I had one of the most disappointing customer service experiences at this location on November 30th. I came in to purchase the Stella & Chewy's Meal Mixers that were advertised in the store as BOGO through 11/30. When I went to check out, the item rang up full price. The associate Kassidy tried to help but couldn't adjust it, so she called the manager, Isaac. That's where things went completely downhill. Isaac walked up to the register already curt and dismissive. After showing him the clearly posted BOGO signage, he still refused to honor the sale, saying corporate ends promotions in the system 15 minutes before closing. The signs in the store did NOT reflect that, and his tone made it clear he had no interest in helping or even communicating respectfully. His mannerisms, professionalism, and overall attitude were unacceptable. The customers behind me even commented on how rude the interaction was. I ended up purchasing Fromm dog food as well, but I returned my entire purchase. After this experience, I wouldn't recommend this store to anyone. As a pet owner, I expect basic respect and accurate advertising. Our hard-earned money shouldn't be taken lightly, and this location clearly doesn't value its customers. Isaac should not be in a leadership role if this is how he treats people. This was enough to lose my business permanently. read more

PETA, COVER YOUR EYES, OK, lets review..... I came to pick up some live rats for my snakes, unbeknownst to me, live feeder rats come in on Wednesdays ....if the snake owners would like to know.... The kind cashier told me, I'd have to come back on Wednesdylay, but really early, because they get sold out fast. She also mentioned a vendor shortage issue, that they have been having. I'll be busy Wednesday so I settled for frozen feeders. They were courteous and very informative. read more

A green Quaker landed on me today and decided to come home with me. So we stopped by Pet Supermarket and the ladies at the store dropped everything to help me find all the things he needs. They even gave him food and water and assembled his cage with all the stuff I bought. He took off on a self-guided tour a couple of times and the ladies helped catch him again. This is an online pet supply store with over 200 locations and you would think it would have a decent reputation to at least fulfill an online order. This is NOT the case. I failed to read reviews before making an online order for some pet food. 12 days passed without hearing a thing about my order, so I finally reached out one evening to their site. The next morning I saw an email stating that they had to cancel my order due to a "system error." I have never heard of this and I do many online orders every week. This is a very unprofessional way to handle an order especially when you are depending on an item to arrive. I will never order from this company again and will give my business to a more reliable company. read more

In the words of my dog, woof woof ruff ruff yip yip grrrrr woof! (Human translation: I love going to Pet Supermarket with mom!) So.... I come here often since it is much more convenient than Petsmart and carries my dog's food, which can be hard to find. Pet Supermarket should really just be called Pet Market, at this location at least, as it is a small and very much "no frills" place - but that's why I like it. Going here is much less of a production than going to one of the larger stores where you can get distracted by rows upon rows of different kinds of toys and treats. I can get in and out with my food and maybe an antler or a bully stick, which are conveniently showcased near the check-out to entice you to spend an extra $10 or $15 before you leave (it works). Small selection but sometimes that's good when you tend to get distracted by too many options. The staff are really friendly and helpful. As for the prices, good not great, but there's always some kind of sale going on. I get email updates about deals on food and treats, which I usually take advantage of since my pup's food (Natural Balance) is darn expensive. They stock a lot of healthy grain-free foods and don't try to push their brands on you like the others do (actually, I'm not even sure if they have their own brand. All I know is the selection for my food is extensive and they're always helpful about picking a new flavor or getting a good deal). In addition to dog and cat food, they have a small selection of animals (birds and small furry things) and related products and often some cute cats up for adoption. I'm looking forward to trying the other locations, but for now this lil spot is just fine. Recommended. read more

All the fish are very sick in the tanks. Couldn't find one tank on the linked water system that didn't have fin rot and ick. They told my husband he couldn't buy the Crawfish because it was too sick. Yet they sold two fish out of the same tank to two little girls setting up their first fish tank?! This is the fourth time in a year I've gone back to give them another shot... I feel like Pet Supermarket is underrated. After recently acquiring a dog (don't ask- it's a long story), I feel as though I have been in every pet store in Tampa. Unlike Petsmart, Pet Supermarket never seems to be crowded, and it is far less overwhelming. I recently visited Petsmart to get a training collar for said dog, and they were out of stock on most of the sizes! So I swung by Pet Supermarket after work one day- pleasantly surprised to see a wall plentiful of collars in every size. Also, I am delighted to learn that they carry Natural Balance dog food- as I just switched to this brand in hopes of my dog itching and shedding less. Staff has always been friendly and helpful here. I will definitely continue to choose Pet Supermarket over the other big pet stores. read more

I will start off by saying all of your employees are very nice and courteous, but it is appauling the conditions you keep your reptiles in. The baby bearded dragons are so malnourished that their hip bones are protruding. One baby was so young it had to only be maybe 2 weeks old. Way too young to adopt out. The baby was so lethargic it couldnt hold its head up or keep its eyes open. They are living in sand which can cause impaction and is unsafe for them. Not only this but there are days worth of poop all over the tank. Its sad to go into a pet store and see this. I hope you guys can educate yourselves on proper housing and nutrition for your reptiles so this does not continue. read more

Purchased a frog, it died after one day. Return policy is seven days so I took it back 2nd day but to the Dalemabry location. Would not refund. Went to fouler and they inform me I need a water sample. Nowhere does it say you need a water sample. I've already wasted more gas then the price of the frog. read more
