Their crickets are AMAZING. Literally they are the most resilient crickets I've ever purchased. I was stuck buying Bug Boxes from petsmart every week because half of them would die before my anole could even get the chance to eat them. I bought a container of 50 (there WAY more than 50) two weeks ago and I am STILL working on them! There isn't a single dead cricket in the container in two weeks! Idk where they source these things from but you owe it to yourself if you have a lizard to pick up a container at Katie's. read more

Always a friendly staff and they actually make it seem like they love their jobs. They have a vast majority of supplies and are always helpful They have several birds owned by the store that they allow the public to be hands on with, which is always the highlight of our trip (see Barney the Cockatiel and their parrot.) I haven't tried their grooming service yet, but plan on it. I wish they had a bigger fish selection, but other than that, after visiting them for the first time a few months ago for our weekly feed for my daughter's reptile, I love their warm environment and so done with chain places like Petco/Petsmart. read more

The Veterinarian service here is terrible staff isn't very friendly either. Took my dog there spayed, simple procedure right. Ever since the procedure my dog has been peeing blood. Re-evaluation by the Dr. Urinary tract infection, tried antibiotics still blood, and my dog can't empty her bladder completely. Now Dr wants to run other tests because there not sure what the problem is. I am so glad I came across Katie's Pet Depot. I found out about the veterinary services online and decided to try them out, but have since come back for their grooming services and for general shopping needs for my dog. Katie's is great not only because it's a one-stop shop, but because their staff is ever-attentive and so incredibly kind. Every member of the vet clinic is knowledgeable and glad to answer all of my questions (they even called back after my appointment to follow up), the groomers are gentle with the animals, and the rest of the general staff seem to love helping their customers help their animals. DON'T GET YOUR DOG GROOMED HERE! The website shows $40 for a "bath only" for Labs. Then they charge you more for a "large" lab. My dog is 70 pounds, which is an average size for a lab. When I brought in a $10 off coupon, they tried to charge me an extra $10 because my dog was a senior that had difficulty standing for long periods of time. NEVER ONCE WAS THIS EXTRA FEE MENTIONED TO ME. The manager offered me $10 in merchandise credit, but I just wanted my $10 back. She told me it wasn't possible to refund me, but then later offered to refund me $5. For just five more dollars, they might have been able to keep a customer. BEWARE of "miscommunication"! read more

ONLY getting 1-Star because you can't give ZERO STARS. First I will say this, I have been shopping Katie's since they opened and always felt confident and recommended then to the community. Now to the news about the REAL KATIE'S and how they operate. My daughter purchased a Guinea pig from Katie's for my autistic grandson for his birthday. When she purchased the Guinea a week ago she asked all the right questions. Has the vet done a thorough health check? The associate answered. Yes the guinea pig is very healthy and roughly 6 months old, we get them all the time from the breeder and they are healthy. Two days after the guinea pig is home, they are holding it and they feel something strange in the abdomen. She said it felt like something was moving. She called the store and asked it the guinea pig was pregnant because she can feel something moving in the stomach. The associate was no help and said a manager would call her the next day. The manager never called so she called the manager and the manager said to bring the guinea pig in for an ultrasound to determine pregnancy. Come to find out the guinea pig is pregnant with two babies. Furthermore, the manager says completely contrary to what the associate said at the time of purchase. The manager said the guinea pig and all of the animals are just surrenders. They do not come from a breeder. And, my daughter asked what type of health-check was done that you missed the pregnancy yet a lay individual like herself knew it. The manager's reply was well we just look them over. Not to mention the Guinea Pig has an eye infection for which the store will do nothing about. Katie's is the worst with ZERO customer service and ZERO knowledge on animal sales. You would be foolish to purchase anything from this store. STAY AWAY. For the manager to say too bad is horrible considering this all happen within a week of purchase not to mention the customer being lied to about health checks, and Breeders. read more

And now that they are staff owned, it's become more of a community store and I love it even more . I ​foster collies, and I just had one of my fosters with skin problems groomed. The nice thing about pet Depot's groomers are that they go above and beyond to groom these dogs. This particular dog needed to be bathed with a RX medicated shampoo that required 10 minutes on the dog before rinsing. Before they shampooed the dog with the medicated shampoo, they wash the dog with a hypoallergenic shampoo to clean him up and so when they did use the medicated shampoo, it was able to go directly on clean skin. I have highly recommended them to my vet for other clients who may need their dogs groomed . Highly recommend pet depot, the prices are competitive , their knowledge is superior to commercial pet stores , and they really do care about your pets. read more

I've been in this store and their previous location a handful of times. They are a bit pricey but I stopped in because my daughter wanted to see the pets and we needed some bedding for our pet. I found the item I needed and saw it was right above a 13.99 label. I went to pay and my total was $24 and change. At this moment I thought I had read incorrectly. I went back to the shelves and saw another brand of bedding also right above a $13.99 price tag, went back to the register and the item was also not coming up correctly. For the third time I walked back with the sales associate and showed her the two labels with several of the same items stacked above the lower price point labels. At this point I explained to the associate that I felt like I should get the price marked on the shelf because there were not one but two different brands marked $13.99. The associate then speeds off to get approval from her manager and returns to say that she would honor the lower price this time. As I'm approaching the register asst. mgr Charlie looks at the package and changes her mind to honor the $13.99 price and instead would offer a one time 15% discount because the label doesn't match the item. She proceeds to explain that children come in and move their labels all the time. When I was there I didn't see many children running around changing labels. My daughter was with me and I assure you she didn't move any of the labels on the shelves. She also explained that they move stock around all the time. At any rate neither of these excuses make for a smooth customer experience if your prices do not match what is labeled on the shelves. This also lets me know that I can't trust this business. As I listened to Charlie's excuses she became less friendly and her tone and quick escape from the register area made it clear she was less than happy as I explained I'd be contacting their corporate office. I understand that as a smaller chain your bottom line is important however, if you intend to keep customers returning there should be clearly labeled price points and friendly customer service, even when issues like this do arise. read more
