We have been using the Pet Palace since we got dogs 6 years ago with the exception of 2.5 years when we lived in Boston. There have been some changes since we got back (I believe they changed owners) in July but overall it still seems a solid place with a staff the seems to really care about the animals. The playtime is fun for the dogs and I love the way it feels like kids daycare. i've been going to Pet Palace for a number of years and I've been thoroughly appreciative of the way they handle my dog and treat her. She's a little rambunctious at times and probably doesn't pay a lot of attention to what she's being told but overall she's a good dog and I think the people at Pet Palace treat her very well. I appreciate the time that they spent with her if they spend any time at all and I get to know the people as well. Love their service. We've done overnight stays and we've done a 2 week stay. ALWAYS helpful and like home. I have a Boxer that we have to board from time to time. The Pet Palace is outstanding at caring for my Iris. They have a huge array of options from Doggie Day Care to multiple night visits. I am fostering my aunt's Brussels Griffon, Lacy, while my aunt is recuperating from a hip surgery. I have boarded Lacy several times at Pet Palace since having her. The past time was for 9 days. Drop off and pick up went smoothly as usual. Lacy had community play during her stay as well. I did package Lacy's food per meal and included a treat in each bag. Lacy did not appear to have lost weight as I read on another review. Lacy hasn't been around many other dogs and I believe the community play has helped Lacy get used to others and lessen some of the alpha female tendencies she exhibited in the past. The Pet Palace is very clean and the staff really seems to care about each and every pet that visits. I have no worries while on my trips away and know Lacy is in good hands. read more

Congratulations to the Pet Palace for being Houston's best place to take your pets for ANY type of services. I have to give kudos to my personal favorites, Heather, Sharon and Kaila who for the past years have taken care of my rescue cocker spaniels (4 total) and have given them the best life ever. Their tag team efforts have helped me through the good times and bad (when I have had to let two go over the Rainbow Bridge). I am always kept up to date when the boys are in doggie daycare and especially if there are any concerns they may have. It is a wonderful feeling for me that my boys get to play and have fun without a worry in the world! I also have to praise our groomer, Tracey, who makes the boys gorgeous each time and is especially careful with my guys as they become older and needed special attention. Never had a problem with them in the past. Picked up the dogs yesterday only to find my elderly blind Boston had obviously slept in urine for a few days. She was brought to me soaked in urine and smelled of urine. She was stained with urine. I tried to dial Per Palace several times without success. That is why I am posting here. read more

We brought our perfectly healthy dog to be boarded for 4 nights over July 4th weekend. When we picked him up, he was coughing quite a bit. We brought him in to the vet, who diagnosed him with kennel cough. I brought this to the attention of the Pet Palace staff and received a call back from one of the owners. I asked for additional information about the policy listed on their website which states "The Pet Palace will pay up to $500 for any Veterinary care provided by a licensed Veterinarian for the care or treatment of the boarded pet for any injury or sickness incurred while the pet is boarding at The Pet Palace should it be required and determined to be related to their stay." I was informed that this is not for sickness, only "accidents" that happen on their watch and that this kind of stuff is hard to prevent. Was my dog getting sick not an accident? Upon review of the policy, I noticed that kennel cough is not covered, but that should have been explained. Instead, the staff showed little to no concern regarding the health of Astro. I understand that kennel cough is a highly contagious disease, but with proper precautions, vaccinations/screenings, and cleaning practices, this should have never happened. At the very least, we should have been notified that he had been coughing or if there were suspected cases at the facility during his visit. Two months later, our dog is STILL sick. We have been to the vet several times. Astro is on his third round of medication and has had to get X-Rays done to check for pneumonia. He has now been diagnosed with chronic bronchitis due to the damage to his respiratory system. It is very difficult to trust people with the health and wellness of your pets, and the Pet Palace has proven that they are not worthy of my trust. We will not be bringing our dog back to this facility. read more

I left my two min pins, 1 1/2 year old male and 8 month old female, in The Pet Palace care for 10 days while out of town. This was my second time using them but the first stay was only one night. This place came highly recommended and has great reviews. They are clean and friendly. However, when i picked up my dogs, you could visibly tell they had lost a significant amount of weight. I did not notice until i got into the car. When they first brought them out, the pups were lively and jumping around and i was just ready to get them home. These are naturally lean dogs, but i could now see their hip bones and spine defined under their coat. Their legs looked like there was no muscle. They honestly looked starved. I requested that they were fed the centers food when i dropped them off, instead of bringing my own, and was told they ate well. It is very disappointing and honestly upsetting to see how thin they were. I dropped off two dogs, healthy, shiny and at an ideal weight and picked up my babies looking like they hadn't eaten in days. if you use them, bring your own food. if you have a small breed, you might want to request extra feedings and even weigh them before dropping them off. If the center is busy, maybe they could do occasional weigh ins for small dogs especially for extended stays. This would definitely help ensure they are eating well. definitely look closely before leaving when you pick them up. read more

We absolutely loved this place. I was so nervous about leaving our Sansa (Rhodesian Ridgeback) as we just rescued her in August. However, we had a family vacation planned months before she came to our home. Unfortunately the place we rented was not pet friendly. Luckily after touring several facilities and not being fully happy with any of them, we came across this place. Sansa stayed at The Pet Palace for 5 days. She loved it! The staff is so friendly. I felt very comfortable leaving my fur baby in their care. Between playing with her new friends and being read a bedtime story, Sansa was treated with love as she would be treated at home. This place is awesome! Before the pandemic we boarded our little dog Obi Wan the Doggie at the Petsmart Pet Hotel, but they have not opened back up. We struggled finding a place we felt comfortable with. I stumbled across this place online and made our reservation over Thanksgiving. This is a family run business and it shows. Theyve poured their hearts, soul, and a lot of resources into this business. One of the owners offered to take me on a tour of the facility. This place is state of the art. The owners, and their staff are fantastic! Having spent some time with them its easy to see they truly care about the animals and the people who own them. Im only giving this place five stars because giving them more is not an option. Obi even got a Thanksgiving meal while we were out of town. Our dog is high-maintenance -- we admit that. He's also a 120-pound Rottweiler, so you can imagine that combination. The Pet Palace gets him and his quirks, and he absolutely adores his visits. Bethany, Emily, Adam, Lexi and all of the Pet Palace staff go out of their way to make sure he's entertained, happy and safe. Like typical over-anxious parents, we usually call while out of town, and we always get a prompt and caring response on how he's doing. What can I say? I just love the Pet Palace. I can tell how amazing they are with how excited my dogs get just pulling into the parking lot. My lab Bronn loves the group play and it burns a ton of his energy. I also recommend getting a bath upon exit, I dont know if they use a perfume or spray but he never smells better then the first few days of leaving! As always I have nothing but good things to say about the experience we had with your establishment. I, like many pet lovers I'm sure, have anxiety when having to leave my dogs overnight. Well, again, Kaylee (knows us well and is always so helpful and caring towards our dogs) and the other front of house girls welcomed my dogs with big smiles and kind hellos. They were nice to us too of course! But I review again to express the gratitude we have for the consistency of comfort and assurance that the dogs are in good hands when we have to leave them overnight. I also want to point out that when we pick the dogs back up they come home and you can sense that they weren't traumatized during their stay.
