Honestly wish I could give them a better review but they got 3 instead of 4 or 5 because of one major reason and a smaller reason. The major reason was just timing, we waited around 3 hours for two oil changes. They told me they could accommodate two oil changes and we arrived around lunch time to drop off the cars. We had two cars and the plan was to wait for 1 of them to be finished, drive that one home, and then we can pick up the other car whenever. They said it would take around 45 minutes to do one car, so we drove in, walked to grab lunch at the taco truck down the street, went on a walk, and came back to our cars not even taken into the back haha If they were super busy, we could have done another day or just did one car at a time but they said it was ok. When I asked for a status update, they kept telling me it would happen next or soon and like 2-3 hours later, we FINALLY got ONE car. We picked up the second car and they kindly stayed a little late for us to swoop the car. My bf and I work remotely and so we were stuck there, working from our phones, when we thought our hour long lunch break could have been good. We were flexible to other scheduling but was assured it would be fine and I guess a combo of mis-scheduling and maybe just short labor? just made us stuck there. We considered taking an Uber back but wasn't sure if that made sense if our car was supposedly coming out soon or be done next. The smaller reason for the lower review was I felt like the price was a little high. We paid around $75 each for the oil changes, so about $140-150 total. I had not gotten an oil change for a while, candidly I just got the car recently, so I was a little surprised the price was that but maybe I've been mislead by those cheap advertisements for $30 oil changes. I would prefer quality over pricing so it's ok as long as my car is good. I appreciated that I got updates they reported our oil changes to Carfax? My original review was for Bruce and Jacks. The people who bought them out took control of their Yelp page I see and I just got notification. I have not had enough experience with the new garage to give them more than 3 stars. My husband took his car in for 5 items. They fixed 3 and one item to be fixed they did it for free by zip tying it. If we wanted a zip tie we would have done it ourselves. They apologized for not getting to the other 2 issues and said to make an appointment to bring it back. Just meh. read more

Hard to find a good, trustworthy mechanic. Nice people here at Toole's. Unfortunately I won't be recommending them to anyone. Was charged a diagnostic fee to see where a coolant leak was coming from. They found it. Did the repair. Only to find a much more expensive leak. Not sure what the point of diagnostic is then? Payed 60 plus for diagnostic fee, 600 plus for the job. Then they found a larger leak that will cost me roughly 1500. $600 is no small amount, I could have added that to an "engine refresh". I'll stick with my mechanic and be patient next time he's out of the shop. read more

Do not go here, they charge $200 an hour and miss diagnosis your vehicle. I went in to have my serpentine belt replaced on my BMW X5. They lied and said both belts were broken when in fact, only the serpentine belt was broken. Quoted me $520 to do the belts when it should be a one hour job Also stating that my AC compressor was seized, which in fact it was not, the belt involved with it was still fully intact. The belt needed to be replaced and the tensioner pulley's which is an average job for the vehicle and could've been done within an hours time. I feel they were trying to take advantage of me because I am a female and drive a BMW I highly do not recommend the shop for anyone. read more

If you're reading the reviews here, pay attention to the bad ones, and note how the business minimizes complaints rather than takes responsibility. My girlfriend brought a BMW here for a pre-purchase inspection, as there wasn't many options in the area. Toole's gave her a report showing no issues and no reason to not purchase the vehicle. After driving the vehicle home, she noticed some obvious issues, and brought the vehicle to a BMW specialist who immediately found all sorts of major issues (underpressure in the turbocharger, an extremely expensive repair, major oil leak, removed trunk opener control unit) that should have been obvious with even a cursory 15 minute inspection. Toole's offered to refund the cost of the inspection and at the suggestion that they should take any more responsibility than that, became immediately hostile and confrontational. The BBB and BAR have become involved. This dealership doesn't do good work, won't stand by its own conclusions, and will get aggressive if you stand up for yourself. Seriously, go elsewhere. Now just wait for the reply. They will minimize and mischaracterize. read more

This garage is 5 plus stars! They keep you informed you informed via calls/texts/emails - whatever your preference. They provide pictures and videos of what is going on with your car/repair. They explained everything in terms I could understand. My car (Volvo) was repaired in the time frame promised and it is running again!! All the guys at Toole's were very friendly, easy to talk to, helpful. I took my '02 Chevy Silverado in for an oil change. The cost was reasonable falling in the middle of other oil change businesses and the local Chevy dealer that I usually go to. The work was completed in a timely manner and professionally done. They did a free maintenance inspection and even took photos of some items I might do in the future. They have moved into the historic former Bruce and Jack's garage in the downtown area which I love! I recommend Toole's Garage they even work on vintage and classic cars too! read more

I had an awesome experience taking my car in for an oil change. I got a flier in the mail for a $60 full synthetic oil change. This is much better deal than anywhere else in town. I spoke with Frank and he was able to do it same day. It also included a full inspection and diagnostic. They tested my battery, inspected my tires and belts and fans all for $60 bucks!!! That's a steal when jiffy lube charges almost $100. In addition to that they took pictures of everything thing they inspected and uploaded it an a really cool dashboard that I could access. I am so impressed with this garage that I now found my new mechanic shop. Open, honest and transparent service. Can't say enough nice things about this shop. I would never recommend this place after what they did to my car. Totally irresponsible. My vehicle was finished the day of drop off and yet they held my vehicle overnight until the next day to contact me. Unacceptable and uncalled for when they wanted to claim they didn't break and jam my vehicle. Poor management, and poor customer service. When we brought it up to the manager he walked us around his shop bragging about the high-end cars, all these excuses, and to the unleveled concrete they have to work in. It was like blahhhhh blahhh blahhh. Then took us in circles to resolve any of the issues I had about why my vehicle was damaged. They had before pictures to show how I brought it in but had no after pictures to cover their business. More than likely they're guilty of what they did, but of course, why would they own up to their fault and mistakes? They ain't got the money to fix what they broke. Never would I recommend this place or take my vehicle in for any services. Beware everyone always check your vehicle, inside out. Take precautions, take videos, and pictures, and be sure to take any valuable le belongings. I just don't sit around to make bad reviews but no one wanted to own up to their mistakes. They even grind down the part they broke, I mean seriously!!!! How shady and shitty. You can't trust anyone. I hope they learn that this is people's valuables, not a toy. Everyone is exceptionally warm and friendly. However, we won't be returning. We left our car (for regular service) for almost two full days without any work being done. came here awhile ago , forgot to rate & i believe leave a review . anyways , the reason for the 4 stars is that my brakes that i got done from them are still in good condition & have not given my car any issues . the only other reason is because the owner took the time to explain everything to me . didn't treat me different or make me feel like i lacked knowledge because i was a woman . they replaced my brakes after another shop in town did them prior . but those brakes were cheap & dismantled before a year . moral of the story is ! if you're looking for a good brake job & have the extra money to spend , please do so . it's worth it in the end especially when it comes to getting your brakes replaced . read more

At first I was starting to trust this mechanic. I'm a loyal customer so if I have a good experience I'll come back. They are expensive but I thought it was worth it cuz they were good. But The main issue I had with my car was completely looked over when I paid for a diagnosis, which is 200 dollars. And what they were trying to have me get done to my car was way more expensive then what actually needed to be done. I ended up going to Familia on Hammer and he didn't even charge me for a diagnosis and got the problem fixed fast! The issue they were trying to say was up with my car wasn't even a big issue and they made it seem like I shouldn't be driving my car with that problem and I. Need to get it fixed asap. All together that would've been like almost 3 thousand dollars for what they diagnosed my car with. The problem was with my Axel. Every time I'd go over a bump it would make a concerning loud noise. I found this place by google but I know now that I've found my forever mechanic shop. I went in for a transmission problem I thought but after their diagnosis and all the pictures they sent me it was my clutch. I was told it was transmission by another automotive shop but thanks to Raphael and Jess I found out it wasn't. They took pictures of everything they did and sent them to me. They texted me with updates and cost. Everybody knows it's less for a clutch so I appreciate their honesty and not only that but they are very courteous and polite. The office is clean and neat and these guys were really friendly and easy to talk to. Made me understand everything thing and I'm a woman. Who says mechanics take advantage of us. Even paying for the service was pleasant and who wants to give up money. Honest, excellent service, great attitude, great prices. 10/10. My 2018 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid has had battery issues for a while with a near depleted battery. The people from Autozone picked out the wrong battery for me, didn't know how to even install a battery on a hybrid vehicle and another mechanic turned me away because he didn't want to do battery installations for customers who brought their own battery. Toyota dealership had a 2 week long line for appointments and I would've had to wait hours there for a walk-in. This place was the first place to take me in, competent and kind enough to take a look at my hybrid battery and the new one I bought before letting me know that it wouldn't fit. They then helped me search for a battery that fit, resourceful enough to call their battery salespeople and then Toyota themselves since it turned out to be manufacturer-exclusive. They picked up the battery from Toyota the SAME DAY and called me in. We got the battery replaced in 15 minutes and they charged me an EXCELLENT price. I took my 2006 Honda Civic in for a problem with my charging system. The mechanic found a bad regulator was the source of the problem and fixed it. This is the short version. I will add more info at this point. I was a shop teacher at a JC and quite familiar with good auto repair. Toole's shop, for one hires ASE-certified mechanics. This is a big thing and reflects a high level of commitment and expertise that the mechanic must acquire by working and studying. It takes years to obtain the status of master mechanic. Tools mechanic diagnosed the problem, and the car was back on the road. It's been several weeks since it was repaired and all is good. I had a great experience with Tools and highly recommend this shop to anyone in need of a worthy place to trust for the repair and maintenance of their auto. read more

YOU BE THE JUDGE. 2009 Chevy 3500. Checked in September 25th. Both oil cooler lines underneath were leaking so I wanted them replaced. The mechanic wrapped the transmission hose in a corkscrew which will starve my transmission from getting any oil, and he ran the aluminum portion of the lines in such a way that they were rubbing against each other, and the lines were not mounted correctly causing the line to pop out of its support bracket. If left this way, it would have destroyed my transmission. And, the parts at an auto store would have only cost me about $130 for each oil cooler line set. They charged me about triple that per oil cooler line set. I brought the vehicle back for them to correct the shady workmanship. They did. But I asked, " What did you torque the bolts at?" They couldn't answer that question, because they didn't torque them! Every bolt on a vehicle has a specific manufacturer torque rating. Proper torque is a must. So I made them put my truck back on the lift to have it correctly torqued. I didn't ask for a discount when they said, " How can we make it up to you?" You know how you could have made it up to me? Get the work done right the first time so I don't have to lose an extra day of work bringing my truck back. This was so disappointing and frustrating because I mostly do my own DIY work on everything I own for this very reason. I only see two scenarios: either the mechanic is totally incompetent and had no idea what he was doing, or he intentionally tried to sabotage my transmission so that it will fail and I would have to return for something else to be fixed at a later date. The staff at the front desk were extremely professional, but that's not why we go to get our vehicle fixed; We want the mechanic to be extremely professional... and do it right...The first time! I will never ever go back to this place again. I don't trust them. I feel so sorry for everybody that brings their vehicle in there knowing that the mechanic who worked on my truck, is working on somebody else's vehicle. The biggest favor they can do for me and all their customers, is get rid of that mechanic, or send him back to school. If I could add photos I would. read more
