They were having an event: Making colorful paw prints into pretty pictures. Either a butterfly or flowers! I love flowers so that waa my choice! There were a dozen different color shades to choose from: from orange to yellow; blue to green, red to purple. Harvey is so nice, friendly and helpful! She explained to me the complimentary event! I got to pick the colors: purple and yellow for my flowers. We got Haru chan to put his paw in the colored paint and place it on the white poster board. Then i got a couple paint brushes to paint the stems for the flowers! Such a fantastic Event with free salmon treats and lavendar wipes! A variety of shampoos for sensitive skin, warm water (give it time) and warm air flow from a drying hose. ** Bring your own brush & washing gloves to better assist with the washing. ~~ Tip to prevent yourself from slipping: Slide the large rubber floor mat near your tub for more grip & to avoid slipping during the wash. Been going here for years, and because of one worker here, Aolani, I will keep coming back for years to come. Two days before my dog Cosmo passed, we visited Pet Food Express to give him a bath. While there, we got him supplies for a "birthday." We don't know when his actual birthday is but we never gave him one and wanted him to have the experience. Even if he couldn't understand birthdays, we wanted him to know he was appreciated. We were working on limited time. A few days prior, he was officially diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer. When we were checking out, Aolani asked us if Cosmo had a birthday coming up, and I told her about our plans and Cosmo's diagnosis. She then proceeded to love on Cosmo, giving us a bunch of treats and well wishes. It was the absolute kindest and sweetest customer service I can remember. Before we left, she told us that if Cosmo ever needed love, we knew where to come back and find it. I can't express to her how much that meant kindness meant to me. All three of our dogs spent the next couple of days snacking on those treats. We'd scheduled Cosmo's birthday for Saturday but moved it up to Friday when we came to the realization that would need to be his final day. We finally finished the treats in the moments after Cosmo passed. He never suffered. He never knew pain. To her, this may have been nothing more than a small gesture of warmth to two strangers, but to me, it's something I'll hold dear for the rest of my life -- especially when thinking of Cosmo. Cosmo loved to smile and Aolani helped him keep smiling right to the very end. He loved those treats. read more

Every time I go in the employees are kind and are able to answer any and all of my questions! We have two furbabies, a husky and maltepoo. The maltepoo gets bathed and groomed at home. The husky, on the other hand, oh boy! She is the biggest 60 lb baby. The groomer once told us that she even made him feel bad. Yup, that's my baby girl. :-) So now we take her to Pet Food Express. This place is great. For less than $20, you get 25 minutes to bathe, rinse and blow dry your dog. Their machine dispenses various soaps. Included in the price is a plastic collar and a leash so none of your stuff will get wet. For the dog parents, they provide towels and plastic aprons. We love that the sinks are elevated so you're not crouching down the whole time. This is a plus for tall people like my bf who is 6 ft. When you're done, you don't have to clean up. They take care of the hair in the sink and wipe everything down. You just have to put your used towels in the bin, hang up the apron, and return the plastic collar and leash to the cashier. Their soaps are mild and not too fragrant. If you want something with a stronger scent, I recommend bringing your own. They do have shampoos and conditioners available for purchase. There is also an enclosed potty area out in front. Perfect in the summer to give your furbaby more time to dry off before leaving. Lastly, if you do plan on bringing your furbaby here often for a bath, they do have a special. Don't forget to ask the cashier. read more

A Really great pet store. Have come here a few times now, at first because of its convenient location on Central, right across from the Ralph's market, but now come back for their stellar customer service, pet activities, dog bathing facility, and great selection of dog food and treats. I most recently went to Pet Food Express on Saturday because the dog had decided to jump into and swim through portions of Echo Park Lake and now smelled rather horridly. The gf and I walked into Pet Food Express and were immediately greeted and asked how we could be assisted, and when we brought up the dog bathing, the lady immediately got out from behind the cashier's counter, picked up a token, and walked us over to the dog bathing center, and carefully explained everything we needed to know: that there were dog collars (for the dog) to change into that there were two different leash things to hook doggy onto to give us the most "hands-free" washing experience different sized/colored aprons to wear during the dog washing different nozzles (one for the "oxygen" wash") the different types of soaps available where and when to use the towels how to use the dryer a little plastic cup with treats how to have everything ready so that once we popped in the token we'd be ready it was an exceedingly thorough and helpful walk-through of everything we could possibly want to know and really helped us be able to give the dog a thorough bath. We also picked up some frozen food "Just Food for Dogs" brand, and a few treats that the doggy sniffed at and pulled out to eat (he's a fan of pork-filled rawhide and beef esophagus). The doggy was also offered different samples and he happily and agreeably ate them all. We were also offered a buy 3, get 1 free token deal for future dog washes (which we partook of), and took an invitation to the dog pool party for the following day. I was looking for a self service wash, and Pet Med Express was the perfect spot. It was $18 per wash token or buy 3 get the 4th free. I bought the 4 tokens since it's a great deal. You really could wash 2 dogs with one token, we only took about 12 minutes. They also seemed to have a large selection of pet food and supplies, which I'll check out next time. I did get a few small treats which was also buy 3 get the 4th free. I have a large shepherd mix and the wash could handle a much larger dog. They have a cute "dog park" out front. It pains me to write a bad review. Experience for the self serve wash started out well, super sweet cashier, asked me if I had been in before which I hadn't. She gave me a waterproof collar and said it might be too small but just let her know if it was. After getting my dog situated in the tub, I found out the collar was too small. I should have tried it on at the register but it was too late for that and no one was around so I used my collar. The water was FREEZING. I've never been to self serve wash where there weren't temperature controls. The store was empty, 3 salespeople must have been in the front so there was no one to ask. There were I think 3 shampoo options, one a shampoo/conditioner combo. No other option for conditioner. The product came out of the freezing hose so I couldn't even give my girl a break. I probably spent a total of 5-6 minutes before clicking on the "warm" air dryer. There was nothing warm about it, freezing air. My dog was shaking at this point so I dried her off with the towels and went to ask someone if I was missing something on my way out. The 3 sales people did not stop talking or even look in my direction when I started to speak to them. Frustrated, I walked out to get my dog in the sun to get warm. read more

I totally got startled and had an awkward moment when I went in because I was greeted and them asked if it was my first time here. I said it was and after a few seconds of awkward silence the store employee stated that he was just curious since they have only been open for a week. Forgot his name, but he ended up helping me get what I needed and out like under 3 minutes, which was good since I was on a time crunch. I showed him a picture of dog food that my brother needed for his dogs, he located it, matched the picture to make sure, and then helped me to the cash register. He did offer help to carry it out to my car since it was 13lbs, but I told him I got it. I liked how clean and organize the place was and was able to pass by the little play area outside for the dogs that visit and they even had a water fountain for the dogs when they get dehydrated. We just washed our dog here at Pet Food Express today and it is great! Our dog is older (17yo) and he looked comfortable for his whole wash/dry session. The bottoms of the raised tubs are non-slip, the water temperature and blow-dry temperature are both nice - not too warm or cold. What normally can take us up to 2 hours to accomplish at home took 50 minutes at this dog wash. We recommend! read more
