Dinner had a relaxed yet upscale atmosphere, with a full bar surrounded by a well-dressed crowd enjoying drinks and conversation. I started with the tuna tartare, which was incredibly fresh, followed by the half-roasted chicken--perfectly cooked, unbelievably juicy, and full of flavor. Whatever their secret is, it works. The next morning, breakfast was just as impressive. I ordered the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, and the eggs were cooked to perfection with beautifully runny yolks. The fresh-squeezed orange juice tasted like it had just come straight from the orchard, and the cappuccino was the perfect start to the day. I sat at the bar both times, and Percilla, the bartender, truly stood out. She was warm, engaging, and attentive--clearly knowing many of the regulars and exactly what they liked. That same level of friendly, personalized service carried through from the night before. I booked this reservation in advance as we would be arriving in NYC on our 21st Anniversary and I wanted to go somewhere nice with the family and the Pierre Hotel has sentimental childhood value for me. We had spent the day traveling to the city and then walking and enjoying the mild October weather for the afternoon. This was my teen sons' first visit and we were trying to see and do as much as possible in the few days we had. Our table was ready for us, even though we arrived 20 minutes early and the service was amazing. They were able to offer recommendations based on the items we could not choose between, and we felt truly cared for while we were there. My husband and I popped out for 5 minutes after ordering to go look at the beautiful chocolate shop in the hotel as well and got a few special gift items to take home with us. Dinner was amazing and I felt like the restaurant, the ambiance, the food, the service and the pricing were well balanced between what I would call a "fancy dinner out" but without costing a small fortune. Had an amazing experience at Perrine Restaurant in Manhattan! The service was TOP-NOTCH - our waiter went ABOVE AND BEYOND! Friendly and welcoming staff made us feel right at home. I did have a slight mix-up with the charcuterie board (didn't realize it didn't come with cheese and fruits), but the waiter was amazing and quickly hooked me up with a plate of one. They did charge for it, but honestly, I was so happy to get what I wanted to accompany the meat board. It made the experience that much better! They do have a $79 of 2 hour bottomless choice of Bellini, Mimosa or Bloody Mary, but I wasn't in the mood to drink. I was blown away by the beautiful European-style dining room - no wonder it's TikTok famous! Only bummer is it's mainly for catered parties, but they were cool with us taking pictures and videos in it and I heard they are always fine with people doing so :) Parking's a bit of a challenge (of course, it's Manhattan), but there's a parking garage right across the street. "Something fancy and impressive" was the request from my coworkers and global visitors of my workplace. Perrine was the right choice as it offered traditional French cuisine and satisfactory portions of classic European dishes. I could've gone with other signature New York fine dining establishments but this place has the visuals and food to match it. This restaurant shares its space with a hotel and an accessible stage room, perfect for holiday parties for huge companies. The food itself was fantastic and we came here on a typical weekday lunch time. Very packed but the service was great in catering to the lunch rush crowd. Most of the dishes I ate didn't make it to my camera so I'll describe each in detail. Lobster bisque soup had a great presentation where they showed the blend and poured it from a metallic boat, making sure the bits of lobster meat was nicely decorated on top of my soup bowl. Next was the Branzino because I love a good crisp cut of fish with the grilled skin and buttery meat underneath. It was seasoned well with herbs and garlic cream sauce. I did get the opportunity to take a picture of my strawberry meringue panna cotta. This was one of the best panna cottas I had because the meringue, custard, powdered sugar and fruits were toppled in the right order for the flavors to soak in well. I enjoy a good meringue and this was so much fun to take bit by bit whilst tasting. It was a victory decision for me choosing this place and even better introducing it to my coworkers. I went for my friends birthday as she wanted to celebrate her birthday somewhere upscale with a nice backdrop. There was another room you can reserve but I believe you need to pay 1200 to book, so we just decided to reserve the room after dinner to take photos. We ordered a few things, and all of them came out fine and not bad! We ordered shrimp cocktail, charceuterie board, spaghetti with tomato sauce, steak, escargots, fries and two different salads: Salade Frisée Aux Lardons & Salade Perrine. Amongst the 7 of us we paid around 150 each for all of this including the espresso martinis. I would say the steak and the salads are the only thing I would really come back for while the rest were sort of mid - the steak was cooked very well and pretty yummy and I enjoyed personally the escargots but it wasn't a table favorite. The cocktail shrimp was fresh but not anything to note back on and spaghetti was very very mid. I will say the charcuterie board came with pate that tasted very good and I enjoyed some of the jams and meats on there. The espresso martinis tasted quite funky however came with lots of alcohol so you're getting your 35 dollar hit of alcoholism at least. I think it's way too expensive for the quality you receive here. The free birthday cake they sent was really bad and dry and I ended up not enjoying the fact one of the waiters at the end poked fun at us after we decided to leave by saying xie xie since we're all Asian and the staff laughed about it but we're not all Chinese so I just found this to be inappropriate and rude. read more

They really just didn't do a good job. The final insult was the bill. Three people for cups of coffee, two orders of salmon, two egg white omelette, one order of avocado and an order of wheat toast. Came by with two friends on a Wed. We had reservations, but at the time the restaurant wasn't too busy - a handful of tables here and there with the overall elegantly quiet atmosphere. We decided to order a few dishes to share family-style. First, we had the crab imperial flatbread. The crab was very tasty and I liked the herbs that added a nice touch. However, I found the flatbread itself to be a bit bland (e.g. the crusts without crab on it in particular were not very tasty). We also had the striped bass which was quite nice. Fish was fresh and well cooked, and the complementary potato addition was a nice textural contrast. Finally, we had the paneer pasanda which was my favourite. I loved the tomato sauce (which I actually ended up using for some of the less-flavoured bites of the flatbread). The cheese itself was a bit hard texturally - difficult to cut but was OK to chew. The finger millet was not to my taste but I think was fine to pair with the paneer. Service was overall very attentive but I did think that the food took abnormally long to come, especially given the relatively small number of other customers at the time. Price point was about as expected, if not a bit lower, which was nice to see. Good experience overall but given the glut of fantastic restaurants in the city I'm not sure if I'm that keen on coming back soon. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to fine dining, so it's always nice when a friend gives a recommendation. While I don't plan on making a habit of coming to Perrine (and my wallet is very thankful for that), it was an excellent experience overall. Staff was incredibly attentive throughout my meal, and willing to accommodate requests -- they even asked the kitchen for loose mint leaves to brew mint tea from scratch, very kind of them to go above and beyond like that. The food was delicious. We had their beet salad, as well as tuna tartare to start. Both were fresh and full of flavor, with decently sized portions. Lots of tuna in the tartare dish. For mains, I had a pasta dish with ragu, and it was definitely worth the price. The pasta tasted freshly made, and was prepared perfectly. And the ragu sauce had me almost licking my plate. Finally, we shared a pavlova for dessert, and can't recommend it strongly enough. It was a great balance of textures and flavors, a great way to end the meal. I have to laugh at some of the Restaurant Week reviews --- if you go during a time when prices are discounted and there are more guests than usual because it's cheaper, then service/quality are just NOT going to be as good as normal. Both were good and has good flavor profile . Everyone liked their dishes as well . Arrived in New York and checked into The Pierre Hotel. We were starving, so it was decided upon dining at Petrine. Finding the entrance was kind of tricky, but managed to find the secret door. Reservations is recommended, since it's an upscale restaurant. Started off with cocktails which starts at $20.00 , the boyfriend had the "Last Word" and he ordered "Oh my Gato" for me. The cocktail was made out of gin, Parma Liquor, lime juice, cucumber. The cucumber was musdwith basil which gave it a bitter aftertaste (not my favorite) For appetizers, we ordered the oyster in a half shell. They were small, which resembled Kumamoto's which are creamy on its own or topped with a minuet sauce or a squeeze of lemon. Because it was a cold evening, I opted for the thief classic French Onion soup and roasted, Brussel sprouts. The soup was rich, slightly salty with a burnt aftertaste to it. The Brussels sprouts was was roasted with almonds and granola. The granola gave it an interesting flavor which I enjoyed. The boyfriend, had the Pierre grass fed burger, topped with watercress. Grilled onions, remoulade sauce, Rupert cheese and pommes frites on the side We also ordered their Cavatelli in a hand cut bolognese and basil. My husband and I are friends with a nice couple, V & G. G was an old coworker of my husbands when we lived in Philly. G still works in Philly. V works in New Jersey. They have many friends in the city, including us. This time they came to visit, it was for restaurant week. This year, it was the 30th anniversary for restaurant week, so it went on in the city for 30 days. Restaurant Week celebrates local restaurants by serving a specialized 2-3 course lunch and/or dinner at a set price. Places that you otherwise wouldn't go to because it is expensive, this is the time to go try these places out. A lot of cities host their own restaurant week, so take the opportunity to go and try them. V & G booked Perrine before we asked them if they'd be interested in doing restaurant week with us. So they put 2 & 2 together and all 4 of us went. It's in the upper east side, right next to Central Park. So it caters to the wealthier patrons in the area. We are not their usual clientele. I remember the food was delicious. Our appetizers included grilled octopus (which 3 of us got), and the grilled chicken nuggets (which my husband got). The nuggets came with a kind of sauce that I remember being really good, super addictive. I would have just eaten the sauce by itself. For the entree, I think I got the steak or short-ribs (I can't remember), my husband got the pasta, V got the swordfish, and G got the sea bass (I think). We all got different entrees so we could try each others. Of course they were all really good. G also got a side of ratatouille. We got two bottles of wine total. The bottles were not cheap and I'm pretty sure the waiter or sommelier, whomever it was, ripped us off. Because after we left the restaurants, we looked up that same bottle we bought and it's a $15 bottle of wine. We were charged $80 for it. But it was restaurant week, so we didn't say anything. For dessert, it was the chocolate cake and a blueberry tart thingy, really delicious, definitely the icing on the cake. We were all so full it was hard to eat the dessert but we managed to do it. Then we swore we wouldn't eat for the next 3 days. Overall, great service, great ambience, excellent food, and nice location. Is the new French menu an excuse to raise prices? Steak with Fries was $62, now Steak Frites is $72 on the new French menu, Roasted chicken was $46, a "simply prepared" option was $39, and now it is $52 without options. Shocking to us regulars, given that the quality remains the same, and only the menu language changed. The French menu format does not make Perrine a French restaurant, nor does it justify the higher pricing. Then there are a few faux-pas, the delicious rolls have been replaced by mini baguettes. While that sounds Frenchy, crustless dough shaped like a tiny baguette is not French. I'm sure Chef Michael will fix that soon. The wine list remained the same on paper, but we tried to order three different mid-priced wines before finding one they still had. Perrine continues to serve delicious, fancy cocktails at the bar and their service staff is second to none. We will watch the new Perrine format from the bar, enjoying one of the best Espresso Martinis in Manhattan, but until the prices return to normal, we will not cross into the dining area. It didn't seem like they were being phony because we saw they had returning diners and they greeted each one of them in a friendly manner, but we were newcomers and we were also received in the same way. I believe our servers name was Tom and he was great! He discussed the menu with us and we asked him about suggestions on drinks. We decided on: Badoit sparkling water, a Paradise Kitty cocktail, an Oh My Gato cocktail and a Grey Goose Honey Deuce. The server was on break otherwise we probably would have ordered other drinks. For appetizers we decided on: Summer Salad Tuna Tartare and Char-Grilled Octopus. The Summer salad was delicious! I also tried the tuna tartare which was pretty good. I didn't try the octopus but I was told it tasted great as well. For entres we had: Grilled Swordfish Steak that came with peppers spinach and sauce piperade, Spring Chicken that came with white wine, zucchini mushrooms and peppers and Duo of Beef with a $15 supplement that included a Petite Filet & Braised Short Rib, parsnip puree, garlic spinach and shallots. Everything was delicious. I'd definitely go back to have the swordfish steak myself. The petite filet was okay in comparison to other steaks I've had only because it didn't seem like it was very seasoned but it still was good. However, the braised short rib was really good and was seasoned and had a great sauce with it. We also ordered a side of Glazed Carrots and a side of Pommes Frites a la carte. A great addition to our meals! There was this sauce for the carrots that we decided to try with the beef and the chicken it was sooo good!! For dessert we had Warm Chocolate Cake and Blueberry Chiffone Cake. I was told the cake wasn't too chocolatey and the ice cream was really good. The blueberry chiffone cake had lots of blueberries on top and it came with sorbet. I didn't know what to expect for this cake but it was different. I would try a different dessert next time. We sat inside because we're in the middle of a ridiculous heatwave but we look forward to returning and maybe checking out the terrace seating which I believe is totally different from the outside street seating. They also have a beautiful rotunda which we didn't get to sit in but the artwork inside is gorgeous! Theres a mural that extends from the walls to the ceilings and it's absolutely gorgeous!! I have to say, I booked this place for brunch because of the view and art it had to offer. To sum up my review before I go into it: three star service, four star food, with five star ambiance. 12:30 during a rainy Sunday and an active marathon right outside leaves it not packed, but moderately filled with patrons waiting for breakfast foods and cocktails. My two friends arrived before me, and the first thing I noticed were the servers' not so efficient ... service. They were lovely and patient with us, but they were definitely the kind not to check up if everything was okay, henceforth we needed to flag them down for everything. After we were served our drinks (and btw, $20 is highway robbery for one peach bellini/mimosa/skinny margarita/pretty much all their cocktails on menu) and we'd had them for quite some time, we kind of had to wave for the rest of our order. A pre-fixe with the addition of the watermelon feta salad (which was just ok compared to other restaurants serving it). We all got steak and eggs, lol, with the steak being cooked at different preferred temps. Just okay, nothing special. Pretty forgettable but better than diner steak and eggs. One of our servers offered us bread at the beginning btw, but he never delivered so of course we had to flag him down for that too as our entrees were already half eaten So dessert time. We ordered the lemon tart, pavlova, warm chocolate cake, and the blueberry tart with creme brulee ice cream because why not. The spoons they gave us were dirty looking -_- I had second hand embarrassment when we told the waiter and he was trying to explain that they just weren't polished. Okaaay. You didn't have to explain, we just want new spoons lol. The dessert was pretty standard. Could definitely find better elsewhere. They were pretty though. The bill comes! My friends pay because they wanted to celebrate a milestone of mine. But after the initial charge, we noticed we were not charged for pre-fixe prices -_- another strike from their staff. "Bread with unsalted guacamole" would have been a better name. And my lox bagel wasn't up to the NYC standard I expected. Bagel was hard and old, lox was flavorless, tomatoes were hard and flavorless. Everything needed loads of salt to have any flavor. Came here for restaurant week. The place is inside Perrine Hotel and and near Central Park. I was surprised that it was fairly empty when I arrived for a Friday 7pm dinner. The food was pretty good, the two appetizers: tuna tartare and heirloom tomato salad was really good. Tuna was fresh and nicely paired with the sauce. Tomato salad was also refreshing however, wish there was more burrata. The two main course, beef short ribs and swordfish; short rib was nicely paired with the sauce but the swordfish could use a little work; maybe it was the wrong sauce pairing. The desserts were good! Loved the creme brûlée from here, it had a little bit of a citrus taste! The warm chocolate cake was pretty good, warm and chocolaty but can get a bit overwhelming when you eat too much since it's heavy. I would go back to try their lamb chop and other dishes if I'm around the area. read more
