It's super convenient since they provide the shampoo, towels, plastic collars, and treats! Parking is very easy at this location as they have their own lot. I was in need of a litter restock. I put in an online order and within 20 minutes, I already had an email confirmation that my order was ready for pickup. I stopped by later that afternoon and as soon as I walked in, the girl at the front greeted me warmly and asked how she could help. I told her I had an order for pickup, which was waiting for me already behind the register. As I had two bags of litter, my plan was to carry one to the car and then come back for the other but the girl offered to help me carry it out to the car right away. Really helpful team here! My senior cat needed some TLC after an overgrown claw issue left him with some wounds in his paws...and of course I was stressed out about it all. Anxious cat mom that I am. I called ahead looking for paper litter and they listened kindly to my explanation of what happened... (with the patient hollering from his crate the whole time and making his displeasure well known)... and walked me through exactly what they had. I went in later, after dropping Mr. Complain-y Cat at home to start recovering, and they were great in helping me gather up everything I needed. Called 20 minutes before closing time and I asked if they had a certain product in store. The person who answered the phone was super nice & happy to check for me. They did have what I was looking for. When I walked through the front door I was greeted kindly and asked right away if I needed help finding anything and guided me to the area where I was shown my item. Unbelievable. So I buy a dog collar two days ago that I had to return. They only would give me store credit without receipt even though I used my cc ( other stores give full refund on cc). To be honest, I like Petfood Express as far as company pet stores like Petsmart or Petco. More than anything I actually like local mom and pop's store than the mass produced chains store. But in Belmont. The one that is a pop's store closed about three years ago. I only have these options and my go to place is Pet food Express. I like this one and the Burlingame one in particular. Not loving the Millbrae one at all but that's another review for them. This one is closer to home and I have always been treated nicely here. I spend over roughly $200 to $250 each time I come in here which is once every week. As a dog trainer and boarder. We provide the best food and training treats for our clients. I have never have any problem in this location and I been here for years. The manager here have suggested many kind of food for my elderly dog too but at the end what work for her is Farmer dogs. However her help didn't go unnoticed. It helped my other clients on what to feed their elderly dogs. So now they come here. They always have things you need in stock. So I have no complaints and it's nice to have parking space available here. Prices are normal and some are reasonable and some are expensive. Certain treats I will get from some other place but I love their B4G1 free deal. That's worth coming in but these deals are not offered for delivery. Just FYI read more

I had the most amazing experience the other night at this location. Somebody had abandoned a dog where I work and I brought him to the dog wash and the staff helped me get the pup cleaned up and were so helpful with all of my questions. They made sure I was grabbing the best products to help me get situated and gave me tips on making introductions to my dog at home. It was close to closing time and the employees named Michael, Alyssa and Angelique all were so nice and made my experience all so smooth and helped me... Very knowledgeable about all their products, including general care for your pet, they're not pushy, and genuinely care for our furry friends. The place is always organized and clean. I'm surprised this location has such great reviews as I have experienced terrible customer service every time I have entered. Despite there being 4 staff members there today, I was never greeted. It has been the same on previous occasions. I am never asked if I need assistance. The last two times, the same young male cashier has helped me. I have a bag in my basket and he basically ignores the bag, leaves all my items on the counter/in basket and checks me out without a word other than to tell me my total. I am sorry. I find this incredibly rude. Today I asked if they don't bag anymore as I am juggling my dog, the payment terminal and trying to bag my items all at the same time. All he said is only if he is asked. This Pet Food Express has a parking lot (yay) and it's also attached to the Walgreens plaza next door in case you need to park there or run other errands. I actually came to this Pet Food Express because they were the only ones who had this one particular kind of cat food in stock (I think there is currently a shortage with that particular cat food so I was really grateful to find anything in store). This store is in the spot that used to be Blockbuster Video and is a nice edition to Belmont. I have two little fur babies so I'm always looking out for new store's to spoil them with treats and this one is a decent size and what I love about this place is they have the largest selection of healthy foods for your little furry friends. For the opening of this store I was mailed a special discount card which included free Cat Treats, 20% discount on my entire purchase and a free self service pet wash. The pet wash is great for dogs but I seriously couldn't imagine taking my 2 Cat's along. One is Bengal and loves water but the other will scratch me and everybody else in the local vicinity to pieces before getting anywhere near it. Plenty of parking nearby and close to all of the other local stores so you can get multiple chores done at once. read more

I went to the Belmont Pet Food Express looking for a particular brand of frozen food for our finicky cat. The website said there was 1 container available but it was gone by the time I got there. An extremely helpful and delightful employee named Mariah offered to call other stores in the Bay Area to locate the food. Unfortunately there is none available in the Bay Area. Instead she offered a few alternatives from the same brand that she said we might want to try with our cat, and almost unbelievably, she didn't even charge me for them. My pack and I have been coming to PFE Belmont for years. Whether it's buying top quality food or giving them baths, we have always been treated like family there. My pack are always greeted with smiles and offers of treats. The staff genuinely want to know their names and some have come to recognize them by name now. When a member of my pack needed some new food to address his pancreatitis and other members needed a change of food to address some allergy issues, the staff at PFE recommended a new brand of high quality food.
