We talked with the people at length and they were extremely informative about all the kittens personalities. The kitten we selected is active and extremely affectionate. Obviously he had very good care. I think the Hawaii Cat Foundation does a great job for our community. As with any pet adoption you have to be willing to be honest about what your needs are and the kind of personality you require in a cat. My husband and I couldn't be happier with our interaction with the Hawaii Cat Foundation. I have been able to text and email with questions and received quick and courteous responses.

It seems that Vita takes very good care of the cats. However, there were many business issues working with her. I originally picked and put a deposit on a different cat. I asked to visit the cat. After I got to Vita's home to visit the kitten she apologized and said that cat had been promised to someone else. I said it was ok that she made a mistake. She said I could have a discount on another kitten due to the mistake. I picked another and she said he was unavailable because she was thinking of breeding him. He had been available on my first visit. I asked for my deposit back. She encouraged me to pick another cat but did agree to refund me. After a few days, she texted me and said the cat I wanted was available. She was not going to breed him. However, he was special so I could not have a discount. I said ok because I really wanted him. I paid $3500 for him. When I picked him up, I got the vet paperwork. I read it when I got home and it was hard to decipher. I texted and asked her for the vet's phone number. It had the name of a vet that I googled and was on Ft. Shafter but there was no phone number. Vita didn't respond to my requests for the vet info. The cat was neutered and microchipped when I got him. I went to register the chip at petlink and the cat was registered to Vita. I asked her many times to transfer the chip. She ignored me. I called Petlink and they said I would have to have a vet bill in my name or a contract to prove ownership then the chip could be transferred. Vita also would not provide me a contract to show ownership. I took the cat to my vet to establish ownership. My vet looked over the record Vita gave me and my vet said that the paperwork (record) showed that the cat needed his second vaccine. I told Vita through text. She called me yelling at me that I would kill the cat with another vaccine and that she was going to drive to my house to get the cat back. Later, I wrote her an email explaining how difficult it had been to work with her. In summation, through her response back, she said I was an angry person and needed to go to the beach. Before I bought the cat, she had told me that the parents of the cat were screened for HCM. After the experience that I have explained, I decided that I no longer trusted her. I had the dwelf genetically tested for HCM. The test came back and showed that the cat is a genetic carrier for HCM. I reached out to her to tell her and she did not respond. The test recommends that based on his carrier status I have an echogram once a year. This is an expense I wasn't expecting. Overall, after falling in love with this cat and ignoring warnings that I should walk away and now knowing about the HCM status I would recommend finding another breeder. I've worked with other breeders and this was a very unusual experience.

However, the reason why I highly recommend Purradise Cat Care is because the amount of care they provide you during and even after. I lost both my fur babies within a week apart. They were about 15 and 16 years old. Yoshi had kidney failure and I put him to sleep. They gave me some time with him and let me hold him while he crossed over. They also didn't expect me to pay for any bills that day, they let me come back to pay my dues. The following week, Stella ended up having a seizure and passing at home. I brought her body to get cremated. Again, they gave me a room to have some time with her and let me pay my bill at a later time. The loss of both of them broke my heart. Purradise cat care sent my flowers and were very sweet to me after losing my fur babies. I couldn't have asked for a better vet. I finally got to pick up their paw prints and ashes. I am still grieving the loss of my babies as I write this. But I am grateful to have had purradise car care as my vet throughout their lives. Highly recommend them.

Kim from Canine Body works has been working with my dog Rocket he is a beautiful 8 year old cocker spaniel who is very happy and basically loves everyone. Just recently he started to slow down and we noticed his paws were keeping him from being his out going self. I met Kim though the Hawaiian Humane Society Volunteer program. We scheduled a meet and greet with Rocket and she did some work on him for us. She visited and he was so happy to see her and now always is. He enjoys her company and he gets to relax and be taken care of. When she leaves he is so calm and I have such a peace of mind we are doing everything we can to keep him healthy and happy. Just last week Rocket had to have surgery for a lipoma removed and Kim stayed in touch with us the whole time. She even gave us a tincture for rockets recovery. Next week he will get his stitches out and Kim (Canine body works) will be here to help him on his way to recovery. She works will all kinds of animals and if very familiar and comfortable with all. Were so happy to have found our therapist for our beloved Rocket. Oh and we live a bit ways out she comes to us. That helps tremendously..

We decided to try Cozy Cat Lodge in Kaneohe for a few days, and we are really glad we did. The place is a little hard to find at first. Near the entrance there is a three way fork. The gate on the left leads to a farm. You take the middle road, which is a dirt road. Cozy Cat Lodge is the second house on the right with the Cat Cozy sign on top. The owner, Nani, had a three tier cage so that our three cats could be together, but still have their own space. She also added boxes inside, which our cats love. Our renovation took longer than expected and we had to change our cats' stay with Nani a few times. She was very quick to help us each time and was very accommodating. The rate is $25 plus tax per cat per day. I think this is very reasonable. She also offers after hours pick ups for a small fee. Just make sure your cat(s) have all their shots and flea medicine up to date beforehand. Our cats were well cared of and now we know where we will bring them the next time we need a sitter.
