We love this store! We love the staff, they love our dog, we go here for his treats and baths! I would LOVE to give the store 5 stars....but we have one complaint: the cost of food here. It's about $5 a bag more than anywhere else we've found it. We would love to do all of our shopping here but have to go elsewhere for the thing we spend the most money on. Wish they'd be more competitive in that regard, as it would be lovely to do all of our shopping in one location and within walking distance. read more

This place is very well organized, clean, and well staffed. They are very stocked on every type of food you can imagine for your dog or cat as well. They also have small boxes of crickets (25 in each) with sizes small or large. I bought a box and only two were dead, and my gecko loved eating the crickets! There's also a small "small critters" section in the back left corner. I also pick up treats for my rats and gecko there. Definitely worth the stop as they have a lot. We have been thinking about switching our German Shepherd to a single ingredient dog food for a while due to his skin allergies. After researching online I went to pet Food express and was lucky enough to have Jenny help me. Jenny was extremely helpful and informed me more about the different types of single ingredient pet food that they carried and helped me pick one. Jenny was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I was blown away by her helpfulness. This is not what I usually experience when I go into PetCo. Definitely going to keep going back here! read more

Giving 4 stars mainly due to the exceptionally friendly & helpful staff and the cleanliness/organization of the place. Great place to go for quality pet food... you won't find any Pedigree here! It's mostly fairly small brands with quality ingredients but hefty price tags. Also great if your pet has a special diet/food allergies. Only reason for the review and 4 stars is the manager/supervisor... he came off very rude, rushed and bossy! If you ask someone if they need help take the two seconds to answer the question not order people around to come and help. He's lucky to have such great staff. Not sure if he was just having a bad day or tired at the end of the day but kudos to the rest of the staff. read more

Best place to shop at. All the staff members are friendly and very informative. They also don't up-sell items they ask what you're looking for and offer multiple alternatives. This place is a gem. I have never seen a more attentive staff. I went inside this location ONCE with my boyfriend who had been frequenting the store for help with his dog. They remembered which dog he had was in there buying food for because they are genuinely concerned about owners and their pets. Then I went in several months later without my boyfriend, and they knew which dog I was there for! They truly care and it means a lot. I dropped by today to grab some treats for my dog and the employees here were super friendly and helpful. They had a bunch of 50% off sales going on which was a steal. They have a variety of treats and dog food including dog cookies. This location does not have the bakery like the Pasadena one does so be aware of that. It was super clean and overall had a great experience. The one downside is that parking is impossible unless you get lucky and street park in front. I called the store and luckily they let me park behind the store which was helpful and nice of them to offer. read more

I just wanted to say THANK YOU! Earlier today, I had gone to several pet stores in town looking for a hard case carrier for my cat, but couldn't find one for some reason. I went back home and decided to call around before going into anymore places...the first place I called was Pet Food Express in Glendale and I was connected to an employee named Kevin that kindly helped me place a order for curbside pickup telling me the exact size and style to get for my medium sized cat. When my order was ready, Kevin quickly ran the carrier out to the car and remembered that I had said something was wrong with my cat and he sent kind wishes that my cat would be okay. THIS is the kind of place I want to come back to. I felt heard and cared for and I really appreciate this after a very stressful morning. THANK YOU KEVIN! I've been here twice now and I love coming here for my dog. I've bought treats for my dog that he loves!! The store is really clean, the products are better quality than petco and the workers here are the friendliest!! Recently I bought dog socks for my dog from here which unfortunately did not end up fitting him. They made the return so easy! So happy this place just opened up within walking distance from my house - I brought my 95 lb pit bull/dogo argentino here for a bath using the self wash and it was a great experience. I've visited other self washes in LA and this one far exceeds the rest. All other washes I've been to have had tubs made of stainless steel, giving them a "vet-like" feel and terrifying Zeus. Here, the tubs are tiled and feel like home, with stairs that allow him to walk into the tub himself. He's so much more comfortable here. The staff have been extremely welcoming as well. They have a huge selection of products. Everything about this place is awesome! Thanks so much :) we'll be back often! read more

The Staff is nice, friendly and knowledgeable. I had to return a food that made my dog sick without question, not the food, it's good food but not for my dog. He's on raw. So we find hopefully an acceptable match for his tummy and go from there. They are very helpful here and took my return without question and of course I will come back, it's right around the corner. I have never been in a pet food store that I love as much as this one. My first time here was right after my husband and I adopted our first kitten. I had SOOOOO many questions and Inessa was working that day. She answered all of my questions and was so knowledgeable about everything! It's great to see a place that hires people who know a lot about what's best for our fur babies. Fast forward to today, Rose, the manager recommended I buy these Jackson Galaxy balls. I saw them and said "eh sure." When I got home I took them out of the packaging and my cat has been running around non stop playing with them. Everything she said was accurate. I had to call her and thank her! She was so happy her recommendation worked out and I was surprised they even answered the phone (it was 30 minutes past closing time). Had such a great experience here today! I'm a bulldog mom which means I do a TON of research before buying things, but am still left with lots of questions about what is best for my sensitive nugget. Pet Food Express is great! I dropped by the store yesterday and someone had bought all of the cat litter I usually get. The employee who I talked with helped me find a substitute and even gave me some gratis to tide me over until my usual litter is in stock in a few days. Very classy of him! I couldn't tell the difference and it seems neither can my cat. They also have pet adoptions, which is really cool. read more

This is an awesome pet store! We knew they had great dog food and supplies, but what's so cool is that they have DIY dog bathing stations. My 12 year old and I brought in our 35lb dog to give him a bath. We had no idea how it all worked and Ro was beyond helpful. She genuinely cares about your pet. Our dog was very scared- he's always been terrified of getting a bath. He was a rescue. She was so amazing, giving him treats to soothe him while showing us how to use the facility. We choose the vanilla shampoo and conditioner. They have waterproof collars, and tethers in the tub so your doggie won't jump out. She continually checked on us. Once our dog was blow dried we went to pay. Griffin helped us pick out a dog "bone" and he made our dog a "treat bag" with their most popular treat samples. He even wrote out the names of all 5 types of treats on the outside of the bag so we would know what was what. All of their staff were wonderful. I don't know all their names, but everyone is so friendly and helpful. If you haven't been here yet, you're missing out. read more

Wow! My boyfriend & I just had such a great experience here. The moment we walked in we were greeted by a really friendly girl who let us know the deals they had going on in store. We were looking for cat food and asked a gentlemen for his advice. Rodger proceeded to give us great advice on what would be perfect for our fur babies. He has amazing product knowledge and is so polite. He asked us questions and figured out we were getting a kitten soon & let us know about there mobile vet service so we could get our cat shots. He honestly gave some of the best customer service we've experienced & was so genuinely nice. You can tell he cares about customers and customers pets.
