We called Permaseal because we had a wall crack that was leaking water and wanted to get some quotes. The person who came out, Mike T. was professional and courteous at first and answered all our questions. However, when we told him that we were still in the stage of comparing quotes and would like to get back to him later, he started using some more aggressive sales tactics to get us to sign with them that day. It eventually worked and we signed with him thinking the work could be done that day, but they scheduled the repair for two weeks later. I didn't quite appreciate how he pressured us to sign with them on the spot, but I trusted the Permaseal name and because he told us that Permaseal uses epoxy filler for the wall cracks, while other companies use a Poly type filler. Two weeks later, Jesus came out and performed the repair. He was quick and was done in an hour. However, I noticed that he also used a yellow polyurethane foam filler for the wall crack. I asked him about it, but I didn't quite understand his response. At least the wall seems to be fixed though. Overall, I would have preferred it if the salesperson wasn't so aggressive and if he had told us the truth that they also use polyurethane filler for the cracks. There was really no reason to pressure us to sign with him that day because the repair would be on another day. We most likely would have still have gone with Permaseal if he had just given us some more time and told us the actual filler they use. But because of his actions, I can't help but feel we got ripped off $700 for a 4 feet wall crack, regardless if the job was done right. read more

Called the office and they said it would be an additional $1,100 to remove the buck frame. First, I want to apologize for the lengthy review, but I believe it's necessary to detail the extent of the fraud, lack of customer service, and empathy we experienced. My wife and I recently had a daughter, and as new parents, we want to ensure our home is safe for our growing family. We noticed a white powder coming from our basement floors and, concerned about potential mold, called to identify the source of the leak. Our neighbors recommended Permaseal. When we requested an inspection, Robert Barcewski came to our house. He inspected the area where I indicated the leak was coming from and told me there was a crack in the rear corner that needed sealing. He also said we needed six pillars because the house was sinking on that side. The total project was quoted at $21,000, which shocked us since we had just purchased the house a year ago. We decided to seek a second opinion and had another inspection by a structural engineer. Based on their report, we installed a retaining wall that same month. Despite this, we continued to experience water issues. The inspector recommended Permaseal again. Against my better judgment, I reached out to Robert, who did no water testing and recommended a drainage tile around the back of the house and a new sump pump, quoting $8,200. I hadn't mentioned the previous inspection or the retaining wall. Assuming good intentions, I agreed to the new quote. We received two new sump pumps, a drain tile, a new sump pump well, and a 10-foot trench. Three days later, we still had water in the same spot. The basement was now exposed due to the recent work, allowing us to see that the water wasn't coming from the areas addressed by Permaseal. I called them to report the ongoing issue, emphasizing that we were under warranty. Two weeks later, after four calls to Robert and Lisa in billing, Robert finally called back, citing an injury as the reason for his delay. Permaseal sent out another salesperson who performed water testing, revealing that the issue was an unsealed back door, a simple fix likely costing around $1,000. Instead of $8,200 for Permaseal and $2,000 to redo the basement with new flooring and drywall, we faced a fixable issue. I asked the new salesperson for Robert's boss to discuss how we could make this mistake right. I understand we can't cry over spilled milk, and again, I am assuming good intent. Here's where the dishonesty and fraud became evident. The salesperson wouldn't give me Robert's boss's name. I called Lisa in billing, who promised a call back from a higher-up. After a week and three voicemails, I received no response. My wife called, and Lisa told her that Robert didn't have a boss but promised a collective decision within four days. Despite asking for someone other than Robert to contact us, he left a voicemail saying he would get back to us with no solution. After another two days of no response from Robert or Lisa, I called the 1-800 number and discovered Robert does have a boss, who was out for two days. Forty days from the start of the project, I still haven't heard back. Permaseal lacks ethics, starting from the top. An organization built on trust and honesty would never pass off significant customer service issues among multiple people. Admitting there was nothing they could do would have been more respectful than the series of lies we encountered. My wife and I will file a lawsuit and then pass it to the attorney general for fraud. Perma Seal came out to do a basement waterproofing. A few days later, afte the concrete dried I went to start cleanng up after the dust mess they made. Found out my dryer, over and stovetop are not working now. When I called they said I have to wait four days for someone to come out. They asked me what I unplugged. I had to explain to them that I did not unply anything, and that they unplugged things. so now I can't cook anything - stovetop or oven and I can't do any laundry. They were quick enough to cash my check, however. On top of that they wanted to park their very heavy trucks on my driveway. I already had a former workers park their trucks on my driveway. They caused a crack in the cement and left oil spots all over. Victor argued with me for over an hour, even though I previously told their office no trucks on my driveay. The lady I talked to said she would note the account. aEither she lied or didn't note the account. They tried to tell me their fully loaded truck with cement in it was only 2,000 pounds. Right, Permaseal. Victor wouldn't stop arguing with me about it until I told him, fine, you sign a contract saying if you crack my sidewalk then you pay for it. That'$16,000 for one day's work and they can't even get it right. Avoid them. Try a different company. read more

They did not do just the part that raised they did the whole walk way. I thought price was reasonable. Joaquin and Angle interduce them self's , which was nice. I noticed some deterioration in the wall in my basement where the main sewer pipe exits through the basement wall. I called three companies to get quotes all of which had life time warranties, had been in business over 30 years and had mainly good reviews online. Perma-seal gave me the best price, that is the only reason I went with them. The other two were almost identical, but several hundred dollars higher. The guys who fixed the wall did a great job. They were on time, courteous, did the work fairly quickly and so far it seems to be just fine. The sales person I worked with was another story. He seemed to actually get a little upset with me when I told him I was getting other quotes beyond him. And to get the contract completed and the work scheduled took weeks and weeks. We had a partial drain tile system (Perma Seal) in our basement from 2005, but after a very heavy downpour in July, we had quite a bit of water come up. We had to tear out a finished basement for them to install more drainage tiles along the perimeter. Now after another heavy downpour on August 15, we had water intrusion again. However, they are unable to determine where the intrusion is coming from until we can get the water to come back up again. Looks like we may have to tear out the finished basement for the second time. Frustrating, expensive and no answers yet. Everyone we have dealt with has been very professional and kind. I want to really shout out the team that did this work. Especially Jose, Eli, and Victor! They some of the most professional individuals we have worked with concerning any contractor work. The work was done efficiently and with a high regard to workmanship. I'd give them 6 stars if I could! So why not 5 stars? We faced many conflicts in regards to scheduling. We told Perma Seal we would be out of the country the month of June and received a call in the middle of June confirming the start date of our project at the end of June. Additionally, they were unable to do the project during the original month we discussed. On top of that, a week before the start of our project, the start date was adjusted again. At the completion of the project, the person they sent out to move our sink was unable to due so because the floor was not dry and the sink was too heavy for him to lift on his own. In the middle of this process I had requested a manager call back and never received one. When I brought up these concerns to a representative at the end of our experience, they were incredibly receptive and kind. All businesses face challenges, but there is a lot to be said about how they are addressed. I truly believe we had an outlier experience. I was wrong. the initial appointment was set for the morning as I had to go to work later in the day and made that clear. they didn't show up until after 2pm so my retired Father in Law had to come and sit here while they worked. I even called to reschedule based on their tardiness in which they responded with,"you'll have to pay a fee". after being on hold for too long I was told I'd be contacted by a manger who was seemingly understanding and told me a crew would be their earlier than originally anticipated and I wouldn't have to cancel or reschedule - that ended up being a lie and they were later then I was told. none of that would even matter if they just did what they said they were going to do and seal my crawl space. instead, they placed their silver liner on all walls leaving clear gaps where daylight shines through and their is clear air flow. they used foam in the corners but there are clearly areas that have gaps and I don't understand why. when they were finished I got a call asking for money and none of this was explained but they told me I should replace my door as well. I paid $1300 for them to seal a room that still feels like you're outside. HORRIBLE BUSINESS, I should have done it myself. read more

Let me begin by saying that I do not normally write reviews, but I am urging you not to let this company on your property. On November 1st lead consultant Jim came out to give me an estimate on insulating my attic. Inspected the attic and gave me an estimate. We called them back an hour later to accept the estimate. Was told about 30 days for appointment. Appointment confirmed for December 4th for insulation installation. Crew showed up and inspected the attic area. Came back down and informed me we needed larger sofit openings and that ceiling insulation on the roof needed to be removed. As a result, we were required to sign a waiver that the company would not be responsible for mold growth due to these issues. Had the original consultant told us this, we could have taken care of this in the 30 days prior to the installation appointment. Instead, we had to pay more to have it done after the fact due to change in weather conditions being later in winter now. The crew who did the job had a dumpster dropped on our driveway to dump the old insulation. I noticed after they left there were spot all over the driveway where something from the truck was leaking fluid. This was all over the driveway and on the street in front of the house. We had just had the driveway redone and resealed, so I was very upset to see this. I called them and they asked me to send them pictures which I did. They sent someone but they couldn't do anything due to subzero temps. Second time they sent someone to try and clean it, it did not work. We spoke to them again and I explained that it cost me $500 to have the driveway done and suggested they just pay me the $500 to have it redone but they said they could only offer me $100. Sent someone out a 3rd time and not only did it not work, but now the driveway looks worse. After they left, he said they would call me, but no one ever called again and that was 4 weeks ago. read more
