Fantastic service, Fantastic food, and Fantastic pie. Will be going to breakfast again

I had been exhausted all day, but... By the time we came here for a cheap diner meal, I was Perkins right up. When traveling across the USA sometimes you get desperate. Sometimes you have to eat whatever the hell you find. That was the case with Perkins. I usually never eat at Perkins as I think it's just as bad as Denny's. Well maybe not that bad. And possibly better than IHOP. But still really bad. However this particular Perkins I did eat because I was in Menomonee and it's really the only thing here that isn't fast food. Plus she was complaining about being hungry, and she's extremely prissy and demanding and always has to get what she wants. So I got some nice dining food with my traveling companion who actually likes Perkins in general. I think we were the only people in the restaurant that weren't old. Or at least over 57. Not that that's old. Service was nice and I liked the thick Wisconsin and Minnesota accents more than anything. read more

We stopped over for a dinner with our kiddos on a road trip and the food was good but our service with Tia was awesome!

It's Perkins. Fifty years ago the concept was new, the breakfasts were a welcome treat & the waitresses all seemed to emote that grandmotherly charm that said 'it's ok kids. After breakfast we'll make pie for dessert tonight'! Now? It's still Perkins but they've lost the charm. Food is predictable. Scrambled eggs a tad overcooked, hash browns crispy & pancakes not quite as light & fluffy as I remember. Service was fast & friendly. Would I rush in regularly? Doubtful. But it's a predictable respite on a road trip. read more

Stopped on our way through town for a funeral, very clean place! We were greeted right away and seated right away in a nice quiet booth. Drink order was taken immediately, server Bailey was great and attentive! Food was fresh and delicious and came out quickly! Will certainly be back to try again! read more

The waitress my friends and I had was super nice, that was not the issue. The food was terrible, it made everyone's stomach turn. The French toast was still bread on the inside none of the sauce seeped in before frying, the country fried "steak" was gray and smelled, and somehow they made eggs taste bad. So we ordered breakfast food. The waitress never asked us how we wanted our eggs, only one of us ever got asked how we wanted them later and she gave us both eggs over easy but they were super undercooked and runny. The chicken in the biscuits and gravy was also very undercooked so they offered to remake the whole meal,but when they brought the food back the new eggs were still undercooked and runny along with the bacon. Perkins is a popular chain concentrated in Minnesota and Wisconsin, but foreign to a Chicago native like me! They have a large breakfast menu and basic soup, salads and sandwiches. The concept - pricing and atmosphere is similar to most fast casual restaurants. Service was speedy and friendly on a weekday lunch hour. I started with a cup of Chicken Noodle Soup and went with the Honey Mustard Chicken Salad upon recommendation from the waitress (substituting the crispy chicken with grilled chicken). Quality of the meat was good, but the soup was starchy. The salad was hearty with marinated strips of chicken with green peppers, tomatoes, onions, bacon, cheese and lettuce. Overall, ingredients were fresh and restaurant was relaxing grounds for a laid-back lunch. read more

We stopped for breakfast and when we first walked in I noticed the musty smell of the carpet. I realize it had been raining but I wish all restaurant would have flooring other than carpet as it tends to hold so many germs. I ordered some crepe wraps that seemed old and dry so I sent them back. But the eggs and bacon were good and the cranberry muffin was delicious. So this is a mixed review. I felt like I was overpriced on my breakfast because it wasn't a "menu description" so they charged like extras. Service was a little slow at first but got better. read more

I and my husband and grown son are fans of this Perkins and eat here whenever we are in Menomonie. We have tried most of the appetizers and liked all that we have eaten, the salads are very fresh and have a good blend of flavors, and the sandwiches and burgers are all good too. The only drawback to this Perkins is the wait staff--it's pretty hit and miss: some of them are very enthusiastic and do a good job, others are either not well-trained or just don't have very good wait-skills. But in general, this is a very good place for a casual meal with friends or family. read more

Bull shit had to serve myself with a menu....no one in site ten min..had to walk into kitchen to get attention..humm?mm........so why? ...i walked in 9 degree weather to get some eggs n hash browns still tbd.... They French toast taste like dirt and water, and im pretty I caught aids sitting in their booth.

This is probably the worst dining experience I have ever had. Waiter took forever to bring back drinks and take our order. Once our order was put in our food took over an hour to reach our table. As soon our food arrived so did the bill, as if they were trying to make us leave sooner (the restaurant was no where near busy.) As our less than pleasurable experience went on the manager actively ignored our table, when I asked her if the pies in the case were the only ones available she responded "I have no idea, that's something you'll have to ask your waiter." (Our waiter never returned to our table the entire experience until we flagged him down.) We paid and left after having dined on mediocre food and experienced awful customer service. Disappointing. For starters i have to say this is some of the worst breakfast food i have ever had. You get an order of 3 eggs and it looks more 3 baby/child sized eggs and the pancakes are about 7 inch across so eating 3 of them so a really easy feet. And they come on huge plates so they look even smaller. The sausage was just a cheap kielbasa that taste just like you would expect. The Hash browns i had were quite delicious and the tap water was nice and cold. The service was very friendly but extremely slow. I got my food the same time another table got theirs that came in 20 minutes after i did and there was only 6 other couples in the restaurant. I have had bad experience before with burgers and chicken sandwiches but i figured they couldn't possible mess up breakfast. This will be the last time i attend any Perkins but on the upside they did a few new upgrades to the decor. 2/5 Cause my other half liked the omelet. read more

The service was bad, they practically ignored us. The chicken in the chicken biscuit was terrible, McDonalds serves better chicken. They were out of every bakery goods we asked for? I won't be coming back. read more

What can be said? It's a Perkins and Perkins restaurants are great! My favorite thing about them is you get so much food that you can't possibly eat it all. And, of course, the prices are very reasonable. read more

Our service was good but my husband's food was really dry. I tried a salad that was okay if plain iceberg lettuce is appealing to you - it did have a great variety of toppings. It's a safe bet since a Perkins is a Perkins. read more

Never thought I'd say this, but the Denny's in town is better. The food is the same as it would be at any Perkins anywhere, so commenting on the food is mostly pointless. I'll say that I do enjoy the majority of the menu, so that's not the issue. I've walked out the last two times I've visited. Both times I've stood at the front counter for over five minutes just waiting for someone to show up to point out what seat they want me in. Both times the place was completely void of staff. Not a single server to be found. Mind you, one of these instances was at 3 a.m. when they usually only have one server and one cook, but the most recent was at 2 p.m. and there were other customers there. I've given up on Perkins and just started going to Denny's when I crave breakfast food. With that said, the Denny's in Menomonie is awesome. read more

I never had the chance to eat here...I stopped dead in my tracks in the entry...filthy...filthy...filthy....cigarette butts on the floor dirt...napkins...if the entry was that bad....no telling how dirty the kitchen was...normally Perkins are great...this one...it was obvious that the management and staff have little or no pride in their restaurant. No one should be greeted by a dump as they walk in to have the expectation of a good meal...I hope Perkins corporate offices makes this location come up to proper cleanliness standards....I won't be back. read more

Absolutely love Perkins! Have never had an issue with their food. I think they could give more fries with their sandwiches though. Customer service is always nice and friendly. I have been here at all hours and have never had a bad server. read more

Service isn't consistent but is still decent. The food is okay. It isn't terrible but it also isn't amazing. The good thing about this Perkins though is that it's definitely better than Denny's. read more
