The person at the front counter was so kind as I tried to decide which flavors (it was my first time) and the place seemed super clean despite other reviews. I really hope it's turned a new leaf! So today was actually my first time at this one. I ordered a drink. Went to the ice machine and noticed something in my cup of ice. Emptied it and got another same thing as I looked at the ice I recognized the mold particles within it. I recommended they clean it and they begin to speak to each other in their native language. This something that can make a lot of people sick . At least put an out of order on the ice or shut down the entire machine and clean it properly. Kudos to this establishment for enforcing their Covid rules. Due to the issues with poultry shortage, they have tremendously increased their prices. These are the best hot wings I had in the DMV since I moved here 3 years ago. I've been looking for good hot wings for a while. These wings were hot with favor and still crispy and juicy. The best part is that the wings are reasonably priced. We ordered for an 8 o'clock pick up and they were ready on time. The only negative comment I can make is I forgot to ask for blue cheese and they forgot to ask me if I wanted it. I can't believe friends of ours found this place right up the street from us. It was at that moment that I knew I could honestly confirm: -America's Best Wings is the GOAT -Everything on their menu is bomb -The Lanham location is the best -Even if the phone line is busy (which it always is) I'm willing to drive to the business, order in person and wait 15 min for my food -If I wasn't tryna get with #teamnowaist I would eat here every weekend Amazing! And to think I thought the Greenbelt location was the best...not even close honey! P.S--the prices are cheaper at this location! The 4*stars rating is only for this location and the chicken wings. All other America's Best Wings location I would rate 3*stars and the other menu food items would rate 3 stars as well . This is a new location added within the Free State Shopping Center (next door to the Sakura Japanese Restaurant). The location is new and very clean. The staff is very friendly which is probably another reason I like this location over the other ones. Now onto what you came here for the FOOD. All your orders are cooked to order and fresh. They offer a 5pc or 10pc Combo with fries for $6.99/$10.99 respectively. They also offer Fish & Shrimp or Fish and Chicken Wing combos, Steak Subs and Grilled Shrimp, Chicken and fish items. I tried the fried catfish the batter was okay but the fish just didn't taste like catfish. I think they made a mistake in the kitchen or just ran out of catfish and gave me what was available. The Cheesesteak sub.. Just DONT do it (see pic) The chicken cheesesteak may be better but the steak sub is low quality meat (worse than Steak'umms) This is why I tend to just stick to the wings and fried chicken b/c hence the name this is what they do BEST. The wings come in 30 flavors. Count it people 30 flavors! So your combination of sauce selection is endless. With a 10pc combo you can get 5pcs with one sauce and 5pcs with another sauce of your choosing. I always get Lemon Pepper which is the BOMB, unlike most lemon pepper sauces its not dry its slightly wet which makes it so Yummy! Then I alternate the other 5pcs with a new flavor since they have so many to try and they all have been tasty thus far, such as Moondust, Honey BBQ, Cajun, Teriyaki, Hot Garlic etc.. Other popular flavors are the Ranch Powder wings and the Garlic Parmesan ( I've yet to try these). Then with any wing flavor you can do " HOT", which means they will Toss your Wing in the HOT sauce and then toss it for a 2nd time in any other sauce you like, for example HOT BBQ, HOT Teriyaki. Dont forget to order your wings "Crispy or Extra Crispy" Along with your Wing Combo you get a heaping of Crinkle Fries and who doesn't love Crinkle fries!! (my fav) and your combo comes with a 20oz fountain drink. The sauces are pretty addictive so be prepared to come back time and time again. Plus dont forget to ask for Mamba Sauce for your fries. Lastly, they are very stingy with their Blue Cheese and Ranch sauce! You only get 1 sauce per 10 wings ordered. So if you get a 5pc Wing Combo ..NO SAUCE for you and they mean it (LOL), they will happily charge you .25 cents for additional sauces. The sauce is really not big of a deal unless you want them in order to dip your wings in b/c they only give you 3 small celery sticks. Over all the food is pretty good. I have taken a point or two away from them because there hours of operation do not reflect actual production and service. They close 30 minutes earlier than time posted (everyday). I show up at 8 but unless I called in an order I am refused service. I showed up the weekend at 9 because they supposedly close at 9:30 on a Saturday. Pulled up and saw the guy sweeping with no neon lights. A real dissatisfaction. It was no problem over the phone and even the kind young women at the counter acknowledged being aware of my issue from the day before. I even ordered additional food and paid. After waiting for my order and thinking my food was being prepared. I was informed there was a problem in the back with preparing my order. No manager spoke with me that there was a problem. No one from the back was decent enough to show their face or explain why there was an issue. If this business as I overheard has new owners. Okay so I read the reviews before going to this restaurant and decided to order ahead. I ordered the 5powdered ranch wings and 10moondust wings. I walked into the restaurant and up to the register. The man behind the counter seemed to be distracted so I stood there and waiter for him. After about what felt like 5mins or so he said "yes" I told him I was picking up an order for Tammy. He gave me the total and went to retrieve my food, without speaking he opened the box and just looked at me. I said ok he closed the box and pushes the bag toward me and walked away. For the food, honestly I couldn't wait to get home and tried a moondust wing. It was so salty that I had to spit it out, I figured they over salted that one and tried a different wing in the box, again horribly salty. Close that box and down half bottle of water. Now for the powdered ranch, I was iffy due to the heart attack moondust wings, but they was surprisingly delicious lol. I was so upset that I only ordered 5 of those. So so good and I could tell they was fresh. I am giving this location a three star due to the saltiness of the wings and the rudeness of the server. I've had America's Best Wings before but this is the first time going to this location. The service was great. The guy behind the counter was very nice and the guy who bagged of food was friendly too. No complaints there. We opted for carry-out. I got chicken tenders and fries and my bf got the grilled whiting and chicken platter with fried okra, rice, and fries. The tenders were ok. Not great or not horrible. I tried my bf's food. The garlic parmesan wings are good. Can't remember what season he got on the fish but it was bland. He liked the okra and rice. The lemonade and ice tea was not very good. I just looked at another review which had a similar situation "I was visiting from out of town and stopped by for an order of wings and had one of the most surreal and WORST restaurant experiences of my life. The gentleman who took my order did not pay attention and prepared the wrong meal for me. I wanted 5 wings and he gave me 5 wingettes. When I told him that it wasn't what I requested, he became very nasty, raised his voice, started insulting me and telling me that it was my fault. Came here for lunch on the way to a fishing trip. I found out the owners were the former owners of a great chicken place in Baltimore. Being a Baltimore native, I had to try their whole fried wings and I certainly wasn't disappointed. Freshly fried, lightly breaded and perfectly seasoned. I don't like my wings overly seasoned unless they are buffalo wings. Perfect with hot sauce, ketchup and a large half and half. Didn't get to try their sauced wings but they had a ton to choose from so ill have to try them next time I'm in the area. They are busy and get tons of large orders so if you're trying to get a large order or you are in a hurry, I suggest you call ahead. I've been to America's Best Wings in other locations, but this one is by far the best. First of all its clean. I always walk in there and it looks like its spotless. The staff is really laid back and professional with the customers. Regarding the food, I find the food prepared at this location tastes the most fresh, even the wings just seam meatier that the other ones I have visited. I really enjoy the grilled fish when I am trying to be healthy. But I always get sucked in to getting the wings (Moondust and Power Ranch are my faves) and the Chicken Cheesesteak Sub. Pretty good with plenty of selection beyond just wings. Lots of seafood, and what I had was good. Grilled shrimp with rice was nice and the shrimp was well cleaned and seasoned. Considering the number of Chinese places in the area that don't clean their shrimp, I would definitely pay a little more for some quality. Fried tilapia sub was good, but kind of small.
