In response to Jack T.'s review and sent to him personally. Dear Mr. Tripp, I just read your online review and was absolutely blown away by your comments. Normally our manager would jump right on this and do whatever we could to help fix a bad experience. However, this is so filled with lies and is such an obvious attempt by you to not accept responsibility for your own actions, and a deliberate act by you to be an online cyber bully, that I felt compelled to respond to you in person. Being the person who literally wrote the book on anti cyber bullying, I simply refuse to let your lies and lack of integrity go unaddressed. Let's go ahead and address each issue in the order that you put them in your review. "The ploy to soften the blow and the fee" There is no ploy here. We do a progress check with every student, regardless of age, after their third class to ensure that they are progressing as discussed in your introductory lesson. Yes, everyone gets to break a board but it has nothing to do with "softening the blow". There is no blow. If you had done any research at all, you would find that our prices are right in line with the top, full time, martial arts schools in the country. We do not attempt to compete with gym or recreation style programs because they do NOT offer everything that we offer. Other programs charge what they feel they are worth and we charge what we know we are worth. If you did not agree with the price you could have simply said no. The "astronomical enrollment fee" Again you dramatically overstate what was simply your first month's tuition and a small enrollment fee. Obviously you know this because it was presented to you in writing at the time of enrollment and you chose to leave that part out of your review. Third class At that progress check (your 3rd class) you were given a 7 question survey and asked to rate us 1 through 5 on various aspects of our faculty and program. The score of 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. You were asked to please respond honestly to the questions and give us your feedback. On that questionnaire you gave us all 5's (the highest possible score). If it were possible I would post it here for everyone to see but unfortunately posting it is not possible. However, anyone wishing to come down to our facility and view your progress report is welcome to schedule an appointment to stop by and see it at any convenient time. We also invite people to read your hand written comments where you state: These are direct quotes and answers from your progress check questionnaire 1. 5 rating - "Very patient and friendly" 2. No rating and No comments - see below 3. Yes - "My son enjoyed learning something new" - This question asks for a yes or no 4. 5 rating - "Very enthusiastic and positive" 5. 5 rating - "Great patience in teaching" 6. 5 rating - but no comments offered 7. This question asked how we met your expectations and you circled "exceeded." There is no option for a 1 through 5 response on this question. You provided no other comments. Yes, you left the question about price presentation blank and in fact crossed the question out. After checking our manager's log, reviewing the notes, and talking with our manager you were in fact not presented price at the first class, as is customary, because of the maturity level of your son. Brittany wanted to see if your son could actually handle a normal class. She felt that it would have been unethical to sign up your son for a program he could not handle and take your money. We turn young children away every month who are not mature enough to handle our program. Most people would have just signed you up and thrown your son out on his own to sink or swim. Again this did not happen with us, and in fact, we gave your son free booster classes to help him more quickly adjust to class. Brittany handled your situation with unquestionable dignity in my opinion. 6 month program This is a typical trial program to see if a student likes martial arts and wants to stick with it. Remember, you came in on a two week trial and could have left at anytime. It says right in our online ad that if you do not like the trial program you can have a FULL REFUND. You chose not to do that at anytime. If you were unhappy or your child was not making progress you could have asked to be let out of your agreement. YOU NEVER BOTHERED TO EVEN ASK. Again you never bothered to put any of this in your review or address this the few times you spoke with my wife or Brittany. Classes Thank you for your honesty about our classes. Our instructors have substantial training on group dynamics, age appropriate learning models, communication, leadership development and more. Most of our instructors have more time teaching and training than the average 35 year old has at their current job. PMMA's curriculum is phenomenal and not only met my expectations but exceeded them! My daughter started class at PMMA after she experienced bullying at school. Within 3 months, our timid, shy daughter transformed: she became more confident, she learned how NOT to be the target of bullies and she learned how strong she really was, inside and out. They have a high energy environment (WARNING: it's contagious!), the instructors are professional and fantastic role models, life skills are taught and reinforced, and the kids grow in integrity while having a super fun time. Professional Mastery Martial arts is a fantastic martial arts school. Have been very impressed with not only excellent martial arts training but the life skills training which will benefit my child in all areas of life. In order to belt promote grade point averages must be kept high, parents must sign off on chores, school teachers must also sign off.
