My new favorite pet store! The customer service here is top notch, I went in at 4:50 not knowing they close at 5 and they still spent the time to have a conversation with me despite closing so soon. I have a super picky dog, she literally does not eat ANY treats except for dehydrated or freeze dried meat snacks. The owners took the time to take out at least 5 different types of snacks to see if my dog would eat any. She didn't, but they went the extra step to put those treats in a little to go baggie for us to bring home. I came in here specifically looking for Moo Sticks by Vital Essentials Raw, it's really hard to find that specific treat and they carry them! At a great price too. They even offered me a big discount if I purchased their Moo Stick supply in bulk. They have a great supply of different goods, both big name brand and smaller companies as well. We come here to get Acana (we used to get Orijen, but changed to Acana for a slightly different protein profile), which, yes, you could order from Amazon, but then you miss out on the joys of browsing for fun toys and treats for your furry friend. They also have a punch card if you buy Acana/Orijen, which you can redeem after 10 bags or so FOR A FREE BAG. We've tried out a variety of treats on the shelves and found a few new favorites for our dogs. At checkout, they sometimes give out bags of treats, free toys, or whatever on top of your purchase. Since Jackson Louie was due for his renewal booster and this was the perfect time for my schedule today, Togs for Dogs was the closest and so glad we stopped by. We got a great deal on Halloween dog costumes, chew bones for only $1.89, and we even got to buy a few dog toys both for Nathan and Jackson Louie all for less than $12!! I stumbled on the deal outside Togs For Dogs when VIP Pet care was here. Once inside though, I noticed they have huge selections of dog foods, and lots of organic and very healthy dog treats too. Of course, I buy toys for my dogs like there's no tomorrow, so what I like most about Togs For Dogs was their prices are very reasonable. They carry top quality products and have frequent buyer programs for kibble. This is a very nice family business where they really care about animals. If you're buying a heavy bag of dog food, they will (if they can), carry it and load it in your car for you. As they bag up your purchase, they throw in some treats for your pet. She even took some stuff away from my basket and said she would not recommend it. How great is that?! I had BILLIONS of questions for her.. and she answered every single one with detail. I trusted her on everything and I trained my puppy to pee pee outside within a few days, I trained him to sit, stay, and all sorts of other tricks. All with their loveeely advice'. I'm always down to look for a new place to take my doggy. I mostly shop for his things at either Petsmart or Petco because both places are near my home and I do enjoy those membership points, however, I wanted to be different for once so I looked up some pet shops and this place came up. Parking is all out front and on the streets with a 2 hour time limit I believe? Best part is that you don't have to pay for it. The inside of this shop is very packed. It's cluttered and you're going to have to go through each section slowly if you're not sure why you came here, like me. They have a wide selection of food that I've never heard of and snacks and toys and basically everything that you would need for your furry friend. The lady working here was very friendly. My dog rejected her first treat but that didn't stop her from offering other treats. At the end she even added different treats into a bag and gave it to me! Now that's just wonderful of her. The pet food recall really scared me....I had to change kitty's food. Her brand was on the recall list! (It was dry food but the company was still affiliated with Menu) BAD MOMMY, BAD MOMMY! I was looking for some natural products for kitty and Togs for Dogs & Cats Too came up in a search for Natura brands (Innova Evo). The owners introduced me to California Natural Chicken & Rice formula and said that if kitty wasn't happy I could exchange it for something else. She gave me a sample of treats called Greenies (which kitty loved!) and another sample of Innova Evo just in case kitty didn't like the California Natural. The owners were very nice and knowledgeable and I really appreciated the free samples. The reward card (free bag of food after purchasing 12 bags) is definitely great for frequent shoppers. Prices are quite reasonable considering anything that says "natural" usually carries a premium price. Togs for Dogs and Cats will definitely be the place I will shop at from now on instead of Petco. Summary: Only good stuff sold here! This is an awesome shop with high-quality pet food and knowledgeable staff!! We've been shopping here for a while now, but I almost wished I had known them longer. I discovered Togs when I was looking for a shop in the Peninsula that sold Tiki brand canned cat foods, which by the way, is a "human-grade, no by-product, all natural+added vitamins and minerals" gourmet food. Thanks to this lovely shop, we can buy Tiki Costco-style, along with Greenies, healthy treats, and toys. I often research different types of high/better quality cat foods and I've been able to buy every brand I've wanted [my cat] to try here (e.g. Wellness, Weruva, etc.) -- what do ya know!? I love this place :) You can tell the owners care for our pets and their QOL. I was recently surprised by the kind and helpful advice I received by the guy owner when I voiced that I was looking for low phosphorus food. His comment was one of those reassuring, "man, they really care...we're in good hands" kind of feel-good moment. And I'm always very happy with the selection so we'll continue to shop here. I'd liken this shop to "Barry's for Pets" in San Francisco, in terms of the selection of good quality foods and overall inventory, maybe a little spacious. ** Extra long-bit of information ** I normally don't vouch for something I haven't tried yet but I thought to at least share the info: Togs also has "Non-Emergency Vet Care" (Veterinary Clinic) every Saturday from 1:00pm-2:30pm. It's through VIP Pet Care (VipPetCare.com 1-800-427-7973). Current services include vaccinations, microchipping, Rx flea & tick control, heartworm prevention and testing/deworming. * Staff also told me that everyone seeking services tends to arrive at 1pm, so the lines are shorter after 2pm! ;) I know pet owners are particular about where we receive treatment and veterinary care and many of us have trusty vets to take our beloved animals. But suppose you needed an earmite treatment, Cerenia (motion sickness for dogs), or a health certificate (must call in advance) on a Saturday and one that's affordable?! I mean... it's nice to have an option than none, I'd think. Looking at the list of offerings for tests like FIV/Feline Leukemia, heartworm/lyme/ehrlichia, etc., they seem affordable (lower $$ range, although prices are subject to change the leaflet says). I'm currently on the fence with vaccinations in general but I am searching for a new vet... so $23 for a fecal test? I'd consider this.
