Good consistent service. Been coming for over a year for haircuts. Scheduling is easy and staff are helpful.

I brought my toy poodle, Hanna, to Pet Station perhaps half a dozen times in 2024-25. I was very satisfied with their work and I thought the pricing was fair. The groomer was usually a gentleman known as Mr. Wu; he did a nice job. But then an incident occurred that causes me to only give Pet Station two stars. In late 2025, a different groomer at Pet Station cut the inside of my dog's leg. Pet Station acknowledged the problem, and of course didn't charge me for that grooming, but it was a small open wound, easy for the dog to access and ripe for infection. Therefore, that evening I took her to an emergency pet hospital to have it stitched up (Unfortunately, by the time I picked her up after the grooming, it was early evening, and regular vet hours were not available). Pet Station said both before and after the surgery that they were going to pay for the vet visit. However, they have not done so after over two months, and now are ignoring my emails. In fact, I only asked them to pay for the initial vet visit, not the second visit when the stitches were removed. Of course, I also wasted 5 to 6 hours of my time as a result of their mistake. I'm not one of those "I'd give them negative stars if possible" type of people. This is a balanced view. I gave them two stars because they had previously done a good job. But I can't forgive what they've done now. I have two suggestions for Pet Station: (1) Don't overbook. I think you try to book too many pets in, leaving insufficient time for your groomers, and leading to serious mistakes being made. (2) Stick to your promises. The right thing to do would be to reimburse me for the initial vet expense at least. You have not done so, and that stinks. You lose 1 star from 5 for injuring my pet, and you lose 2 more stars for not taking responsibility for your actions. read more

Very disappointing experience. They misidentified my dog's breed the first time and gave the wrong cut. This visit wasn't any better -- they didn't follow my instructions, cut some areas extremely short, and my dog ended up injured. Communication was also poor, I cannot recommend this place. read more

I went to the Pet Station and was not happy. Found a great groomer but they are unfortunately closing. Returned to the Pet Station to try one more time. First they asked me to rebook since a groomer was sick. I should have canceled my appt since I could not rebook due to summer travel. My golden doodle was cut very uneven and way too short with long hairs sticking out. It's like they ran out of time and did not finish grooming the snout and face. Everyone asked what happened to my dog!!! I had to fix her haircut myself and now she looks ok until it grows out and I find a new groomer. Last two appointments were awful. Communication is terrible. First appointment no notification. They would have kept our dog overnight without our permission if we hadn't decided to drive there to find out where our dog was. Second time made an appointment one week in advance for one o'clock grooming. Called at 5 to find out when we could pick up our dog. Told it would be 6 o'clock. Went there at 6 and dog still wasn't ready. Took him anyway and it looked like grooming was only 3/4 done. A one o'clock appointment and not ready at 6? Not going there anymore. read more

It shocked me. When I picked up my dogs yesterday, I saw there were 4 - 6 people trying to corner a Corkie in the parking lot. Then I found out, the poor Corkie ran away from the groomer's store. First, this store does not have a very good leash policy and they do not have any child-proof gate at the front door. Second, I learned that they took the Corkie out in the front desk area and tried to take a promotional photo (Valentine's Day theme), and the Corkie ran away. Yesterday when I dropped off my dogs, I did not ask for authorization to take any pictures. It's poor etiquette to not ask for permission before taking a close-up picture of someone's dog. I found out two of my dogs' hair in their ears did not clean up. I do not know the anal gland expression part since one of my dogs is still scooting on the carpet this morning and another one is licking his bottom a lot after the grooming. I would say they did a good job in shampoo and hair cut, however, for security, and other services (even though they said they are included in the package), I do not have much confidence. I am taking my dogs to the vet today and check out the anal glands. Evening: I found one of my dogs is licking his paws, 3 out of 4 paws were cut. No one mentioned anything. Disappointed. read more

Random acts of kindness: Pet Station in Newcastle Amina (owner) and Joanne (groomer) Bambi was recently diagnosed with cancer and after multiple vet visits, meds, alternative treatment, she needed a break but needed a groom badly. I wanted a quick in/out stress free visit but no one would take her aside for 4 hours which I think is too stressful. Here comes Pet Station. First call & first visit and without hesitation, they said to bring her in! it may be her final grooming so let's get Bambi beautified. Only expecting a face paw and belly shave, my baby came out fully groomed as the princess that she is. Poor customer service and bad grooming. They don't pick up their phone nor do they respond to emails. I emailed them to inform them about the 1.5 inch cut found a couple days after the grooming session near her chest with photos and I did not get a response. My pup is very calm in general and stays still at grooming sessions, so the fact that this happened shows that they don't know what they're doing. read more

Excellent grooming service today. I would recommend in a heartbeat! The pricing is very fair and the staff is courteous and professional. I was nervous because during the consultation we seemed to be describing different things and sort of debated the cut and style, but I was pleasantly surprised. They really listened! I have called them several times with simple questions. Every time the lady who answers the phone says that she will have the owner call me back, but after several days or even weeks, no one ever does. Based on the overwhelming number of negative reviews (pets being cut or injured by the groomer, pets escaping and running away from the shop, poor grooming service, rude staff, etc.), I will definitely not be taking my pet here. Went for a walk in nail trim and paw pad trim for my combative spicy Shi-Poo today. She had a mild ear infection so was extra sensitive on top of her usual spicy character. Wu and Joanne were calm, extremely patient, and went above and beyond to help us, where most groomers would have given up and turned us away. Very nice and lovely team! I brought in my German Shepard who is 1 year old so of course she has a lot of energy. I requested a nail trim and they did a great job and keeping her calm. I did request for a bath and they said they would squeeze me in however within 1 hour, they called me back to inform me that Olivia was too scared of the water and that they tried their best. No worries I totally understand. I really appreciate their communication and trust me, whenever I bathe her, she is a complete night mare to bathe. I appreciate their efforts and they were very honest about it. They did say they would be more than happy to try again and recommend some anxiety meds to help calm her. I will be coming back to them. I take my furry daughter to the Pet Station in Bellevue and my nephew to this location in Newcastle since his mom prefers me to take him here so it's convenient for her to pick him up. Great place to get your dog groom if you live in this area, they seem to specialized in small dogs and know what cuts are flattering on them. It's slightly pricier than your typical chain Petco or PetSmart, but you get what you pay for and it's definitely always consistent. We recently moved to Newcastle and were excited when we found a new groomer so close to us. I brought my border collie/aussie mix in for a "bath and tidy". I only read the google reviews before taking him here but I guess I should have read the yelp ones too. I confirmed that they would shave around his butt because he gets Matts if we don't keep it shaved, they said they would trim around his face/ears and his private parts. 80 dollars and 2 and a half hours later I got him back looking almost the exact same with no "trim" done, his butt was shaved very choppy and uneven. They also shaved up onto his back for some reason. His feet were left half trimmed. It's frustrating when you pay so much money to get him back looking the exact same as when I bathe him myself but this time with a bad haircut. All the reviews of them injuring dogs explains the waiver I had to sign saying they accept no responsibility of the dog getting injured while it's being groomed. read more

I had my two toy poodles groomed . When I went to pick them up I was shocked!! One had her top notch shaved way down and the other did not have her top notch shaped or trimmed. One had her nails clipped and the other one was not. Ones ears were cleaned and the other one was not. I requested their face and necks be shaved and they were not. The one gal who apparently is the owner did take my pups to the back and slightly trimmed some of their neck hair but didn't even both to clip it from behind their ears or shave completely around the entire neck. I asked if their anal glands were cleaned. I was told yes they were. I took both pups to the vet and both had anal glands that were so full the vet had problems emptying them. It is my opinion that this place should not be in business. They have no idea how to clip poodles. If I had trusted them and not checked my pups ears and had their anal glands checked by my vet, my one pup would have experienced a ear infection and both would have suffered ruptured anal glands which would require surgery and me possibly loosing them. If I had my choice I would not have given this business one star. While writing this review I see another review written by someone with the same name with a 5 star review. I did not write this review. I have never left my pups there while I work. This really has me concerned about this business. I just received a written review from Eddy, who says he is the owner, another confusing item. The lady I talked to and have been talking to told me she was the owner. Maybe you both are the owners. I spent less than 5 minutes when I brought my pups in. I never said anything about previous groomers. I was happy that Pet Station had new owners and I looked forward to having my pups groomed close to home. I spent those 5 minutes telling the gal how I wanted my pups groomed, which wasn't followed. Stories are really being made up. Why in the world would I call and request another appointment? I do think you are trying to groom dogs but your staff does not have the knowledge to do so. The lady that told me she was the owner told me you use heated towels to clean the anal glands. What?? Ask any vet, go on google. That's why my pups anal glands were full. I have pictures including very long nails on my one pup. I was told her nails were clipped. Pictures don't lie. A statement from a local vet doesn't lie. I went into your salon with great hopes. My cat was traumatized after the experience - when I asked why they had so much trouble this time, I was told there were several barking dogs in the room while trying to groom...something they said they do not do. My cat also came home smelling like cigarette smoke and half completed, yet I was still required to pay full price. Nail trimming review: I was a bit skeptical after reading the reviews, but my 2 yr old, 65lb Staffy/Lab/GSD mix was in dire need of a nail trim, and it's hard to find places who take appointments just for nail trims and also have openings. My dog *hates* having her nails trimmed after I accidentally cut her quick as a puppy. We've gone here and there but haven't found a place we love. She's afraid of being put in the giant grooming hammocks too. When I arrived for my appointment, my dog was already running for the door, clearly afraid and trying to get out of it. I let the front desk know that this could be tricky, and they were friendly and accommodating. They first tried to take her in the back, and then said that they could try doing this in the waiting area, with me assisting to calm her, which is what we ended up needed to do. Working with a groomer named Yeng, I hugged her gently keeping her still and her head away from Yeng (no muzzle needed), while Yeng gently but firmly held her paws and trimmed her. Yeng had great communication, giving calm and clear instructions to adjust her so he could keep working, but also letting me take my time to get Unikko adjusted so that I could make her feel as safe and comfortable as possible. There wasn't pressure to rush or to just "grab her and get it over with," even with other customers coming in and going out around us. The entire interaction was extremely respectful and positive. Together, we co-regulated with her to keep her as calm as possible and also out of corners so she didn't feel like she was trapped, even though I was holding her. When Yeng felt her getting really tense and ready to escape, he helped her shake out her paws and expertly guided her back without yanking or using unnecessary force. He also made sure to love her up and give her praise in between. All of this still required us gently but firmly wrangling her while squatting/kneeling since my dog is 65 lbs of muscle, but it worked out beautifully. We were in and out in about 20 minutes tops. The nail grooming job itself was great and more attentive than what we got at Petco. In the past after getting her nails trimmed, my dog would be distant and avoidant ("Mom, how could you do this to me???", often just going to sleep for extra long periods of time because she was so tired. Today, she was happy once we were all done, *not avoidant at all*, and full of her normal engagement and energy. I am so thrilled by this experience and will be going back again! Note: I ran my dog prior to coming in for her appointment which I also think helped keep her from being overly exciteable. Also, if your dog is similar in size and fear of nail clipping, I would come in prepared to get on the floor and hug your dog closely to do what Yeng and I did. I'm not sure how many people were on staff when I came in, but it was busy enough that other staffers couldn't necessarily help out, but I'm not sure my dog would have wanted that either. read more

I have brought both my little dogs here a couple times. My family now uses them as well for grooming. This last groom was the FINAL AND LAST. I picked my dogs up with the only mention of finding a hot spot on my little one. They mentioned the major mistake they did to my older one, Chelsea. I picked them up Thursday worked Friday and Friday night to my fright I discovered it!! The groomer cut the lower lid of my dogs eye!!! Chelsea is a shitzu with one eye only already and now we have a missing chunk of her lower lid of her one and only eye. I recently had a good first experience as we're new to the area. The team at Pet Station were very attentive to my concerns for my tiny grandpa aged dog (17yrs old). They asked a lot of questions to understand about any behaviors/existing conditions to consider for his grooming which I appreciated very much. The service was quick and the haircut looked exactly like what we asked for. The only downside I can think of is the close quarters for animals of all sizes to potentially be grouped together in waiting rooms or staging areas that might scare little pets and cause anxiety (I specifically asked to keep my dog separate). Overall good neighborhood spot we'll likely use again. read more
