However, my most recent experience has me questioning the company's integrity. The dog I have now was boarded at Bark Ave from 09/24/24 - 09/30/24. When I dropped her off on Wednesday of last week she was in good health and I requested that she have a bath before I pick her up on 09/30. When I picked her up on Monday, the assistant manager brought her out, I paid them & left. My dog was very quiet, mind you after not seeing me in 5 days. When we got home she started rubbing her had on the floor and shaking her head. I took a look at her and noticed her left eye was swollen shut, so I had to open her eye to see what was going on. Her eye was so red it looked like it was bleeding and burned or something. I called Bark Ave and spoke with the assistant manager. I sent her a picture. She agreed that it was swollen. I asked what happened, she stated she was aware of any incidents that could have caused this. I immediately took my dog to the vet. The doctor examined my dog's eye and diagnosed her with a superficial Corneal Abrasion. He also stated that the abrasion could have been caused by the shampoo that was used for her bath. I informed Bark ave of the diagnosis and they immediately began to deny that this incident was not caused by their staff. I absolutely disagreed and requested to speak with the owner or manager. The owner immediately sent me an email denying any involvement with causing this injury. I sent the owner a copy of the doctor's note, her response was since the doctor mentioned that "the shampoo could have been the cause, but could not confirm" she is not responsible. What business person who really cares about the people/pets that they service, would deny the possibility of a simple human error? We all know that shampoo could have easily dripped into a dog's eye while the dog is moving around when being bathed. I used to speak very highly of Bark Avenue Pet Resort and I've also referred a couple of people... Not anymore. I have attached a picture of my dog when we got home from the vet's office.

He's…read moreon FB asking his friends to give positive reviews to counteract the "fake" reviews (https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1L1mjFs2g5/ ) We had our reservations when we toured the facility. The dogs DO NOT GO OUTSIDE. They play and POTTY inside all day. We were concerned, but were reassured they pick up immediately and are always cleaning. We should have listen to our guts. We boarded our dogs for 1 week while away. They were both healthy. When we picked them up, one dog's eyes were runny. By that evening, they were so puffy he could barely see. Took him to the vet and got some eye cream for an infection, as well as irritated skin around his paws. After a couple of days, he began to have this deep hacking cough. Back to the vet! As it turns out he also caught a respiratory infection while there. And yes, the other dog began to show symptoms not too long after for the eye infection and the respiratory infection. Luckily we caught his quickly and he is not suffering as much as the other dog. It's been over a month (and approx. $2000 in vet bills) and we are still dealing with it. Another thing that has happened is the pooping inside did not immediately go away and we had issues with that as well as poop eating (coprophagia), something they have NEVER EVER done. That has been extremely hard to break. I would STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST sending your pet to this facility. UPDATE: the owner is not telling the truth. Our puppies were there the week of March 7 through the 14th. How dare you come on here and try to say that we were never there. Shame on you! He's in the video you posted while he was there! I also included the video with my other dog as well.

I had a very concerning experience with this dog daycare facility and would strongly urge other dog…read moreowners to think carefully before bringing their pets here. On a recent date, my dog was attacked by another dog while in their care. I was contacted by staff immediately and had to seek veterinary treatment, as well as file a police report due to the severity of the incident. What's especially alarming is that I was told by an employee that this same dog had previously attacked someone and was classified as "vicious." Despite that, the dog was still allowed to participate in daycare. That raises serious concerns about their safety standards and decision-making. Animal Control opened an investigation and attempted to obtain video footage, but the owner--who is the only one with access to the surveillance system--has reportedly not cooperated. I also obtained records confirming the prior incident, which makes it clear this situation could have been prevented. On top of that, getting reimbursed for my dog's vet bill has been unnecessarily difficult. Instead of taking responsibility, the owner sent what appeared to be a non-disclosure agreement and has avoided accountability. Beyond the incident itself, the facility setup is also disappointing. There is no outdoor play area, no indoor grass or turf, and dogs are essentially left to relieve themselves on the floor. If your dog is house-trained, that training will likely be undone in this environment. Overall, this experience has been stressful and frustrating. Between the lack of transparency, questionable safety practices, and poor facility conditions, I cannot recommend this location to anyone who values their dog's well-being. Note: In response to the owner's reply below, I made multiple attempts to contact the owner by phone and in writing but did not receive a response until I sent a certified letter. In his reply, I felt my concerns were not addressed, and responsibility for the incident was not acknowledged. Additionally, I was unable to continue communication through the business's social media page after being blocked, which limited my ability to follow up regarding reimbursement for veterinary expenses related to the incident. Due to the lack of resolution, I am currently pursuing legal options. For those interested in reviewing public information, incident reports can be requested through Cobb County via an Open Records Request. These records are publicly available. I was able to obtain documentation of another incident at the same facility that occurred a few weeks prior to mine.

Recently our pet sitter through Critter Sitters retired and we met with our new sitter one time. Everything seemed fine and we were scheduled to go out of town and had confirmed with the new sitter employed by Critter Sitters that everything was in order. Yesterday I asked for clarification about the billing since it seemed substantially higher with the new sitter over what we had paid previously - in response, I have been told that the sitter's schedule has changed and that I should seek care for my animals elsewhere. With little more than a week's notice, this was very unprofessional and disappointing to say the least. I've tried to communicate my experience to the owner of the company but the line has been busy for some time; will update this review if new information becomes available but sadly, I can no longer recommend this business and would seek care for pets elsewhere. Update: the owner responded and while appreciated, I find the way this situation was handled by Critter Sitters very unprofessional. I can include the text conversation for reference as I did not negotiate: I asked a question about a price difference between two different sitters employed by the same company, a difference of over 300 dollars. The only "policy" I see enforced or followed here is poor customer service.
