Wow! Great Indian food. We were actually heading to another restaurant but saw this and tried instead. So glad we did. Paneer masala, chicken tikka masala and fish curry. The service was truly great and restaurant was nicely decorated.

Should be a four, the food was pretty good ...but the service wasn't and there were several other misgivings. Our waitress prioritized other tables leaving us waiting when we arrived and also when we left making me chase the check; I hate that! No refills. No follow up. No tea. No ice for the ice water. She didn't even run the food out. Sure, she was sufficiently pleasant but not good. So, you'll get more food here but you'll also pay more; they sort of push you into buying larger "family" style portions and everything's also a la carte down to the naan which isn't "the usual" Indian experience. One main, rice, and an appetizer was enough for two people with a boat load of take away. It's a shame they don't do a lunch menu or offer combinations because the pricing sort of forced a lack of variety you'll not get at other Indian restaurants unless you want to pay for all the extras. Canned sodas and plastic condiment/portions cups didn't bespeak of the quasi snazzy atmosphere and price point. Overall, meh.

As an Indian myself, it so refreshing and exciting to find an authentic Indian restaurants with all the yummy traditional dishes that remind me of my home country. Absolutely loved all the dishes I've had so far and love bringing my friends and family to this place (they enjoyed this restaurant just as much!!). Service is incredible, the staff is very friendly, professional and efficient. Like the ambiance of the restaurant as well, clean and relatively casual. Whether you're Indian and miss food from back home, or someone looking to try this cuisine for the first time - this is the place to come visit! Totally recommend!

The 4 of us got the following, and we still had leftovers: Entries come with basmati rice, and can be had mild or medium. Vegetable korma: this was a surprise hit. I love korma and this is better than many of the Indian places I've tried in NY. The veggies were nice and had some paneer in it too, but I want to try a meat korma next time. Butter chicken: a nice standard one, with a little more tomato flavor than I'm used to. The chicken was just slightly dry but overall this was a good dish. Shrimp biryani: we had this as medium spice and think that was the way to go as it added a lot of flavor. It also comes with two side sauces although I don't think it adds much to the dish. The shrimp was seasoned well and somewhat tender. We also got garlic and chili Naan - thought the garlic was better.

    A little of everything!

We tried Persis in n a recommendation from a student in my class. He gave me a list to buy and that's what we went with! For entrees the butter chicken was delicious, the chicken biryani rice was the perfect spice level ( I stuck with mild spice) Chicken 65 and mango lassi smoothie along with garlic naan were the best! This was literally enough food to have three meals for 2 people! I am told the chili chicken is also delicious! The people were so friendly and the food was exactly what we hoped for and expected. We will be back!

Ate here again today and great food and service as always. I forgot to mention in my previous review cost. So for all the food on our table we pay $80 with tip and if you pay cash you get a 10% discount on your bill. $80 for all this food is amazing! It's super filling and you can take it home and it reheats well. The butter chicken is like $18.99 same for the chicken tikka. Rice that comes with your meal is unlimited far as I know, we've came here over 10x and never been billed for more rice even when we ask for some to go.

This place came highly recommended, so we decided to stop for lunch around 1230 pm on a weekday. They were empty. We were greeted by a very friendly man with a mustache who seated us quickly and brought cold water to our table. They had the buffet which my daughter ordered. I opted to order off of the menu and got medium spice chicken vindaloo and garlic naan. The buffet had a variety of chicken, lamb, and lentil dishes. Her chicken dishes looked fantastic-fresh, white meant chicken chunks. Her lentil and potatoes looked dry but her only complaint was that they were bland for her taste. In fairness, she likes spicy dishes. I am very picky about my protein so take my next sentence with that in mind, if you are also picky: My chicken vindaloo was all potatoes with 3-4 pieces of dark meat chicken held together by fat and gristle. The chicken was inedible. The sauce was too thick-I have eaten vindaloo many many places and never had it look like this in my life. It was clumpy. The basmati rice it came with was fine. The garlic naan I ordered and the butter naan (came with the buffet) were both so soaked in butter that the naan was immediately soggy and not at all good. I think that the key to this place is to order off the buffet during lunch. Indeed, the man who seated us appeared to "highly suggest" the buffet and seemed nonplussed when I requested the menu. We were so disappointed in this place and will not return.

Atmosphere was nice, everything had a upscale touch to it. They give the table a fancy pitcher of water and glass then tell you to start when your ready. Nana was hot and fresh. We ordered the chicken saag (saagwala), chicken curry, cheese naan, onion kulcha, and samosas. The chicken saag was a little different than other saags I've had, and it wasn't as herbaceous as I expected. I ordered it mild and it had no spice at all, which was fine with me. The chicken curry was good as well, it was very tomatoey with a slightly smoky flavor. I ordered that one medium expecting a little heat, but there wasn't really any spice, which was a bit disappointing. In both chicken dishes, some of the pieces of chicken were a little overcooked and slightly dry, but the sauces themselves were still flavorful. Both dishes came with rice, which was a little bland on its own but worked well once you mixed it with the sauces. The onion kulcha was definitely a highlight. It was soft and had a ton of onion baked right into the dough, which I loved. The cheese naan was fine, not bad, but not particularly memorable either. The samosas were also really good. The filling was flavorful and they were perfectly fried. They came with two sauces: a green sauce that tasted really fresh and herby with a nice kick, and a sweeter brown sauce (I think tamarind) that was a little sweeter than I personally prefer. Portion sizes were okay but not huge, and the overall price felt a little on the higher side for the amount of food. That said, I'd still come back to try some other dishes, and I would definitely order the onion kulcha again

That's fair, I guess, but that just needs to be better. Food came out timely and nice and hot, the tandoori chicken sizzling up a storm. Now for the food. I started off by getting a Vegetarian Special Appetizer (A combination platter with samosa, aloo tikki, onion bhajiya, mixed pakoras and chili pakoras) for the table. These are always fun, because you don't always know what you're eating. Samosas are always wonderful, and the onion bhajiya is like a better latke. Get this if you like to sample things. Then I had a Lamb Biryani (Lamb and basmati rice cooked with saffron and spices, garnished with cilantro, nuts and raisins). If you're a biryani fan, I'd probably pass on this one. Not a great example of biryani. Very little saffron and other garnishes. There are other great things on this menu. Of course, I had to get some Garlic Naan (Light bread made with fresh garlic, herbs and cilantro). A+ delicious. Light, rippable, soft, garlicky, good for grabbing food like you don't have silverware and adding flavor and texture to every bite. The Chicken Tandoori (Chicken marinated overnight in yogurt with fresh Indian spices and grilled in a clay oven) came out last and on its own, sizzling like the center of attention like a steak fajita. Chicken was well-cooked and very tender. Lots of good flavor, but maybe a little too salty. Overall, this was a very good introduction to Indian food for a few of my co-workers. I'm glad we came.
