Happy 4 th of July! We came here for lunch in Haleiwa. It is not a food truck but has indoor and outdoor seating. In this 80 degree heat ceiling fans were barely keeping up so we sat outside. First time trying Peruvian food. Doc had ceviche, I had steak noodles and hubs had tres leches chocolate only cuz he knew shave ice came next down the road. I found my noodles super delicious in some kind of yellow sauce but it wasn't curry. My steak was highly seasoned surrounded by veggies with a tang. I concentrated enjoying the noodles. You order at the counter on the left. Other people did take out. A young lady brought cold water, and our utensils wrapped in a paper napkin. Doc bused our table before we left taking the plates, cups and forks inside.

Pretty good Peruvian food on the island with Inca kola. Can order at the counter or table service. Very casual island vibes out of what looks like a garage. When we arrived it was virtually empty and we said for 8 people and young kid at counter said we need reservation for more than 5. We all were like whaaat! Smarter young girl came up and said no worries and sat us. Was a little funny since there was plenty of open seats.

The boy helping us was so helpful, friendly and efficient! The place is really cute and fun to sit in to eat. The restrooms are clean. We got the yucca fries and homemade cheesecake- both so good! The texture of the cheesecake was extraordinary! One of the best cheesecakes. My kids dad really loved the ceviche trio and he also enjoyed the cheesecake and fries! We can't wait to come back on our next trip out here. Highly recommend.

Hidden along the roundabout to Waialua is this gem of a Peruvian experience. We would not have noticed it had it not been for the neon sign, saying that it was open. Blink and it's easy to miss. While there may not be much of a parking lot, stopping at the Peruvian Corner is like hanging out at your aunty's house, spacious and cozy interior with a television, children's books, and, music to match the experience. So rare so go to a cultural restaurant that plays music to match the cuisine. Speaking of cuisine, SO 'ONO. The casava chips are a family favorite but to be honest we enjoyed everything we ordered. Will return if we're ever in the area.

What a rare find this place is! I knew about it only because my friend had tried it before. I wanted to try a bit of everything, I got the ceviche topped with fried calamari spicy, Lomo Saltado with pasta, baked scallops, and fried yucca. I also got the chicha morada to drink - purple corn drink. Fried yucca is one of my favorite and the cilantro sauce on the side was so good. The ceviche was probably one of the best things I've ever ate. The spice was addictive. It didn't need the calamari. The loma saltado with pasta was very rich, I probably should have had it with the rice and fries but the pasta had a nice buttery taste. The scallops came with a show, a fire in the middle of the scallop shells. The scallops were very cheesy and they had a good flavor. The chicha morada I wasn't really sure about. At first I didn't like it, but then I shook it and I really liked the unique flavor, the cinnamon and pineapple were really good in it. All of that food cost me $80 but I had a lot of food! I am always happy to find a random place on the side of the road, and this one is definitely worth returning to.

We've been here several times, and it never disappoints! The lomo saltado is always tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, and the yuca fries are crispy and delicious. Every meal has been consistently fresh and packed with flavor. Definitely one of our favorite spots for food in Waialua/Haleiwa. We'll keep coming back!

what a fun find! do note that the address on their IG and yelp is wrong!!! they are behind smoking boar and coconut!!! i drove around the old sugar mill and couldn't find it but luckily someone else has posted they are at a different location now! There is not that many places that serve Peruvian food, especially with this extensive of a menu thats offered! I love that theres pictures on the truck, so it's easy to see what the food actually looks like and it is received exactly the same like the picture. They are truly a hidden gem as they are tucked in the back of a existing restaurant in their lawn area. upon entering a small pathway youll first come across some plants for sale ($5) which feeds the homeless! Pretty cool, but i also have a black thumb! There is a bunch of tables with umbrellas and when we went there was a singer! what a cool vibe they got going on here. best of all it is dog friendly! I got 3 items ( the scallops, steak/pasta, and empanada) and it came out to about $60 with tip. My friend got the ceviche with white fish which turned out to be Hamachi. It was also very yummy! Service was also super friendly and best part of all is that it's dog friendly! whoo hoo!

We stopped by for lunch after shopping at a local farmers market - it is a stationary food truck tucked in the back of a cafe in front with plenty of seating and daily live music. I'm so glad we came here! I've been to Peru and love the cuisine! I've tried many lomo saltado (soy sauce "shoyu"-marinated beef strips with tomatoes, cilantro over fries) in San Francisco, here and elsewhere. Peruvian Corner Hawaii serves such a tasty Lomo Saltado that I think it is one of the best I've had! The family that runs it is so hospitable and Aloha! Thank you so much! I would definitely stop by again!

Grilled Octopus, of note the plate comes with rice and salad. We paid to have it substituted for yuca.

The food is AMAZING!! The seasoning of the food is like no other. Friendly service, family owned. I love that it's not another food truck, it's a place where you can sit, enjoy the food and the island vibes.

Absolutely incredible. We rolled up to this location right as the rain was dying down, there were puddles on the ground and a kid playing in the mud. It felt comfortable, everyone there seemed like friends and the neighboring restaurant welcomed everyone equally. I spoke a little Spanish with the woman behind the counter and I swear that must have unlocked the floodgates of familial care even further because our serving sizes were incredibly generous. Being able to eat outdoors or in only added to the home like ambiance and comfort. The octopus in the pulpo grill had zero flaws. Cooked to perfection with a lovely sauce, each bite perfectly measured with fat and flavor. Each bite of the ceviche returned energy to my soul and body, refreshing me to take on the rest of the day. So much citrus and spice, yet not an ounce of flavor lost in the mix. And of course yuca fries are amazing, if you've never had them you could do much worse than trying them here.

First time here after seeing all the wonderful reviews as soon as we found the place our family was greeted by the 2 owners they were so nice & friendly we placed our order at there beautiful food truck area then waited for the our food it was made so fresh. We got 2 plates & the lilikoi cheese cake dessert which was nothing short of delicious I Recommend this place!

Highly recommend this place! Food is great with many options to choose from. Every time you go back the only struggle you'll have is picking what you're going to eat for that day! Service is great and the music is bumping. This has become my girlfriend's and my favorite North Shore snack! Always looking forward to eating at Peruvian Corner!

The food stand is located behind the building. They do have a restroom in the building that you can use. The food is very good and definitely made fresh. The wait isn't too bad and there is seating outside. I really liked the flavourful food and definitely would like to go back next time I am in the area. The service was good, but they did not mention that tip is included in the card transaction. That was slightly annoying.

This Eat the Street was pork and their main pork dish was Asado...unfortunately they ran out around 7pm when I got there, so I didn't get any pork. Lame. Anyways, onto the food! I decided to go with their Chicken Saltana. I honestly didn't read the description, but I remember that I wanted something reasonably cheap and somewhat healthy. Can't really go wrong with chicken, peppers, onions, salad and rice. I pride myself on only rating places on their food, unless their service or something else is just absolutely horrendously terrible. But I would like to mention that the wait for my plate was about 35 minutes...standing...in a crowded parking lot...hungry...and tired. I expected more from a food truck, I mean come on now, this isn't a sit down restaurant, you gotta get the order and make it quick and good. At least the live music was good and the moon was quite nice. Opening my plate, I see a pretty nice plate of food. Reasonable amount of chicken and peppers and onions, generous servings of rice and salad, and a little container of what appeared to be dressing. It was all spiced with what I assumed to be Peruvian spices and also cilantro and a sweet oil based sauce used to cover the chicken and veggies and rice. The chicken looked a little plain, but the sweet sauce and veggies and cilantro really went well with the juicy chicken and the Peruvian rice (Twas a little crispy/hard, but very tasty) was pretty delicious. However, the salad was just....bleh...The veggies were fine, but the dressing was basically salt incarnate...and I'm 80% sure I detected a hint of fish, which was not good at all. For $8.90 though...not bad for everything. Overall, pretty okay meal. Without the salad, I'd give it 3.5 stars. Not bad, but nothing too spectacular. I must remember to try the other trucks at Eat the Street next time, I didn't check Yelp to see which trucks were good at the event...and I believe it cost me this time. Oh well...there is always next time.

Using Yelp's Mobile Food Trucks search will identify them but you need to use another app to actually find out where they are. I ran across them on a weekend in my neighborhood and stopped by. The food is a fusion of Peruvian and Laotian by husband-wife team, Juan Ching and Kim Thepsenavong. There is a long history of Japanese cuisine fusing with Peruvian - it's called Nikkei. But other Asian cuisines, especially Southeast Asian, also blend seamlessly with Peruvian staples. Think about the heavy use of pepper and spice in Laotian cuisine. You've been in restaurants where the heat scale is hot, Thai hot, and Laotian hot. Peppers were only introduced into Southeast Asia in the 16th century. Peru is one of the recognized birthplaces of peppers, with over 300 varieties and a 7,500 year history of cultivation. Peruvian Laotian fusion works when you do it right. I had a beef anticuchos skewers plate with Laotian accompaniments. The anticuchos had a nice smokey sweet dark color from aji panca paste. The rice was Laotian, with black and white grains of sticky rice. There was pickled Laotian som pak, a vinegar marinated mustard cabbage. A fine blended salsa-like jeow mak len, full of charred tomato smokiness, savory paedek fish sauce, garlic, shallot, bird's eye chiles, and lime, was terrific on top of the marinated beef. I hope I run into Khao and Papas again one day so I can try their grilled chicken. Until then, I have the memory of a fine take-out plate of Peruvian Laotian fusion comfort food.

When my turn came, I said it was my first time there and asked if I could just get a whole chicken. He said, yes, and that it was the most popular option. As soon as I saw him cutting the chicken and placing the two halves on a bed of rice, I knew he had misunderstood that I really wanted a whole chicken by itself and nothing else. Perhaps this wasn't an option, but I didn't want to make a big deal of it. In a way, it was good, being able to try what everyone else was having. I took the plate home and we began eating. My wife's initial impression was that the flavor was very good, not too salty, and that the rice was good as well. Then as we continued to eat, she noticed small spots of blood on parts of the chicken. She didn't finish her half, but she's generally a light eater. She said she preferred the whole huli huli chicken we got from near Dillingham instead. My impression was that the taste was fairly good. As for the rice, I like sticky rice better, but that's just my preference. Neither of us used the yellowish spicy mayo at all. I agree that the huli-huli chicken was better.
