Pet Supplies "Plus" saved the day! After my husband and I had been working some odd hours last week, I found myself out of premium dog food at 6:30 on a Saturday night and my pups had not eaten since breakfast... I thought to quickly resolve the matter by immediately heading to the closest store, The Canine Center in Webster Groves, but I was too late, they closed at 6:00pm on a Saturday....very disappointed... I called Treats Unleashed in Des Peres, which was still open, but they did not carry my brand (Taste of the Wild)...They did offer to special order a bag, which was nice, but I didn't have that kind of time... So, I called Pet Supplies "Plus", to make sure they were not closed before I made the long drive down Manchester Road....They were open until 9:00pm on a Saturday! Amazing! My two curious and happy Frenchies walked-in and were greeted with a warm welcome. This place rocks my socks. I have a dog and also foster dogs for a local rescue group and I have to say that PSP is the best pet store around bar none. They not only care about their patrons but they have gone above and beyond in helping me save money. If you were unaware you can go in and try to find Henrietta the 4 foot rubber chicken and get 20% off your order. My kids love hunting for this giant rubber chicken which can be anywhere, but the employees are nice enough to help out my girls by dropping hints which always lead to them finding her and me getting 20% my order. Also, if they have any coupons for the food they carry, they will gladly pass them along. On one visit they gave me a coupon for $30 off my food purchase!! Every time I go here they treat me great and they have great prices to boot. I see no reason to go petsmart/petco again with a place like Pet Supplies Plus around. I have shopped at the Pet Supplies Plus in Ballwin for many years. I have classroom pets as well as dogs and cats, and they stock everything I need. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. They always ask if they can help me with anything, and if I need help getting large bags into my car. This location has a visiting vet on Sunday, and I have used them to keep up with vaccinations. They are friendly and great with dogs. read more

I am so impressed with this store! As a long time Petco/petsmart shopper, I was pleasantly surprised when I had already passed Petco on Manchester and needed dog food so I stopped in here. SO glad I did and will be coming here from now on. Prices are reasonable and the staff are BEYOND helpful! I had my toddler with me and the woman helped me out to my car with the giant bag of dog food, even after I insisted I could handle it. Pet Supplies Plus is seriously a life saver. They are absolutely amazing. I couldn't be happier with their selection, services, and customer service. I am a pet mama to two kitties and a new German Shepherd puppy.. Practically a zoo at my house, so things can be a little crazy... but the employees have made things easier for us. I have been a cat lady my whole life so I don't know a ton about dog products, and they really helped my husband and I get some good, healthy food and treats for our puppy. The associate literally walked through the whole store with us and went through her recommendations for our breed of dog. She was honest, and didn't just recommend products that were expensive just for sales. She went through ingredients of the food, helped us compare, and even gave us a sample to take to our puppy to make sure she liked it before we bought a whole bag. It's so important to us to feed our pets healthy ingredient dog and cat foods. I can't imagine feeding our pets anything with by-products, gluten-meal, etc. If you wouldn't eat it, why feed it to your pet? Basically... we spend a lot of money on our pets so it's important to us that we found a place that we can trust their opinion... And Pet Supplies Plus is that place. Another thing I love about Pet Supplies Plus is that they pay for the food for the local police K9's... I mean, how cool is that? And they also give a discount to police and military. Gotta support that. They even have a groomer and Vets there on certain evenings. We brought our younger cat here for his shots and they were great with him. Just make sure you get there right when they begin, or you'll have to stand in a long line. We do have a vet, but it is just so much cheaper going to their clinic. I am very excited to meet the groomer, because I have heard nothing but good things about her. The prices are better than Petco, the employees are extremely knowledgeable, caring, and want to help you. Couldn't be happier in a pet store! read more

This is a great place! The staff is super friendly and helpful. Simon, one of the assistant managers, seems to always be around and willing to help/answer questions. They offer me coupons all the time. This is a chain store, but it is a franchise and is locally owned - I love to patronize local businesses/locally owned stores. They sponsor pet adoption days and other special events at the store. They have a groomer in house. They welcome your pets in the store. It's just a really great place to shop - the focus is on customer service, which isn't always the case at a lot of places today. I highly recommend this store! read more

I went here just to check it out as I just got a new puppy. The staff is awesome! And the store has tons of deals and great products. The manager, Simon, was very informative and gave us a coupon and a free toy! He had tons of great advice and walked us around the store showing us products. I recently visited Pet Supplies Plus to pick up 1,500 pounds of dog food for the local pet food pantry. The store was very clean and the staff were very friendly. We recently bought an item at another location and before I made this purchase I called the Ballwin Pet Supplies Plus store and asked if I could return it and was told yes!!! I tried to return it and was told NO because it was bought from another store. The manager did tell me to try Pet Supplies Plus in Warson Woods. I spoke with the owner and he was very kind and understanding and is accepting the return. I will NOT be shopping at the Ballwin Pet Supplies Plus location. Very disappointed!!! read more

Great selection of treats and toys. Much better and similar priced to petco. I went to get a harness for a puppy and some ear powder for ear cleaning. The guy showed me the ear cleaning stuff but I couldn't find ear powder. I did end up with the harness and a toy, but had to order the powder online. read more

I bought some vegetable treats here that my rabbit likes. The staff was helpful. I wish you sold Vita Prima young rabbit formula because my rabbit is picky and that's all she eats. It's what she started on. And I had to return the Oxbow because she wouldn't eat it. I've looked everywhere and the only place that sold it is Petland but it's a 30 minute drive. read more

Unfortunately they were advertising obedience lessons from Marie Harbers on their bulletin board. The classes were in the store. The fee was $125 and payable to Marie. Marie showed up twice and then did not show up again. I showed up at the store 4 times for class, Marie was a no show and the store did not know as they said they were not affiliated with her but was allowing her to have classes in their store. I sent emails to Marie and left voice messages, no response. Finally week 5 Marie called and said she was having classes again. I told her I went elsewhere as I received no response from her and had no idea what was going on. I asked her for a refund and she said no since she was offering classes again. I explained to her she was offering Saturday classes and I went on Tuesdays. I work weekends. She said that was not her problem. Went to purchase dog food at the store and saw her sign was back up advertising classes again. I spoke to the manager, Simon and told him story. I told him I thought it was not in the best interest of the store to allow Marie to use the store for classes as several people lost their money and she refused to refund. He said he would talk to her. That was 3 weeks ago. No response or refund from the store or Marie. Very poor service from both. read more

We love this shop, however, I feel like the associates could use a little more training especially when they are assisting a customer with a dusting of calcium on the crickets. I was in the other day and asked for 25 crickets to be dusted with calcium for my bearded dragon, and the individual put so much calcium powder on them my crickets were legit snow white. I didn't say anything because this was the second time this has happened in a week. But now, for the second time, I woke up the next morning to all the crickets being dead. I also notice a lack of selection when you go to select live food for your bearded dragon. It would be nice if we were also offered Dubia roaches( tropical spotted roaches), silkworms,and others for hatchlings. Crickets do not contain any nutritional value, therefore, being low on the food chain for bearded dragons and can actually carry parasites that will end up infecting your beardie. Other than these issues, the store is amazing, they have great prices that will beat the competition and a staff that is beyond friendly and will assist you with everything you need for your new companion! :D read more

I'm not sure where to start . . . Jeanne and the whole staff at Pet Supplies Plus are amazing! We rescued a dog several years ago and I immediately headed there. Jeanne greeted me and my new family member and as I told her about her recent rescue she offered to see if the groomer had time to bathe her and clean her up. The groomer made the time and an hour later "Roxy" was beautiful! Jeanne helped me choose a harness and provided free food samples. I was impressed by the kindest and the amount of time spent with me. Shortly thereafter we decided to foster dogs for several local rescues. I choose to buy a new bed and miscellaneous items for every foster of ours, to have their own and be able to take with them when adopted. Jeanne provided me with a unsolicited discount each time I came in with a new foster. Again the thoughtfulness was so appreciated. I have numerous other stories to tell about the helpfulness of the staff but this review would be too long. Don't hesitate to go to Pet Supples Plus in Ballwin you won't regret it!
