overcooked as greasy tasting so it distracted from the dip. The burgers were mixed. I liked mine. It was flavorful, and juicy. My partner did not like hers. I chalk this up to personal preference, so would give this 4 stars on its own. The beignets. Wow, these were, in a word, awful. First, they were not as described as there was supposed to be some sort of fruit dip with it and it was missing. What we got was greasy blobs of cooked dough. These heavy, flavorless things were nothing like actual beignets. They were drizzled with this cheap chocolate syrup and this white, maybe vanilla stuff. This was a miss all around by this location. Hopefully a one off, but they've been around long enough that these issues should happen. read more

I have been to Red Door multiple times and honestly it's always been an average time. Everything I have tried has been good but not really great. I most recently went on a weekend and it wasn't packed for once which was good. My mom got the steak salad which I tried and that was yummy. I tried the Baja tuna tostadas which had a decent flavor but they were so coated in overly salty sauce or seasoning that I couldn't really enjoy them. There was so much going on I feel like it was to distract you from the $16 that the dish was definitely not worth. Our waitress was very nice and all the other times I have been there they have been nice and helpful as well. The ambiance is good and there is lots of seating so you don't feel cramped up against other people which is good because the restaurant can get very busy on the weekends. read more

This has become one of my go-to restaurants. The food, cocktails and service are consistently good. The weekday specials like $5 burger Monday, half price happy hour Tuesday or half price bottles of wine Sunday give me a reason to stop in many days of the week. The chimichurri salmon salad is my fave. But today I tried the fish tacos and they were so yummy. It might be my new fave. They have gf and pescatarian options. Today I tried a dirty martini cocktail. It was kinda sweet. They make sweeter cocktails the best. The dirty martini was meh. The ambiance is casual but energetic. Friendly service from rey, sierra or Sunni is an added bonus. Ben the manager is also delightful. If you go for brunch try the beignets- so delish. Extremely disappointed. Went in almost every seat was open around 1115-am before lunch rush. We have a child that does not watch tv. Asked to sit in seat that would allow us to continue staying screen free. Was told we could sit upstairs in front of the tv or downstairs in a booth with a round seat also facing tv. Excellent burgers. Food came out right away. I had the three cheeses burger and it was cooked to order. Tasted very good and was served with tasty fries. The ambiance was very nice. We went to red door tonight to take my mom to a nice dinner. Well, the appetizers were really good and started off strong. The main course of prime rib was super dried out and the dessert moose was gritty and not good unfortunately. But what really made me write this was how terrible the service was. I'm hoping it's just a one off but tonight felt like a waste of money with the bad service that we received. It's always disheartening having to ask to get the table cleared especially when it's full of dishes that are empty, drinks never coming, and food being brought out at different times. We've had other good experiences at different red door locations but this one definitely missed the mark for service and food quality. read more

I anticipated Red Door to give me ... "zing". We did set up a reservation. There was a small wait regardless. Unfortunately their "waiting area" is so small. We ended up waiting at the entryway, until a party was called so we could stand and wait indoors. The Espresso Martini was good, nothing special. We shared the Killer Calamari paired with their Korean dipping sauce, went well together. Hubs had the KC Strip & fries. Medium rare - he loved it. I had the Cajun pasta. Unfortunately there was something missing from the pasta. There was no hint of spice, or anything that would tell me it's " Cajun" flavored. Almost bland but did taste like they tried. We had a lovely meal here on a weeknight, a few weeks back. My husband and I have just moved to the area, and we were looking for low key barbecue that also offered other options. We split an appetizer and entree. Our waitress was kind, and accommodating. My favorite thing is when a restaurant plates the meal on separate plates for me, and this establishment does it! I will literally be back for that alone, 1/2 a pound of wings = 5 wings is kind of lame, especially when two people are sharing. Cop me the extra wing yall! The steak was perfect, and the fries were crisp. I ordered a side of Brussels sprouts and they were also very tasty. I've always gone to the Leawood location but had met up a friend in LS for dinner on Thursday evening. Luckily for us that was fried chicken night! I had never tried it before but omg! So good! It was so much food I took some home but delicious nonetheless. We did have a reservation and they were super busy when we got there, but we got a comfortable booth when it was our time. The place is decorated for Christmas which was a pleasant surprise. The staff was okay, friendly but obviously busy and refills were a little delayed. The main issue I have with this Monday special is when you order fries on the side it is a very small portion of fries. This place was great! It was our first time here or at any Red Door. We got seated quickly on a busy Saturday night. The hostesses were friendly and kind. We were seated in Dominick's section. He was very attentive and efficient. We both had the whiskey prime rib. I had mine cooked medium and hers was medium rare. Both were perfect. We liked this better than Texas Roadhouse. The food was better and it was more quiet in Red Door. The ambiance was nice with the Christmas decorations. Our entrees came out before our salads. We noted that to the guy who brought the entrees, who happened to be the manager and he gave us a credit for the salads without us asking. Very classy. We'll return more in the future for sure. I went back to the same location as before to give it a try with gift card in hand. I had made an online reservation in case it was busy with the holidays. We were greeted at the door, seated immediately, and our server actually was the one walking us to our table. Eli provided great customer service and compassion the whole time we were there. He was very attentive. The meal was great. Much better service than before. I'm not sure what all changed but it seemed like a completely different restaurant. A little disappointed with this Red Door location as it didn't match the standards of the other locations I've gone to so I wanted to share my experience here. Decided to stop by on Father's Day for a nice dinner- I did set a reservation for 6:30 but honestly it wasn't busy so a reservation wasn't necessarily needed. Our waitress got our drink order entered promptly and I went with the classic Moscow Mule and opted for the fried calamari as an appetizer. The moscow mules were fine, they didn't have straws in the cups and I had asked for straws but it took about 10 minutes to actually receive them.. no biggie, things happen. Our appetizer finally arrives and I already had a couple of issues :/ The plates that were handed to us for the appetizer were just completely dirty and had a strange liquid of some sort dripping off of them (it was a down brown/grey color). I asked if our waitress could just take them away as we weren't planning on using them anyway. The calamari itself had a strange taste, you could definitely tell they were frozen before and I definitely don't have a problem with frozen food, I just think they weren't cooked well enough for my liking. I would suggest ordering something else as an appetizer. 20 minutes run by and our waitress is nowhere in sight and our food order hasn't been taken yet. I definitely understand things can get busy but we had probably been sitting for a good 30-40 minutes and had only seen our waitress twice. (When she took our drink order and gave us straws). Waitress finally comes back and admits that she forgot to take our food order, no biggie- things happen, people forget. Our food arrives and the food runner delivering our food dropped a piece of chicken on the floor and now we have to wait on another to be made. And one of the plates delivered to us was completely different from what we had asked for. The specific corner of the restaurant we were sitting at had multiple spiders hanging off the ceilings. We spent almost 2 hours here and probably saw our waitress a total of 4 times, she never checked in on us and it was almost as we had been forgotten about the time we were there. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt but there were just a lot of technical issues that happened/occurred. I would suggest skipping out on this location and going to a different one. read more

We frequent this location a lot. If you scroll through my reviews, you'll see that I had a not so nice experience at the Brookside location. This one however, has never let us down. We make reservations because they are busy. I am also at the point in my life where I'm not waiting a long time for food. Reservations is definitely where it's at. We love their wings (we almost order wings everywhere.). They share just the right amount of char on them. Hubs likes their Old Fashioneds. Ther Calamari is so good! I was skeptical at first because it's big thick chunck but it's delicious. Even tye 13 year old who is a super picky eater, always enjoys what he orders. The waitstaff at this location is always so nice and helpful. Even when it's super busy, we still get treated like the place is empty. There's not lag jn service. If something is behind, they let us know promptly. This location is one of our go to placed especially when we're undecided about where to go. We know we won't leave disappointed. read more

I was passing through and found Red Door Woodfired Grill on Yelp. The service was outstanding. Everyone was very friendly. It was clear that most people there were locals and regulars. It was Monday, so they had a burger special...I went with a steak. It was very good. The bartender kept my lemonade full. I can see why people come back multiple times a week. read more

came here on Friday night for my birthday this was the third time in a row we've came for my birthday always have loved it , this year wasn't good at all in fact if they have the same server i'll never come back to this location! we ordered the special the prime rib and shared it and the brussels sprouts tasted funny my husband actually had thought the tasted like salmon , i told the waitress she just look at us and said nothing so i just brushed it off an then i ordered a margarita and it very small so asked if i could get a bigger one she brings over a skinny taller glass and I took it and I poured it into the same class that she brought me the first time and it fit exactly in the small glass she brought me originally and the tall skinny glass wasn't even full , i said i sure hope try don't charge me more for this she said she wasn't sure and that's what the bar gave her , she didn't act like she gave a crap about anything that was going on with any thing & didn't even ask if we wanted something different for our side and we waited like 30 min just to even order , i had to get up and ask someone if we could order . i am very disappointed! and my husband left her $20 and she didn't even deserve that ! read more

This is a restaurant that offers great food, but cannot expect to have great service during their Burger Monday deal. Our group came in today (5/12) during dinner at 5:30 and we ordered. 10-15 minutes later we got our food as everyone just ordered a burger since it was $6 burgers. Everyone but my wife got their food. Another five minutes and still no burger, we flagged down our waitress and she went to go check and brought back out a burger a few minutes later but it was not the burger she ordered. Waitress took the burger back and brought out a different one a bit later, still not what she ordered. She had ordered a well-done burger with no onions (or cheese but the burger for the deal doesn't come with cheese). Waitress brings a third burger which looks correct but my wife takes a bite and it's medium-rare instead of well-done. My wife cannot physically eat it but by that point she didn't want to cause a scene so she ate it. She got halfway through her burger before getting up and going to the bathroom to throw up, to which afterwards our group just paid and quickly left. As soon as we got home she ran to the bathroom to throw up more. My food was fine, burger was what I ordered. Only complaint is that it was an extra $2 for a spattering of fries. I counted a total of 12 fries. Which, I mean, is a bit upsetting to pay extra for only a few fries As stated at the beginning, this restaurant has great food. This one not great experience will just offset us from coming back for a while. read more

3.5 I love the atmosphere with all of the booths. It's great for Lee's Summit, but we are pretty lacking in good restaurants. My favorite thing here by far is the tomato soup! It's one of the best I've had and comes with a grilled cheese fritter on top. I haven't found any other favorites here after several attempts. read more

This was our second time dining at Red Door and both times were great. The first visit, my husband and I attended with friends. We both had the chicken tacos and those were great. Our second visit, we went to on a whim. The wait for inside was 40 minutes but we could dine outside immediately (mind you, it was 92 at 6:30). We went ahead a chose outside and it really wasn't the bad. The patio was large with a great view and the fans kept a great breeze going. I had a mango mojito and husband enjoyed an Old Fashioned. Both drinks were great and they didn't skimp on anything. We chose to split prime rib egg rolls for an appetizer. My daughter, who doesn't like steak (I know...I can't believe it, either), loved these rolls! They were presented nice and the sauce was tasty. I chose the honey chicken sandwich and parmesan fries. Unfortunately, I had a size salad (with was good), but it filled me up so I took my entree home. Happy to report it was fabulous the next day, too! My husband got the prime rib sandwich and LOVED it. He said it was one of the best in town. Next time, we will go on prime rib night (they were sold out by the time we ordered). My daughter, who is quite picky, stepped outside of her zone and ordered the chorizo mac and chicken. She actually really loved the fish. I did try the chicken and it is legit. For next time, we will probably try to go on a jalapeño fried chicken night (Thursday) as I've heard it's wonderful. They serve a whiskey prime rib after 3pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday so we will be back for that, too. Desserts looked great but we were too stuffed. Service was great. read more
