I get indecisive & fearful of deals - When I bought from Peruzzi most of the time, they wouldn't let me get out w/out a car. I needed that assertiveness, HOWEVER, they will lie, & put big guilt trips on you. I.E: Just told me if I want remote start (again) it's up to $474.00 THEY"RE installer, & other, both gave me quotes around $335.00 (go to Millers). Also, when buying new car, salesman took $600.00 hold on it w/ credit card. Waited & waited - didn't get card BACK 'til I said, "I'll have to cancel it." Car I have (2013 Camary LE) rides beautifully & couldn't generally be better - just, now, too much mileage. Going there ? Just do your homework, & be tough !!! I will be honest, I am posting this review a year late but I just experienced a reasonable car buying experience and it wasn't at this dump. Long story short, I bought two cars from Peruzzi and I had pleasant experiences. Last year I looked at a rav 4. I don't remember my salesman's name but he looked like a young version of James Corden but was a Grade A jerk. Held my car keys hostage, tried to get info on the car cost, refused to give info or negotiate and when we walked he chastised us for "wasting his time". Basically he was a douche and I will rejoice when this corrupt dump goes out of business. Friends- go to Carsense next door. I have been searching for a Certified Pre-Owned Toyota Prius. There was one listed on the website, a 2011 with 38,000 miles. Sounded good to me. I made an appointment this morning to see them after work. I arrive at 5:40 and wait a few minutes by the front desk for someone to come help me. Someone eventually came out. I told them I had an appointment to see a specific vehicle. They went to find Michael, the salesperson. While I am waiting, another employee approaches me and introduces himself as the "finance guy", and asks about what car I was looking to buy. I tell him about the Prius and he tells me he knows exactly what car I'm there to see and how lucky I am because he had tried to sell it that afternoon. Eventually, Michael comes out. We chat briefly, and he takes down my information so that he can "enter it into the system." He leaves again and I wait about ten minutes. He returns to tell me how sorry he is but they had already sold the car I had found online. Was I willing to look at any others? I had already gone through this process at another dealership a few days ago, so I told him no. I came to see the vehicle I researched. I did not want to see any other (aka pricier) models. He says okay and tells me he'll be right back, that he'll let his manager know. His dishonesty was apparent, especially after talking to their "finance guy," so I didn't bother to stick around to see what other lies his manager was going to spin. read more

When I asked what the key features were of one model-- the guy said, verbatim, "Well it is automatic and has 4 seats". WOW, impressive! I would give 2.5 stars if I could. 3 seems generous, but 2 seems too harsh. I went to Peruzzi to look at a used Tacoma listed on their website. I ended up trading in my car for the Tacoma. I got an "okay" deal, but not a "great" one. Positives: - The "internet price" for the Tacoma was very fair, based on research I had done. When I first saw the truck on their site, they were asking for about $1,000 more than they were by the time I went to look at the truck. If you see a car you like on their site, but you think the price is high, I'd suggest taking your chances and waiting until they get anxious to sell, and the price will start to drop. - My salesperson, Todd Glassmeyer, was friendly, not pushy, and honest and upfront throughout the process. If it weren't for Todd, I'm not sure I would have given Peruzzi my business. - The younger guy who "closed the deal", after everything else was agreed on, was nice and also upfront and honest with me. I wish I remembered his name. Negatives: - The truck was advertised as having new tires. The tires on the truck were not new, as the back is more worn than the front. I'd say they have about 1/2 of the tread remaining. The "new tires" was an outright lie, and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. - I appraised my trade in using Autotrader's "trade-in marketplace". The way it works is you enter all the details about your vehicle into Autotrader.com and they give you an "instant trade-in offer" and submit that offer to the dealer. I was 100% honest about the vehicle's condition in the autotrader appraisal, and my offer was $13,400. The offer does say that it is pending dealer inspection. At this point I started receiving tons of form emails from "Jessica" at the dealer, who I think is actually a computer. The emails go on and on about how they want to offer you more for your trade than the autotrader appraisal (LOL!) and that your car is in high demand and "would you please come see us, we will buy the car even if you don't trade it!". It's a huge racket and once I got to the dealership they were suddenly much less interested in the trade. It's all a game, I get it, but long story short the $13,400 offer went down to $12,000. I almost walked out the door but I ended up getting them up to $12,750. But I had to run a very hard line to get their offer up even that high. My car did need some body work and had been in a very minor parking lot fender bender, so I accepted the $12,750. My advice is to ignore all the emails about how much money they want to give you for your trade. The sole purpose of those emails is to get you to the dealer so that they can lowball you. Be prepared to negotiate hard to get their offer even close to reasonable. - The finance manager was pretty condescending. I have very good credit and wanted a rate in the 3's. Shouldn't be too much to ask. So I asked for 2.5, knowing that they would want me to come up. The manager basically told me I was crazy and that I should be thrilled to be offered a rate in the 4's because 5 years ago anyone would be thrilled to get rates in the 5's. I explained to him that the economy is bad now and I have excellent credit, so I deserve a rate in the 3's. I think he realized that I'm not going to be taken advantage of, and he passed me off to a much nicer younger guy after that. - After verbally agreeing on the sale price, trade in price, and financing rate, they wanted me to start signing tons of paperwork to turn over the trade. This was before any of the 3 key figures (trade-in offer, sale price, financing rate) were in writing. I was very put off by this, especially after my interaction with the finance manager. I knew Todd, the salesman, would not try to change the sale price or trade-in offer on me. But I did not trust the finance guy at all. I feared that I would sign over my trade and then suddenly there would be $1,000 in fees or something. So I asked for the financing terms in writing before signing any more documents. The finance guy reappeared and we agreed to the terms on a handshake. Maybe I should have stood my ground about the written terms, but after looking him in the eyes and shaking his hand I felt fairly comfortable moving forward. Still, there was something sketchy about being asked to sign all that paperwork before having a written purchase order. The rest of the process went smoothly. As I mentioned earlier, a third person, a younger guy, did all the paperwork with me to close the deal and he also was the person who sells extended warranties, protection plans, etc. He explained the plans well and after some back and forth he offered me a good warranty for a very reasonable price. I almost bought it, but I decided against it because Toyotas have such a good reputation for reliability, and most of the things covered in the warranty are things that I don't think will break on a Tacoma until the 175,000+ mile mark. I hope I'm right, because the warranty didn't sound like a bad deal. read more

I had a buddy drive me 2 hrs for a test drive there on a used car there, and was told by phone that that would work fine and I had an appointment scheduled a day ahead of time. When I got there they claimed that I could not actually test drive it until we had agreed upon a purchase price. This, they claim was for COVID-19 reasons but no other place I used for test-drives did this; in fact, every other place I went all claimed that policy was crooked and geared more toward forcing uninformed sales. We had been in the car in the lot to look at it already, but were not allowed to drive it even a mile. SHADY! When I pointed out multiple scratches and paint damage as well as a missing spare tire and jack (none of which was mentioned online) none of that warranted ANY consideration for any wiggle room on the price. They insisted I commit to paying full price before I could even drive - no thanks. We walked and bought another car elsewhere within 2 hrs. Reminds me of that scene Pretty Woman - BIG MISTAKE! I bought my 2015 Corolla LE ECO brand new off the showroom floor. A month or so ago, I began experiencing serious RPM fluctuation under light acceleration during warmup and hold the throttle steady. Fluctuation at times was as much as 1K RPM. I started digging into it and found Toyota had a campaign (JSD) to address the issue, but never received any notification in the mail. After reading through the campaign document, I became very concerned so I scheduled a dealer appointment to do the reflash under the now-superseded campaign. What came next was totally unexpected. I received a call from the dealer that they could not reflash the PCM for the issue because "the transmission has internal damage that will need to be repaired first". WHAT??? They refused to share diagnostic information and simply said that they've been in contact with Toyota headquarters service about it, but would take it no further. I escalated the matter to the Toyota hotline and heard back 2 days later that they will DO NOTHING TO ASSIST ME. The dealer gave me all this rot about not bringing the car back to them for service...can't verify that it was done... I reminded them of the legalities of such statements under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. So I get the car back from the dealer and now under the same driving conditions, it will suddenly rev to almost the redline (5,500 RPM) at 60 MPH. Have to neutral it to allow it to fall back to idle. The dealer would like to install a new transmission (about $7,000) before they will correct the software. Bottom line, I'm having a big problem with their product and they will do nothing to advocate for me. I am stranded with no car and feeling like I'm being held hostage. As a 35 year veteran in the automotive industry, there are a lot of people that come to me for advice, both technical and vehicle selection guidance. Never again and never another Toyota. read more

Great experience here. I had purchased a Toyota Extended Care Maintenance plan from California. When I moved to PA and took my car here for routine care there was a mix up done by prior dealership and they helped me take care of it! Service was exceptional. Justine was fantastic and really did follow up with me to make things go smoothly. I also had a nail in my tire and it was fixed up for $26 which was fair. The waiting area is large and nicely lit with fireplace. Overall for an oil change and tire rotation my wait was about 1hr. They also have a shuttle if you don't want to wait. Also they are running a promo with free car wash with every service. Overall fantastic experience and will definately return here. read more

Had a bad experience 2 years ago at Peruzzi when my wife was looking for a car but figured I would give them another chance. On Dec 27, 2019 about a half dozen salespeople were hanging out right inside the front door. Nick approached us first and we told him we wanted to test drive a 2018 RAV4. We went to his cubicle and he typed in a bunch of information on the computer. Then he went to go look for a specific RAV4, came back after about 15 minutes later and said it was sold. Then he went to go look for a second RAV4 and seemed to be gone for about a half hour or so while we sat and waited. He then came back again, and said he couldn't find that RAV4. Eventually he said they had no 2018 RAV4s. So, bottom line is they wasted over an hour of our time when they had zero cars in stock. Although Nick seemed like a nice person, their sales practices are terrible and we will not be returning. read more

Peruzzi has hands down the worst service department I have every encountered. Bad experiences include (but are not limited to): making me late by not having my car ready by the time it should have been completed, then running the car though the car wash; leaving the caps off the tires after an inspection; not reattaching the muffler they had just worked on so that it'd cause damage to the exhaust system; replacing brakes when they didn't need to be replaced; after replacing the brakes not test driving it to see that they made a lot of noise; not replacing worn hoses for the oiler cooler when needed. The final straw was after I specifically asked them to replace wheel bearings. They instead claimed that my transmission needed to be replaced ($6000 - 2010 Highlander, 120k miles). Please do not patronize this business. Took my vehicle here for warranty work on the engine. They were going to have to replace the pistons...which means they had to take the engine completely apart. When taking the car home, it was shaking and vibrating badly. Once after driving 6 miles away, turning the car...it would not turn back on. The alternator was no longer working. Contacted Peruzzi immediately told them the car we just drove off with, is now dead. They arranged a tow back to them. the next day, they were able to determine themselves that the alternator was no longer working and that I would have pay for it... Con artists at their best. They first insinuated that I brought the car there with a bad alternator. Which is complete BS and impossible. Then after months of attempting to work with their customer service, they changed their story to it just failed...and it's not their fault. Despite the fact that their tech removed it from the car, touched it last...they say it's not their fault and they refuse to reimburse me for it. Brought the car there in perfect working condition...left with a major engine component not working. The customer service mgr was yelling at me one the phone and threatening to hang up on me. In an attempt to get money back for the free warranty work they had to perform, they forced me to pay for a part they broke while working on my car!! I've never had a dealership damage my car and completely outright refuse to accept responsibility!! This place is the pits. Expect to be swindled here. Buyer beware!! read more

I have owned a Highlander for two years. Whenever I try to reach someone in the service department, I only get voice mail. After leaving numerous messages that go unanswered, I called and explained to the receptionist no one ever calls me back. She said she would transfer me to the service manager's office. I spoke with a woman who said the manager Nick would call me as soon as he was finished with his current client. He never did. I filed a complaint with the Regional office and will never go there again, after buying two new cars there. read more

I purchased a new vehicle Saturday, December 21, 2019. I like it. However, there was a problem with the way the purchasing agreement was handled. I told the sales person I would like to pay full for the car but needed to wait until January 2020 to use money from my retirement funds because I wanted to wait it to be on the 2020 tax year. He said no problem but then he was like you can use our financing, I got a high rate of interest because there is a mistake on my credit report which I knew about and was working on correcting. The credit report listed me as dead. I am not. Things were bundled up very quickly while purchasing the vehicle. I ended up paying $15,000 dollars extra for the vehicle, where I was charged $5000.00 to use their credit and then another $10,000.00 will be attached to financing my vehicle instead of waiting for my money to come through. I should be able to purchase a vehicle without so many strings attached to the financial end of it and for the company to allow me to use my own money or just tell me to wait until January, not push the sale through to make money off an almost 73 year old woman who just retired. I just tried to call them but the sales person did not pick up. I realize they are making money but doing it in an underhanded way. I am so upset that I will make sure I send no one to them. And so I think women should not purchase a vehicle alone at Perruzi. This was the second vehicle I purchased and the first one was much easier and more forthright in explaining the information. They sold me a used car for almost 7,000 in the spring. A few months later (less than four months) when I went to enquire about leasing a new car and trading in the one they sold to me, they valued the car they sold me for 2,000! The General Manager never replied to my email that thoughtfully listed my concerns and asked how we could resolve the issues. They also did every sneaky sales trick you're warned about. Leaving you in cubicle. Keeping your keys, making you wait for them, then giving you a YOU'LL STILL SAVE MONEY lower price (but not near the one they said they could get you during the first HOUR). Luckily they have a Peruzzi plate on my car and I'm decorating it with lemons! In my line of work I talk to many people a day and have been telling everyone to stay away from Peruzzi. They brag about their "community service." Most companies that are busy trying to look compassionate do so because they don't want people to realize they are no better than politicians. read more

I recently purchased a one-owner used Prius from Lee Brannon at Peruzzi. Lee was respectful and accommodating in our negotiations and throughout the process. He even went the extra mile to meet in a convenient location for me two days later to hand off my trade-in's title so I wouldn't have to drive 20 miles out of my way! The initial online and asking price was different. But there was no problem to adjust that, and when the deal was sealed, I left knowing I got the price and the car I am happy with. Small potatoes incident: Several other sales consultants had a "within earshot" guffaw over the age of my trade-in (I chalk it up to shop talk), which made me uncomfortable initially, but Lee handled this professionally, and never waivered from his position of respect. He recognized my seriousness and sincerity in acquiring a car that would be the right "fit" for my needs. Advice on used car purchase from dealer: 1. Research car value and history (Car Fax) prior to visiting dealership (internet representative sent Car Fax via email). 2. Determine what you want to pay monthly and present that to the dealer upfront. 3. If you can't afford down money, tell them up front. 4. Negotiate from a place of knowing what you want and can afford. 5. Be willing to give a little. 6. Request a different representative if you feel anything but RESPECT. 7. Be willing to say NO if it doesn't work for you. 8. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff, so "give a pass" on the little things. read more

Do not buy a vehicle from these people! My fiance and I bought two trucks from them and were promised that they were in mint condition. My truck has been in the shop multiple times for regular maintenance like tire rotations, a wheel bearing problem (that they lacked to inform me of after all the tire maintenance), an alignment, and much more in a span of 8 months. I got my wheel bearing fixed in March then in May I took my truck for all new tires to tires etc and they said that the exact same wheel, that I just had my wheel bearing replaced on, has a half inch size groove on the inside of my tire due to a broken part that was pushing on the upper control arm. This caused the strut to actually pierce my tire. Tires etc told me that 3 of their technicians looked at it and said that it takes about 10-15,000 miles to make a groove THAT big.... I had only put 9,000 on the truck so far. When my fiance and I brought the truck into peruzzi they denied denied denied that it was what tires etc said it was. Then my fiance flipped out and pointed it out to them... at that point they switched their story around. Then they tried to deny that their technicians would lack to inform me of it, even though their technicians didnt inform me that my brake pads, rotors and tires need replacing. They also lacked to tell me about the wheel bearing problem too. The whole time Larry Peruzzi wouldnt look us in the eye. He did not show a care in the world that he sold me a shit truck. If my tire would have popped while I was doing only 45 I could have lost control and flipped my truck. He showed no sympathy that a pregnant woman life was in danger because of his careless technicians. Finally after a screaming match with these people, which I recorded, they finally fixed my truck. They promised that they'd rotate the tire to the back of the truck, incase I do have a blow out it wont cause me to loose control, and they never did. I also got my truck back with a cracked side view mirror. We already contacted Harry Hairiston from NBC 10. They will also be hearing from our lawyer. These people are horrible to work with, they don't stick to their word, their customer service sucks, and their vehicles are crap. read more

The sales man was hesitant to show me the truck without appointment , finally walked outside to see , he had no clue what he was showing me or what package the vehicle had .He would not show me the interior or test drive until I was fully committed to buy, then he walked away to the showroom telling me to come inside if I was interested . Michael Lindley was the saleman who worked with me on the purchase of my used vehicle. He was excellent with me through the entire process, I can't say enough positives about the job he did. The only complaint I would have is that the front fog light had water in it, I asked for it to be drained and if they couldn't fix it, I'd be willing to pay for a new part/gasket so that it was good to go. I got the vehicle back and the fog light is still an issue...it's a little thing but would have appreciated a little better communication/service from the parts/service department in regards to the fog light issue. Brought in my Camry as I had a coupon for a free inspection. The only reason I did so is the car is only a few years old, and well maintained. I presented my coupon and sat to wait for the service to be done. I was summoned to speak to the service manager, who tells me it will be $1200 to pass inspection. When I asked him what was needed he was vague, and needed to be pressed for specifics. He then came up with a list of things to be addressed, but not how much each item was. When I said no thank you, he said I couldn't drive the car away as the stickers had been scraped off, and the car was on the lift. According to him I needed to have the work done right now!!. A bit of a testy conversation ensued. The car was then taken off the lift, and I drove to my corner garage, who passed the car with just a charge for inspection. No repairs needed. And the kicker, they refused to honor their own coupon for a free inspection. The reason, the charge was "already in the system". All in all, short money to learn a valuable lesson. read more

My 2006 Toyota Prius lost breaking abs. I took it to Peruzzi Toyota. The diagnosed it and quoted me $3,500 for the abs pump main fuse and speed sensor. I had a non Toyota mechanic replace the abs pump and main fuse. Then I took it back to Peruzzi for the $529 speed sensor. The ABS and break light did not go out. I argued with Ben, Toyota mechanic, twice, but he insisted the non Toyota mechanic put in the wrong pump and it was leaking. I disagreed, so I took it to Thompson Toyota. For $133 they diagnosed it as the main fuse and wanted $500 for a new main fuse installed. I explained that Peruzzi would do that for $340, plus what if it blew again? Jaison at Thompson, would not budge on the cost which I thought was outrageous! I took my car back to the non Toyota mechanic. He replaced the main fuse as a warranty, for free. He also confirmed that the pump is the correct part number, although it was used. The light went out! read more

Took my camry there to request for them to diagnose why the radio wasn't working. They tried to 'hard set' it which didn't work. The woman who called me after they checked it out told me I needed a new radio. The cost for a factory radio was way out of line (over $3000.09) and she provided me with a name of a local place that does after market work . Cost for them was more than five times LESS than Toyota . When the local guy came to install the new radio they realized that there was nothing wrong with the old radio - the amp needed to be replaced. So much for the "Toyota certified technician". Only paid $30 for the diagnosis plus time and effort to get it there . Frustrated to say the least!! read more

Yet another profession poke you in the eyes and try to steal your hard earned money! The people who works for this place are a pack dishonest ones. I tried to purchase a van from the under two years ago. I stood in line for almost 20min the white couple behind me got service and stood there like a second class citizen. The sale person couldn't give a proper answer on any of my questions. It seem he was more interested in me that the care I want to buy. Fast forward recently I gave them a second chance steering clear of that crazy man I had dealth with in the past. They had a Toyota Scion I had liked,when I met the front desk guy a minute after another one walk by and try to sell a story about someone was interested in the said car. He was a horrible actor couldn't do it to save his life. I just laughed and ask to test drive the car .while they ran around ,I waited 30min ,finally saw the car. Purchasing my car with them was fantastic! Super great and helpful. I was a first time car buyer and a female and I felt heard and listened to. My issue is with the service department. I have gone 2 times for oil changes since it is free for a year. Figured why not. I have not received good services from them. Every time I go I feel dismissed and feel pressured to just go in and leave. I feel rushed every time I am leaving. They never go over the services that were done on my car/ any concerns that might have occurred. My most recent oil change took an hour to complete. No explanation just sign these papers. After that my car started acting funny so I took it in the next day. They seemed bothered by my concerns and very defensive about the work they completed. Just called about a warranty question and the guy I spoke to talked over me the whole time and seemed annoyed that I called. Just overall very frustrating experiences. I took my car to my mechanic after the poor service the other day and they discovered a small leak with my transmission. Just frustrated that it was not found when I took my car in a second time with this service department for the same concerns. It's just a business for them. read more

The whole transmission now has to be replaced. Bought this "very new" used car for 14,000 and now I'm paying double to fix it up again.

My girlfriend bought a used 2003 buick rendezvous at Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield. She was so excited about her purchase considering she was coming out of a 1992 honda accord. We bought the car they would not budg on the price when we tried. They told us this car is worth the money because they do a so many point safety inspection and the car is car faxed the whole deal. We got the car home the next day it rained, we turned on the windshield wipers. This car had the type of wipers that swing towards them self in the center. The one wiper would catch the other wiper and snap off the wiper blade completly causing the wipers not to work at all. I don't know how this is safe or how it got by their bull of a safety inspection...... The day after this happend we noticed the door panel rubbing on the fender pannel causing the door to dent and chip paint. We called them and they said this was from the factory which i DO not belive. They fixed the rubbing and the wipers with no charge but they didn't fix the big dent this issue has caused. Zero Stars, actually negative stars. They just wasted my ENTIRE afternoon and played a complete shell game between the Salesman Chris and the Finance "Manager" Adam. We actually went in to sign the papers, but after rejecting the warranty, all things went south. They had to make up their profit margin someway, so they said 72 month financing (NEVER said we wanted 72 months) and they said we had a 5.4% interest rate when our bank is offering 2.9! Unethical dealer, DO NOT deal with them. They are not the only gig in town. What a complete joke of a dealership. read more

I purchased a Toyota RAV4 a few months ago and was pretty happy about the way the sale went and the deal I got. Yesterday the car would not start. I wound up having to have it towed to peruzzi. I was told the battery went bad and that it would be 160.00. I was confused as to why I would have to pay for a battery that shouldn't be dead after a short time. I emailed Dana who had sold me the car and told her I didn't think I should be having issues already with the car and that I'd gotten a new car to avoid issues like this like I had with my last car. She told me she would speak to the manager and get back to me. She never got back to me. I went to Peruzzi after work to pick up the car and find out what was going on. When I complained about the charge I was talked to like I was ridiculous and like it was an annoyance. They told me that this new battery would be covered if anything happens to it but yet the one before wasn't??? They gave me a few dollars off and acted like it was so hard to get that done and basically told me that was the best they were going to do. I've never felt so insulted and dismissed as a customer in my life. I will never refer anyone and I certainly won't be buying another car from there. They sell you a car and then it's your problem if there are issues. They don't care. I'm very disappointed. Not to mention the cargo shade was never put back in my car when it was detailed and not replaced. Not happy. Update: I received a call from Frank who is their sales manager. He apologized profusely for the way I was treated. He said that's not how they do business at Peruzzi and was upset to hear how upset and disappointed I was. He is refunding me what I had been charged and also credited me a credit in their service department. My experience in the service department was terrible but in the end it was made right. I am happy and frank has restored my faith in their company. read more
