I had the whipped ricotta which was fantastic as an app. For the mains my friend & I got rigatoni (no burrata added or was rich as it is haha) & the chicken Parmesan as well. The portions are gigantic so do keep that in mind, especially the chicken Parmesan. The place is super busy but rightfully so. We started with drinks and I was glad to see a fun NA option on the menu besides just soda. I got a phony negroni and it's one of my favorites! We ordered the cauliflower appetizer to start and were impressed with just how good it was. The cauliflower was cooked perfectly with a nice crisp, yet softness to it. For entrees, we dug into different pasta dishes, again both delicious! No complaints here! When we started our meal, it was fairly quite, but as the night went on, it got loud inside. They say La Pecora Bianca is the "olive garden" of New York City and I see why they say that although LPB is much much better than that chain restaurant haha. Had a great meal and I can see why this place is an ol' reliable when it comes to people who want pasta in NYC. The spicy rigatoni is what people tend to rave about and I gotta say it definitely was the best of the night. I gotta get used to being okay with pasta dishes not containing meat because I always lean towards the sausage ones which tend to be hit or miss; the one here was good, and no real complaints, but the spicy rigatoni was just sooo nice. It was simple but quite delicious, with silky yummy pools of cheese decorating it and a nice al dente texture with a gentle spice/heat running throughout it. The food was amazing, the service was great, and the decor is bright and airy. I enjoyed it so much, I brought my girlfriends back the following week for a GNO on Friday, 3/13. A Must-Visit NYC Gem! On a recent trip to New York City, my friend brought me to La Pécora Bianca, assuring me it would not disappoint--and she was absolutely right. We went straight from the airport, and the moment we walked in, I loved the warm, low lighting and real candles. The cozy, relaxing atmosphere was exactly what I needed after a long day of travel. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Our server, Jasmine, was friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations. Drinks arrived quickly, and both the martini and margarita were fresh and perfectly balanced. Felix, our food runner, was personable and impressively quick. For dinner, I ordered the Rigatoni with beef and pork bolognese--perfectly al dente (a must for me!) with a generous portion that I fully intended to save... but it was so delicious I couldn't leave a bite behind. My friend chose the Campanelle with roasted shrimp, which she loved; she said the chili flakes added just the right amount of heat and flavor. To top it all off, Margie, the general manager, stopped by our table to check in and chat about the restaurant--a thoughtful touch that made the experience even more memorable. Oh my gosh this is the worst restaurant in NYC ever. As a New York native and resident of NYC for years, I can confidently say that I have never experienced service so bad. I had a reservation yesterday and my party and I arrived within 10 minutes and were seated. The hostess immediately tells us, "There is a reservation following yours (1.5 hours later) so we will not kick you out but be mindful." I have never had anyone tell me that at any other restaurant ever, no matter how busy or muted the scene was. Once we sat down, our waiter told us the same thing the waitress told us. We ordered an appetizer which took 20 minutes to come and it was literally just corn kernals. Then, 40 minutes into our reservation we had to CALL THE WAITER OVER so that we could order our entrees. We were trying to be respectful of the reservation after ours but it was exceedingly difficult when the waiter would not attend to us. Our food came literally 10 minutes before our reservation was supposed to be "over" even though there was no time frame communicated to us in the reservation email. At promptly 7:30, when the next reservation was supposed to be seated, THE WAITER COMES OVER AND SLAPS DOWN THE CHECK without even asking if we wanted to order dessert. We were literally all speechless because of how incredibly rude that was. Also, the food was terrible. It gave all five of us stomach aches and the pasta was kind of hard (and I have been to Italy multiple times so I know the difference between undercooked, al dente, and over cooked pasta). LPB has been on my restaurant list for a while now so I was excited to try it out. The individuals I was with were all dressed nicely as well so it's not like we were rude and unpresentable. Part of me wishes I would have gotten some of their signature pasta, but since I had a lot of walking to do, I didn't want to eat a heavy meal. And their salad was perfect for that. I ordered the brussels salad, which is made with shaved brussels sprouts, pickled raisins, sunflower seeds and parmesan. It was perfectly filling. I also got a lemon basil soda. This was bright, sweet, fresh, a perfect spring N/A drink. I was a bit worried that I wouldn't be able to get a table on short notice after I didn't see any available lunch reservations that day. First, make sure you double check the location you make a reservation for. There are two on 2nd Ave. Apparently the UES side is in the 80s while the spot on 50th is known as Midtown. We were able to be seated at the Midtown spot despite having a reservation for UES by mistake. Oops and also, whew! The ambiance is nice and the food was very good. In the end, it comes down to that pesky value proposition. You be the judge, a shared salad, a shared cocktail, two bowls of pasta and a shared dessert...$104 before tax and tip. Maybe that's normal now... The pasta is scratch made and composed of tasty components / sauces. If a pork chop entree is $30, should a bowl of pasta be $28? $17 cocktails at least insures most will not be over served I suppose ;). This was a good meal with great service and ambiance. If you are looking for a great lunch deal in Midtown, this is a wonderful option. They offer a two course meal for just $30 with large portions. For my first course I ordered the cauliflower and it was so well cooked, extremely flavorful and enough to have leftovers. For my main entrée, I ordered the kale salad with salmon. Since I'm gluten-free they remove the Parmesan crisp, but I felt like the salad needed some lemon and less ricotta. The salmon was cooked perfectly, but I probably wouldn't order that type of salad again. The actual restaurant is very spacious, light and vibrant. It's in a nice area with many other restaurants nearby and shopping. Now this is why it's four stars instead of five stars. The service. When I walked in the hostess checked me in and acknowledge that we were celebrating a birthday because I had noted in my reservation. The food is good, not great. I get that it's supposed to represent simple Italian food but I really didn't feel like it lived up to the hype. I ordered a rigatoni and asked for protein, they offered a chicken breast piece on the side. The pasta was quite creamy and nice, the chicken, on the other hand, was extremely dry, bland and overcooked which ruined the experience of the pasta sadly. The tiramisu for 2 is like tiramisu for 5. It also felt very dense and heavy. Did not have the light, airy and fresh aspect I usually expect from a tiramisu. Unless you're in a big group that could share, I'd recommend skipping, you won't be missing out. Service was pretty nice, the waiter was sweet and gave some good recommendations on drinks and food. The servers are all very attentive always filling up the water glasses. The restaurant was fairly empty on New Year's day at 7PM, but they sat everyone at the front corner by the windows when they could have spread everyone out - the tables were so close together that I could hear everything the finance bros next to me were saying, so they could have taken out one table to allow for extra space. We came here on Cinco De Mayo 2023 for dinner because there were long waiting times for places in the area that served Mexican cusiine. Although we accidentally stumbled upon La Pecora Bianca, we were pleasantly surprised and had a good experience. La Pecora Bianca has beautiful yet simple decor that includes the restaurant having lighting all throughout the place. The menu has pasta dishes, ameican dishes, salads, appetizers, etc. The burger was juicy, and the french fried were crispy. I ordered a Woodford ($2.00 up-charge) Old Fashioned which ended up being $21 for a half full glass. For dinner, I ordered the Roasted Cauliflower appetizer and the Garganelli pasta and requested all to be served together. Service was prompt and food was delivered hot. The Cauliflower appetizer had good flavor and the vegetable was not overcooked. The Garganelli house made pasta was tasty and fresh. Both were smothered in oil, perhaps too much for my taste. Next time, if there is one, I would ask for less oil. The bill was presented by using the App Sunday. I scanned a code and the invoice popped up with tip suggestions. I selected 18% but as you can tell from the bill, it is more like 20% (19.58) and I was charged $.49 for using the App. $81.40 total for a solo meal. I've dined at this location of La Pecora Bianca a few times. It's popular during the weekday during lunch as there are office buildings nearby. Like several other La Pecora Bianca locations, they have a nice lunch special. It's $30 for two courses. I'm making a note that I've dined for lunch and ordered the same items at several locations and I've found the food to be pretty consistent and the service to be very good. Ordered, 2 course lunch special: The roasted cauliflower appetizer- this is the best appetizer they serve in my opinion. The roasted cauliflower is tender and serve atop an aioli flavored with Calabrian chilis. What makes this dish standout is the addition of pickled raisins and pine nuts. The little crunch and sweetness adds a very nice touch. The cauliflower portion size has varied but overall it's been a nice size. Caesar salad with shrimp- I ordered this salad with the shrimp on the side. They gave me five shrimp, which was a pretty generous portion, although another location gave six shrimp. I recommend requesting that they bring the protein on a separate plate because that way the warm shrimp, chicken or salmon won't wilt the lettuce. The salad had breadcrumbs, cheese and a tasty and creamy dressing. I'd return to La Pecora Bianca for lunch. It took a while for our server to get to us and the food also took rather long to arrive. Then, the food was average at best. We ordered the crispy artichokes and crispy brussels sprouts. The artichokes were okay, but the brussels sprouts were far too sweet with the honey it honestly didn't taste that good. As for the mains, we ordered the rigatoni, the garganelli, and the gramigna. The rigatoni was okay -- the pasta didn't seem cooked enough and had too much chew. I would not recommend the gramigna -- the flavor profile was not great and the pasta was not cooked well. The garganelli was the best out of the 3, but maybe just out of relativity. I'm not sure if we just came on a bad night, but it definitely did not feel worth the price tag as you could definitely cook better pasta at home. read more

I went back because I had some issues with another location and Matt (not sure of his title) was kind enough to make a reservation for myself and 3 of my friends. (Late, who no longer works there had promised us a return visit but then I never heard back so I went to social media (DM thru IG) and they responded. Once we got through this beaureaucratic mess, all went well. We went and had the lunch special. Daisy, hostess was kind and humorous which helped. We were all greeted nicely and decided to order various apps from the cauliflower with pickled raisins, toasted pine nuts, calabrian aioli (this was good but very spicy), whipped ricotta with truffle honey and country toast (very good). We also ordered the chicken paillard with castelvetrana olives, toasted almonds and parmesean (very good) and rigatoni with vodka sauce and stracciatella (very good). The black coffee was del ious and then Daisy brought us out a tiramisu with the "sheep" logo. It was yummy and adorable. I do love the vibe of this place. Though our one negative was that my college daughter was sitting in her down coat in the restaurant because it was very cold- we asked them to turn the heat on. Of course they did and once it warmed up, the coat came off. the place is very pretty with a "library" on the side and their bar area is very nice as well.
